2024’s list is ready to go! See slide 2 for the year 5 “Best Of” list, slide 3 for guidelines, and slide 4 for info on RCDB day on May 30th. There were a couple tweaks to the guidelines, so please be sure to take a look.
Everything starts on May 1st. Be sure to use the tag #coastermaynia and #coastermaynia2024 so others can find your work and tag @coastermaynia to be shared! Feel free to work ahead, but posts will not be featured until each coaster's day.
Thank you again for all of your suggestions! The use of the form made putting the list together much quicker and easier! Looks like this year’s unintentional theme is “space”. 😄

You guys know me when it comes to steam punk inspired designs! I felt like this design was very much Rita but instead of racing on land…she races in the sky! Very similar in design and personality, but definitely different characters! This coaster is sooo on my bucket list now!!! The theming is beautiful!

Day 14 of Coaster Maynia 2023 - De Vliegende Hollander
Hehehe me and my pirates! Would you still love me if I had scurvy? Arg….just forget about it. Sounds like this coaster was based off of the Flying Dutchman! So….ghost pirate design! I really like the colors I chose for this character, feels very deep sea and gloomy! I imagine this salty sea dog is a bit bitter and cold from being stuck in limbo out at sea.
So close to being halfway through Coaster Maynia! We can do this!!!

Day 13 of Coaster Maynia 2023 - AfterShock
Another cool coaster with not much theme…so another skater design it is!! This one I went more with a specialized speed skater, the skates are so funky looking! I must say using reference photos of skaters I think has really improved my pose diversity, I think at some point I’ll be using a lot of my own photos of myself skating for reference, once I’ve gotten better! So close to being halfway with coaster maynia as well…I hope those following along are enjoying my entries and if they are participating having just as much fun as I am!

Day 12 of Coaster Maynia 2023 - Flucht von Novgorod
Now this ride has some interesting lore! I watched a POV as well and the dark ride elements are so cool, this is def on the coaster bucket list! I decided to run with the “water wolf” concept and made my character a wolf man sprit that haunted the waters and was believed to be seen before the start of a flood!

For days 12 & 20 of @coastermaynia, Kostya (Novgorod) and Matthias (Wicker Man). I went all out with this one, just had to get Big Drawing energy out of my system. Kostya is a powerful mage with a curse that transforms him into a violent wolf and he was also separately cursed with immortality after helping to destroy the Wizard Council. Matthias ran away from home so that he could be safe and live a normal life but instead found out that hes kind of a reborn god with very powerful magic.

Wasn’t sure at first how I wanted to approach this design until I decided to go with a roller skater gal! This probably isn’t the last design I do of a coaster character on roller skates! Currently love drawing characters who skate as its currently a huge thing I do now, lessons and everything! This skater girl definitely speed skates, and maybe she can go backwards!

Wanted to go with a Dragon rider girl for todays design! I actually used a photo or a girl horse riding as reference for the pose haha! It’s been helpful and really getting some new dynamic poses for these designs when I use references. This year I’ve really wanted to push myself as an artist with poses, designs, and backgrounds!

Day 6 of Coaster Maynia 2023 - Toutatis
I was a bit worried when I approached this character at first! It was a different challenge for me. But the end result is something I’m super proud of the concept I came up with! I have a vague knowledge of Asterix, seeing its main characters around every once in awhile. The park itself also looks incredibly charming! Definitely on the bucket list now!
