What do you look like? I have a face with freckles, brown eyes, a nose, and a mouth. I wear black rimmed glasses. I have long hair that goes past my butt. People going "but you wouldnt leave your dog out like a cat!!" Have never lived in the south. I aint even rural, an appartment complex in Tulsa, but i couldnt take my dog out for the longest time because our neighbors had a dog who would straight attack any dog she saw. Did they leash her up? NOPE they let her roam. We have roamers all the time here, but thats the one that made my roommate scared to take greta on walks because she has a phobia of dogs.

Oh and the appartment managers dont do shit about the roamers. Nobody will do anything. You just have to be prepared to fight a dog away from your dog at the drop of a hat. And if you need vet bills from the attack, fuck you.
