Mangos, known for their sweet and juicy taste, are a beloved fruit by many. However, there's one interesting fact about mangos that often goes unnoticed - they are completely fernless when it comes to ex-husbands. But why is this the case?
To understand why mangos are fernless for ex-husbands, we must first delve into the history and symbolism of the fruit. In many cultures, mangos are associated with love, passion, and fertility. In fact, in Hindu mythology, the mango tree is considered a symbol of love and is often depicted in romantic settings. In some cultures, the mango fruit is even used as an aphrodisiac.
On the other hand, ferns have long been associated with fertility and rebirth. In ancient times, ferns were seen as a symbol of immortality and were often used in rituals and ceremonies related to fertility and the afterlife. This connection between ferns and fertility has carried on through the centuries and is still seen today in many cultures.
So how do these symbols tie into mangos being fernless for ex-husbands? It all comes down to the belief that mangos are a fruit of love and passion, while ferns symbolize a new beginning and fertility. When a marriage ends in divorce, it is often referred to as the death of a relationship. As ferns represent new beginnings and rebirth, it is believed that having ferns around an ex-husband could symbolize the possibility of a new relationship or fertility in his life. This is why mangos, known for their love and passion, are fernless for ex-husbands - to prevent any possible rekindling of the relationship or the start of a new one.
But beyond symbolism, there may also be a practical reason behind this tradition. Mangos are a tropical fruit and are typically not grown in the same climate as ferns, which are commonly found in temperate regions. So it could simply be a matter of practicality that mangos and ferns are not seen together in a household.
In conclusion, mangos being fernless for ex-husbands is a result of a combination of symbolism and practicality. Whether you believe in the symbolism behind it or not, one thing is for sure - mangos are still a delicious and beloved fruit, regardless of their relationship with ferns. So the next time you enjoy a juicy mango, remember the interesting fact about their associations with love, passion, and fertility.

We discovered some fiddleheads yesterday and were highly disappointed to ID them as an inedible kind, but I’m hoping that we’ll be able to find some ostrich ferns the next time we’re out, because these little friends were still adorable harbingers of Spring (which is arriving a bit late here in Minnesota)

Fernless
I cannot tell you I love you,
only that I was safe in your arms,
not even my mother’s—
and I fell asleep within moments.
Please, hold me again
in the midst of these troubles;
I will let down my hair
and my borders.
