I like to think that the whole concept of all fell dragons being born twins happens in the main universe, not just in that of the Fell Xenologue. Imagine the angst… Alear would have had a twin. What happened to them? Did they get along with Alear? How did they die? Does Alear ever remember that they even exist? Did Alear ever talk about them with Lumera, pre-1000 year coma?

Veyle would have had a twin. How did they die? Did Alear know them, too? Did Alear fail to protect them both, and as a result became even more protective of Veyle? Does Veyle have survivor’s guilt?

Give me your head canons, your ideas, your fic recs… I want all the content

Read this first, as this is an extension to that idea.

This will not be as long.

So adding to that idea is a particular moment for the climax where Robin's S support (works for any) is killed right before their eyes, and engulfed in rage releases the Fell Dragon's power. I imagine it as Robin snapping similar to Gohan's SS2 transformation in the Cell games.

You know how Eloysian Fell dragons have a lot of glowing spots? And how Sombron's hood glow at least occasionally faded in and out? I think Fell dragons should be able to control the glowing and use it for long-distance communication at night like a lot of bioluminescent deep-sea creatures do.

Alear and Veyle are the only Fell dragon claded in white. While their clothing features other colors such as golden/blue and red for Alear and pink and turquoise for Veyle, the dominant color is white.

However in their "Fell equivalent"

Their dominant color is black.

White is a bright color but when combined with others it actually accuentate their presence unlike black that darkens and hide the presence of other color as it's more catching to the eye.

This link to how Sombron's main color in magenta/black tone.

However, this doesn't not apply to Rafal and Nel

Rafal and Nel also feature white in their outfit however, the dominant color is neither black nor white, it's turquoise/pale blue for Nel and pink for Rafal.

We do see that Alear and Veyle dressed in their "Fell version" are closer to Sombron's tone as opposed to the rest of the game. However, in the rest of the game their dominant color is white.

Nel and Rafal sort of break this pattern. Their outfit like Alear and Veyle don't fit with the pattern Sombron wears even though in their "Fell version" Past Alear wears similar tone and Veyle as well. However, they also don't fit the pattern of having white being the dominant color but it being blue and pink.

Funnily enough when I made the design for Alear's fan siblings, I ended up respecting the pattern drawn by Alear and Veyle

As you can see, they have the same palette as Evil Veyle during the 17-21 portion of the game : dominant black and a color around red/magenta. No white.

While Nel and Rafal happens to share a similar color theme with Veyle and Alear, they still stand out as those color they share being the dominant one in their outfit compared to how in Veyle and Alear's case, those color are dominated by the white.

Nel's outfit wearing armory and being in tattern imo is going with how she is the only twin that actually protect her brother. She is always on the front, so she needs to be prepared for that but it ends up with her clothing to be damaged

Also, one thing that intested me is how big Nel's dragon stone is. If you compared it to Alear's, it's big enough to be on Rafal's chest. Veyel however can keep it in her pocket.

Another thing is the motif that is common to Nel and Rafal's outfit, nowhere to be found in Alear and Veyle's design, even less Sombron.

The diamond pattern in gold and black for both twins doesn't exist in Alear or Veyle's design.

Also it should be noted that Rafal wear on his sleeves and on his chest the pattern of the eye that can only be found in a link to Gregory and Griss's design but doesn't exist in Sombron's or may be a reference to Sombron's 3rd eye.

The twins also share a pendant. There is no sign of this motif on Alear and Veyle's design nor Sombron's

It looks like a thunder ?

But the most striking difference between the Fell siblings and the Fell twins is that lack between the clash of white and black.

According to the interview the team had with Nintendo, for each country and faction, Tei choose one theme/season and color for them to make them stand out.

For the Divine dragon, he choose white and for the Fell dragon black to make them stand out. Hence why Sombron and Alear and Veyle's outfit are black and that in their regular version Alear and Veyle's outfit are in white to show their opposition to their father and siding with the Divine dragon faction.

This however isn't present in Nel and Rafal's outfit with the dominant color being the pink and blue.

In their dragonic form they share a pattern of black like Sombron's, however, their drgonic form sharing the color of their outif confirms what I said about their dominant color.

However, Rafal's great Fell dragon form is also a different color

Seeing Nel, Sombron and Rafal you would think that Fell dragon are necessarily black yet for some reason here Rafal's form is white. Hmmm.

Anyway, I think that the distinctinction between Nel Rafal and Alear Veyle's outfit might also be linked to how they hail from different world. That makes me curious about the fashion of the Fell dragons in Engage
