I saw this movie last weekend and absolutely loved it; it was so much fun, such a delight to see this vibrant world brought to life so beautifully. I had to draw some sketches of my favorite characters! A couple different versions, just ‘cause I thought they looked neat :)

Carmine Koopa (my Koopa OC):

Resides in the Koopa Manor somewhere in the Garden Kingdom

Born into a wealthy family

Grew up in high society

Holly Koopa may be her cousin

Is very kind-hearted

Behaves like a proper lady

Is calmer than Lieutenant Jasper "Eyepatch" Koopa

Is deeply in love with Jasper (and vice versa)

Carries a parasol by summer and a hand-muff by winter

Dresses in Victorian garb

Loves Christmas

Can perform magic (she's half-Magikoopa, mind you)

Her great-grandmother was a Magikoopa

When she finds out Lieutenant Jasper's disinterest for Christmas, she does her best to help him heal from his pain that he experienced as a result of his childhood friend Penny Koopa dying from tuberculosis on Christmas (which she's able to do with the help of the Boos of the Christmas Past, Present and Yet-To-Come)

Likes to visit the Christmas market every winter

Is a huge bookworm

Loves to drink tea (especially Earl Grey)

Loves sweets

Loves the snow

Dislikes Bowser and, therefore, considers him and his Koopalings (Junior included) "uncouth"

Loves flowers

Has a secret love for dogs (especially poodles, corgis, Bichon Frisés, Shih Tzus, King Charles spaniels and Cocker spaniels)

Unlike Lieutenant Jasper, however, she doesn't like that KISS-style Koopa rock band because she thinks they look terrible

Loves Classical music

Can play a piano very well

Can also sing well (even going so far into singing Lieutenant Jasper to sleep on Christmas Eve)

Can also play a violin very well

Can dance the waltz very well (and is willing to teach Lieutenant Jasper about it as well)

I'm thinking about also drawing her in addition to writing fanfics about her interactions with Lieutenant Jasper.

I've seen another post of this and thought I should do it for my own AUs/fanfics so here we go! My own Koopa Troopa Headcanons!! (*Edited 9/21/2023)

Koopa General:

Real name is Spiny Koopa (only Bowser, Kamek, Pirate, and Spencer knows that)

Been Bowser's best friend since childhood

Is 35 years old (a year older than Bowser) (literally just googled Bowser's age and he's 34 so whoops on my behalf)*

Met and saved Spencer from the Kongs at the Jungle Kingdom when Spencer was a teen (technically adopted him. And he's 10 years older than Spencer)

Raised and trained Spencer since then

Kamek is the only father figure he has

Had no parents of his own (as far as he's aware)

Is a MAJOR bookworm

LOVE sweets and chocolate sometimes (no one else knows about this and he prefers to keep it as a secret)

Enjoys working with Pirate and believes that he's a great soldier and leader

Loves rain and thunderstorms

Has an apartment in Bowser Neo City

Has a secret love for cats

Is a Godfather for Junior and the Koopalings

HATES spiders! (isn't afraid of them. just feels like the place is filthy and needs cleaning if he sees one tiny spider)*

Spencer Paratroopa:

Was an orphan when Spiny found him (didn't have a family or a home; was completely alone)

Was 14 (turning 15 in a month) when he was adopted (is now 25 in the fics)

Became inspired to become like Spiny instantly

Is a fast learner (climbed up the ranks quick as Spiny did)

Is 2nd in Command in the Koopa Army

Usually shy and not talkative, but not afraid to order other troops if needed

Probably the most sane Koopa anyone would meet in the Koopa Army

Going through mental health issues like low self-esteem and depression (keeps it hidden well, but only Spiny, Bowser, and Kamek knows and they all do their best helping him)

Is a plant lover

Pirate Troopa:

Lost his mother when he was 12 (from a fire incident); joined Bowser's Army afterwards

Is 4 years younger than Spiny

Had a pirate life growing up before the army life

Wears an eyepatch because he lost his eyeball (and it makes him look cool)

Original name was Perry before he legally changed it (only Spiny and Bowser knows his dead name)

Literally the only Koopa who acts and talks like a pirate

Shares similar chaotic energy as Spiny

Acts like he doesn't give a shit about anything (but he actually cares about his friends)

Didn't believe in magic until Kamek showed him it exists

Is a good leader himself, but could never be as good as Spiny (or even Spencer!)

Will visit the ocean/sea at any chances he gets to chat with his mother in private (no one else knows about this... yet?)

Lava and fire doesn't technically bother him, UNLESS an Airship is on fire for whatever reason, and he will go on full panic mode

(I might update this in the future if I think of something new to add on.)

My Koopa Troop Headcannons

Lieutenant Jasper "Eyepatch" Koopa:

His real name is actually Jasper

Can dance the samba very well

Joined Bowser's army after the Koopa General saves him from a Boom Boom who was harassing him inside the tavern

Wears an eyepatch just because

Is almost as deranged as the Koopa General himself

Is in love with a beautiful crimson-shelled Koopa Troopa named Carmine Koopa and would love to meet her someday

Once had a childhood best friend named Penny Koopa

Then he lost her when he was 8-years-old and Penny died in his arms from tuberculosis on Christmas

Afterwards, he immediately lost interest in Christmas until one day when Carmine Koopa managed to help him heal from that pain, restoring his love for Christmas in her process

Koopa General:

Also known as "Blue Shell Koopa"

Is one of the most deranged Koopas of them all

His biological parents abandoned him as a hatchling

A certain female Rex adopted him afterwards (and trained him to be a deadly fighter before eventually having a change of heart)

She then ended up raising him as her own son

Lost his adoptive mother to a house-fire when he was a kid

Kamek and Bowser took him in (and in Kamek's case, raised him along with Bowser) after his adoptive mother's death

Is slowly falling in love with a beautiful lavender-shelled Koopa Paratroopa named Rebecca "Becky" Koopa (and vice-versa) after she nurses him back to health

Becky often calls him "Fly Boy", to which he calls her either "Becky" or "Beckers" in turn

Tends to wear dark blue silk pajamas to bed

Wishes to marry Becky someday

Is one of the only Koopas who loves Christmas

Cadet Verde Koopa:

Extremely shy

Is a very good cook

Enjoys playing with the Koopalings, especially Bowser Jr.

Tends to join Bowser's pity party whenever he sees Bowser (or Kamek or even Bowser Jr.) crying

That one green-shelled Koopa Troopa-turned-Dry Bones is actually his best friend

Sergeant Abriz Koopa:

The only gold-shelled Koopa Troopa in Bowser's army

Came from a wealthy family

However, he hated the rich life, which explains why he ran off to join Bowser's army

Loves Korean food and Mexican food

Literally hates clowns (and is even scared of them too)

Also hates Christmas because when he was younger, he rarely got any Christmas presents that he actually wanted

Commander Violet Koopa:

The only female Koopa Troopa in the army

Is not interested in Christmas

However, she came to Princess Peach's Christmas party one time because of Bowser's plan to crash Princess Peach's Christmas party

Secretly has a crush on the certain Koopa guitarist, but is too shy to even admit it
