thoughts on episode 8 i don’t like how people are assuming the ending song correlates to Lucy, Cooper, and Dogmeat. like, are you ignoring that there are 3 main protagonists? and one of them is not the dog? i love Dogmeat and all but you can’t just leave Maximus out. he’s been through own character development arc and has grown as person. his views have changed and he now has a real thing to stand for, and then he just gets replaced with a dog. this is slander that i won’t stand for

“Moldaver should’ve saved Lucy and Norm” “Moldaver didn’t care about Rose” “Rose was a mean to an ends” DID WE WATCH THE SAME SHOW?
In all of Moldaver’s scenes she showed how much she cared about others. She gave Cooper the incentive to question his wife, she took Rose n her small children to a safe location, she spoke to Max with kindness even as his brotherhood destroyed her home and she was dying!!!
Also genuinely where the fuck was she supposed to raise Lucy and Norm? Shady Sands was destroyed?? At least in the vaults they had clean clothes, food, shelter, and the idea of safety!!
Also the whole “she didn’t really love Rose” thing makes zero sense to me. Rose was a ghoul, when we see her she’s practically a corpse. She was probably turning from the very beginning, Moldaver kept her chained up because she knew what happens to ghouls!!!
Selfish? yes!! but it’s because she didn’t have the heart to kill the woman she loved?? like ugh it pisses me off so much how she’s painted as some asshole. she had a lot of love and care and her entire life was spent selflessly guiding others to seek the truth and question higher powers??
Moldaver was a loving woman and genuinely so aggravated at her being painted as some cruel asshole.

Can I just say I'm so happy they made Lucy like... A weird little freak. I was SOOO worried when I heard in november that the main character was a naive woman that she would be like the most boring character ever who needs to be rescued from situations and stuff.
But no, that girl is thoughtfully stroking a severed head. Smiling contently and saying "snug as a bug!" after she shoves a tracker up its nose. What is wrong with you girl I love you

Julia Masters, who was first mentioned in New Vegas, appears as a representative of REPCONN, which I think also first appeared in New Vegas
Literal New Vegas shows up
Secruritrons in the credits of final episode
Edit: The Tops and the Lucky 38 are shown in the end credit sequence, don’t remember catching the other ones
I may have missed some but you can see why I doubt they retconned New Vegas when they take so much from the game

i’ve seen a few people on here mad at the show for going with “Vault-Tec dropped the bombs themselves” but i thought that was implied?
at least in fallout 4 if you read some of the vault-tec logs, you see that some people in the company knew when the bombs were gonna drop, even at a time when it was still hypothetical

ppl be getting real mad about new vegas getting retconned in the show, but im replaying new vegas rn and honestly, like. the ncr is pretty fucked back home. they seem well put together to an extent, but the ncr was in vegas for power and its because they couldnt get it well enough back home. i wouldnt call "the ncr lost new vegas in the show canon" a retcon, its just bethesda adding on.
the soldiers in new vegas talk about how fucked the ncr is frequently, so i dont think the "fall of shady sands" labeled on the timeline was the bombing, because theres another arrow after it to indicate more time has passed pre-re-nuke and the nuking itself is unlabeled.
from my perspective 2277 could just be marking the beginning for the ncrs major decline into poverty as a faction, or when conflict with the legion became a major danger to their position.
listen i was ready to be mad at bethesda about this show too, but bad stuff happening after the events of a game being shown in the show isnt what id call retconning. they just couldve labeled the damn nuking with a year as well, but alas, they didnt and made everybody mad.
