Spongy chocolate cake with flame blasted hazelnut crunch roof... aaaah. . ..and if it’s still not enough you can have some fun with additional homemade vanilla ice cream. . Photography: • huge window from the top part / partially covered to avoid unwanted reflection on the surface. • Low iso for clean details as always when I shoot still life • aperture mid closed f/7 on a f/2.8 90mm macro lens. (Lenses are the sharpest when you move aperture 4-5 stops higher) • little reflection card on the left side just to bring some extra details on the side of the dessert. • props were added at the window. It’s much easier to work. Does anyone else absolutely despise being put into a box of labels and expectations? 🖐🏻 ~•~ I am one of those people. I hate being defined as something that I do or say or whatever the case may be. I once heard a food photographer say that he never shoots with blue backgrounds because blue is an appetite suppressant. It’s an interesting perspective, but somehow it’s never stopped me from diving into the cake after a shoot 😂 Blue is a beautiful complement to yellows and oranges. It’s a cool tone, which recedes to the eye, and can provide contrast to bring out the warmth in food. An all warm tone can work in food photography, but sometimes it can look too Eighties to me. I prefer to use cool or neutral toned backgrounds. I believe that the best food images balance cool and warm tones. As for the question when and where was milk added to tea, tea historians believe that the first iteration of chai with milk was developed by travellers and traders mostly likely from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Bengal, people who had easy access to good quality milk. With growing cross-country trade, sweet milky chai soon became the go-to drink, at least for the office bearers (and workers), to sustain a rather long day. Photography: • huuuge window for smooth broad light. You can see how bright everything is. Ahhh... - beautiful. • one extra light from the right side to amplify the highlights + black cartboard placed on the left side to create a bit if shadow and give a bit more depth to the peanuts. • tripod of course 60 degrees - I found that is a good angle here. • shutter speed is fairly low 50/sec iso is low around 125 due to I had a tripod to use so no problem for steady camera. • a bit of editing on highlights and shadows. • completely removed the the unnecessary colours like blue + aqua + magenta + purple so that I have this eye pleasing warm coloured happy and festive picture. . • I had to take back a bit of saturation of the yellow and increase its luminosity.
