The Wonders of Rajasthan: From Sand Dunes to Lakes
Rajasthan, the land of kings, is one of India's most fascinating and enchanting states. This state is rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. Rajasthan is a state that offers everything from dunes to lakes, from forts to palaces, and from traditional villages to modern cities. It is a place where you can experience the diversity of India.
An Alluring Place to Visit
The Thar Desert in Rajasthan is a fascinating place to visit. The dunes here are some of the tallest in the world, and the vast expanse of sand is a sight to behold. The desert is also home to a number of unique wildlife species, such as the Indian gazelle, blackbuck, and desert fox. Camel safaris are a popular way to explore the desert, and you can also enjoy a night camping under the stars.
Fascinating Cities to Explore
One of the most famous cities in Rajasthan is Jaipur, also known as Pink City. The city is famous for its stunning architecture, including the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace, and the Jantar Mantar. The Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds, is a five-story palace with 953 windows. The windows are designed to allow cool air to flow through the palace, keeping it cool even during the hottest months.
Magnificence and Grandeur All Over
The City Palace in Jaipur is a magnificent palace, gardens, and courtyards complex. The palace was built in the 18th century by the Maharaja of Jaipur and is a fine example of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Jantar Mantar, is an astronomical observatory and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was built in the 18th century and contained a number of fascinating instruments for measuring time, predicting eclipses, and tracking the movement of stars and planets.
Spell Bounding Beauty to Witness
Udaipur is another city in Rajasthan famous for its stunning lakes and palaces. The Lake Palace is perhaps the most famous of these palaces. It is a floating palace built in the 18th century as a summer retreat for the Maharaja of Udaipur. The palace is located on an island in the middle of Lake Pichola and is now a luxury hotel. The City Palace in Udaipur is another impressive palace, gardens, and courtyards complex. The palace was built over a period of 400 years and is a fine example of Rajasthani architecture.
A State with Colorful Festivals, Tradition, and Culture
Jaisalmer is a city in Rajasthan famous for its stunning sandstone architecture. The city is also known as the Golden City because of the golden glow of its sandstone buildings. The Jaisalmer Fort is perhaps the most impressive of these buildings. It is a massive fort built in the 12th century and is still inhabited by thousands of people. The fort is also home to a number of palaces, temples, and havelis (traditional Rajasthani mansions).
Rajasthan is also known for its vibrant festivals. The Pushkar Camel Fair is one of the most famous of these festivals. It is held every year in November and is a celebration of the camel, an important part of Rajasthani culture. The festival also includes music, dance, and other cultural activities.
From the sand dunes of the Thar Desert to the therefore, Rajasthan is a state that is rich in wonders. The stunning lakes of Udaipur, from the palaces of Jaipur to the sandstone architecture of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, offer something for everyone. The state is also known for its vibrant festivals and rich cultural heritage. A visit to Rajasthan is a must for anyone who wants to experience the diversity and beauty of India.

An Urban Myth - The “Witch’s Grave” of Old St. Thomas Church, in Ontario, Canada. This grave belongs to Maria Ermatinger, wife of a reverend. Nowhere in history is there mention of her being a witch, but this tall, black gravestone surrounded by four poles has inspired multiple stories. Some say the grave spontaneously lights on fire on Hallow’s Eve every year. Others say that the grave was set on fire out of spite by townspeople who disliked Maria and her money. The grave is surrounded by four poles that used to be connected by chains to prevent people from walking over Maria’s resting place. The chains are gone now, and it is said that you are cursed if you walk between the four poles. Others say there is a black cat that roams the graveyard protecting this grave, and that it has been alive since Maria’s death. In reality, the grave (made of white sandstone) has likely changed colour over time due to the effects of weather. Maria passed away shortly after childbirth due to infection in 1863. . . . . . . #witchsgrave#witch#superstition#paranormalontario#exploreon#exploreontario#stthomasontario#hauntedontario (at Old St. Thomas Church) https://www.instagram.com/p/CYPXikHuAmw/?utm_medium=tumblr

Seeing "This Seat's Taken" Symmetry on an empty TTC LRT makes me think of that early scene in that Tom Hanks movie from the 90s…although then it was kids being mean to another kid cuz he was different not bright yellow signage proclaiming government mandated physical distancing restrictions I took this photo on my @madebygoogle @googlepixel Google Pixel 2 XL in January 2021 one night as I rode the TTC's 509 Harbourfront streetcar LRT Loving the feedback and support I'm getting from people in the comments, in real life, and in the DMs. I want to give a humongous THANK YOU to everyone for the continued encouragement. Feels great to have kept this up for 155 Days!!! If you use the Google Camera for Android app (stock on Pixels) have you noticed how they've added a level for the X, Y, & Z axes into the viewfinder? I dunno if it's turned on by default because it just started appearing one day for me but I do know that personally I'm LOVING it & finding it so very useful for lining up shots!!! As always every 🔖, every 💬, every 🔃, & every ♥️ is appreciated immensely 🙏🏼😀. The mountains are fountains of men as well as of rivers, of glaciers, of fertile soil. The great poets, philosophers, prophets, able men whose thoughts and deeds have moved the world, have come down from the mountains - mountain dwellers who have grown strong there with the forest trees in Nature's workshops. — John Muir Mountains have a way of refining man — of removing the dross and bringing forth the precious elements in a purer, more potent, powerful form. #mountains #mountainculture #adventureafoot #liveadventure #hikersparadise #hikewithme #hikingforthesoul #adventureawaits #exploreon #neverstopexploring #yournextadventure #adventureaddict #travelforthesoul #canada #hikealberta #banffnationalpark #nationalparkscanada #nationalparks #adventuresmith #adventureblogger #travelsmith #worldtravel #canadianrockies #dayhikes #traveladventure #travelfun #hikingblogger (at Stanley Glacier) https://www.instagram.com/p/CClaMFbldlG/?igshid=1xsiaobtwf485
