01.07.2017 Ab jetzt heisst es VORSICHT

Vermutlich soll genau dies das Motto unserer Reise sein. Heute sollte es ein entspannter Tag im Farup Sommerland werden. Strahlender Sonnenschein lud ein. Das Sommerland ist ein kleiner Freizeitpark, nur 20 km von hier. 2002 waren wir schonmal dort. Mit Badeland und Achterbahn. Soweit alles gut - bis die neue, ach so praktische Gürteltasche auf der Toilette liegen blieb… Mit den Geldkarten, Ausweisen der Kinder und mir, Handy und Kamera. Panik. Karte sperren lassen. Überlegungen, ob wir trotzdem weiter können. Tränen. Ich werde nie den Augenblick vergessen, als der Mitarbeiter im Imbiss mit der Tasche aus der Küche kam… Sie wurde abgegeben!!!! Alles drin (außer das Lehrgeld von ca 100 Euro). Erleichterung pur. Auf der Rückfahrt ein Fast-Zusammenstoß. Nun war glasklar, ab jetzt müssen wir die Vorsicht pachten. Und das führte eben dazu, dass wir wegen “Eis-Sturm” (so fühlt es sich gerade an), die Markise abgebaut haben. Und uns ins Zelt kuscheln…

7/26/15- Rollercoasters & Dogs

This morning me and everyone else on the exchange woke up bright and early and boarded a bus to Farup Sommerland! It is an amusement park like Six Flags, except way cooler and strikingly different than any amusement park in America. The amusement park does not check to see if you have a ticket- they just trust that you bought one. Also, they do not have metal detectors and don’t search your bags. The park allows dogs to come in (I, being an avid dog lover, was stoked about this). On top of typical roller coasters, the park had obstacle courses, trampolines, and playgrounds. There is also a waterpark section, but it was too cold for that. We spent all day there and headed back to our host families bonded and thoroughly exhausted.
