SAILOR AND BRANDY ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
It’s just not working, here at our new place. I love them so, so so so much but its just not working for them, or for me, or for my neighbors. They could be so much happier with someone else.
Sailor is an OGO rooster hatched on October 9, 2018. He’s incredibly friendly with most people, knows his name, enjoys a good shoulder, recalls easily, doesn’t hate being handled and will start wooing you as soon as you come near his nest box. He’s a classic pinchy boy, and will try to wrestle your hand into submission - this is normal, its how pigeon boys try to win over the ladies. He likes to play with bells, rings, pieces of straw and his own shed feathers. He starts cooing at 6 AM sharp every single morning, by the way!
Brandy is Sailor’s OGO/Dutch Capuchine half-sister, hatched October 24 2019. They are bonded together. She’s a bit more jumpy than Sailor and enjoys her personal space, but she doesn’t shy away from a handful of seeds and will usually fly over when I call her (if she’s not busy tending her nest).
These two are both from a line of birds with health issues, so they shouldn’t be bred. Doesn’t stop them from trying, though - you will have to religiously swap their eggs for fakes every month.
They come with their pigeon pants (essentially a birdie diaper), which they haven’t really been exposed to enough. You may not be able to just slap em on- they should be conditioned first. That said, both birds are perfectly happy free-flying either in a loft or indoors, and if they are well-fed, they are easy to clean up after. If they live inside, be aware that together they produce quite a bit of dust and (during moulting season) feathers. I use a small air purifier, personally.
They may be ready to go as early as next week. Together, they are $45 plus shipping (which can be anywhere from $25 to $65 depending on distance).

Remember The Blind Side starring Sandra Bullock? The movie showed how a kid who had an extremely rough upbringing got help from the family of a school friend, found success in football and ultimately ended up being adopted by the family. Turns out he was never adopted.
Michael Oher says that he was tricked by the Tuohy family into signing documents that made them his conservators. Since he was already 18 at the time the family told him, “that it means pretty much the exact same thing as 'adoptive parents,' but that the laws were just written in a way that took [his] age into account.”
Oher also says that papers were signed so that his story and likeness were given away for free to use in The Blind Side. He also never got a single royalty check for the hugely successful, Oscar nominated film in the 14 years since its release.
