I see people saying how Aziraphale changing the Bentley to fit his preferences is a symbol for how he wants to change Crowley to fit his preferences but like… I don’t even think it was Aziraphale’s fault the Bentley changed for him?
It’s established that the Bentley is an extension of Crowley, and as we all know, Crowley loves Aziraphale. So in turn, the Bentley loves Aziraphale. And that’s why it does all these things for him: playing the music he likes, looking pretty for him, feeding him… that’s because *Crowley* wants to do those things for Aziraphale. Unlike Crowley who is inhibited by his fear of messing things up, the Bentley has no such qualms and is perfectly happy fulfilling Aziraphale’s every whim. The Bentley is literally the purest form of Crowley, and this purest form of Crowley wants to please Aziraphale always.
During the whole exchange where Crowley yelled at Aziraphale to speed up the car, he said something along the lines of “the car doesn’t seem to want to.” And he’s right! Aziraphale put his foot on the pedal, fully intending to speed, but the Bentley refused to because it knows Aziraphale wouldn’t actually want that. It’s only when Crowley threatened his books that the Bentley began speeding out of its own volition!
None of this was Aziraphale’s doing, it was the Bentley—infused with Crowley’s essence—that wants to care for Aziraphale and make him happy. Aziraphale doesn’t want to *change* the Bentley, just as he doesn’t want to change Crowley - he’s perfectly happy loving them (both) as they are.
