De Formule 1 lijkt veranderingen aan het format van een weekend met een sprintrace te overwegen. Het zou de zoveelste keer zijn dat het format op de schop gaat, dit keer na klachten vanuit zowel de coureurs als de teambazen. Informele gesprekken over het wijzigen van het format zouden volgens bronnen van Motorsport.com al zijn begonnen, waardoor de wijzigingen in 2024 eventueel al doorgevoerd kunnen worden. F1 zou overwegen om het format dit keer flink op zijn kop te gooien en radicale wijzigingen door te voeren, in plaats van kleine aanpassingen te doen zoals in het verleden het geval is geweest. Dit heeft namelijk niet het gewenste resultaat opgeleverd, waardoor de koningsklasse nu overweegt om het anders aan te pakken. Er worden een paar verschillende opties genoemd. Zo zou F1 overwegen om voor de spintraces een sponsor aan te wijzen, waarna de coureurs kans maken op een bedrag dat op kan lopen tot een miljoen dollar. Ook zou men overwegen om van de sprintrace een apart kampioenschap te maken, waardoor de punten niet meetellen voor het reguliere wereldkampioenschap. Tot slot zou ook een omgekeerde startopstelling overwogen worden, waarbij het zou gaan om de top tien of zelfs de hele grid. Dit zou dan op basis van de stand bij de coureurs of de uitslag van de kwalificatie kunnen zijn. Het lijkt er dus op dat de sport ook in 2024 met een nieuw format rondom de sprintraces te maken gaat krijgen.

The new Formula 1 Sprint

I think we all know about the new formula one sprint but some of u ask what is it so I will explain it as easy as impossible. I will be ur new Formula 1 guide and writte blogs about and in some weeks I will start also a TikTok blog acc.

how does it exactly work? 

 Sprint is an additional weekend format that is used at selected Formula 1 events and offers spectators an additional shorter race on Saturday, in addition to the main race on Sunday. This new introduction is called the “sprint race” and is a new concept introduced by the Formula 1 organisation to expand the weekend program and offer viewers more action on the racetrack. Sprint will therefore be part of the Grand Prix weekend.

Where is it used ? 

Thats a question thats easy to answer the new Formula 1 sprint format will be released in six different countries: Azerbaidzhan, Austria, Belgium, Qatar, USA and Brazil. The Saturday sprint will have a length of 100 kilometres. This new format will offer spectators an additional race on Saturday on these selected race weekends, which promises exciting overtaking manoeuvres and more action on the track. The introduction of the sprint format is intended to make the Formula 1 weekend even more exciting and spectacular and offer fans an even more intense racing experience.

How long does it take ?

The length of the big price on Sunday is unchanged and lasts about 30 minutes

Are pit stops allowed?

Drivers have the opportunity to make a pit stop during the sprint race, but it is not mandatory.

Does a driver receive points in the F1 sprint and how many does he gets ?

In the F1 Sprint,  drivers get points in the top 8, where P1 gets eight points and P8 gets one point.
