The Couple Indulges (Finn Balor x female OC)
"You've been watchin' any of my matches?" Finn teased with a grin.
Her cheeks flushed pink, gaze shifting to the side. "I've watched a few of them..." she stuttered. Would he be weirded out if I said I've only watched his Balor matches?
A chime, followed by a chipper and robotic voice sounded above them, their food sliding over on the conveyor belt. Oh thank God, she thought in relief.
Contains: lunch date, sushi, learning to use chopsticks, fluff and angst, praise kink (non-sexual), Balor is a little shit, mentions of sexual activity
*gasp* Another Finn Balor story?!? Why yes, because I am a little gremlin and wanted to try writing something that is not straight up p*rn. How about a cute little date with Finn and Ophelia at a sushi joint with some character development?
This takes place right after The Man Savors, so please read that first! (And if you have, thank you!)
I do not own Finn Balor/Prince Devitt/Demon King. This is purely a fantasy and not intended to rile his wife up either!
Tumblr media
"C'mon Finn. Please hurry," Ophelia trailed off, leg bouncing and green eyes scanning the sidewalks.
It may have only been two minutes since she sat at a bench outside the local stadium, but it felt like she had been waiting for two hours to her fluttery stomach and impatient mind. She started wondering if Finn had gotten her DM on where to meet her (yes, he did Ophelia tried to tell her brain) or if he somehow got lost amongst the twisting streets of downtown. Especially since the last time he was here, it was for a wrestling show.
"I wonder if he's sent anything to me," Ophelia murmured, turning to open her purse. "I did tell him I was wearing the same dress from the first time we met..."
"Which looks lovely on ye."
Ophelia let out a high-pitched yelp as she jumped, her head turning to face the man who complimented her.
Finn had put his hands up in front of her, blue eyes widened in concern. "Sorry luv!" he said. "Didn't mean te scare ya!"
"No no, you're fine!" she assured him, standing up and smoothing her dress down. "I was just occupied and wondering when you were coming!" She shakily exhaled, looking up at him sheepishly.
His blue eyes were sparkling, and his smile was blinding. The short-sleeved black t-shirt and jeans did nothing to conceal his muscular frame and Ophelia's mouth dried, her gaze dropping to the sidewalk and the silvery flats upon her feet.
"I still can't believe we're meeting like this..." she muttered. "I'm having lunch with a famous wrestler."
Her date chuckled at this, pulling her into a side hug. "Good te see ya again Lia," Finn said. She slightly relaxed in his hold, humming at the woodsy cologne he wore. He glanced down at her neck, where a dainty necklace of rhinestones draped over her collarbone. "How long 'ave ye had dat necklace? It's so pretty."
Ophelia pursed her lips, her core pulsing briefly. "A-a while," she stuttered. "First time I've worn it out and about."
Finn hummed, noticing the little patches of purple dotting her skin beneath the glittering jewels. Even with concealer powdered upon them, they still stood out against her pale skin. "Balor?"
She clicked her tongue. "Yeah."
The demon let out a dark chuckle within his host's mind, purring at the memories of the night prior.
"So," Finn perked up. "Ye know dis area better den I do. Where should we get lunch?" He started walking down the sidewalk, an arm loosely wrapped around her waist.
"Well that Korean place you mentioned is unfortunately closed today," Ophelia admitted, belly fluttering at how close she was to him. "But there is this place that sells sushi on a conveyor belt. I have always wanted to go there. Y-you okay with that?"
"Sure! Lead de way!"
"Awesome," she shakily exhaled. "Just a couple of blocks away from here!"
Dear Lord, how the hell am I gonna make it through this date?!?
***
'Kappa Pond Sushi' stood at the corner of a busy intersection, where people hustled to work, shopping, social events, or the next tourist trap. The wooden blinds were drawn partially to block out the glaring sun from blinding the patrons through the windows.
The lunch rush had only started, several of the tables taken by customers, their voices a mild murmur over the distant din of the kitchen and the music over the speakers. No one looked up at the fresh faces, too engrossed in their conversations or cell phones.
Finn and Ophelia found a table away from the windows, a booth tucked towards the back. A white touchpad sat at one end of the table with the condiments, napkins, and cutlery, ready to accept orders. The server (Connie, the nametag read) came over quickly, getting their order for an ice water each, before hustling away to get them.
"So you just pick what you want and then this conveyor belt will send the plates to us?" Ophelia asked, gesturing to the little shelf a foot above their booth.
"Mmhm," Finn hummed. "And when yer done, just slide the li'l plates down the slot here." He pointed out a metal area of the table, a chute that emptied into a bin the staff would collect for washing.
She nodded in appreciation. "Neat." Her gaze dropped back to the touchscreen, tapping the arrows to look at the choices. "God everything looks good."
"Yeah, it does! Doesn' help when yer already hungry!"
Ophelia giggled, nodding her head in agreement. "Hmmm, the fried rice looks pretty good, so I'll get that." She tapped at the item, the order off to the kitchen. "Maybe some of that seared beef too." She noticed an option for sashimi, her nose crinkling at the picture of the pink, uncooked meat upon the rice.
"Ye alright?" Finn asked, one eyebrow quirked up. Connie came back with their drinks, setting them down on the table. He quickly nodded at her before turning back to Ophelia.
"Yeah, I just glanced at the sashimi and..." she stuck her tongue out, shaking her head. "Raw sushi just squicks me out. Worried I'll get food poisoning."
"It's fresh fish though," he pointed out. "Yer less likely te get salmonella when it's fresh and stored properly."
Ophelia's head tilted to one side. "That so?"
"Had plenty of sushi myself when I wrestled in Japan."
She grimaced, forgetting about that fact. "R-right."
"Tell ye what. I can get a couple li'l plates and ye can try one bite from it. Ye don't like it, no big deal."
She nodded in agreement. It's only a taste. And at least it's per small plate here.
With their selections made and sent to the kitchen, the pair sat back in their seats. Ophelia reached for her glass of water, taking a long sip, and shuddering at the biting chill from it.
"So how's life been treatin' ya?" Finn asked, arms crossed at his stomach.
She set her glass down. "It's been pretty well. I mean..." Ophelia paused, her mind short-circuiting as she tried to figure out what to say next.
Finn's lips quirked up a bit at how shy she was acting. Her auburn hair was down, the lightest of waves going past her bust; the necklace sparkling from the lights above them.
She really is a shy li'l pet, isn't she? Balor asked. The memory of her crouched and trembling upon the floor in the locker room the first time they met flickered through, followed by her pinned beneath his body, fucking her silly-
Dat's enough Balor, Finn scolded the demon, turning his focus back on the young woman across from him.
"Nothing's been really going on at my work, and I've been trying to watch some more old wrestling matches online whenever I can. Get some more knowledge about it, you know?" Ophelia grimaced, not sure if he understood what she was trying to say.
Finn took the plates down from the belt. "Fried rice and seared beef," he said, setting the plates down in front of Ophelia. "And some rolls fer me!" The covers were taken off of the plates, the aroma of freshly cooked food floating around them as they grabbed their chopsticks.
Well, more like Finn tucked into his California rolls while Ophelia looked around for an employee with a sheepish look on her face.
"Lookin' for something?" Finn asked, covering his mouth as he chewed then swallowed a roll.
"Y-yeah, I'm gonna need a fork..." she trailed off, curling her shoulders as if to shrink into herself. "I'm not the savviest with chopsticks."
"It's rather easy, luv. I can teach ye." He got up from his seat and moved to sit next to Ophelia, hips touching.
Her brain started to short-circuit at how close he was, but the static cleared as she focused on his voice.
"Just hold one like this." He held the end of one stick between the crook of his thumb and pointer fingers and then the middle part between his middle and ring fingers. "Ye need to keep dis still, so not-ing falls out."
"Okay..." Ophelia murmured, following his instructions.
"Jus' like dat!" Finn praised, bobbing his head.
Her belly fluttered at the proud tone of his voice.
"Now the second ye hold between yer thumb and pointer and move dat te grab food."
She put it where he instructed, her hand a bit tense from clenching them. She tried to move the top chopstick, the end crossing over the bottom and feeling as if it might slip.
"Eh, try not te cross 'em. The food'll slip out if ye do. And ye gotta keep 'em even with each ot'er too." He moved to sit back across from Ophelia. "It takes quite a bit of practice, but ye do get the hang of it eventually."
Ophelia tried to pick up a piece of beef, but her chopsticks crossed, and the food plopped down on the table. She made a frustrated whine. Dammit...
"Would you like a fork dear?" Connie asked, a sympathetic look on her face.
"Yes please," she muttered, looking crestfallen.
"No need to be embarrassed, honey. You're not the first to ask for a fork here!" The server trotted off.
Ophelia picked up the beef and placed it back on the little pile of rice it was on. "So, uh," she trailed off, trying to make things a little less awkward. "How are your rolls, Finn?"
"Really good!" He polished off his last roll, moving on to his second plate. What looked like a thin slice of raw salmon atop a pile of sushi rice, two of each next to each other on the little plate.
"So what's that?" she asked.
"This is salmon nigiri" Finn told her. "It's raw, but like I said. If it's fresh, ye shouldn't get sick."
Connie came back and placed a fork and thin napkin next to Ophelia. She nodded a quick thank you, taking her fork in hand and spearing her beef and putting it into her mouth.
She hummed in delight at how delicious it was. "Maybe I'll try that later. I just want to eat this before it gets cold!"
"No problem!" Finn popped one salmon nigiri into his mouth, setting his chopsticks down and picking up the tablet. He tapped a couple of times upon the screen before setting it down. "Just got some edamame and eel nigiri fer me."
Ophelia hummed around a mouthful of fried rice. The garlicky flavor tasted wonderful in her mouth, as she contemplated what to get next. Maybe the shrimp tempura or crispy chicken next...
Finn watched the young woman shovel large forkfuls of fried rice into her mouth quickly, far more adept at using a fork than the chopsticks. She's really hungry right now!
Perhaps she could swallow my cock just as well, the demon teased.
Balor, no, Finn warned. Ye had yer fun last night already.
The demon lightly growled at the scolding. Yer curious too, aren't ye? How much she can take down her dainty li'l throat and how pretty she would look with my seed drippin' down her chin.
Finn could feel the blood rushing below his belt, and he cursed at the demon in his mind, who only laughed.
"Finn?" Ophelia asked, noticing his blue eyes staring off, unfocused.
No response.
"Finn?" she said his name a little louder.
He finally jolted back to reality. "Sorry. What is it?"
"Your food is here." She pointed at the little plates in front of him, their covers already off.
"Ah, thank you." Finn picked up his chopsticks to tuck into the edamame.
"Were you speaking to Balor by any chance?" Ophelia asked, picking up the tablet to order her next plates.
Finn sighed. "Yeah, he was gettin' a bit randy regardin' ye."
She shook her head and chuckled. "How in the world do you even deal with him?" She tapped the screen for crispy chicken and more of the seared beef.
"Eh, I manage. It's been five years since he took hold o' me and there are still some days when he wants te be in charge." Another bite of edamame into his mouth, then he brought one hand up to cover his mouth as he chewed. "Been a lot of compromisin' on when he can come out over time."
"Like certain matches?"
He nodded, getting a sip of water. "Can't be all de time since it would not be as special. He loves te fight, prove himself the strongest, but he's had to learn patience and restraint. Two words demons aren't keen on!"
Ophelia nodded and hummed. "So..." she trailed off, figuring out how to phrase her next question. "I guess he's also had to learn patience and restraint in terms of... y'know." She looked around to make sure no one was walking by then leaned in closer and whispered "Sex?"
Finn sucked in air through his teeth. "Yeah. Very much an alpha compared to me outside de ring."
The robotic voice thanking them for their order sounded, followed by her food plates coasting to a stop. He moved to pick them up, but Ophelia stood to grab them too.
"I got it, thanks!" she chirped, waving her hands in front of her.
Finn sat back down with a smile and nod, watching her get her food and then tucking into the crispy chicken. He could hear the crunch of the breading, and her moaning in delight at the taste.
"Really good, huh?"
"Amazing! You want a bite?"
Finn put one hand up and shook his head with a smile. "No thanks." He picked up his chopsticks and got to eating his eel nigiri.
The two ate in silence for a couple minutes, enjoying the food before ordering a third round each from the tablet. Ophelia finally caved and got some salmon nigiri to try for herself along with something called "Harajuku Summer Salad," that contained large chunks of watermelon and cucumber.
"Now you said Balor was more of an alpha," she said, resuming the conversation that was paused. "That's gotta be a bit of a pain, right?"
"Yeah," Finn drawled. "Not everyt'ing's tough though. Balor's gotten me te open up." He ended that last sentence with a wink.
A small smile crossed her lips, her brows raised, the implication not lost on her. "I-if you don't mind me asking, how so?"
The chime announcing their food went off. Ophelia rolled her eyes at the timing, grabbing her plates. "I swear the kitchen's trying to cockblock us," she muttered.
Her date laughed, grabbing his own plates: garlic shrimp and miso soup. "But at least de food's comin' quickly!"
She hummed at that, taking her chopsticks in hand. "Let's see if I can do this right," she breathed out. Positioning them like Finn showed her earlier, she moved them towards one nigiri upon her plate. The ends of her chopsticks grazed the morsel, a couple grains of sushi rice falling onto her plate. A quick glance showed that her bottom chopstick wasn't quite secure.
In the crook of his thumb, Ophelia recalled, picturing Finn's large hand holding it with practiced ease. She tucked the handle in as so, feeling how much more secure it felt. Now move the top one and don't crossed them...
The ends rested upon both sides of the nigiri.
Ophelia lifted it up.
Finn's face brightened at her little victory.
Ophelia popped the whole piece into her mouth, the cool salmon mixing with the vinegary taste of the sushi rice. Her brow furrowed a little bit as she finished chewing and swallowed.
"Not sure about de taste?" Finn asked.
She nodded, putting her chopsticks down. Her hand felt a little cramped after trying to hold them perfectly, and she moved her fingers around to loosen them. "Interesting taste, that's for sure," she murmured, clucking her tongue. "Think I'll stick to cooked seafood thought."
Finn shrugged, plucking the last piece from the plate with his own chopsticks. "No shame in it. Glad you tried it though!"
Ophelia let a small smile light up her face, before she turned to her little salad. "M-me too," she mumbled, spearing a piece of watermelon with her fork. It was so juicy, melting sweetly upon her tongue.
As he ate, Finn could see her cheeks still slightly flushed and her green eyes glued to her food. Wonder if she likes te be praised?
I could 'ear her heart beatin' faster when ye taught her te use de chopsticks earlier, Balor pointed out. And when she moaned last night, unafraid te let others hear...
Finn's lips pursed at this bit of information. Interestin' te know... He focused back on his date, who was licking her lips of all the juices from her little salad.
"So you said that Balor had gotten you to 'open up' more," Ophelia said, dropping her empty bowl down the chute. "How so?"
He blew upon a spoonful of miso soup, before slurping it up. "Well I did gain an appreciation fer slightly risky sex."
"Right down to the point..." she murmured.
Finn chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, but in practice only in de locker room! Not goin' out and getting freaky in de middle of a park!"
"I can't imagine that would go over well with the higher ups at the WWE!" Her throat dried a little, recalling that first time they were together, and she took another sip of water. "I guess um, watching videos of public stuff-" she winked at that phrase. "You're down for?"
"If Balor wasn't clawin' te leap out, I would!"
Ophelia shook her head at that. "Gets him riled up, huh?"
"Oh yes! Y'ave no idea how quickly dat can happen..." Finn grimaced a little. "And of course he prefers bein' rough with his partners."
She smiled and blushed, her core pulsing at the thought as she tapped out another order for herself. "I guess you aren't like that normally?"
Finn shook his head. "I'm much gentler in bed. More of a switch if ye will. He prefers being in control of his partner pinnin' 'em down and..."
"I-I get your point..." She held up a hand to stop that line of thought, before her panties started to get soaked. "It must be a bit odd, having someone else take over your body and you're just..." Ophelia grimaced as she searched for the right word to use.
"Ridin' shotgun?" he suggested, taking a bite of shrimp.
"Yeah." She nodded. "Like, do you feel everything he does?"
Finn nodded, smirking.
Ophelia hunched her shoulders, gaze moving to the conveyor belt. "So I guess last night, you were also feeling everything too?" Her voice was meek.
"I was. Fell asleep wonderin' about ye, den Balor flew off fer a visit." His eyelids lowered, gaze smoldering. "Even just the phantom feelings of bein' inside ye felt amazing..." The smirk on his face grew more devilish, the demon within proudly purring at how much his pet was quivering.
Chills raced up and down her figure, drowning deeper into his blue eyes as they grew darker with lust. She could swear the markings of Balor's form were starting to bleed into shape upon his throat-
The chime heralding the food went off, snapping Ophelia back to reality as she shakily reached up for her second bowl of fried rice.
"Y'alright?" Finn asked, blinking. The demon huffed in annoyance at being interrupted but did nothing otherwise.
She let out a long, deep breath. "J-just so, so..." she trailed off, putting her head in one hand. "Antsy. Like, I've been this way since you contacted me earlier about lunch. Don't get me wrong, it's great seeing you in person again! I-it's..." her mouth closed, shaking her head at how hard it was to convey her thoughts. A strangled groan reverberated from her throat, trapped behind her lips.
"Yer worried about how de future will be?" he hazarded, reaching out to place a hand on her shoulder.
Ophelia jolted at the sudden contact, before sighing. "Mm-hm. I mean we didn't have a really conventional first meeting..." she let out a shaky laugh. "And it's been so hard for me to figure out what to talk to you about without seeming like a ring rat or a stalker. I mean the Legos were easy, since it's well known you like them, but I don't know what else to say beyond that. Then there's the thoughts of what if someone finds out about this and harasses me, is this just a "friends with benefits" kinda thing, how the hell do I..."
Her brain started to shut down, the thoughts unable to leave through her lips. "I..." That exasperated groan finally escaped her, letting her head fall upon the table, cushioned by her arms.
Fingertips lightly trailed along her hairline, making her shudder. She could feel tears starting to prickle at the corners of her eyes, the coolness of the tabletop barely soothing her warm face.
"My poor pet," Finn cooed, the lightest traces of Balor's growl creeping in as he kept stroking her face. He took his hand away, pulling Ophelia's glass closer to her. "Why don't ye take a drink."
Breathing out, she lifted her head and took a long drink. The glass was nearly empty by the time she set it back down and turned to look at Finn again.
"Ye remember what I told ye the first night, while we were cleanin' up? Dat I didn't want to leave ye feelin' like dis meant nothin'?"
Ophelia nodded.
"I still feel de same way. I enjoy hearin' from folks about their days, even just de trivial things. Not gonna lie, not hearin' from ye all dat often was a bummer these past few months and I do wish ye told me how ye were feelin'. I would have tried my damndest te help out wit' sortin' yer emotions. I'd drop everyt'ing and come to ye as quickly as I can."
She swallowed hard, a little teardrop trickling out before she wiped it away.
"Even if ye just need a physical release, there's always the DMs for some fun." He winked at the allusion. "I know it's not de same as me actually being there, but it is something. Point is, ye don't have to be afraid to reach out. Okay?"
Ophelia gave him a small smile. "Okay."
"Atta girl," Finn praised. "Ye look better with that pretty li'l smile on yer face."
I prefer de look on her face when she's drunk on my cock, Balor cheekily replied.
Dammit Balor. His face fell as he rolled his eyes.
"Did Balor ruin the moment?" Ophelia joked, finally digging into her rice.
"Said he preferred your "oh" face," he muttered, eating the last piece of shrimp on his plate with a grimace.
She snorted, coughing a bit as the rice went down the wrong pipe. Once she caught her breath she asked, "Even after last night, he's still frisky, huh?"
"I said before, once he gets goin' it's on!" Finn laughed, shaking his head.
Connie came to the table with a pitcher to refill their glasses. He murmured his thanks at her before he continued. "He's much hornier den I am typically," he said once the server was out of earshot.
"Guess hearing me say something about using a toy inspired by him made him feel challenged?"
His lips pursed together, trying not to laugh out loud. "Ye actually do, huh?"
Ophelia cocked her head to the side. "Do what?"
"Ye actually have a toy inspired by Balor?"
Her face dropped, letting out a shaky breath. "Yeah, I do. It's one of those fantasy toys where you can choose the colors, so I got it in marbled red and black. Not really the same compared to actually having someone there, y'know?"
Finn nodded in agreement, a cat-like smile on his face. "Ye ought te show me one day..."
The demon within snarled at the thought of his pet using a toy instead of his own cock.
"M-maybe sure!" Ophelia stammered. She turned her attention back to the rest of her rice, quickly finishing it off before dropping the bowl down the chute.
Finn turned back to the rest of his food, polishing it off as she looked through the menu on the tablet for something else to eat. Her belly was starting to reach the point of contentment, though she did want to try one last thing of sushi before leaving.
"Maybe a couple things of the shrimp nigiri," Ophelia muttered, tapping on the item. "Least that looks like it's cooked." She moved to the desserts, eyes brightening as she tapped upon 'Soy Milk Donuts'. "Think this'll be my last round of food," she said aloud.
"Getting full?" Finn asked, taking the tablet for himself. "Ye get dessert at least?"
"Yeah, the donuts looked really good! Also got some shrimp nigiri, just to be sure if sushi is for me."
"'kay den," he muttered, looking through the dessert options. "What te get, what te get..." His fingers danced above the choices for mochi and taiyaki ice cream, torn between the two. "Ah, I'll just get both."
"Both of what?" Ophelia asked, head tilted to the side.
"Taiyaki ice cream and mochi."
"What kind of mochi?"
"Black sesame and matcha green tea. Eart'y and nutty flavors combined!"
She pursed her lips. "Not my thing, but I hope they come out well!"
Finn nodded smiling. "Ye tried de salmon nigiri, so why not some matcha mochi?"
She shrugged. "Got me there. I tend to gravitate towards sweet stuff, so I haven't really given earthier foods a whirl much."
"W'at about mochi? Ever had it before?"
"I think the one time I had it, my friend didn't seal the bag well and it was dried out. So, yeah, I had it before. Just not an ideal piece!"
"Least yer in de right place den!"
Ophelia nodded, one corner of her mouth in a partial smile. Now that her mind was set at ease, she felt lighter and more relaxed mentally compared to the beginning of their lunch date.
"So are you able to share what's coming up for you in the ring?" she asked.
"'m actually takin' a break fer a couple weeks. But I wanted te at least visit ye fer a bit!"
Her head cocked to the side, her full lips in a little smile. "Guess you won't tell me what's up next?" Ophelia's head moved back up, eyes narrowing and smile growing in a cat-like expression. "Is the Demon King coming out to play?"
Balor purred at the playful tone in his pet's voice, coiled and ready to pounce upon her once they were alone.
Finn shook his head. "Not fer a while. Not'ing in de storyline to justify his appearance right now."
The demon huffed in frustration within his host's head. MUST ye remind me about dat?!?
The chimes sounded once again as the food slid forward before his host could confirm that yes, Balor would have to be patient until he could come out once more. Finn grabbed the plates and set them down on the table, popping one piece of mochi into his mouth before sitting back down.
"So what's with that big fish?" Ophelia asked, pointing to one of his plates. Golden brown with a face, scales and fins etched into the batter, it looked to be leaping up from the container housing a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a blob of dark red sauce.
"It's filled with red bean paste," Finn explained, grabbing the little spoon perched on the tiny dish.
She shrugged, picking up one of her donuts; it was dusted with the lightest coating of sugar, the warm batter sticking to her fingertips. She took a dainty bite, moaning at the sweet taste and the morsel melting upon her tongue. "Oh my God, this is so good..."
Balor tensed up at her voice, growls rumbling from his chest.
Ophelia popped the remainder into her mouth lapping at the sugar left behind on her fingertips, green eyes glittering.
The demon's blood rushed down to his cock, aching to rail her into a babbling mess when they were alone.
Finn sighed deeply, biting off the dorsal fin of his fish pastry. Chill out, would ye? He scolded.
The demon hissed, curling upon the floor like a disgruntled cat. At least ask her if she wants te go back to de hotel room den, he demanded.
No promises.
Balor pouted but kept silent.
His pet saw his host's eyes grow darker as they conversed silently. She shook her head, rolling her eyes as she figured the demon was acting up once more. "Such a baby," she chuckled.
"Ye say something?" Finn asked, his eyes lightening back to their normal blue.
"Just saying that Balor sounds like such a baby. This is what, the third or fourth time he's acted out?" Ophelia picked up one of the shrimp nigiri in her chopsticks, popping it into her mouth until only the tail stuck out from her lips.
Like one would stick out a tongue in teasing.
The demon in question snarled. We'll see who's cryin' more when I sink my cock into ye later!
"Dunno if he's a 'baby'," Finn said, ignoring Balor's rage. "So much as..." he trailed off, trying to rack his brain for the right words.
"Paranoid about being weak?" Ophelia suggested.
He shrugged. "Pro'bly. I said earlier he loves te fight and prove himself te be the strongest. Even when I've lost matches as de Demon King, Balor is clawin' te come out and beat 'em."
Her eyes widened; brows raised at this bit of information. "Wait, you've lost matches as the Demon King?"
"Oh yeah, te Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns on different occasions."
Balor bared his teeth at the memories of these losses. Whose idea was it fer de ropes te collapse while we fought de Tribal Chief?!?
"Well I guess you can't have him win all the time since that wouldn't be much fun for the fans," Ophelia said, popping another donut into her mouth.
Finn murmured in agreement with that, eating the rest of his fish pastry and ignoring Balor's ranting about his losses.
The two finished their last plates in relative silence, with Ophelia finally trying a piece of matcha mochi ("not bad," she concluded) and using her chopsticks to eat the remaining shrimp nigiri. One of them nearly fell to the floor after she crossed them, but thankfully she was able to catch it in time.
Her cheeks glowed when Finn praised her for her quick reflexes.
Once the plates were sent down the chute for cleaning, Finn reached into his pocket for his wallet and took out his credit card to pay.
"I-I can pay for my share!" Ophelia stammered out, touching Finn's wrist before he could tap on the button to pay.
"It's okay pet, I got dis!" he reassured her. "I invited ye out after all."
She withdrew her hand, moving to take one last drink of water. "Are you sure?" she meekly asked.
He scanned his card, tapping out the options for tips and confirming it all. "Of course! I don't mind treatin' ye like dis!"
Ophelia pursed her lips, her heart fluttering at his generosity. "I-if you insist then," she said. "Think I'll definitely come back here." Her voice was perked up to mask her hesitancy.
"If ye do, lemme know if ye try anymore sushi!" Finn added as he stood.
She stood up too, grabbing Finn's outstretched hand before walking out of the restaurant.
***
"So... what now?" she asked once they walked a way's away.
"Well, I'm on vacation like I said, so how 'bout ye show me where ye work?"
"The art museum? I only work in the gift shop, but I guess we could go there!"
Finn drew her closer to his side. "Gladly." His voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper. "Plus, it'll be fun to rile Balor up!"
Balor growled, rolling his eyes.
"Trying to get back at him for speaking out?" Ophelia asked, smiling.
He nodded, laughing. "He's gotta learn patience too!"
The couple cracked up, walking on as the demon within pouted at having to wait.
"Sex is easy, feelings are hard." That was what Bucky Barnes said in one Avengers fanfiction I read. And boy was it true when penning this! I was pretty much doing this in short bursts whenever I could so that I wasn't just staring at an incomplete Word document.
I do want to give a shout out to Kura Sushi's website for helping me inspire the food our couple ate for lunch and giving me visual references too. I haven't really eaten any sushi, but man does the food look good! Hopefully I can visit one of the locations they have up in Northern Virginia.
Asuka's video of her visit to one California location also sparked the idea for having the date be at a sushi restaurant. (While you're at it, please go check out her YouTube channel - it's so precious!)
Comments and constructive criticism are welcome. Thanks for reading! *bows*

graduation day
fem!reader x finn balor
Finn is reader’s English professor. He's spent the semester doing everything he can to make sure he doesn't do anything deemed inappropriate to her. Little does he know that reader feels the same way. The day of graduation, reader stops by Finn's office and the two confess how they've been feeling .... "is this what you want?" & "i've never wanted anyone to fuck me this bad before."
Tumblr media
word count: 3k+
warnings: smut, a brief student/teacher relationship, sex in a semi-public area (office)
— enjoy this that i wrote at 3 am bc i was bored and couldn’t sleep .... idk what made me even think of this honestly. maybe it’s the thought of finn in a suit, idk .... there also could be a part two to this, i may need to think about it tho —
masterlist || part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 || request an imagine here
~ 18+ content below - read at your own risk ~
You've always found your English professor attractive. He's made the school day bearable. Everyday at 3 pm, you'd walk into that classroom and everything would instantly feel better for that hour long class.
When he would teach, you would look at how his muscles looked in his shirt or how well his pants hugged his butt. He'd notice you looking at him but never thought anything of it because he thought you were just paying attention to the subject of the day.
Finn's always found you quite attractive as well. You've made his school day exciting. Everyday at 3 pm, you'd walk into that classroom and his day would instantly get better for that hour or so of class. After he'd assign his students their work, he'd always sneak glances at you.
You had noticed these glances but never thought anything of them because he occasionally glanced up to make sure everyone was doing their work.
It was graduation day today. Your white gown and cap hang in your car as you pulled up to campus. You hoped that Mr. Balor would be here. He'd told his students on the last day of classes that he'd be in his office from noon until 3 on graduation day to make sure everyone's grades were okay or if anyone needed to talk about how nervous they were to be graduating college.
It was 2:45 when you parked your car in your usual parking spot in the student parking lot. No one was here on campus. It was practically empty. Everyone wouldn't be arriving until five or six for the scheduled seven o'clock graduation ceremony. Only faculty members wandered around campus, packing up the last few things from their offices no doubt.
You got out of your car and checked the time again on your phone. 2:47 pm. The English building was at least a five minute walk from the parking lot. You'd just barely make it.
So you ran. In your white three inch heels you'd decided to wear to graduation. The skirt on your white dress you decided to wear under your gown was flaring out as you ran toward the English building. You pressed your hands down on the skirt so nothing would be revealed to any onlookers. You were terrified that you would pop out of the dress too as the neck dipped very low, revealing a lot of your cleavage. The dress looked a lot like the famous white Marylyn Monroe dress, just a lot shorter and the neck was more lowcut.
Finn was wrapping up in his office as you made your way across the large campus. He finished filing the last papers he had to and he turned off his computer. He leaves his office to run down to the teacher's lounge area to clear out his things from that room.
You check the time again when you arrive to the doors of the English building. 2:52 pm.
You'd been to this building so many times. The classroom you looked forward to coming to everyday was located in this building. His office was located two floors above the classroom.
You take the stairs, running up to the fourth floor.
As you walk down the hallway of the office floor, you check each room's name plate as you walk by, looking for the "Mr. Finn Balor. English Professor" name plate on the door.
One room door was open. You approach it and look at the name plate on the wooden door.
Mr. Finn Balor. English Professor.
You swalllowed, walking into the medium sized room.
Everything was neatly packed away. Everything filed. Computer off. His supplies were neatly placed on his corner desk that took up about 25% of the space in the room. His jacket hung on the back of his desk chair. The backpack full of summer work sat on the black leather love seat that faced the desk on the other side of the room. The door marked the halfway point between the desk and the love seat. Two book selves were placed opposite the wooden door. The medium sized room had a cozy feeling to it.
You had never come to his office before. You were too scared. Scared that something would happen and he would know about your little crush that you've had on him since day one of class in January.
Finn noticed this. How you'd never ask for an appointment or stop by his office for a question. Your grades were excellent and that's why he assumed you never stopped by.
You wait a few minutes in his office to see if he had gone somewhere and will come back. 3 pm approaches and your hopes diminish. He probably left.
You let out a defeated sigh as you make the decision to leave.
As you walk out the door, you physically run into something. Not something. Someone.
"Miss L/N," the all too familiar Irish accent said. "Nice of ya to stop by. I was just thinking about ya."
You finally meet Mr. Balor's too blue eyes and you ask, "You were?"
He nods and walks around you into his office. You swallow nervously as you stand in the doorway and watch as he places a box full of objects on the large desk. "I was hopin' to get to see ya before the ceremony," he says. "I'm glad ya are here."
"Why's that?" you ask curiously, walking into the center of the room.
Mr. Balor looks over at you before he says, "I wanted to congratulate ya on your big day and because ya passed Honors English with flyin' colors. Ya should be very proud of yourself, Miss L/N."
You say, "Thank you, Mr. Balor."
He blinks at you before he says, "Ya graduate today, Y/N. Let's stop with the formalities, shall we? Call me Finn."
"Finn," you echo, trying to get his first name to sound more familiar than foreign. Calling your professor by his first name is not something you had done during the semester.
Finn smiles as you say his name. "So, Y/N," he says, dropping all professionalism. "What brings ya to my office on graduation day? I know it's not to talk about grades."
You shake your head and say, "No, it's not."
He packs a few pictures on his desk away into the box he'd just brought into the room as he asks, "So what do I owe the pleasure?"
Nervously, you say, "I wanted to come talk to you, um, about how I've been feeling for a while."
The packing stops as Finn looks up at you. "Nervous about graduation?" he asks.
You rub the back of your neck and say, "Not really."
"What's going on?" Finn asks, leaning back on his desk. He crosses his arms over his chest and his ankles.
The light grey button-up shirt Finn is wearing is tighter than usual and accentuates his arm muscles when he does this simple movement. It's tucked into his black dress pants. The first few buttons are unbuttoned. He's dressed somewhat casually.
You say, "I graduate today. In about four hours, I will no longer be your student and you will no longer be my teacher."
Finn nods along as you speak. "That's correct," he says.
Before you say anything else, you quickly run your fingers through your Y/H/C color curls. "I thought that now would a good time as any to tell you that over the semester, I've developed some feelings for you and I find you very attractive," you blurt out, trying to speak as slow as you can but it still comes out as a mess.
He's caught off guard by that statement. In that one sentence, he's realized that when he thought you were paying attention to the content on the board, you were looking at him. He's realized that you never came by his office was because of your crush on him. He's realized that you feel the same way that he does about you.
You watch as Finn lets out a sigh of relief and you tilt your head in confusion. "I'm so happy that you said that," Finn says. "Because I've been feeling the same way."
That's when you realize that the glances he's been stealing from you all semester were because he felt the same way. He could never keep his eyes off of you while you concentrated on your work.
A smile forms on your lips as you look at your soon to be former professor.
Finn smiles at you as he walks over, closing the door in case anyone was around.
"It has killed me over the past four months to be your teacher," he says as he approaches you.
You look up at him and ask, "And why is that, Mr. Balor."
He smiles and says, "Because it's prevented me from doing this." He leans down and lightly presses his lips to yours.
You've envisioned kissing Finn a bunch of times, his his soft kiss exceeds all your expectations.
As your lips move against Finn's slowly, you drop your arms. You hadn't realized that you crossed them over your very exposed chest while having that conversation with Finn.
The light kiss continues for a second before Finn pulls away and looks down at you. Even in heels, you're about five inches shorter that Finn's five foot eleven frame.
"Ya look absolutely stunning in that dress, Y/N," Finn says, complimenting you.
Your face turns a light red as you say, "You don't look too bad yourself, Finn. Is that what you're wearing to the ceremony tonight?"
He shakes his head and says, "I had a suit I was going to wear tonight but now, I don't think I'll be wearing it."
"Why won't you be wearing it?" you ask.
Finn says, "Because if ya think I'm going anywhere right now, you're crazy. I won't have time to go get the suit from my place and make it back here on time for the ceremony."
You glance at the time on the clock in the office. It's close to 3:30 now. You look back at Finn and say, "There's still about two hours before everyone starts to arrive for the ceremony. There's plenty of time to kill."
His eyes scan you as he says, "I plan on killing every second."
In one movement, his lips are back on yours. This time, they move more harshly and passionately than they did the first time. Your hands fly to cup Finn's face.
Finn's hands go to your thighs and he lifts you up, walking you over to his desk and setting you down gently on it. His tongue makes its way into your mouth as the kiss intensifies.
You find your fingers on the buttons of Finn's button-up after you pull the shirt up to untuck it from the waistband of his pants. Your fingers work to undo each button quickly but carefully.
He shrugs off the shirt and your hands run up and down his toned chest and abs. Finn's fingers are under the skirt of your dress as you kick off your heels. The digits slowly slide up your thighs, closer to your throbbing core. You are aching for him, just like you have all semester. Except now, you'll get the satisfaction of his fingers instead of yours.
The thought of Finn's fingers inside of you is enough to make you wet. Well, wetter than you already are. The white colored panties you're wearing are probably ruined at this point.
Finn's free hand works at sliding the sleeves of your dress off your shoulders. The fabric falls, exposing your breasts to Finn.
He pulls back from the kiss to look at your exposed chest. "So beautiful," he mutters under his breath. "All mine."
Finn pushes you back on his desk and stands between your legs as he starts to kiss and suck on each breast. You let out soft sighs as your core starts to pulsate again.
You need Finn to touch you before you explode.
"Finn," you gasp.
He looks up at you with his eyes and he asks, "Something wrong, my love?"
You swallow and say, "I need you to touch me. Down there. Please"
Finn crouches down in front of his desk between your legs. "Of course," he says, pushing your skirt up to expose your panties. "Already so wet for me."
"Only for you," you sigh as Finn runs a finger over your clothed core.
He takes the waistband of your pantie in his fingers and pulls them down slowly, almost teasingly. He sees just how wet you are. Your folds are soaked with arousal.
Finn kisses your thighs and says, "I've always wondered what you've tasted like."
You throw your legs over Finn's shoulder and say, "I want your tongue. Please." Desperation is laced in your voice.
He smirks and runs his tongue slowly through your folds. You gasp and smile. He sucks on your clit for a second before swirling his tongue around it. You feel him push a finger inside of you, making you moan softly. Finn moves the digit slowly, teasing you.
You reach down and run your fingers through Finn's short hair as his finger speeds up. He soon adds a second finger. He stands back up, hovering over you as he fingers you. You're a moaning mess beneath Finn's touch.
Finn kisses your neck gently as he moves his fingers a little faster. Your body jerks under his touch occasionally as you're pulled closer and closer to your pending orgasm.
"Ya taste so good," Finn says against your neck. "And ya take my fingers so well."
Your fingers run up and down his back lightly as he speeds up his fingers, adding a third one. You gasp and moan as his fingers move inside of you.
Right as you're about to reach your orgasm, Finn pulls his fingers out and you whine. He sucks on the three digits he had inside of you before he says, "Get on your knees for me, my love."
You nod and get off the desk. You get on your knees in front of Finn. You reach up and start to undo the button on his pants. You pull down the article of clothing and run your finger over Finn's hard member. You free him from his boxers. You're shocked by the size of Finn's member. You knew he was packing but not this much.
You take Finn in your hand and pump him a few times before you take him in your mouth. You start slow and shallow before eventually taking most of him in your mouth. You move your head, sucking occasionally. Finn starts to thrust into your mouth as saliva drips down your chin.
Finn groans softly as you suck him off, but it's not long before he stands you up and his lips are on yours. You push the dress off your body, stepping out of it.
He turns you around so your butt is pressed against his erect member. He gropes your breasts and kisses your neck. You gasp and moan as his member runs through your folds.
You're bent over the desk and Finn spreads your legs apart. "Is this what ya  want?" he asks.
"I've never wanted anyone to fuck me this bad before," you admit.
That's all Finn needs to hear before he pushes himself into you. You grasp onto the desk as he pulls out, only to thrust hard into you again, making you moan.
Finn's trusts are hard and deep from the beginning. He's waited a while for this moment, and so have you. He's not going to be gentle with you.
You pull your left leg up onto the desk and hold it, giving Finn more access. He thrusts harder and harder, making you moan loudly.
When Finn finds your g-spot, you let him know immediately. "Oh, Finn," you gasp. "Right there." He starts slamming into the spot over and over again, making you moan louder and louder.
After a few moments of this, Finn stands you up and turns you around, laying you on your back across the desk. He thrusts harder into this time and his lips are on your neck. You gasp and moan as he moves.
One of Finn's fingers rubs your clit as he thrusts hard into you.
You lift Finn's head up and kiss him roughly. Your tongues battle for dominance and his hand rests around your throat.
A thin layer of sweat has formed on both your bodies as he continues moving.
Your walls begin to clench around Finn and he pulls back from the kiss, resting his forehead on yours. "Come with me, princess," he says, out of breath.
"Tell me when," you gasp.
After a few more seconds of movement, Finn says, "Now."
The two of you come together. You let out soft moans and whines as Finn helps you ride out your climax. He collapses on top of you. The two of you sloppily kiss for a few seconds before detaching from each other.
Both you and Finn get dressed but the kissing and touching doesn't stop. You make your way to the love seat, where you lay and makeout with Finn until six.
He walks out of the building with you and walks you to your car. Other seniors have begun arriving by this time.
Finn says, "Come by my house around nine tonight. I'll show ya a real celebration then."
You stand in front of Finn and look up at him. "What will this mean for us?" you ask. "Will we get to see each other after I graduate?"
He says, "Let's cross that path once that graduation cap is in the air and you've officially graduated."
You giggle and nod. "I'll come by at nine," you say. "Tell me the address and I'll be there."
Finn tells you his address then says, "See ya when ya walk across the stage."
"I can't wait."

Seth gingerly pulled his black dress shirt over the welts on his back as Violet knelt in front of him petting his face and hair "Feel better, precious one?"
Seth nodded in reply still a little spaced out from the endorphins. Finn entered the room again face clean from the paint that had given his handsome features their demonic appearance.
"So her name is Rebecca?"' he finally spoke
" Yes, she's a little younger than you. I've known her since she was a little girl. We came to America together but she moved down south when she met her former girlfriend, it was right before I met you actually. You just missed each other." Finn explained, "She's going to run the main bar since Jordan decided to return to school full time."
"I think I saw her. Orange-red hair, dressed in yellow and black leather?" Seth says as Finn helped him to his feet
"That would be Rebecca. Miss Rebecca or Miss Becky to you." Violet told him. "That shirt is much too tight to button over your back."
Seth nodded at the unspoken command "I'll keep it open"
Tumblr media
Becky Lynch had not expected to like working at Finn's club after everything Charlotte had put her though because of her hatred of Becky's kinks, but her The Lair was like nothing she'd ever seen during her years as part of the scene. The members of the Lair acted more like a family than any other club she'd ever been a part of. It was surprising how all of them acted around one another despite many of the members' celebrity status, It had been a crazy moment, her when first night working the bar when Mike Mizanin and his wife Maryse just walked up and casually spoke to her, to her surprise the couple were very down to earth and just as funny as they were on their sitcom Miz and Mrs, though she'd wanted to slap Finn for not telling her he had the rich and famous frequenting his club. So far in her month behind the bar, she'd met several MMA fighters, a defensive lineman for the Giants, and she was currently talking to Ember Moon, a New York Times bestselling author. It was all so surreal. The only member of the club Finn ever mentioned was Seth Rollins. Becky had heard a lot about the millionaire CEO in her month at the club. Apparently, he was something of a legend around the Lair. He'd helped Finn get the club off the ground and Finn had introduced the man to the lifestyle. She knew he was at the club tonight but all she'd seen was long dark hair and a fancy suit as he headed into Finn's private domain.
The door to Finn's dungeon finally opened and Finn stepped followed by Violet who was holding on the arm of the man from before now looking much less agitated, fancy black shirt left unbuttoned to reveal a toned chest dotted with scrapes and bruises, and an impressive 6 pack.
Ember whistled from a bar stool off to the side of her "Seeing Sethie's chest is always a treat"
"What CEO looks like that?" Becky wondered aloud " and he's all banged up"
"One who served in the Army for the better part of a decade, including 3 tours of Afghanistan" Ember explained "Seth sometimes takes mercenary missions if they require his specific skill set. He's been gone on one for the last month"
"Wait, wasn't this guy born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth?" Becky looked at the other woman surprised
"Mama Trish….that's Seth's mom, by the way. Well, she may have raised a spoiled brat but he's also got a hero complex a mile wide after what went down with his Dad. Nasty business that was, Seth went into the military right after he graduated High School. Roman and Moxie, Miss Renee's boys? They followed him in. The four of them went to the same ritzy private schools, known each other since they were all little kids. One of my boyfriends was a few years above them. The silver spoon thing is funny though since Seth's middle name is Sterling"
"Hey! Are you mocking my name?" The man in question says in a raspy voice as he walks up to them.
"Your Mama named you Sterling, she cast that die for you already," Ember says hugging Seth after casting a glance at her Dom and getting a nod in answer.
"Sup, Emmy," Seth said taking a seat at the bar.
"Seth, Miss Rebecca. Becky, the Lair's chief pain in the ass." Finn introduced the pair to each other.
Seth rolled his eyes at Finn before smiling at Becky "Pleased to finally meet you Miss Rebecca" he said politely "Seth Rollins" he introduced himself properly
Becky's brain actually stuttered for a second. This man was too damn gorgeous for her own well being, after a moment she internally shook her thoughts back into place and reminded herself she was NOT looking for a new Sub, especially not a buff, tanned millionaire one.
"Be a good Kitten." Violet leaned in and kissed Seth softly "If you can find someone to play with tonight has fun! If not you are welcome to come home with us as always, my darling"
"Yes, Miss Violet. I'm taking the day off tomorrow. Moxie and Ro changed the security codes on the facility and all my work-related computer systems for 24 hours. They locked me out"
"I told them to, Mo Chroi" Finn tells him. "You need a day for yourself. Go to the gym, tend to your plants but you are not allowed near your headquarters until Wednesday understand?"
Seth bowed gracefully "Yes, My Liege"
Finn and Violet swept off to their personal VIP Booth, while Seth settled into his normal spot at the bar to chat with Ember as Becky looked on, laughing at something the tiny African American woman was telling him.
"What do you think my Queen?" Finn asks his wife
"I think they might be exactly what the other needs. Becky already thinks he's cute, I can tell" Violet replied
Tumblr media
Are you okay?" Ember asked Seth seriously after joking around for a few more minutes. "You hardly take on solo missions anymore."
"Favor to one of Mom's country club buddies. Her friend's daughter got snatched while the girl was on a trip with her Dad. Tracked her over there, got her back relatively unharmed" Seth explained succinctly. One of Ember's Doms worked for Seth and had known him for most of his life, Sso she knew more about what he actually did for a living then most of his friends at the club.
"I'm glad. Now imma ask again cause you just tried to derail me. Are YOU okay?" Ember said grabbing the bigger man's shoulders gently and making him look her in the eye.
Becky watched as Seth ducked his head and then rolled his eyes at his friend "I'm better. Majesties worked me over a bit."
"Emmy." A deep midwestern accented voice said as Randy Orton walked back up to the bar. "Time to go. Baron's flight gets here in 2 hours"
"Yes Sir" Ember said lightly, accepting her boyfriend's hand and getting down off the barstool.
"Won't be in till Wednesday Viper, Royal decree." Seth told the older man
"Good. Tired of having to call the Doc in because your stubborn ass don't know when to go the fuck home. See you then, Boss" Randy replied before he and Ember headed out of the Lair, leaving Becky and Seth staring at each other
"Would you like a drink?" Becky asks him "Finn tells me this fancy-ass coffee set up is your doing?"
"I don't really drink, spent too many years trying to find death at the bottom of a whiskey bottle." Seth tells her bluntly "So yeah the fancy-ass coffee set up is for me."
"I'm assuming Finn told you to behave with me? He warned me about you while you were gone" Becky said easily despite being internally taken aback by the lighting fast change in attitude
She watched as Seth visibly took a deep breath "I apologize, Miss Rebecca, Miss Becky?" He said questioningly continuing when the redhead nodded "I apologize for my behavior Miss Becky, I wasn't prepared for Ember to ask about my last job and it was a…..rough one."
"Your forgiven, míshásamh," She said with a small smile that got bigger when Seth tilted his head to the side like a curious puppy "Six years being Finn's friend and sometimes boyfriend has taught me quite a bit of Irish but I don't know that word"
"Maybe, if you're a good boy, I'll tell you," Becky said with a smirk "Now if you want something fancier then a regular coffee, you're gonna have to come back here and make it yourself"
Seth grinned and nimbly leaped over the bar landing to the left of her, letting out a low cackle when she didn't budge "I can do that"

FITMANIA
by Claude T. Hector
In my life, I’ve been a fan of many things. Chief amongst my interest have been superhero comics; fashion; and the world that combines both of those things, Professional Wrestling. I’ve never apologized for my love of wrestling. I find the soap opera and athletic aspects of it very fascinating and I also enjoy the backstage politics fun to follow. Today, I’m here to talk about something we don’t talk enough about when it comes to professional wrestling; the outfits. Specifically the wrestlers’ entrance outfits. I’ve always been captivated with how each made a statement about what each character respresented. Every outfit, from Undertaker’s long duster and black hat to Bret Hart’s skull adorned leather jacket and neon pink shades evokes an emotion. With Wrestlemania upon us this weekend, I’ve decided to list my favorite wrestlers’ entrance outfits.
One rule for this list. Every wrestler on this list has to be a participant in one of the WWE’s events this weekend. Those two events are NXT New York and Wrestlemania proper. This means you won’t be seeing non active members like The Rock, Steve Austin or Shawn Michaels on this list. One more thing, women wrestlers will also be featured. For the first time ever, 3 women wrestlers will be headlining this year’s Wrestlemania and there are many more women blazing trails in the squared circle as of late. There’s no way we’re leaving the ladies off of this list. With all that said, let’s start.
1. Charlotte Flair: Charlotte is the real life daughter of one Ric Flair but her athleticism is easily far superior to her father’s. Shedid manage to keep the parts of her father’s character that we’re the most entertaining though. This includes the “wooooos” and of course the beautiful robes her father made famous.
2. Finn Balor: While Finn Balor’s usual entrance gear of tights, leather jacket and abs is just fine, he really takes it up a notch when entering an arena as his alter ego, The Demon (don’t ask). The demon represents Finn digging into a part of himself that can operate past the limits he regularly operates on and his smoke filled entrance and war paint serves to get into his competitors’ heads. An instant classic transformation.
3. Asuka: Asuka is known as the Empress of Tomorrow to WWE fans and has lived up to the moniker during her tenure. She was the undefeated NXT women’s champion (no one was ready for her). She subsequently relinquished that belt because she got tired of beating up all of those ladies and moved on to the main roster where she went on to be the winner of the first all women’s Royal Rumble match. She also manages to do it all in style by coming to the ring in a series of intricate robes punctuated by her collection of kabuki style masks.
4. The Usos: This one is kind of a cheat but who cares?! The Usos are the definition of glowing up. At the start of their tenure, The Usos were presented as the embodiment of their Samoan heritage for a new generation. They wore bright colors and their high flying in ring style was crowd pleasing for younger wrestling fans. A couple of years ago, they decided it was time for a change. They turned heel (the bad guys) and updated their entrance music to a more in your face trap beat. They even mastered going back and forth in their promos just like the great rap acts of the 90’s. Best of all, they ditched the neon duds and started wearing all black to the ring with crisp Nike Air Force Ones. The Usos are now streetstyle gods and Smackdown Tag Team Champions.
5. Velveteen Dream: It occurs to me now that I have to explain the Velveteen Dream to people...uh...he’s kind of like Prince but he wrestles...Velveteen Dream spent most of last year stealing the show at every NXT event. His ability in the ring is equaled, if not surpassed by his ability to get in his opponents’ heads with his choice of ring gear. Whether it’s putting their likenesses on his tights a la Jake the Snake Roberts or dressing up like a black Hollywood Hogan, the fans are always entertained and he’s always the center of attention.
6. The New Day: If I told you that Vince Mcmahon had decided to put 3 black wrestlers into a faction that started out as wrestling church choir directors, you probably would not believe me, but it’s true! If I also told you that those three wrestlers (Kofi Kingston; Big-E and Xavier Woods) turned that awful gimmick into one of the most popular tag-teams in the company, you also would not believe me, but that is also true. They did through excellent in ring performances, a cereal call Booty-O’s, and a copious amount of pancakes (I’m serious). The bow on top of the entire package has to be their complimentary ring gear which is full of easter eggs for long time fans of the groups antics. The New Day are the answer to that old trivia question “What if The Fabulous Freebirds were three black guys that love pancakes?”
7. Ricochet: If you have not seen Ricochet wrestle, you’ve been living incorrectly until this point. The man is a human pinball machine. His nickname, “The One and Only” is absolutely perfect befitting a man that moves as if he’s a Streetfigher character in the ring. While his entrance attire is usually nothing more than a t-shirt or hoodie on NXT or Monday Night Raw, he usually ups the ante for special events with special capes that make him look like superhero he is.
8. Aleister Black: Could not talk about Ricochet and not include his current tag team partner. The striking man from Amsterdam came to the WWE ready made to reach the top and has already been the NXT champion. His aura reminds me more of the feeling The Undertaker brought to his entrance. Black sports a black vest with spikes as he rises from the floor like a vampire and his signature music gets you ready to watch someone get roundhouse kicked in the face!
9. The War Raiders: The best way to describe the War Raiders is to say that they are the most athletic vikings you’ve ever seen. Calling the curent NXT Champions intense is an understatement. Their ring gear reflects that. They’re a great call back to The Road Warriors’ entrance gear and they’re also somehow pushing the envelope forward with the aesthetic.
10. Last but not least is a woman that needs no introduction, Ronda Rousey.”The Baddest Woman on the Planet” has been a revelation in the WWE. She currently has a stranglehold on the Raw Women’s championship and will be headlining Wrestlemania along with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Her entrance gear harkens back to her hero Rowdy Piper. She often comes out with the signature leather jacket; t-shirt; and kilt combination. The entire presentation along with her signature scowl is the perfect prelude to an armbar.
There has never been a better time to be a wrestling fan!

Fans (SETH ROLLINS)
Tumblr media
(ANON) Seth brings his new actress girlfriend with him backstage before Monday Night Raw only to find out a few of his friends/fellow superstars are fans. Seth eventually gets annoyed atvthe attention she's getting (F) LUFF (H) UMOR
Warning: NONE
Writer's Notes: I did a fic like this one a while ago, but gonna try to make this one as different as possible
Y/N let out a playfully dramatic gasp, as she pulled on her boyfriend, Seth Rollins' arm as if she was an overly excited child.
"Please, oh please, do I get to go in there to..?" She questioned with a giggle as the couple stood outside of the men's locker room.
She had just been given her first tour of what it looks like backstage during Monday Night Raw and to her dismay it seemed to be coming to an end after Seth stopped.
"Hell no," Y/N almost instantly heard her boyfriend reply with his famous chuckle. "You never know what you may run into, in there."
"Like shirtless dudes?" She pried, elbowing Seth in his side. "More specifically a shirtless Finn Bal--?"
Seth jokingly shoved his large hand over her face, interrupting her before she could get the last name of one of her favorite wrestlers and her man's opponent for tonight out.
"I'm gonna pretend I didn't almost hear that..."
"Oh," Y/N said with a growing smirk. "Okay, I said more specifically a shirtless Fi--"
Seth shook his head while giving his girlfriend a look. "Stop." He said, trying to pull off a serious face as he soon turned his head from Y/N and her now smiling face. "And just wait out here while I go grab the shirt I got for you before you arrived."
"What's wrong with my shirt?" He heard her say as she glanced down at the one that was already on her body.
"It's not a Monday Night Rollins shirt." Seth quickly replied as he walked into the locker room to get the shirt, he'd already had packed and tucked away in his luggage for when his girlfriend came.
"Now, do I now how to pick a shirt, or what?" Seth asked with a huge smile on his face while Y/N came out of the bathroom in his WWE brand shirt.
"Or what?" Y/N threw back at him with a laugh, as they began walking around backstage again, before stopping shortly after hearing her name being called out.
A short haired blonde came running up the the two of them arms wide opened, but her focus on the female. "Y/N!" Renee called out again, repeating her words of a few seconds ago. "I saw in my Twitter feed that you was in Atlanta but it didn't occur to me, that you'd be here." She said bringing Y/N into a tight hug. "I just shrugged it off thinking you were in the city for a movie role or something."
"Nope." Y/N replied hugging one of her closet friends, and one half of her go to double date buddies, just as tight as she was being hugged. "It's like bring your girlfriend to work day, so Seth let me tag along." She said while flashing a look to Seth, before adding. "Plus you know how he loves the thought of keeping me locked up from--"
In all honesty, Y/N's been wanting to come and see what Seth does live for a long time now but there was so much that always seemed to pile up at the last minute.
Like her unpredictable schedule of filming, refilming scenes that needed to be done over, spontaneous interviews that her manger got her booked for, movie premiers.
Sometimes it was just like she never really got time for the traveling she would love to do with her boyfriend.
And his busy schedule every week didn't help, at all.
"If you say Finn Balor one more time..." Seth said, trying to come off as threatening as possible.
"Ha, I was gonna say Elias this time!" Y/N yelled a little too loud with a giggle, obviously not knowing that the very wrestler was making his was down the hall.
"Babe," Seth said trying to quiet his girlfriend as he noticed a fellow superstar a few feet away. "Shh--" He began before a male's voice cut him off.
"I heard my name." Elias said with his guitar slung over his shoulders.
Seth shook his head with a slight laugh before replying to Elias. "That was just my gir--"
"Y/N." Elias said with a smile, interrupting her boyfriend. "Big fan." He said with a smile to mirror the one that quickly appeared on her face after seeing a wrestler she's come to love on Monday Night Raw.
"Me too," Y/N said looking at the taller man. "Like you have no idea how big of a fan of yours I am." She added in awe, as she took the opportunity to steal a quick hug. "I'm always joking with Seth about how much you two look alike..." She again spoke, this time ending with a genuine laugh from her, Renee and Elias, and a more forced one from her boyfriend. "He hates it..."
Seth stood on the outside of the growing circle of male and female superstars that gathered around to chat with his girlfriend.
"It doesn't even look like you're trying to hide how annoyed you are..." He heard Roman say as he walked up, stopping at Seth's side.
Seth shrugged before mumbling, "They act like they've never seen a movie star."
Roman gave Seth a quick glance before letting out a laugh at how his close friend not only looked annoyed but sounded annoyed too.
But I mean, can you really blame him?
He's been standing outside of this little group, or whatever you could call it having to hear things like, "Oh, I loved your latest movie."
"I can't believe that kissing scene you had with..."
"Ugh, I just wish I could've met Jeff too."
"You are literally one of the reasons I always make time on Mondays for Raw."
"That dress you wore at the premier for ... was so cute."
"I love randomly listening to your theme."
You wouldn't want to deal either, Seth thought silently as if having a mental conversation with himself over what he's been hearing.
"You got five minutes, Seth." A WWE backstage worker said as he casually walked from the crowd after getting an 'autograph for his wife'.
"Yep," Seth mumbled before bring his arms, that were crossed over his chest and taking a few steps ahead, pushing his way into the crowd and over to Y/N. "My match is about to start, so I'm gonna head out to the gorilla." He said sounding less happy than before.
Y/N nodded at her boyfriend's words as he began walking off not even waiting for her.
"Text me, Renee." She said with a smile as she gave the more familiar of all the people who had joined the group a last hug for the night, before skipping off to catch up with her boyfriend. "You not gonna wait for me, babe?"
"You seemed pretty occupied with your fans or friends, or whatever, so I didn't think you'd want me to." Seth replied his bitterness coming off childish. "Besides I only have five minutes."
A slight frown took the place of the smile that Y/N's had on her face since she stepped off the plane at the airport to see Seth waiting for her, as she took hold of his hand, trying to get him to look at her.
"Five minutes is enough time for you to tell me what's changed your attitude all of a sudden." She said sorta demanding that he talk to her, without actually telling him to.
"I just got a bit annoyed at them crowding around you, that's all."
"But Seth," Y/N replied barely above a whisper. "It wasn't bothering me."
Seth nodded, a serious look on his face and a tone to match in his voice. "But it was bothering me...." He quickly replied. "Y/N I didn't ask you to fly out so that you could get caught up in some fan mess. I asked you to fly out so we can spend some much needed time together."
His eyes met the understanding ones of his girlfriend as she nodded and smiled slightly.
"You're right." She said as if she agreed with his words. "I just got caught up, cause you know how much of a fan I am of so many people here and then to find out they're just as big of fans of me, and actually love and know the movies I've been in..." She paused for a second before her smile returned. "It just felt amazing, but you're right. I came her to support you and spend time with you."
"It's okay," Seth said, his smile making a comeback of its own. "I forgive you." He added while wrapping his arms around the tiny waist of his girlfriend, and leaning down to give her a kiss.
"Hold up," Y/N replied, pulling away. "I didn't say sorry." She said giggling.
"Yeah, but I know you were about to," She heard Seth say with a playful smirk. "So I was forgiving you in advance."
Just as Y/N opened her mouth for a quick remark, she heard a boom of music and Finn Balor's theme sound off.
"Finn's doing his entrance." She squealed as her hands came up to both of her jaws and her mouth dropped. "Babe, where's the room where y'all watch the matches?" Y/N asked, her voice coming off slightly frantic from the sudden excitement.
Seth rolled his eyes. "Really Y/N?" He asked giving her another one of his looks. "After what I'd just said, and after I just forgave you?"
"Babe, I need a tv, cause you're about to go out, and I wanna watch." Y/N said, quickly thinking of something to soothe the situation over before it got out of hand. "I'm Monday Night Rollins as fuck..." She again said while glancing down at her shirt then back a Seth.

Show Review: Monday Night Raw 15/10/18
MNR Review
Hello! Welcome to my first ever wrestling show review. A few administrative points before we get onto the actual show;
Firstly, this is my first time doing anything like this, so any kind of feedback or constructive criticism is highly appreciated. Secondly, this review is probably going to be quite lengthy due to Raw being 3 hours and there being a lot to discuss/mostly complain about. Lastly, this review is aimed at those who watch the product most weeks, so it is written assuming the reader knows the basic details of the show (commentators, ongoing storylines etc.), and I don’t plan to go through matches spot for spot unless something catches my eye particularly. Alright, lets get into the show!
We kick off with Michael Cole welcoming us to Philadelphia, PA. The crowd is fired up which seems to be the norm for Philly in my experience, having been at the 2014 Royal Rumble, famous for Roman Reigns being boo’d out of the building. Braun, Dolph and Drew make their entrance together. Seeing someone like Dolph mimic Braun’s mannerisms is always funny to me. Before they start their promo the phrases ‘best in the world’ and ‘world cup’ have been mentioned at least 3 times and I feel this is going to be an ongoing complaint of mine. They cut a pretty standard promo about being the greatest 3 man group in history after beating The Shield last week and we get a replay of McIntyre kicking Ambrose’s head off. I’m starting to not care for The Shield as much but the story with Dean potentially turning and the good in-ring work is just about keeping me interested. Braun talks about his match at Crown Jewel but much like Cole earlier doesn’t mention the location due to the obvious controversy. Drew and Dolph both mention ‘best in the world’ yet again and we get a bit of dissention as they talk about facing off in the finals of the world cup. Seth and Roman finally appear on the stage, Seth drops a cheesesteak reference and after saying nothing of relevance declares he’ll face Drew in a qualifying match for the world cup right now.
After adverts Drew/Seth kicks off which I’m very excited for since I like both guys a lot. They start with a nice wrestling sequence where Drew displays his obvious power advantage over Seth. Cole drops the ‘best in the world’ line once again and I die a bit inside. Drew gets Seth up for a powerbomb with a deadlift but gets countered. This spot was crazy smooth and I’m loving the ‘new’ McIntyre. Seth goes for the standard suicide dive but gets caught in a belly to belly on the outside. Again I wasn’t planning to go spot for spot but this match has started really hot. Dolph runs down to cause the distraction and Seth gets tossed into the bars beneath the ring, another great spot. After some back and forth including a great falcon arrow counter, Seth takes out both Drew and Dolph with a suicide dive each and Dean runs out to counter Ziggler’s interference. All 4 men fight outside and Drew gets curb stomped leading to a count-out victory for Seth. Great TV match between 2 guys who can certainly go, finish was a bit flat for me but I encourage you to watch this.
After a break we get a backstage promo from The Shield where Seth slips and calls Ambrose a lunatic. Ambrose talks about only being good for laughs despite always backing up Seth/Roman and it makes me long for the Ambrose turn.
We see a replay of DX’s promo from last week followed by a spooky Brothers of Destruction promo. I’m sort of excited for this match but I can’t take Kane seriously with this gear and DX doesn’t really work as a concept when both members are old corporate suits. This promo was completely standard boring nostalgia bait, but I understand some people like that.
Ember Moon is out next and yells down the camera like a mong ruining her entrance. Nia Jax appears and is apparently Ember’s tag partner. Back from ads and Tamina and Dana Brooke are in the ring. Cole mentions how this is Tamina’s return from injury and she doesn’t even get an entrance. Commentary shill a battle royale for the Evolution PPV featuring some of the best women in the company which I feel is slightly ridiculous. People like Asuka and Ember are far better than a battle royale, even Carmella has been improving leaps and bounds and should be featured more. This match is standard tag fare, when Nia and Tamina are in the ring together it really drags. Dana gets tagged in and eats the Eclipse for 3, thank god. After the match the women do that stupid spot where they throw people over the ropes before a battle royale just to show it’s possible. I’ve very quickly come down from the high of the first match.
We get a little video package of The Bellas turning on Ronda last week. Ronda makes her entrance smiling ear to ear which I dislike in such a personal feud as this. Once she grabs a mic she stops smiling for a second until the crowd chants for her and she cracks again. Ronda stumbles through her promo and The Bellas appear on the stage. They cut a promo about disrespect which is the second one of the show. According to The Bellas they made the word ‘diva’ mean something. Ronda sort of interrupts but literally just asks if they have anything else to say. She then talks about ‘sister soldiers’ and then rags on the Bellas for leeching off the names of their men which is the best line of the promo. ‘The only door you ever knocked down was the one to John Cena’s bedroom’, brutal. That causes Nikki Bella to spring into action by ripping off her shirt and twirling her arse for some reason. A security team come out and all die by Ronda’s hands. That was arduous. I think Ronda is great in the ring for how little she’s wrestled but my god are her promos awful.
They show a replay of big gold condom Kurt Angle winning the battle royale from last week which flows into a backstage promo with Kurt Angle in vacation gear. I refuse to believe that man doesn’t take his singlets on holiday. Acting GM Baron Corbin makes a match with Angle against The Authors of Pain later tonight.
Finally we get another match after suffering through that Bella promo. Luckily for me it’s Ambrose/Ziggler and I suddenly become interested in the show again. Dolph makes his entrance and for some reason he’s wearing a hoodie instead of his cool silver jacket from earlier. Michael Cole once again drops that bloody ‘best in the world’ line and at this point I’m looking for something to hang myself from. Ambrose snapmares Dolph and smacks him with a few crossfaces. I love Ambrose’s new style since his return matching his increased bulk. We get some standard TV match back and forth until Dean goes to the top rope and gets countered into an X-Factor. Dean lands kinda awkwardly on his feet first but the move looks fine and he doesn’t seem to be injured. Weirdly it’s at this point that the crowd die, I’m surprised they held on this long. Ambrose hits Dolph with the Hook and Ladder, a move from his indy wrestling days which he seems to be bringing back, and it looks really good. Drew runs out for some interference similarly to earlier and Rollins follows. Seth ends up distracting Dean and Dolph gets the superkick for the 3 count. This was a good TV match but I’m slightly bias since I love both guys. Ziggler winning was likely the right decision since most of the world cup field thus far was face.
Post-match Dean walks away but Seth gives chase almost leading to a brawl until Roman separates them. Corbin comes out and makes The Shield versus Braun, Dolph and Drew for the main event, for the 3rd show in a row. Roman stares daggers through Corbin. I’d like these two in a real feud at some point, maybe not for the belt though.
Mixed Match Challenge competitors Finn Balor and Bayley enter together. Finn is far better than this and I wish they’d do something with him. Backstage we get a little promo with Braun and his squad, basically the same thing as last week with Braun warning them not to screw up. Jinder and his crew are here wrestling Finn yet again. Bayley attempts to get a slow clap going to no reaction at all. Finn mercifully wins a completely nothing match with the Coup De Grace, please never let these two wrestle again. Randomly Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush make their way down to the ring. Lashley does some poses in the corner and Lio Rush spouts some weird lines about nobody smelling like Lashley. Finn literally just leaves without any trouble. Silly me for thinking they’d actually give Finn a decent storyline.
We come back from the break to Tyler Breeze getting ready to be sacrificed to the giant baby god Lashley. After even more poses from Bobby Breeze actually gets a shot in which surprised me. Lashley hits a Yokosuka cutter which looks really good, weird that he’s randomly switched from the Dominator he used to do to this but I like it.
Trish and Lita are out next for even more nostalgia. It’s lost on me since I didn’t watch in the Attitude Era but it’s nice for the live crowd if nothing else. Lita says one sentence then Alexa Bliss and Mickie James make their way out. James is dressed like Bliss and it looks like granny is trying way too hard. Alexa is a great promo and it’s no different here but Mickie is just very cringey. Trish and Lita try and appeal to a younger market and say the word ‘practice’ about 50 times. Nothing happens as per usual.
Some random is wearing Kurt’s big gold condom and wrestling the Authors of Pain. After this guy dies Kurt appears behind Corbin on the stage and barely gets him up for the Angle slam. Their match will probably be fine, but that’s more because I still enjoy Kurt Angle.
Riott Squad randomly pour condiments over Natalya’s dressing room door and Liv Morgan makes a noise like a dog being kicked. What was the point of this.
Riott Squad are out after another break. Natalya comes out next holding a microphone and I’m scared. Natalya is completely fine in the ring but should be nowhere near a mic. She cuts a bad promo and brings out Bayley and Sasha Banks as back up. Cole screams ‘IT’S BOSS TIME’ and suddenly I don’t hate the ‘best in the world’ stuff anymore. I’m a big fan of the Riott Squad especially Ruby but I couldn’t begin to care about Natalya or this match. Nattie gets Ruby in the Sharpshooter and all the women brawl with the faces standing tall. I’m conscious that this review may paint me as disliking women’s wrestling as a whole but it’s more than most of the women’s segments on this show have been questionable at best.
Here’s Elias next, he cuts a promo about the future and John Cena and rags on Philly and what I assume is a sporting mascot of some kind. I love Elias but he’s starting to wear a bit thin for me. I feel like they either need to do something of note with him or not, stop letting him stagnate. Apollo Crews of all people interrupts. He cuts a promo about how he can’t sing and he isn’t that funny and he’s not wrong. Crews is sick of people passing him by, and while I don’t rate him that highly, I’m all for new people getting a chance. Apollo hits an impressive military press causing Elias to flee. Pretty standard stuff here but at least it’s someone new.
Finally we’re at the main event. Braun, Drew and Dolph make their entrance together same as earlier and Dolph is back to the sick jacket rather than the hoodie. The Shield come out through the crowd and must fight through a sea of twats. Dean and Seth start off doing tag moves like nothing happened until Ziggler pushes Rollins into Dean and the tension starts again. Reigns manages to get a chant for himself while Ziggler is getting heat on him. Philly is not where I imagined Roman would actually get a positive chant. Braun and Drew tag themselves in a couple times and argue giving Reigns time to recover and hit a samoan drop on Braun. After a bit more standard action Roman finally makes a tag and Seth and Dean run wild taking out all 3 opponents. Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds on Drew but Dolph breaks up the pin with Seth’s body. Seth and Dean get into a bit of a brawl as Dolph hits the Zig Zag for a close 2 count. Roman dodges a claymore kick from Drew and sends him flying into Braun. Dolph eats the triple powerbomb for the 3 count and The Shield embrace and leave. After the match Braun yells at Ziggler for screwing up and not carrying his weight and murders him with a powerslam. Drew nails Braun with a claymore kick and stands tall. I think from an in ring standpoint this match was the weakest of the 3 these teams have had but story-wise it was great. I didn’t want to get this deep into all the spots of the match but there was so much story ground to cover I couldn’t really help it.
Overall this show was a bit of a drag to get through but that’s not shocking from a 3 hour show. Whilst there were many highlights like the Shield storyline and matches, the women’s segments were poorly planned and executed and made the show feel far longer than it was. If I had the choice I’d give this show a miss, definitely not a must-watch Raw.

People think that being a wrestler is easy. They think that all you do is travel, do shows, eat well, workout, sleep, and that’s it. Either that, or it isn’t even real. A real sport.  But they don’t have a damn clue what it takes to even get here. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears. You could go on and on about some of the scars that you have obtained from being in this field.
Working your ass off lead to where you are today. A WWE wrestler for the longest running TV show in history. Monday Night RAW was the greatest opportunity you have ever been given. But you didn’t get here by yourself.
Previously to WWE, you wrestled in Japan. That is where you trained and became the wrestler you were today. That was also where you met your best friend, Finn Balor.
You’d known Finn before he was the famous Prince Devitt. You watched him grow and he did the same with you. You trained together and pushed each other to the limit. That is where you think you got you ‘badass’ attitude and didn’t really care what people thought. Most of the time.
The two of you traveled together and spent a lot of time together. Time of the road, time in hotel rooms, restaurants, working out, and shows. You could easily say that without Finn Balor, you wouldn’t be the wrestler you are today.
Then the two of you were hired by WWE around the same time and joined NXT and things just improved with you two. Not even thinking it was possible, you spent even more time together. Finn even came up with the idea of you guys getting an apartment together. You spent the time together, why not just live together?
There was just one problem. You were helplessly in love with the man. Living with him only made it worse. The both of you weren’t exactly “relationship” kind of people. Sure, you both had brought people home before, but it never lasted. So what did you do? Make bad decisions. That’s what.
You and Finn had moved on from being best friends to now friends with benefits. The sex was mind blowing. Like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. Only thing you hated was though, Finn always went right back to his room or he kicked you out almost immediately. You didn’t particularly like that because you were a cuddler. But, your relationship with Finn wasn’t like that.
It was the weirdest thing. You had feelings for Finn and he had no idea. He went on with his day like any other, like you weren’t sleeping together. Good for him, but part of you wanted to let him know how you felt, but that could jeopardize everything.
So, you kept your mouth shut.
“Why you gotta hug me
Like that every time you see me?
Why you always making me laugh
Swear you're catching feelings”
This week you were traveling on the east coast for live shows, having RAW take place in Philadelphia.  While in catering, you were sitting with the girls and they were all talking about their love lives. Being very open about it. You didn’t realize how dirty these girls were, wow.
“What about you, Y/N? What’s happening with you?” Sasha asked you.
You just shrugged your shoulders, “I don’t mean to disappoint, but there isn't anything happening with me.”
Bayley glared at you, “You’re lying. C’mon. We’re all being open here. No judgment.”
Just then, Finn walked into the room talking with Gallows and Anderson. He had a huge smile on his face. It was contagious.
“Well, I have been seeing this guy that lives in my building, but it’s nothing more than a few nights together, ya know? I am far too focused on my career to get tangled in a mess like that right now.” You said.
That was a good answer, right?
“Aahhh, get it girl. What about Finn? Does he bring girls home?” Sasha asked, wanting the dirty details.
“Sorry, ladies. You’ll have to ask him that. I don’t have a clue what he does on his free time.” You said, gathering you things and getting up.
“Seriously?! You can’t give us anything? You live with the guy!” Bayley said.
“My lips are sealed.” You said with a smile on your face.
You threw your trash away and made your way to Finn. Give him the warning that people were on to him to see if he’s seeing anyone.
Wrapping your arms around his neck, you surprised him. He jumped so high, he just about fell out of his chair. Gallows and  Anderson were laughing pretty hard.
“Geeeez, love. Next time ya try to sneak up on someone, how about a bit of a warnin’?” He asked, repositioning himself.
You took the seat next to him, “Well that just takes the fun out of it.”
Gallows chipped in, “Yeah, can you do that more often? I think Anderson here just about pissed himself laughing so hard.”
Anderson then hit Gallows arm, “I did not. But I do need to use the bathroom. Excuse me.”
The whole table laughed.
“So what’s up?” Finn turned to you and asked.
“Not much. The girls were trying to get some juicy info about you. Luckily for you, I didn’t have anything to tell them. But I just figured you should know, people are asking around.” You said, bumping his arm, laughing.
“Nothing to tell them?! Fergal. Are you not gettin’ any?!” Gallows asked, fairly loudly.
Finn’s eyes got wide and face got beet red, “Keep yer voice down, would ya?! I am, ya don’t need to be worryin’ about that.”
You didn’t say anything, just kept your head down.
Gallows got up and walked over to Finn, “Atta boy. Can’t be getting out of practice now.”
He gave him a ‘Too Sweet’ then walked off.
It was silent at the table for a moment, you were about to speak up when Finn beat you to it, “Well, I’ll see ya around.”
He then got up and got the hell out of there.
See you around? That wasn’t like Finn at all.
You just tried to shake it off and got ready for the show.
It was very difficult, but you managed to drop what Finn said. You were focused on the show for tonight.
Waiting for your entrance music, you felt a pair of arms wrap around your naked stomach. You quickly turned around.
“Finn. What are you doing?” You asked, smiling.
He didn’t say anything and hugged you. It wasn’t just a normal hug though. He held you tight. Your face was in the crease of his neck and you got a good whiff of his cologne and that made you feel weak in the knees. He then let you go, and you struggled to keep your balance at first.
“Sorry ‘bout earlier. That was kinda weird. Good luck out there.” He whispered in your ear and kissing your cheek.
“Thanks. You too, you know, for your match later.” You said.
“Thanks. Facin’ Braun. Gonna get my arse handed to me, but it’ll be okay.” He said, rubbing his ass, as if it was already hurting.
That made you laugh.
You grabbed his shoulders and laughed, “At least try to get a few good punches and kicks in before then.”
“I’ll try. Just for you. See ya after?” He asked.
Then your music hit. You just nodded and went and did your entrance.
Your match went smoothly and the crowd loved it. That was what you liked about house shows. They were smaller and you could interact with the fans more. A little girl even handed you a picture she drew of the two of you. It was so sweet. Camilla was her name. She was an angel.
Getting ready backstage to go home, you went to find Finn to head to the next town.
Right before you were about to turn the corner, you could hear Finn talking to someone. He was talking to Enzo Amore. You waited a minute, you didn’t want to interrupt their conversation.
“C’mon. Gimme the details. Have ya seen her...all exposed? Slept with her? Living with her must be fun.” Enzo laughed, nudging Finn.
What a pig.
“Uh, no Enzo. None of the above. We’re just friends. And even if there were anythin’ goin’ on, which there isn't, why the hell would I tell ya, of all people, about it? Geez man.” Finn said.
Well. That was new to your ears. Just friends.
You walked away and found another way to get to the rental and just texted Finn that you were there already. You needed to get your emotions out of the way before he got there.
“I loved you from the start
So it breaks my heart
When you say I'm just a friend to you
'Cause friends don't do the things we do
Everybody knows you love me too
Tryna be careful with the words I use
I say it 'cause I'm dying to
I'm so much more than just a friend to you”
Finn made his way into the rental and you threw a fake smile at him. He started driving and was acting like that conversation was nothing back there. So it must have not been? You were just some fuck to Finn when he needs it? You really didn’t know if he slept with other girls. You knew that you weren’t. You liked Finn to much to sleep with anyone else. But he, or anyone else for that matter, doesn’t know how you feel.
“How’d yer match go” He asked.
“Uh, it was fine. I won.” You said.
“That’s good! I didn’t. I got my arse handed to me like I knew I would.” He laughed, then he looked at you, hoping you would laugh too.
“How bad are you hurting?” You asked, looking ahead at the road.
“Not too bad, thankfully.” He said.
You sensed that he could feel the tension in the air. It was fairly quiet the rest of the way to the hotel.
Once you made it to the next town, you got out of the car and grabbed your bag and went straight to your room.
You had to share it, so you couldn’t properly let out your emotions. You decided to just take a shower and try to do it then. It was all so overwhelming. You weren’t sure how you were supposed to feel. Being in love with your best friend and have him tell your coworkers that you’re just friends? You had no idea what Finn thought about all of this, but if you brought it up, he would be all weird about it.
Right when you were about to lie down, you had got a text. From Finn. He wanted you to come to his room. Part of you knew what he wanted, but you didn’t want to give in anymore. It was hurting you more than it was helping. So, you texted him back.
-What for?
-Just come over, please.
You sighed and got up. He texted you his room number and you put leggings and a sweatshirt on. Your hair was still wet, but oh well.
Knocking on his door lightly, he opened it to let you in. Luckily there was no one in the hallway to see you.
“Hey.” He said.
You peeked your head into the room to see if anyone else was in there.
“Have it all to myself, no worries. Come in?” He gestured to the room. You walked in.
As soon as the door closed you asked,  “So what did you need?”
“Uh, okay. I just wanted to make sure yer okay. Ya acted kinda weird on the car ride here. I know when somethin’ is upsettin’ ya. So, are ya alright?” He asked.
You weren’t quite sure how to answer him. Do you be honest and put your friendship in danger or make up some excuse? You’d feel pretty shitty if you lied, so you decided to be honest.
“I overheard you talking with Enzo earlier…” You said.
Finn sighed and nodded, “Okay, didn’t know ya were standin’ there.”
“I was trying to find you after the show. Didn’t mean to overhear, but…” You said.
“He was just bein’ a pig, okay. Ignore him. If it upset ya that much, I can talk-”
“It wasn’t what he said that upset me. That is to be expected from Enzo Amore.” You said, cutting him off.
“Alright, so what did upset ya?” He asked, looking confused.
You sighed, “The fact that you said we were just friends.”
“But...we are?” He asked.
“Are we? Don’t take this the wrong way, but normal ‘friends’ don’t sleep together. Normal friends don’t have the unique relationship that we do.” You said.
“Y/N, what are ya tryin’ to say?” Finn asked, still looking very, very confused.
“I don’t know Finn. This is hard to admit…” You said, sitting on the edge of the bed looking at the ground.
Finn got right in front of you and stood you up. He grabbed your chin, that way you were looking up at him, “You can tell me anytin. You know that.”
You took a deep breath, “Okay, how would you suggest telling your best friend of almost 10 years that you’re in love with them without ruining the relationship you have with them?”
Finn was quiet for a minute thinking, then it looked as if a lightbulb had turned on and he looked at you, “Wait, are ya tellin’ me-”
“Yes.” You said quietly.
Finn didn’t say anything. He just looked at you with his ocean blue eyes. His next move surprised you. He kissed you.
It was a passionate, needy kiss. You opened up your lips and Finn slipped his tongue in. He then pushed you back onto the bed.
It didn’t take long before your clothes were off and you assisted taking his off. Whenever you were with Finn, you could never seem to wait. You knew what you wanted, and he knew you wanted it, so he never hesitated to give it to you.
Tonight was different than most nights, it was...quick. You both seemed to get off pretty easily. But you still felt pretty good about it. He didn’t turn you away.
But Finn made love to you, right there, in his hotel room.
Once you caught your breath, you moved to get up and put your clothes back on and go back to your hotel room.
“Wait.” Finn said, grabbing your arm.
You turned around to look at him.
“Stay.” He said. Opening the spot next to him up for you.
“Really? You never want to do that.” You said, giving him a funny look.
“Tonight is different.” Finn said.
You took him up on his offer though. You stayed the night and cuddled him. That in itself wasn’t what you expected. You didn’t expect him to be so comfortable, since he is all muscle, but damn. You’re not complaining.
You got up earlier than usual so you could be in your hotel room before anyone knew you were missing. You decided not to go to sleep though.  You took a shower and hit the gym and then got some breakfast. You had texted Finn to see if he wanted to join you, but didn’t get a response. He must be asleep.
“When there's other people around
You never wanna kiss me
You tell me it's too late to hang out
Then you say you miss me
And I loved you from the start
So it breaks my heart”
Later in the day you had received a text from Finn that he went to the arena early and that you would need to get a ride with someone else.
No big deal, you rode with one of the girls.
The day went by kind of quickly because before you knew it, it was show time. It was Sunday, so the night before RAW. Only one more travel day before you could go home and relax for a few days.
You were standing by the gorilla waiting patiently for your entrance. You were feeling good tonight. There was just one thing missing. Finn hadn’t come over to wish you luck. He did that before every match. Where was he?
Now that you thought about it, you haven’t seen him all day.
You went out and did your match anyway. It didn’t go quite as planned, but that’s okay. The crowd loved it.
Waiting for the show to get over, you got all your things packed and ready to go to the last town of the week. You left the locker room. You had also sent Finn a text asking where he was. No answer.
You found Finn talking with Gallows and Anderson backstage. You got up in their circle, “Hey guys! Finn, I texted you. You ready to go?”
“Actually, the guys and I are goin’ to ride together tonight. Is there someone else ya could ride with?” He asked.
Nia was walking past and heard, “I have an extra seat. You can ride with me if you want. I’m heading to the car now.”  She said with a smile on her face.
“Uh, sure. Thanks, Nia. I am ready.” You said, walking away with her, looking back confused at Finn, who wouldn’t even look at you.
What was his problem?
The car ride with Nia, Alexa, and Mike Rome was fine. You got along with all of them. You just didn’t understand why Finn all of a sudden was riding with the boys? And didn’t bother telling you about it beforehand. And why didn’t he look at you? He was being super weird.
You went to the next hotel and just slept on it. Maybe things will be better tomorrow.
When you woke up the next morning, you had a text that came in way after you fell asleep. It was Finn.
-Missin ya tonite. Xx
What the hell? He couldn’t even look at you when he was around his friends, but can send you this shit in the middle of the night?
You walked down to the hotel lobby area and went to have some breakfast. You saw Finn sitting there with some of his friends, but you decided to ignore him.
“Can I join you guys?” You asked Alexa and Nia with a smile.
They were very welcoming and the conversation never died. It was nice.
Every so often, you glanced over at Finn and caught him staring at you. But at soon as you met eyes, he looked away. You weren’t sure what was going on, but you were going to get to the bottom of it.
You had to get ready and head to some radio and news stations this morning to do some interviews then go straight to the arena for RAW. You were so busy you didn’t even have time to think about your wacky love life.
While you were back in hair and makeup, the last person you wanted to see showed up and sat down next to you.
You sighed, “What do you want, Enzo?”
“How do ya know I want something? Maybe I just came in here to talk to a pretty lady.” He said, eyeing you up and down.
“Get out of my face, Enzo.” You said, starting to get bothered by him. You suddenly remembered the things he said to Finn about you.
“I want to know if you’ll go out with me sometime. I think we’d be great together. You have a great body, by the way.” He said.
“I’m going to give you 5 seconds to get out of my face before I kick your ass.” You said, staring at him. You could not deal with him right now.
He put his hands up in defense, “Okay, fine. Didn’t know you were such a snooty bitch.” He mumbled while walking away.
“Pig!” You yelled after him while he walked away.
Your blood was boiling. Luckily, you were done getting touched up. You thanked them then apologized for what they had to see.
You went to find your locker room so you could get ready. Luckily, you could take your frustration out on whoever you were facing tonight.
As fate would have it though, while you were walking quickly to the locker room, you collided with someone.
“Oops, sorry.” You said, before realizing it was Finn.
You looked at him for a second and felt tears start to swell in your eyes. The other person you didn’t want to see.
He didn’t say anything.
“Pffft.” You managed to get out then continuing on your way.
Once you got to the locker room, you couldn’t help but let out a couple tears. But you made sure to look over the sink so it didn’t mess up the makeup you just got done.
Why was all of this happening right now? It was the worst possible time. Why did you have to open your big mouth and tell Finn you loved him? Just why. You weren’t sure how to deal with all of it.
So, you didn’t.  You got changed, cleaned up your face and went out and did your thing.
Poor Bayley though. She got to feel how frustrated you were tonight.
Once the match was over, Bayley caught up with you, “Damn, Y/N. Those were some hard hits tonight. You okay?”
“Yep. Totally fine. Sorry if I hurt you.” You said, looking at her to see if there were any bruises.
“I’m good, I can take a punch. Just making sure that you’re good.” She said.
You could see Finn in the corner of your eye, “Yeah, I have a lot on my plate, but I’m good. Good match tonight.” Then you walked away.
As you were walking down the hallway, Renee caught you for an interview. You could feel a hole burning in your face the whole time. Finn was staring.
Once the interview was over, you practically ran to the locker room. You couldn’t wait to take all the makeup off so you could let out the emotions running through your body.
Once you were changed out of your ring gear, you just sat on the bench and held your head in your hands.
You decided to ride alone to the hotel and thankfully you had a room to yourself. You flew home in the morning, but you weren’t sure if you could stand being there with Finn.
So, you texted your parents to see if they were doing anything the next couple of days. They said they weren’t, so maybe you could go surprise them.
It probably wasn’t the best idea, to avoid all of this, but you weren’t sure what else to do.
As soon as you woke up in the morning, you went straight to the airport. The sun wasn’t even up yet.
You made it home and thankfully, you beat Finn. You went to your room and began to pack a bag.
About an hour later, you heard the door. You were packed and ready to go, you were just going to wait to see if he went to his room before leaving.
You went into the living room and put your bags down and sat down on there while Finn was in the kitchen making himself some coffee.
“Goin’ somewhere?” He asked you.
“To my parent’s for a couple days.” You said, refusing to look at him.
It stayed quiet for a minute or two.
“Y/N. Will ya just bloody look at me!” Finn said, almost slamming his cup down.
Your eyes got wide and you looked at him. He was now cleaning up the mess he made. You went into the kitchen to help him.
Once everything was cleaned up, you both sat down at the island. You grabbed a cup of coffee.
“Sorry. What is happenin’ here?” Finn asked.
You were looking down at your cup, “I-I don’t know.”
“Why haven’t ya talked to me the last couple days?” He asked.
“Why haven’t you?” You asked, finally looking up at him.
Finn changed the subject, “So I’ve been doin’ a lot of thinkin’, about what ya said…”
“So you can ignore me in front of our friends some more? Then text me in the middle of the night that you miss me?” You began, you couldn’t help but get frustrated thinking about it.
“Will ya let me finish?”
“Sorry.”
“Anyway, I was thinkin’ and I think I feel the same way…” He said, very quietly.
Did you hear him correctly?
“About what?” You asked.
“Ya know, ‘bout what ya told me the other night.” Finn said.
You raised your eyebrows, you wanted to hear him say it.
“Y/N. I am in love with ya. I tink I have been for a long time, I just didn’t realize it. It isn’t easy for me to admit my feelings like this. Wrestling has always been my focused then you came along.” He said.
“Then why were you a jerk to me the last couple days?” You asked.
“I don’t know. My head wasn’t on straight. My best friend just told me that they love me and I needed time to process.” Finn said.
“So you process by being an asshole?” You asked, laughing.
“I get defensive, I’m sorry. I didn’t want to tell Enzo that we were sleepin’ togetha because then everyone would know. So I just said those things to get him off my back.”
You laughed some more, “He tried coming after me the other day. I threatened to kick his ass.”
Finn laughed.
It was silent again, before you decided to speak up.
“So, what is this?” You asked.
“What do ya want it to be?” Finn asked.
You shrugged your shoulders, it was beginning to get awkward.
“How ‘bout this. How ‘bout I take ya on a date. See how that goes? And ya unpack that bag. Yer not goin’ anywhere.” Finn said.
He got up and walked over to you. He picked you up, started kissing you,  and carried you bridal style over to his bedroom and shut the door.

Come over
Here it goes – another one from my old stuff, fluff this time. I wrote it shortly before Finn became NXT champion.. (too) sweet times. It’s longer and it’s definitely better than others (at least I hope so).
Enjoy!
It was always about wrestling – everything in Finn’s life was about wrestling. Crazy journeys from one side of the world to the other, staying up whole nights reading magazines, countless hours in ring, nearly dying from exhaustion on the gym.. all this crazy work to wrestle everyday, to make it his living.
There were of course other things which made him happy. His big family, hanging out with friends (wrestlers or not), reading comic books or building legos. Going out of town from time to time was also refreshing. He even had girlfriends sometimes, but it never was anything too serious – his life was wrestling and he knew it was all that mattered.
Hard work payed when he signed to NJPW – this is it, he’s proffesional. And then.. to famous WWE’s developmental, NXT. If before all his life was about wrestling, he didn’t know how to call it right now – breathing this craft? He met the most amazing people and had chance to train in the best condtions he could ever dream of. Wrestlers inspired each other, the legends were here to give advices.
The last thing Finn got on his mind was something like this.
Never said any of this was gonna be simple
Sometimes all it takes is just a symbol
Because the place you want to reach is right in front of you
Keep getting stronger, so just keep on my belonger
Rapapam
You showed up on the same time as him, being one of new additions to NXT’s roster. He heard of you before, it was hard not to – he even saw your one match live, but when he got backstage you were taken to the emergency. Hardcore wrestling was your cup of tea, after all.
Machinegunka was always saying that you’re the women of his dreams and Balor didn’t give it much thought. Well yeah, you were pretty and skilled too, but nothing extraordinary. Your promos were good and kind of sick, while he played it simple and classic. He prefered showing in ring than before camera.
You made look yourself as this crazy girl, who wasn’t scared of anything. Participating in extreme matches, with guys too – lightweight, but still.. well, you liked to take a risk, he was sure of that. Everyone was excited to have you on the WWE and he was curious himself. How badass are you on daily basis?
When you finally appeared, you didn’t have much time because of whole paperwork that needed to be done. When you dropped by, ecouraged by Sami Zayn – your roommate from few years ago – Finn was more than intrigued.
You weren’t that vicious competitor, but nice girl who laughed all the time. Guys company didn’t bother you much, you seemed easy and comfortable. When Steen (or rather Owens) posted photo on twitter with NXT’’s “old school” team you were also there, beetween Hideo and Sami. Jokes and positive attitude draw him closer to you; even more after he saw your debut, the chanting of the crowd, passion in your movement.
And the happiest smile on your face when you came backstage.
You bring the sun-sun-sun-sunshine
You bring the sun-sun-sun-sunshine
You two clicked almost immediately. Not that strange, really. Finn liked the lazy chats with you after training. You even get in ring few times, learning from each other. You helped him more in acting class, being Dusty’s pupil. It wasn’t uncommon to have coffee together on mornings or beer on evenings.
Rumors spread rather quickly and guys began to tease him about you. “Woah, here comes the Demon’s queen” was the popular one, although Adrian and Kevin liked to sigh heavily with “Date already, for fuck’s sake”. It was more funny than embrassing. Dating? It wasn’t that kind of relationship, it just.. it was easy with you. No drama, only positive vibes and ultimate sacrifice for wrestling. He liked your company and he wanted to know more about you, but he wasn’t sure about direction of it. “It’s written on your faces, this pure interest”, Becky said once.
Well I guess you’re gonna run out of luck sooner or later
You better make time to sit down and bent the paper
Because the things you want to do is slept away from you
It won’t be long now
So just keep on being stronger
I recall as she blow my mind
without you, without you
Girl you got me wicked money
can’t stop thinkin’ about you, about you
Around two months of bonding friendship later, Balor started to see more of you. Not only amount of your hard work at Performance Center – but also nice shape of your body. Not only wicked laugh because of some stupid Enzo’s joke – but  also sweet dimples on your cheeks. He catched himself buying you this little cupcake on the way to gym almost everyday to have some time together before everyone show up. You rewarded him with little smile and after few times with cup of his favourite coffee, too.
- I really like yer’ smile – he told you one day during cooling off after practice:- It’s the cutest one I ever saw, ya know?
He expected some smartass response or simple ‘thank you’, as usual. But he only heard silence and when he looked at you, he couldn’t quite believe his eyes.
You were blushing. Oh, how bad you were blushing!
It wasn’t only shock, but hell of an achievment. You weren’t this type, especially after some small compliment. And Finn felt his cheeks burn also, because somewhere deep in his mind he knew you showed him the special side of you – the shy, embrassed girl. No one knew about this. How special he has to be to witness it?
He didn’t flinch when you just stormed away; you needed a bit of time for youself. Maybe as he? All he could think of was this precious colour of your cheeks, the wide eyes and all of you. How much he wanted to wrap it in his arms, to be it only his.
Damn straight you’re gonna be his.

I Found You #3 (Finn Balor Story)
Thank you everyone for the amazing feedback!
“So I figured we can rearange the furinture so when they come and take pictures of the apartment they know we are not complete slobs...” Lucy talked, we were moving apartments, somewhere near California. I didn’t want to move actually. Things with Finn had started getting serious, and I’m afraid if I move, no matter where he is, I’ll be farther away from him. I don’t see him as a famous wrestler anymore I see him as Finn Balor or Fergal Devitt. I see him as a man, and I love him.
“(Y/N)?” Lucy asked.
“Hmm?”
“Have you been listening?”
“Oh yeah move the furninture, I really don’t want to do this.” I complained.
“You never like to move anywhere really, you are one place kind of person.” Lucy said softly.
I smiled as I flipped through my pictures of Finn that he sent me. Lucy still doesn’t know about Finn and I’m keeping it that way. Every time she would sneak a peek at my phone I would automatically hide the phone away from her. I trained myself to do so. Lucy can be sneaky.
“Why are you always hiding your phone from me?” Lucy asked.
“Can anyone in this world have privacy?”
“Fine, but I don’t know why you change the Twitter password...” Lucy said.
“Because it’s under my name, Lu!” I scoffed.
“ok, ok don’t get all snappy with me, girl, honestly, it’s like your life revolves around that account.” Lucy said. In a way, Lucy was right, sometimes I could feel Finn that’s how connected I’m to him, and sometimes I wanted to feel him. God knows when they’ll be in Seattle, and if I move, when will they be in Cali? I was better off staying in Seattle. Everything was here to begin with.
My phone began to ring- it was Finn- “Oh, Lu I have to take this, hold on.” I said, getting out of my seat to go answer it.
“Go girl.”
Once I knew I was far from Lucy, I answered it, “Hello?”
“Ello lovely!” His voice came happy and cheerful.
“Finnie.” I giggled softly.
“How is my girl?” He asked, his girl.
“I’m fine, I missed you last night.”
“Me too, I’m sorry, things are getting hectic with Wrestlmaina and all...it’s my first.”
“I know, I know, I’m so excited for you!” “I was actually thinking of going to New Orleans to see you...”
He went silent...”Finn? Don’t you want to see me?”
“Oh yeah, yeah I do, I want to see you so much.” He giggled nervously. “It’s just that...” He began to to make me nervous.
“Just what? Oh, is there someone else?” I questioned nervously.
“Oh, no no no, no love, there is only you...” He said, giving me relief.
“It’s just that...how would we make this whole thing work? I don’t expect you to drop everything you are doing for me...” Finn said, sweetly and softly. It almost brought me to tears.
“What life do I have here, I have nothing, and I don’t expect you to drop everything too, you were born to wrestle it’s in your blood, you can’t do anything else, no offense.” I said, leaning against the wall.
Finn laughed, “No, you’re right. I do appericate all of your support for me.”
“That’s because I love you and I’m not going to give up on us. Please don’t do that.” I said, almost begging him to turn this conversation around. Finn went silent.
“No, I’m not going to give up neither, you’ve made me so happy this passed month...I can’t leave you alone.” I smiled through my tears.
“Then I will see you in New Orleans...” I said, “It can’t come soon enough. If we are around the next couple of weeks I’ll make it a point to see you.” Finn said.
“It’s not likely.” I said sadly.
“You never know with this business.” He laughed, “I love you mo millies.”
“I love you my favorite.” I know I could feel Finn smile through the phone I could almost feel his warmth of his heat radiating from the phone. We both hang up, for the first time I was dancing. I stopped once i caught sight of Lucy with her arms crossed.
“Who was that, deary?” She asked. Now I’ve planned for something like this for weeks, now the time has come, I have drawn a blank. My heart sank to my stomach and my throat had a lump larger than an apple.
“A friend...” I answered.
“oh? A man?”
“A friend, Lu.” I said, sternly. She sighed, “Ok, Ok you want to keep this private, I understand.” She said with a smile, going into the bathroom. I sighed, no more hiding, hiding. Now I’m just hiding.
One way or another I’m going to make it to Wrestlmania. I was going to see Finn and meet him for the first time. I could only imagine what his arms would feel like.around me.
--
“Lu, give me those lamps I’m gonna air pack them...”
“Alright...”
There was a knock at the door, “Oh Lord it’s the movers...” I said.
“Oh they’re early...” Lucy said. I went to open the door, surprisingly I was happy to move. I opened and gasp silently, there he stood, with a black shirt, his hair comb and beard trimmed. He stood a few inches taller than me, and his eyes glowed like the sea, a beautiful blue sea. The bluest I’ve ever seen.
He took me in his arms and pulled me to his shoulders for a hug. For the frist time, I felt him, his muscles budlged against me, I struggled slightly to wrap my arms around his body.
It was all to go to be true, that is until I woke up. I gasped thinking of it as some of kind of nightmare, but it wasn’t. Far from it, but it was my willing to be with Finn. I knew I had to be with him. I wanted to be with him so badly that I could cry from the urning.
I texted Finn, “are you up?” Moments later...
F:“Yeah, I can’t sleep...normally I can.”
ME: “I can’t wait to see you.”
F: “I know, me too. I keep dreaming of Wrestlmania, not of my moment, but my moment to see you.”
Me: “Once I see you, what will happen?”
F: “I’m going to keep you and love you, you and I will work things out and take it a step at a time. I’m going to take care of you, I promise.”

Chapter 2 - The Beginning and the End of Everything (Finn Balor)
Fergal was due to attend physiotherapy six days a week.  His only true day off was Sunday, but by Saturday he was at least out by noon, so he still had the afternoon to go about his day and do what he wanted.  He was happy with the schedule; he didn’t really mind being there six days a week so long as he knew he was getting better.
Fergal did not only physically hate his predicament, but mentally as well.  He hated his sling.  He hated how he couldn’t use his right hand; how he couldn’t grab for things, or hold a fork and a knife at the same time.  He was learning to adjust, but he still hated it.  More than not being actually able to do those things, he hated that his mind still thought that he could.  He hated that his first instinct was to grab for something with his right hand.  Every time he did, he groaned internally, making a conscious effort to do the task with his left hand.  It was torture.  And the more he was in the sling, he more he wanted out.   He had already been in physiotherapy for about an hour – a painful hour – and there was still about two hours to go.  Out of the corner of his eye during a water break, Fergal saw the girl from his first appointment, the one who had been double-booked with him.  Gemma.  She waddled into the room, using one crutch, and made her way over to the physio benches that they had both been on during their first session.
Since John was working with him today, Fergal wondered who would be working with Gemma.  No other physiotherapists seemed to be approaching her, and after he quickly scanned the room, it didn’t look like any were anytime soon.  He looked over at John, who looked to be deep in conversation with a fellow physiotherapist, and decided to go talk to her.
She didn’t see him as he walked over, since she was trying to prop herself up to sit on the bench.  When she did notice him, however, Fergal saw her stiffen slightly.
“Hey,” he said, waving slightly with the water bottle that was in his hand.
She didn’t reply at first.  She looked at him like he was crazy.  “Hi.”
Her reaction made Fergal think she didn’t remember him.  They didn’t actually see much of each other, after all, since they were both on their backs much of the time.  They mostly just heard each other’s names being called by John throughout the session.  “I…I’m not sure you remember me?  I’m Fergal.  We were double-booked together during our first session.”
“I remember you,” she deadpanned.
“Oh, good,” Fergal smiled slightly, though her voice was completely devoid of any emotion.  Was she happy to see him?  Was she happy to be there?  Judging by her demeanour, probably not.  “How are you?”
She paused again.  Her stare was intimidating, and the fact that she hadn’t cracked a smile didn’t help.  “I’m fine.”
Fergal waited for the customary and polite ‘How are you?’ but as she continued to stare at him, probably wondering why the hell he approached her in the first place, he quickly realized it wasn’t coming.  “So, uh, how’s your last few days been?” he asked trying to make conversation.
Gemma wasn’t having it.  “Fine.”
“Are you fro --”
“Listen, I appreciate the sentiment, but I’m really not in the mood to talk,” Gemma countered immediately.  “And from the looks of how fast he’s walking towards us, John doesn’t want you to be near me.”
Fergal was taken aback by her boldness.  He didn’t say anything, instead looking behind him to see John walking quickly towards them.  He had a look of urgency on his face but when he noticed Fergal staring, it changed to a considerably happier one.  “Hi Gemma,” he smiled quickly as he as he finally approached them, standing beside Fergal.  He didn’t wait for Gemma to respond – maybe he knew she wouldn’t – and focused his attention on Fergal beside him.  “Gemma, Diane will be with you soon; she’s just finishing up with someone else.  Fergal, should we get back to work?”
“Yeah, okay,” Fergal said.  He looked once more at Gemma.  She was already looking away from them both.  “Have a good day,” he waved.
She said nothing.
As Fergal and John made their way back across the room, Fergal kept subconsciously looking back, looking at Gemma as she sat on the physio bench, eyes focused on nothing in particular, her short hair messy around her face.  At least it seemed brushed this time.
“You’re a friendly guy…she’s not the friendliest girl right now,” John said, practically under his breath, as he noticed Fergal staring at her.  He turned his attention to John once he heard the words.  “Her injury’s pretty bad.”
“Yeah?” Fergal took another quick look at her.
“She’s pretty torn up about it.  Clearly.  You hear from people who have worked with her who all say she’s a sweetheart, so poised and so well spoken.  And I believe it – I really do.  But injuries change athletes,” John said.
“What sport was she in?” Fergal asked, hoping to get at least something out of John.
John smiled slightly.  “Patient confidentiality, Fergal.  You know I can’t tell you.”
“Not even her sport?”
John shook his head.  “Gives you liberty to look it up and know everything about her when you get home.”
“Fine, fine,” Fergal waved him off.  “Let’s get going.”
“Don’t be afraid to order whatever you want.  I’m sure the chef will cut it for you, and if they don’t, I will.”
Fergal smiled at his best friend Rami sitting across from him.  After a busy workweek, Rami had flown back to Orlando for two days – two days he’d spend with Fergal.  Fergal always enjoyed Rami’s company and he was extremely grateful that Rami had come down to visit him.  They became good friends while they were both in NXT; since they had similar paths in getting to the WWE, they had more in common than most others.  Not to mention that they were big fans of each others’ work.
The other reason why Fergal was happy to have Rami around was because Rami had gone through a similar injury not too long ago, almost practically in the same predicament.  In Rami’s first match on Raw, in his hometown of Montreal, he tore out his shoulder and was sidelined for almost seven months.  For Fergal, it happened in his first big pay-per-view, after he’d become an inaugural champion.  If anyone knew how Fergal was feeling right now – mentally, physically, emotionally – it was Rami.
“If I order spaghetti can we eat it together, Lady and the Tramp style?” Fergal quipped.
“Obviously,” Rami said, not even looking up from his menu.
Both men opted for steak and mashed potatoes.  The waiter brought their waters and breadbasket promptly, and Rami cut Fergal’s bread and slathered on some butter for him.  Fergal bit in to his slice of baguette while Rami worked on buttering his own piece of bread.
“So how’s the rehab going so far?” Rami asked as he set his butter knife down gently, taking a bite out of his own piece of baguette.
“It’s going pretty well.  Hurts like a bitch though, as you can imagine,” Fergal said.
“Yeah, the first few weeks are the hardest.  Especially when you’re restrained by the immobilizer,” Rami commented.  “I absolutely hated when I had mine on.  It was the worst.”
“Yeah, it’s really annoying.  It doesn’t help that it’s my dominant hand, either.  I can’t write anything, can’t grab anything like I can with my right hand.  I’m going to need to learn to become ambidextrous.”
“Who do you have working with you at rehab?”
“It’s mostly John MacLean, but sometimes it’s a rotation,” Fergal informed him.  Fergal knew Rami would know the name, since Rami went to the same place for his physiotherapy.
Rami began nodding his head.  “I worked a bit with John, too.  He’s fantastic.  Really nice guy.”
“Yeah, he’s great,” Fergal nodded.  “He had himself in a bit of a pickle our first session.”
“How so?”
“The secretary accidentally double-booked the time slot for him, and I shared the session with someone else.”
“Oh man, really?  Who?”
Unbeknownst to him, Fergal took a deep breath.  “Her name is Gemma.  She’s an athlete too.  That’s all I really know about her.  John can’t say anything because of doctor-patient confidentiality.”
“What’d she get done?”
“Something to do with her knee.”
“Ouch,” Rami winced.  “Did you guys talk during your session?”
“I mean, I tried talking to her.  She wasn’t in the mood to talk both times I saw her.”
“You saw her again?”
“A few days later.  I was already mid-session when she walked in.  I tried to make small talk and she wasn’t having it.  Looked at me like I was crazy, gave me a few glares.  The only thing John could say was that she is usually a very friendly person, but the injury is really tearing her up.”  Fergal shrugged his shoulders as he recounted all this information to Rami.  “I don’t know, Rambo, were there any other professional athletes there when you were doing your physio?”
“I’m sure there were, but I didn’t really know,” Rami said.  “If it was a famous hockey player I probably would have recognized them.  But there were probably athletes there from sports I don’t pay attention to.”  Rami took another bite out of his baguette.  “She has to be an athlete, right?  Since she’s at the facility.” “Yeah, I just wish I knew what sport she played,” Fergal mused.  “I sort of wish I knew why she’s in such a bad mood.  I mean I just had major surgery too but I’m trying to keep my head up, you know?  I’m still smiling.  It seems like she doesn’t want anything to do with anybody.”
“Meh, you’ll learn soon enough.  Nobody can resist that toothy grin of yours,” Rami smiled.
“There’s my boy!” Fintan Devitt exclaimed into his phone as the FaceTime camera showed him his son, an ocean between them, smiling on the other end.  After being home for two weeks now with his wife, it pleased him to see his son again, especially considering his circumstances of being injured.
“Hey dad,” Fergal smiled, noticing that his dad was wearing a Balor Club t-shirt.  He really wondered if that’s all that his father wore everywhere.  “Nice shirt.”
“How’re you feeling, son?” Fintan asked, ignoring the compliment.  “How’s rehab going?”
“Rehab’s good,” Fergal nodded his head quickly.  “Everyone at the facility is great.  Really nice, take their time with me, all that.”
“Leonie!  Fergal wants to say hi!” his dad called out past his iPad, attention temporarily on his wife.  Fergal waited as his mom made her way over to the couch, sitting beside her husband.  Fintan readjusted the iPad so they were both in view to their son.
“Hi mammy,” Fergal smiled.
“Hello dear,” Leonie smiled warmly.  “Does your shoulder still hurt?”
“A little bit,” Fergal admitted.  “I’m still on a light dosage of the pain medication but I should be off it soon.  It hurts the most right after rehab.”
“I’m sorry I can’t be there with you,” his mother said.  “We would have loved to stay, but we had to watch your niece and nephew…”
“Mammy, you don’t have to apologize for not being here with me,” Fergal said.
“You guys should be enjoying your grandchildren and your retirement as much as possible, not looking after your adult son.  I’m a 36 year old man.  I can take care of myself.”
“Yes but that doesn’t stop me worrying about you.”
“Me too,” his father piped in.
“You don’t have to worry.  I’m able to get around find and I get help with the things I need help with.  I even had dinner with Rami yesterday and he cut my steak for me,” Fergal informed him, a small smile playing on his lips.  “My friends have now become my slaves.”
“That boy is a sweetheart,” Leonie mused.  “Tell him I say hello.”
“Will do.”
As he continued speaking with his parents, he felt an overwhelming sense of warmth.  Even an entire ocean away, he could feel the worry but confidence of his parents, especially when he explained his rehab routine to them and let them know how much everything hurt.  It was something he never took for granted: the fact that, despite being thousands of miles away, it felt like they were always right beside him, encouraging him and putting 100% of their faith in him every step of the way.

Money In The Bank Review
Tumblr media
Father’s Day in Chicago, Illinois was a treat for all the for that were in attendance for WWE Money in the Bank last night. It has been seven years since Money in the Bank was held in Chicago inside the Allstate Arena in 2011. That year the main event featured John Cena defending the WWE Championship against Chicago native, CM Punk. Punk would defeat Cena in what was Punk’ s “last day” in WWE weeks after Punk’s famous pipe bomb promo on RAW.
Now to last night’s action. Five titles were defended including one being on the Kickoff Show. There were two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches featuring male superstars and female superstars and three matches that involve rivals. Each match last night built off each other, making Money in the Bank a great view.
Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass (SmackDown Live)
The opening contest to Money in the Bank came from SD Live. A rematch from Backlash between Daniel Bryan against Big Cass. Bryan submitted Cass at Backlash a month ago and it did not sit well with Big Cass. After losing at Backlash, Big Cass still talking about “A good big man always beats a good little man”, and how Bryan go home to be husband to his wife Brie Bella and a father to their daughter push this rivalry even further into last night’ s match. Even though Big Cass is a 7-foot tall big man, he still could not hang with the veteran Daniel Bryan in the ring. Big Cass would submit to the Heel Hook again thus Daniel Bryan being victorious again.
Intercontinental Championship (RAW)
The first title defense of the main card came from Monday Night RAW. The King Slayer, Seth Rollins defended the Intercontinental Championship against Elias. A rivalry that started with Rollins interrupting an Elias concert for his upcoming match. After a successful match, Rollins stand on the announce table celebrating when Elias smashed his guitar on the back of Rollins. Forwarding to last night’s match, one could argue as the one of the highlight matches from last night. Whatever Rollins threw at Elias, Elias responded. Whatever Elias threw at Rollins, Rollins responded. A back and forward match between two great competitors where on numerous occasions, Elias could have won the IC Title. In the end however, Rollins would outsmart Elias with a roll-up pinfall victory and retain the IC Title.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
The first of two Money in the Ladder Matches featured the women superstars. Four women superstars from RAW and four women superstars from SD Live competing for the opportunity of a lifetime. Alexis Bliss, Ember Moon, Natalya, and Sasha Bank from RAW along with Lana, Naomi, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair from SD Live battling to become the second-ever Ms. Money in the Bank. These eight women put on a fabulous showing with athleticism from Moon, Naomi, and Flair to the get dirty with ladders from Banks, Natalya, Lana, and Lynch to the pick me spot wisely of Bliss. At one point of time six of the eight women will racing to the briefcase on two ladders. Some fell on ladders, others slammed into other ladders. In the end of the match, The Goddess, Evil Barbie, Alexis Bliss was the one standing at the top of the ladder holding the briefcase. Alexis Bliss-Ms. Money in the Bank, but her night was not over here.
SmackDown Live Women’s Championship
The first of two women’s championship matches came from SD Live. The champion Carmella defending against the Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka. The surprise of the night came from this match. In a match where Carmella was on the verge of losing the title, an unknown person came up onto the apron dressed as Asuka. This person would reveal himself to James Ellsworth. With shock on Asuka’s face as well as the WWE Universe, Carmella took the opportunity to superkick Asuka and retain her SD Live Women’s Championship.
WWE Championship Last Man Standing Match (SmackDown Live)
The title of SD Live, the WWE Championship was defended in a Last Man Standing Match. A rivalry that began as a dream WrestleMania match turned into a bitter rivalry in this last match between the champion, The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles against The Artist, Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura defeated Styles a few weeks ago to pick the stipulation of their match and as you can see it was a Last Man Standing Match. To win this match one has to incapacitate their opponent for a count of ten. This match was a great way end a bitter rivalry. Chairs, announce tables, steel steps, low-blows, Styles-clash, Kinshasa, Phenomenal Forearms, everything you could image happened in this match. A low-blow by Styles to Nakamura outside of the ring by the announce table after Nakamura got Styles first, AJ Styles rolled into the ring and delivered a third and final Phenomenal Forearm, driving Nakamura and himself through the announce table. Nakamura could not answer the ten count and AJ Styles retained the WWE Championship.
RAW Women’s Championship
In a match that was put together unusually with the champ challenging the challenger, this match had a surprising ending to it as the SD Live women’s championship match. This match was between the champion, Nia Jax and the challenger, Rowdy Ronda Rousey. This was Rousey’s first singles match and second overall match in WWE. For most of the match Nia Jax dominated Rousey. It looked like Jax would easily defend her title but Rousey would the momentum would get ready to apply the patented armbar and capture her first title in WWE, an special guest would interject in the match. That person would be Ms. Money in the Bank, Alexis Bliss. With briefcase in hand, Bliss would assault Rousey reportedly with the briefcase and then Nia Jax as well. Taking Rousey out of the picture and with a wounded champ, Bliss would cash-in her briefcase on the champ. With a DDT and Twisted Bliss from the top rope, The Goddess, Evil Barbie would become the new RAW women’s champion. Bliss is now a five-time women’s champion and a three-time Raw women’s champion.
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match (Main Event)
The main event of MITB was the second MITB Ladder Match featuring the male superstars from both RAW and SD Live. Kevin Owens, Bobby Roode, Finn Balor, and The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman from RAW along with The Miz, Rusev, Samoa Joe, and Kofi Kingston of the New Day from SD Live competing for the lucrative briefcase. As always the MITB Ladder match providing great excitement with the male superstars. Hitting each other with ladders. Slamming each other on ladders. Jumping off ladders onto each other. Ladders being used to its fullest in this match both in the ring and outside the ring. At one point in the match six of the eight superstar ganged up on Braun Strowman at the entrance way piling ladders on top of the Monster. The other superstar not involved in the gang-up was The Miz who tried to sneak his way to the briefcase but was cut down by Samoa Joe. Moments later the Monster would rise from the pile of ladders where Samoa Joe, Rusev, and Kevin Owens would jump the Monster again. Owens brought a table and set it up for Joe and Rusev to place the Monster onto for Owens to jump off an enormous ladder onto the Monster. That would not happen last night as it did on the final Monday Night Raw before MITB. Strowman fought off Joe and Rusev, then proceeded to the enormous ladder with KO. As KO was trying to get off the ladder, Strowman grabbed Owens and throw his the ladder through the equipment table, taking Owens out of the match for good. The Monster then would wreak havoc on the other six competitors, clearing the path to the Money in the Bank briefcase. Braun Strowman-Monster in the Bank.

A Brief History of WWE 'Monday Night Raw'
Courtesy WWE.com
Twenty-five years ago, the very first episode of Monday Night Raw was broadcast on television. While sports entertainment was already a huge industry by 1993, most shows were pre-recorded, showing highlights from matches that happened days or weeks earlier. Raw, however, was revolutionary—the first episode broadcast live from New York City’s Manhattan Center.
On the 25th Anniversary of Raw, we look back at the show’s legacy, alongside quotes from iconic superstars like Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, and Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
The Monday Night Wars and The Attitude Era
For the first few years of its life, Raw enjoyed successful ratings, but the show didn’t really come into its own until it had some serious competition. Starting in 1995, Raw went toe-to-toe with WCW Nitro, and the two shows shared a heated rivalry. In order to compete against WCW’s beloved talent like Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Kevin Nash, WWE tried something new: “The Attitude Era.”
[RELATED1]
During The Attitude Era, WWE went out of their way to push the envelope in ways that had never been done on primetime television, from the vulgar, beer-chugging “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s rivalry with Vince McMahon to Triple-H and his crotch-chopping D-Generation X teammates going so far as to actually “invade” a WCW event. This era is notable for introducing a number of now-famous superstars, including Austin, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Angle, and Foley.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE superstar and current VP of Talent, Live Events and Creative at WWE: “It's hard for me to not look at the Attitude Era and say how great it was, for us as performers, for the company [and] for the fans. Prior to the Attitude Era, we would talk in the locker room and be reminiscing, [saying] 'You ever think it'll get as big as it was in the '80s?' And [then] six months later, everywhere we turned, it was sold out and people were going crazy. But when I look back at that time...I go, 'How could that era have not been a success?’ You had Sean Michaels and the Undertaker and Brett Hart. And you had Hulk Hogan at some point. You had Mick Foley, Rock, Austin, DX, me…you just had so many just legendary, unbelievable performers."
Mick Foley, WWE Hall-of-famer and former superstar "Mankind": “I don't know if it was like a dramatic departure from what WWE had been doing. I think the characters became more believable, more relatable. And I think a key thing, more so than the word 'Attitude,' was that you had four or five characters all hitting their stride at the same time. And we played off each other really well. We pushed each other. There was a definite competition among each other, and we all seemed to bring out the best in one another. So it was a competition and a camaraderie, and I think it was more the chemistry of those top five or six guys than any one word.”
[RELATED2]
Kurt Angle, WWE Hall-of-famer and current WWE Raw General Manager: “We were able to say and do things that you normally don't on TV and I thought that was kind of cool. I was able to stretch my character a little bit better. You know, it was just a lot of fun. There were things I said that, if we said it today, gosh, we'd get in trouble! [Laughs] But it was a lot of fun.”
The often-discussed turning point in the Monday Night Wars was something that no one could’ve seen coming. When Mankind (Mick Foley) won the WWE Championship in a surprise victory on Raw, the results were leaked early on WCW Nitro. Instead of helping WCW, the plan backfired spectacularly, as 600,000 viewers changed the channel to see Mankind finally get his due after years of being the underdog.
Foley: “I'm always flattered by it. I never expected it, because I just didn't see myself as a WWE title guy. I saw myself as a guy who set up people for title runs, not as a guy who got one. And so I never put much importance in it, I didn't realize how important it was until the moment I held that championship in the air. So it was highly unexpected, and it was just something that our fans really embraced, and kind of took on an added importance when WCW gave away the outcome to our show. And instead of staying away from WWE programming that night, people flocked to it. Overnight, my image changed, among wrestling fans to some degree, but changed dramatically within the business, as to what my importance was as a performer.
[RELATED3]
“The momentum really seemed to be in [WCW]’s favor, and they made a tactical error, and paid for it. And I think they underestimated how much stock the wrestling fans put into the hard work that I had put into the business for a long time. I think it really meant something to people to see that hard work being rewarded.”
“Ruthless Aggression”
When WWE finally bought WCW in 2001, it was time to change gears. Vince McMahon declared “Ruthless Aggression” the new era of Raw, and introduced a new superstar to face off against Kurt Angle—John Cena. Granted, the John Cena introduced in 2002 isn’t quite the John Cena we know today. (He touted “A degree in Thuganomics” and wore a Master Lock necklace), but his rise to stardom was swift. Soon, he became the “face” of WWE much in the same way as Austin and Hogan were in the past.
The era also highlighted a number of technical performers, including Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, and (perhaps most famously) Brock Lesnar, the now-current Universal Champion. Says Angle, “I liked the “Ruthless Aggression Era, that’s when we switched from characters to wrestling. I really enjoyed the [breadth] of my athletic ability in that era.”
The Women’s Revolution and the “New Era”
In the early 2010s, WWE’s developmental divisions got a huge overhaul. Rebranded as NXT, the league cultivated a number of now-famous talents, including Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor. After a few years of Raw and its partner show Smackdown sharing WWE talent, McMahon reinstated the “brand split,” with each show having its own set of superstars. Notable superstars currently on the Raw brand include Reigns, Lesnar, Samoa Joe, and, of course, Braun Strowman. Strowman’s meteoric rise to stardom started in 2016, and his mind-blowing stunts on Raw have garnered millions of Youtube views.
[RELATED4]
The men’s division wasn’t the only part of Raw to get a huge facelift. In 2016, the “Divas” division got officially rebranded to the “Women’s division,” thanks to a combination of fan demand and the massive popularity of “The Four Horsewomen”: Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks. Banks makes it clear that she wanted to change the division from the very beginning.
Banks: “For me, that was always the goal. It's so crazy, when I was getting signed, I was heading down to Florida Championship Wrestling, [a pre-NXT developmental brand]. They were still doing bikini matches and I remember just being so terrified [about them.] And I went out and I bought so many swimsuits. I'm not a model. I'm not a diva. So when I got actually signed, the first thing they said [was], ‘We’re not doing those matches anymore.' And my heart was so happy. I was like ‘Thank you, Jesus!’ [laughs]. I had all my receipts and I returned those bathing suits right back.”
Levesque: “I think the world is in complaining state of mind about a lot of things. I feel like the era we're in now, I feel like we're sort of on the cusp of wildness. When I look at the talent base this year, when I look at the talent we have on the roster…Man, it's deep. Is it fire on every single cylinder yet? Nope. But it's right near there. And when it does, I think it's just gonna explode again. The current era, all these things are happening right now. Raw, Smackdown, NXT—you just have all these crazy, great things happening. That's never existed before. And I felt like this was gonna be one of those eras that sneaks up on you. Listen, when the Attitude Era was happening at first, it's not like we all thought, ‘Oh, isn't this magical?’ It was just crazy time frame. And you look at it later and go, ‘Boy, I didn't realize how special that was.’”
Angle: “Back in the Attitude Era it was all about character. Nowadays, it's about what you can do in that ring, and that's what the fans demand these days. They want a legit world-class wrestler in that ring that can put on a four- or five-set match. The demand has changed, and you've got to really be able to roll with that demand. A lot of people ask me, 'What is the best era of wrestling?' [It’s] right now."
Foley: “I don't catch it every week like I used to, but in a way that's fun, because I'll turn on the TV and I'll be like, ‘Whoa, when did Jason Jordan get be so entertaining? Or, ‘Wow, this Elias character is not only moving up as a character, but his songwriting skills are becoming more adept.’ And then I'll say, ‘When did Drew Gulak become fun to watch?’ Every couple weeks there are surprises in store for me. I still enjoy it. I think it's a credit to the show that they can take somebody who is watching every week, and give them something to look forward to every Monday. And then for people like me, and literally millions of other people, it's just nice to know it's there so that when we go by the channel, we find ourselves gravitating towards it.”
The Future
So what’s next for WWE Raw? It’s hard to say, especially with cable TV facing the cord-cutting era. But Levesque has made it clear that Raw will survive by adapting with the times, just like it did for the past 25 years. “Monday Night Raw has been on the air for 25 years. I know that we're just getting started. I know that 25 years from now, no matter what format it's in—where it lives, and where it exists, and whether it's arriving through a new chip that's directly in our head—we'll be there.”
WWE celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night RAW on January 22 with a star-studded show featuring current superstars and past legends. Check your local TV listings.
