Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
"I just think that the John and Aeryn story is more like most people's stories," began Browder. "You know, in any relationship there's no linearity. It's not always, 'Just do this and now you've reached it.' I've been married for 36 years, yeah, almost 36 years I've been married, and I can guarantee you that one day you're going to try to kill each other, and the other day you're gonna be just so into each other over time. And so I think that it's real. I think it feels real to people. I think people feel the desires. They feel the pain that people cause one another. They feel the impossibility of it." He continued:
"You know, you can be in a relationship and you can be madly in love, and something in life is gonna pull you apart. That could be work. It could be kids. It could be finances. It could be a pandemic, and it's going to stress your relationship, and that's what makes it real. That's what makes it interesting. And the fact that [...] you want to see them together is a testament to the writing staff and to Claudia Black. It's chemistry, which is the metaphor, but you take these [...] two vials, you pour them together, and you end up with something which is effervescent ."
Farscape premiered on Sci-Fi Channel on 19 March 1999. Starring Ben Browder, Claudia Black, Virginia Hey, Anthony Simcoe, Gigi Edgley, Lani John Tupu, Jonathan Hardy, Tammy Macintosh, and Wayne Pygram, the show ran for four seasons and concluded with a two-part miniseries in 2004.

"My name is John Crichton, an astronaut. A radiation wave hit and I got shot through a wormhole. Now I'm lost in some distant part of the universe on a ship – a living ship, full of strange alien life forms. Help me. Listen, please. Is there anybody out there who can hear me? I'm being hunted by an insane military commander. I’m doing everything I can. I'm just looking for a way home..."

Thank you so much to everybody who has celebrated with us! It's been great to see everybody's creations this past week, and if you continue to tag any creations celebrating the anniversary over the coming week, we'll be continuing to check the tags and sharing them! Farscape really was one of a kind, and it's amazing to see the love for it still alive and strong!
In case anyone missed it (I can't really seem to find much hype about it on Tumblr), BOOM studios has a kick-starter going on for Farscape comics to celebrate the 25th anniversary. There is some pretty cool stuff for it (archived comics and a brand new book with new content, also a stretch goal which I hope is reached for a signed poster from Gigi Edgley). To the 10 people on my dash who still care about this show, please go check it out :D

In the countdown for the Farscape 25th anniversary, fans on Tumblr have a daily themed tag to celebrate and today’s theme was favorite season. I decided to try to paint scenes from season three. It was quite a challenge and, of course, took more time than I allotted, but it was fun. I’ve never done a painting like this and I just winged it where to place the…
The hotly anticipated successor to Dogs Must Die has arrived. This time around I’m leading Chip by the hand through Farscape to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The Sci-Fi Channel’s dampest, foam rubber-est, most subversive and tangible original series is our topic for the next 50 or so episodes.
First we start at, and before, the beginning; with a look at Season 1, Episode 1: Premiere, and some highlights from its years of development.
This will be a premium show available to any donors in any amount on the Chip and Ironicus patreon, with the episode on each season’s premiere available for free. But, once our Patreon reaches $2,600 per month, the show will be free in its entirety.
I had to join Tumblr just to enjoy all the Farscape 25th anniversary content. My own small contribution is a series I recently started writing about language, daily life between episodes, and the slow growth of John and Aeryn's relationship.
Such a special show, so glad others still love it too.
kaleidoscope and exhausted, for a farscape drabble💜💜.
Oof, I am finally answering this over a year and a half later! This happens to sort of align with my response to today's Farscape 25th anniversary prompt (Day Three: Favorite Season); though my favorite season is very hard to choose and varies depending on which factor I decide to weight more heavily each time I answer it, I guess my answer is quite often The Peacekeeper Wars.
It's Deke's first time on a market planet unsupervised except for Aunt Chi, who's less hindrance to his impulses than instigator. She chases after him across stalls, investigating new sights, flavors, sounds. Shared giggles blend in sonorous crescendo.
Upon return to Moya, Deke’s snoring in the rear of the transport pod.
"Your adventure really tuckered him out," John observes.
Chiana shrugs. "Guess narls are powered by curiosity."
Gratitude is expressed for birthday babysitting. Chiana nudges Aeryn as the latter lifts her sleeping son. "Happy to, as long as you didn't spend your anniversary making another."
John looks wistful; Aeryn, horrified.
It's day one of our Farscape 25th anniversary countdown and today we're celebrating our favourite episodes!
Are you a fan of Crichton getting stuck in goofy situations of his own making? Love the heartfelt moments between the whole crew? Are you here for Scorpy being sadistic? Or do you thrive off the angst and heartbreak?
