New and improved Marinette reference sheet!
I’m redoing the core six’s reference sheets like this one (so Adrien, Alya, Nino, Chloe and Lila) so everything is nice clean and professional.
And I just like drawing Marinette.
And keeping up my motif of visual storytelling.
So Marinette and Ladybug’s designs in Season 1-3 reflect her more childish and creative nature. I love her canon pigtails, I think they could be so effective for visual storytelling if they just tried for once.
They’re a very childish haircut, and Marinette is 14 in this version. In her final year of middle school and is still clinging to childhood.
But in the Season 3 finale she is made the Guardian after Fu’s death, and she is forced to grow up.
Plus, Marinette is a control freak, her hair untied shows her being forced to grow up but also loosing control over her life. So double meaning!
And she looses her bright and colourful clothing in favour of darker colours, reflecting her new mindset and mourning over Fu.
And finally, her refreshed Ascended form ahahahaaaa...
Gee I sure hope Fanbug didn’t promise herself she wouldn’t do this!
Jokes aside, yeah I’m reworking the powered up/ascended forms.
Mainly because I’m redefining them in the story. And honestly they were just detailed for the sake of adding detail. I went too far with them.
So I’m scaling it down and using them to reflect more than just “more powerful”.
So voila! There she is, my current version of my Ladybug redesign!

First off i need to say the dance scene in the recent chapter? Completely and utterly inspired by crime au. Once a decided to write a mumscarian fic, i knew i needed a ball scene. (Okay sorry, fan moment, anyways-)

I was thinking what sort of contrived nonsense they will pull to keep Chloé as a secondary antagonist, but I finally figured out.
Just like official-fanbug was thrown this idea around, prime timeline Marinette, and Lila will be revealed as the physical manifestations of the deity of Kwamis, and the original evil Miraculous were invented to be against.
But because of the metamorphic abilities of Butterfly miraculous, Lila, like other freak homunculi children, will be degenerating, so either she will use her wish selfishly to make herself properly human (therefore (temporarily) undoing the effects of Butterfly miraculous), and the gang will take pity on her to make everyone proper people, despite Marinette's objections.
(You can fill in whatever Rian Johnson-esque plot twist before this conclusion.)
Timeline gets rebooted for the second time, Gabriel returns back to life as a minor decoy antagonist of the evil rich cult (alongside Colt, and Tomoe's husband), Chloé becomes inexplicably becomes one of the not-Talons of the not-Court of Owls, and Sabine becomes the ringleader the evil rich cult, thus our main antagonist, and Chloé's boss.
However, because of Gabriel's wish in Timeline 1, he and Emilie can never get together after Adrien's now natural birth, and since his other options are out (besides Harry), he focuses on Sabine instead, and now Marinette has to avoid the two from getting together, on top of many stuff that is either added on, or not resolved in the Lila arc.

Came up with a fanbug for an RP group I'm in right now, and I dug up some old Sharpies for the colors. Nothing complicated, just wanted to make them bright. Might do something more polished later, but for now, meet Ferriflosp!
They're based on cotton candy (AKA "fairy floss") and fairy wasps. Originally, I wanted them to be an extension of the Shishkabug line, since ants and wasps are fairly close in the order Hymenoptera, but then I saw their little feather duster wings, and it made more sense to set them up as close relatives of Hunnabees instead.
A single Ferriflosp is too small to be caught on its own, similar to Popticks, but instead of making the individuals bigger, you would need to trick them into swarming a larger Bugsnak and spinning themselves into a much bigger cotton candy shape. They are usually peaceful, but when gathered together to feed on chocolate, they can become a lot more aggressive because of their drive to protect one another. Unfortunately, this also means that if you scare one or two, the rest of the swarm will come to their rescue. The best way to escape an angry swarm is to hide underwater, since they would dissolve on contact if they didn't know not to avoid water at all costs.
Blue-pink Ferriflosp are most common, generally speaking, while orange-green and yellow-purple tie for second place. Mismatched Ferriflosp (ie. orange-yellow, purple-green, blue-orange, pink-green, etc) are uncommon, but tend to swarm together in larger groups than other Ferriflosp. Lastly, it is possible to find small black-white swarms with rainbow stingers and legs, but very few have ever been witnessed by Grumpus eyes.

Hollow Knight fancharacters I will someday draw:
Durna: A Soul Warrior currently unaffected by the plague who keeps the cracked focal stone in her head covered in bandages. Not entirely aware that she’s long outlived the order she only vaguely recalls. Tends to come across a lot ruder and less patient than her actual nature accounts for because she spends most of her time roaming the kingdom trying to find some way to deal with this awful headache of hers. Can often be seen meditating... and drumming her fingers in barely-contained irritation at the same time. Occasionally lurks about the Colosseum to ‘blow off steam’ and seems to have a positive relationship with the Volt Twisters that dwell there, though she’ll claim in a heartbeat they’re ‘not much for talking’. She has definitely come away with a minor addiction to eating lumaflies- she claims it helps clear her head. In her calmer, clearer moments, she betrays an erudite mind and a strong sense of personal honor.
The ‘Little Cartographer’: Gentle-tempered Vessel with short, curling horns, two of which were broken off. Traumatized by an early injury upon escaping the Abyss, they dropped their nail and hid, and were found by Cornifer. Drawn to his friendly personality, they latched onto him and have since been adopted by him and Iselda as a child. Both have, to little success, been trying to teach little Graph to defend themselves, or at least prove willing to venture beyond one of their adopted parents’ shadows, but Graph seems wholly disinclined to hone any of their weak combat skills. They also seem physically disabled, given a birth defect in one of their legs that causes them to move very slowly. Because of their shyness, they will seldom actually tolerate being addressed without immediately limping to either Cornifer or Iselda to hide behind, and they sometimes make attempts at manning the map shop’s counter with the help of written tablets and a lot of pointing.
Manmi the Lamplighter: It’s rare to see a friendly face amidst Hallownest’s ruins, and rarer still to find one in the most inhospitable part of Deepnest, but this jaunty fellow somehow manages, marching his merry way through the dark annals of the kingdom’s deepest depths. He’s not hard to find, constantly accompanied by the jangling of the lantern he carries or the jaunty song he hums to himself as he works, repairing and maintaining the crystal lumafly lanterns. The fact that he unapologetically sups on whatever corpses he finds somehow doesn’t seem to diminish his approachability that much- perhaps because most things in Deepnest are more eager to consume the living. Long a scatterbrain, Manmi would seem to be in the early stages of the plague, as his memory has been getting worse lately and sometimes he’ll find himself in a completely different part of the kingdom, singing a very different song. So far, kindly passerby have always been able to snap him out of it...

Ficlet contains: camping/road trip, polyam fluff, boys in love.
Characters are 18+
Bucky’s heart felt so full, he was absolutely smitten and not sure how he’d gotten so lucky.
He and Steve had been together since the 40s and their relationship had only grown stronger as time went on. They’d always been the other’s rock and it wasn’t until they got to know Tony that Bucky realised a piece—a Tony sized hole in his heart—had been missing.
Bucky was drowning with guilt when he realised he had feelings for Tony. He didn’t understand it, because despite his flirty nature he hadn’t developed feelings for anyone else and his love for Steve never wavered. It was when he paid closer attention during the times the three of them spent together that it dawned on him.
Steve was in the same boat but the dumbass—god, Bucky loved him—was blind to it. He helped him open his eyes and they were honest with each other, communicating openly.
They’d been lucky that Tony was interested in them both too. He was the best thing about the future, which is what a sappy Bucky and Steve weren’t shy about telling their friends. They were all blessed to have more than one amazing partner in their lives and were able to bask in the happiness of not only their love but also the love their partners shared.
There had been bumps along the road, like all relationships, but their connections only grew stronger. Aided by the fact they believed in the importance of open communication and honesty, as well as fostering each of their individual relationships, not only their dynamic as a triad. Understandably they opted to spend the majority of their time all together—Steve, Bucky and Tony wanting to be with both of the men they loved as much as they could.
It wasn’t often that they had a chance to get away from things and as their anniversary as a triad approached, they decided to celebrate it with a road trip. Just the three of them enjoying being out of the city and going on little adventures. They camped at a few places along the way, enjoying nature and making new memories.
No distractions or interruptions. They may have worn themselves out the first few days but as Tony loved to brag he was dating not one but two super soldiers. Super soldiers with super stamina, among other things, and Tony? Well, when he was well and truly spent Steve and Bucky provided better entertainment than tv ever would and with nobody else around to get an earful. At the tower, the other Avengers were glad for the break.
On a particularly beautiful night the only thing on their minds was watching the stars together, after feeling extra soft and satiated from earlier activities in the day.
Tony was pointing out constellations to Steve when Bucky walked over. The two were sitting on the grass, Steve’s arm around Tony, leaning against a log. They looked so comfortable and at ease in one another’s presence, it sent a rush of affection through him.
For a moment he just watched, thermos full of hot chocolate in his hand. They’d all been through so much but in each other they found a sort of salvation—he was so happy. Happier then he’d been in a long time.
Steve glanced over as Tony was pointing them out, curious as to why he hadn’t sat down. When he saw the expression on his face he smiled, eyes tender and knowing. Bucky was more interested in admiring his constellation.
“C’mere, Buck. Before it goes cold,” Steve teased and reached out his hand in invitation, metal fingers then slotted with his.
“Wouldn’t dream’a lettin’ that happen,” Bucky sat on the grass, angled so he could see his partner’s faces reflected in the moonlight.
They looked gorgeous, they always did. But being under the stars and by the flickering of the fire it was truly enchanting—they were enchanting.
Tony took the thermos from him with a cheeky smirk as he explained, “So you can keep staring at us.” Of course they knew the real reason, it was so Bucky and Steve could keep holding hands.
He poured some hot chocolate into a cup, “I mean, it's not our fault we’re so pretty, right Cap?”
Bucky snorted and Steve raised an eyebrow at Tony, an amused grin playing on his lips. “Who knows how he controls himself around us,” Steve quipped back.
“That’s easy sugar—I don’t,” Bucky replied with a playful grin, eyes sparkling deviously. Nothing but proud of himself.
Tony, who was sipping his drink when he started speaking, was caught off guard before he could swallow his mouthful. The hot chocolate sprayed into the air, Steve patting his back as they laughed together.

Uhh it's a little hard to explain
All of them but also none of them
It would be a case of me going through each season and changing elements of them, it's a lot broader than rewriting episode by episode
It would be me broadly going through each season explaining the new plot. But there wouldn't be a one to one "canon version" and "Fanbug version".
Sure certain episodes would still be there in spirit but would be almost unrecognizable aside from maybe settup.

Now that my villain batch is complete, I figured I should make a plan of what’s to come!
Note that most of this won’t be posted in order (knowing me) and some stuff might get added/removed depending on changes done to the rewrite wip.
I don’t have a schedule for WHEN all this will be made, that’s anyone’s guess. But I’ll do my best to be consistent unlike my old comic uploads.
I’m also going to start posting things a little differently from now on! Instead of a single character post, it’ll be multiples together. So Alix Luka and Rose would be posted together for example.

I’m redesigning Luka.
I KNOW I said I wouldn’t, and I still think he’s got a great canon design. But I really hate the snake’s power and I changing it to Future sight, and with that Viperion’s design doesn’t really match my concept anymore. So yes. Luka redesign. You got your wish.
I’m not redesigning Juleka before you ask. Don’t like her or Purple Tigress’s designs, but they’re not relevant enough in the rewrite to be redesigned, at least for now.
The “NPC” category is a little misleading.
A lot of these characters become more important to the plot of my rewrite, and most of them look like ass. They don’t look like they exist within the same universe as Marinette and Adrien, so they’re getting redesigned.
I’ll also be making a comprehensive (LOL) post explaining the new power heiarchy for the heroes (and explaining the “power up forms” idea)
Hope this gives you something to look forward to!
The next character we’ll be seeing is Marinette, she’s getting some more outfits to fit the story. You’ll see!
