Summary:

“Once upon a time the man who would one day be known as Lord Voldemort had a daughter. Said daughter ran away from the magical world after becoming pregnant with a non-magical hybrid of man and god, and was never seen again.”

When the Order of the Phoenix learn that Sally Jackson is Voldemort’s daughter, they come to forcibly collect her, her children and husband to keep them “safe” from Voldemort. Percy disagrees with this.

Superstition

“Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.”Acts 17:22

Paul rebuked the Greek philosopher on Mars Hill in Athens for being superstitious for belief and practice of untruths they invented. Greek philosophy and culture had a profound effect on the entire Mediterranean region long after the Greek empire was replaced. The Romans may have replaced the Greeks politically and militarily, but Greek culture still dominated the Romans age. Many Greek ideas, culture and superstitions influenced the Jews.

Egypt was already an ancient civilization by the time of Moses and the exodus, and the institution of the Pharaoh was well established. They thought they were so great that their life could not merely end at death, so they invented stories about going to the region of the idol gods, and becoming divine, and constructing elaborate burial rituals to cope with the finality of their mortality. The Greeks philosophers such as Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle came long after learned and adopted these Egyptian ideas, and they too believed that life does not end in death, and that humans innately possess an immortal soul, and that something continued after death. Since we clearly die, they separated out the part that dies as the body, and the part that they claim doesn’t die as the soul. This is clearly not what scripture teaches, and is exactly what the serpent alleges when it convinced Adam and Eve that sin and disobedience does not cause death, and indirectly accused that God was lying: “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:” - Genesis 3:3-4

The confirmation was when Adam and Eve sinned they eventually died as God said would happen. The serpent represents the various people and ideas that often show up over the ages, who think they know more than God, and try to contradict what He says.

The Greek immortal soul idea then created another downstream problem of what to do with bad people. To solve this, they invented a place called Tartarus or “the underworld”, where bad souls stay tormented forever by Hades (viz Hell) the idol 'god of the dead', and Elysium where the hero and good souls go to enjoy bliss forever. This superstition persists, and scripture is clear that there humans don't innately possess an immortal soul, nor does scripture place a distinction between body and soul. We read in scripture that "the soul that sinneth, it shall die." [Ezekiel 18:20] and souls being thirsty [Psalm 42:2] and that animals have souls [Genesis 1:20-22] because as a soul [Hb. נֶפֶשׁ (nephesh) - a soul, living being, life, self, person] actually refers to a 'living creature' in its entirety, be it people or animals; we don’t have souls, but rather we are souls! Ecclesiastes mentioned that there is no difference between people and animals, as both die the same death and cease to exist[Ecclesiastes 3:19]; the only difference being that we have hope of the resurrection back to life and immortality, while animals do not.

Scripture is emphatic that the determination with regards to who will live forever, or who will die forever, will be made when Jesus - the only man who has ever ascended to heaven [John 3:13], returns from heaven to earth to raise the dead and do the judgment at the last day [John 6:40]. Scripture clarifies resurrection as always being the body coming back to life, as was the case with Lazarus (temporary) and Jesus (permanent), and no other way. Abraham sleeps, ad does king David [Acts 2:29], as also all the faithful who have "all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."[Hebrews 11:13]

- Baalzebub and demons, the source of illnesses.

The Greeks also invented the idea that sickness (devils), and especially mental illnesses (seven devils), was the result of little demons (aka devils, evil spirits {notice the plural}) and demi-gods running around making mischief and causing people to be sick. There is the example where Jesus would preach and drive out demons and evil spirits, such as "certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils" [Luke 8:2] The Jews of the first century later integrated this Greek idea with the the ancient belief that Baalzebub, the idol god of Ekron, was the source of illnesses, an idea that dates back to the time of king Ahazaiah [841 BC], who was the sixth king of Judah, and the son of Jehoram and Athaliah, the daughter of king Ahab of Israel. [II Kings 1:1-16] The Jews of Jesus' time blasphemously accused Jesus' work of healing sickness as "cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils."[Matthew 12:24].

- Phantoms ghosts of disembodied dead people.

There was an incident where after feeding the five thousand, Jesus had sent his disciples to the other side of the lake while he dispersed the crowd, and then he walked across the lake and caught up with the boat. Scripture mentions that “when the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.”[Mark 6:49; Matthew 14:26] there is another word normally used for spirit, like when the disciples later saw him after his resurrection, “but they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit”[Luke 24:37] that is the word ‘spirit’[Gk. πνεῦμα (pneuma) - wind, breath, spirit] used to describe YAHWEH spirit and spiritual beings sent from heaven, however the word used by the disciples when saw Jesus walking on the lake is [Gk Φάντασμά (Phantasma) - an apparition, ghost, spirit, phantom; a spectre] alluding to the them believing the ancient Greek superstition, that there were disembodied ghosts who were caught in limbo between the realm of the living and the underworld of Hades for various reasons: Those who were not buried with the proper rituals (ataphoi), or those who died untimely or prematurely or otherwise unfulfilled who could turn into revenging ghosts (aōroi) or those who died by violence, especially in foreign wars that prevented proper burial (biaiothanatoi).

We know from scripture that we will be judged by what we did while we are alive, and that “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”[Hebrews 9:27], that Jesus the Anointed will “judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom” [II Timothy 4:1] all of which prohibits any possibility of anyone doing anything after death, “for the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.”[Ecclesiastes 9:5]

- Sin before birth.

There is the curious question posed by Jesus' disciples: "Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?"[John 9:2] We can argue about the parents actions or inaction resulting in the birth of a child with blindness, but the disciples were reflecting a superstition that the child himself committed a sin before he was born, for which he was punished by being born with blindness. Of course this is not scriptural, as we can do nothing before we are born. Jesus further clarifies the situation by asserting that "neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. [John 9:3]

- Reincarnation

Jesus had asked his disciples who they thought he actually was, and they gave responses which presumably were the thoughts of the people with whom they interacted, as they responded "some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets."[Matthew 16:14] This gives indication that it was a common superstition that people were somehow reincarnated as other people. Peter gave a good confession of faith, and the appropriate and correct answer when he declared of Jesus: "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."[Matthew 16:16] Since we know "it is appointed unto men once to die" [Hebrews 9:27], people cannot be reincarnated as other people, as this would break scripture, and Jesus emphatically asserted: "the scripture cannot be broken"[John 10:35]

- Jumping over threshold

The Philistines worshipped various idol gods, including Dagon the ‘fish god’ from which they think they obtained bounty, fertility, and good harvests. When the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant, they put it in the temple of Dagon, next to the statue of Dagon. From what happened next, a new superstition developed.

“And when they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were broken off on the threshold; only Dagon’s torso was left of it. Therefore neither the priests of Dagon nor any who come into Dagon’s house tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day” (1 Samuel 5:4-5).

Several hundreds years later during the reign of Josiah, the king of Judah from 640 to 609 BC [Zephaniah 1:1], the prophet Zephaniah prophesied in Jerusalem and seems to have referred to a similar superstition and God’s displeasure with it: “In the same day I will punish all those who leap over the threshold, who fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit” [Zephaniah 1:9]. Leaping the threshold pays homage to the fish idol god, perhaps in an attempt to obtain or retain gain and worldly goods; contradicting and insulting the Father who was graciously providing for them.

- Pagan good luck charms sewn into clothes.

"This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people. Will you ensnare the lives of my people but preserve your own?" [Ezekiel 13:18]

In Ezekiel 13:17-21 God also expressed His opposition to magic charms sewn on sleeves and to veils used to “hunt the souls of My people.” Even though it is difficult to know exactly what these occult rituals were, we know that they were doing something that they were not supposed to do, and that it was somehow related to the pagan practices of the people among whom they dwelt. God condemned as these heathen practices and abomination, and those who “maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.”, and lovingly counsels the contrary of loving obedience to His commands and instructions, that “thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.”[Deuteronomy 18:10-11, 13]

I know I was making light of discourse just now, but I do think the complaints about him introducing yet another new character at the 11th hour to be cannon fodder in the final battle are absolutely valid. and again, it wouldn’t be a problem if he didn’t keep maiming/killing off his female characters one by one instead of developing them and letting them kick ass long-term. but that said, I will never complain about Horikoshi adding another female character to the series, regardless of how clumsy the attempt may be. go ahead and pander away, just give us more girl power lol

Hades (2018) Headcanons

❀ The game takes place in the early years of the Classical Era. The codex describes Exagryph’s aspect of Lucifer in the past tense; As he fell from grace, he nonetheless fought back in all his defiant fury. Unlike explicitly futuristic aspects like Guan Yu, who was in office from years 219-220 AD. This places Hades (2018), at the earliest, 1200 BCE. But Achilles is described as being an older shade, and Alexander the Great is not referenced at all - so the Trojan War is old news while Hellenistic Greece is a whiles away.

❀ The on-going surface war is the The First Peloponnesian War, taking place between 431–421 BC. Characters like Thanatos say that mortals are currently dying in droves because of ‘some war’, and going by our timeline, that’d mean the conflict between Athens and Sparta.

❀ Achilles despises onions not just ‘cause of his personal taste, but also because of his soldier career. Onions were one of the vegetables that made up the bulk of an ancient Greek soldier’s diet whilst on the field, along with cheese and garlic. The Athenian comedy Peace has the soldiers sing “Oh! joy, joy! No more helmet, no more cheese nor onions!” to celebrate the end of war. Achilles would have eaten a lot of onions in his life; tough on a man who probably didn’t like them in the first place.

❀ All Hidden Aspects of weapons will be/has been used by their namesakes ... including Lucifer and his laser ray gun. It’s explicit in every other aspect, after all; Rama has his famous bow, King Arthur his Excalibur. Lucifer used his ray gun during the condemnation of the King of Babylon.

❀ Translated to mortal years, Zagreus would be 25, Thanatos would be 32, Dusa and Megara 28. Zagreus feels stuck living with dad and struggles with responsibility. Thanatos is more in-tune with his life compared to the others. Dusa and Megara also have established careers, but they both feel unaccomplished and caught in work-related hurdles. Achilles died at age 36, Patrocles 45. Hades and Persephone are roughly the same age, but Hades looks a lot older ‘cause of work-related stress.

❀ In Asphodel, all the walkable areas are on the tippy tops of hills and mountains. The lava had flooded the area to that extent. Eurydice had built her home on the peak of a cliff. All the naturally-occurring river creatures of the river phlegethon are now roaming around everywhere. Most of the residents had to be relocated. Those ramshackle rafts Zagreus takes to each room, the Barge Of Death, those are the equivalent of emergency disaster relief, quickly slapped together with nearby materials (which are, in this case, bones and skulls).

❀ Asphodel is flooding, creating an exodus of the population, as a response to a evolving sense of human morality and who’d ‘deserve’ to be sent to Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium, etc. The devs of Hades (2018) probably made this area a lava level to make it visually distinct from Elysium, and they never really explain why phlegethion flooded, only mentioning that it’s never happened before; AKA, this is the first time human morality is shifting in the Hades ‘verse. All regions of the underworld will have their own versions. This is the first time it happens, and it’ll happen again and again as society changes.

❀ Going by the character models, Zagreus is 6′0 (183 cm). Both Achilles and Patrocles are taller than him, and they’re Bronze Age people whose average height was shorter than our own. He’s head-to-head with Theseus, who was known to be tall, but not freakishly so. At 6′0, he’d be taller than mortal men of the Classical Greek era, but not by ‘deity’ standards. If he grew up in our time, he’d be the same height but all his relatives are 6′5 and above.

❀ When the shades are lining up to talk to Hades, they’re essentially representing themselves for parole or pardon. Everyone is given opportunities to argue their release from Tartarus; the successful ones are those who prove their act of murder was in proper, morally-sound self-defense, or that their lifetime of theft was because they literally had no other choice as a poor undocumented refugee or war, etc etc. They can be relocated to Asphodel or even Elysium if Hades thinks it appropriate. One could even think it proof that Hades was the only one fit for ruling the underworld, even if he resents the job, because he has a proper sense of justice, unlike his brothers.

❀ The game doesn’t call them this, but Achilles, Orpheus, and (maybe) Dusa could be considered slaves. Ancient Greek society had a huge slave industry. The population of Classical Athens was 40-80% slaves. A middle-class household had an average of four. Slaves consisted of prisoners of war, various lawbreakers, debtors, and those born into it. This is assuming, of course, that the morality of Hades (2018)’s gods would be okay with slavery, which they likely aren’t.

❀ Zagreus’ feet are burning at an average of 1,700f (940c, 1,150k). That’s how hot glowing metal is. And since its his feet, the heat burns upwards, so when he’s jogging around on bare grass, he’s not starting several bushfires. But if you invite him into your house for a cup of tea, be prepared to have perfectly foot-shaped holes burned into your carpet within several seconds.

❀ Afterlife in Elysium isn’t actually just endless battles. That’s how Patrocles and Zagreus describe it, but I think they’re just being bitter about this supposed ‘heaven’, and the population of Elysium are actually pursuing more fulfilling endeavors, too; Zagreus just never sees it ‘cause his father is canonically hiring especially bloodthirsty shades to stop him, and Patrocles has his jade-colored glasses on. Elysium is supposed to be a place where souls can do whatever they wish. There’s little hints that Elysium has an actual life - outside the Colosseum boss room, there’s multiple stands displaying fruit and snacks, and people in Elysium try to find and admire the seamare fish.

❀ If Zagreus ever wanted to have children, he’d find it near impossible. The Fates’ prophecy of “Hades never having a living heir” extends to grandchildren and so on, as heirs could be of any generation. Whether he tries producing children on his own (like Nyx does), or with a partner, he’d run into the same problems his own parents did. Any that would survive, they’d just be as rebellious towards Hades as him.

The Shadowlands is home to the Shadow Empire. The Shadow Empire is controlled by the Shadow Court and the Shadow Monarchy. Shazam: The Power of Thunder

Through all History, the mankind has told stories and legends starred by formidable heroes and fantastic gods fighting monsters and evil creatures personifying our greatest fears and devils. Today, we find this same plot in superheroes. One of the most common representation of this concept, is the figure of the Solar Hero, a type of heroes that fight against the dark forces with the power of light whether it coming from the shining power of the sun or, in this case, coming from the destructive and transformative power of lightning. According to the comics, the young Billy Batson is chosen by the wizard Shazam as this world’s champion against the personification of the Seven Deadly enemies of mankind. The wizard’s name is the acronym of 6 different mythological characters from three different traditions, so when Billy says Shazam’s name, he’s struck by a lightning bolt changing his appearance into a full-grown man and getting powers from these mythological characters, which are:

The S stands for the Wisdom of Solomon. Salomon, son of David, is a biblical figure told to be a king of Israel blessed by the Lord with a formidable wisdom and knowledge and also the author of the philosophical collections of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, turned into canonical books present in the Holy Bible. Later traditions like the Islam turned him into a proficient magician and exorcist as a result of this vast knowledge.

The H stands for the Strength of Hercules. What can be said of Hercules (Heracles in Greek)? He was the strongest and most famous demigod and hero in Greek mythology, who in one instance was capable of lifting the celestial vault (a feat he performed during one of his Labours while Atlas, the Titan holding it, was doing the labour instead of him).

The A stands for the Stamina of Atlas. According to Greek mythology, Atlas was one of the Titans, ctonic deities (descendants of Gaia, the personification of Earth) that ruled this world before the Olympian gods. In fact, Atlas and his brothers Prometheus and Epimetheus were cousins of Zeus and his siblings. Titans were vanquished by the Olympians on an event known as the Titanomachy (or Titans’ War), their rule ended and war survivors were imprisoned in Tartarus or punished. This was the case of Atlas, who was forced to hold the celestial vault. Some time after, Perseus, son of Zeus, turned him into the actual Atlas Mountains located in Africa using Medusa’s severed head and perpetuating his punishment.

The Z stands for the Power of Zeus. Zeus, son of Chronos, was the king of the Olympian gods. He led the war against the Titans and the Giants wielding his signature weapon, the thunder. The same thunder that transforms Billy and Shazam uses as weapon.

The second A stands for the Valour of Achilles. Achilles was, according to Homer’s “Iliad”, the greatest warrior in the War of Troy. He was renown by his boldness in battle, that gave birth to the legend that he was submerged into the Styx river by his mother giving him invulnerability in all his body with the exception of his heels – the part she was holding while he submerged him - .

The M stands for the Speed of Mercury. The god Mercury was the Roman counterpart of the Greek god Hermes, messenger of the gods, whose main characteristic were his winged helmet (which relate us to the Golden Age superhero Flash, who is depicted wearing a similar helmet on his head) and his winged sandals, that allowed him to run great distances and flying.

Following with the Solar Heros, being transformed by the light is a common treat in numerous superheroes origins. From the gamma bomb that irradiated Bruce Banner turning him into Hulk, the lightning bolt that struck Barry Allen turning him into Flash and and the radiant Vita rays that turned Steven Rogers into Captain America; to the sunlight that gives Superman his powers, the ARK reactor that supply energy to Iron Man’s suits in the MCU and the Green Lantern corps’ ring, capable of create hard-light constructs.

The light turned into a symbol of protection, safety, wisdom and even life itself is a constant in History that can be traced to Prehistoric times, when civilization was reduced to a few human groups trying to survive in a hostile environment where predators and other humans alike tried to hunt them. During the day, seeing them coming is easy, but when night falls…the world turns into a dangerous place where nocturnal predators prowl. In the jungle or the forest, is easy get some high ground as a way to elude some of the bigger ones climbing the trees. In the mountains, a cave reduce the vulnerable spots to only one, the entrance. But not all predators fear the challenge of climbing trees or are easy to see. This is the world that a wandering group of men knows and fears when, one day, at eve, a sudden event changed their lives. A light crossed the sky and stroke a nearby tree giving birth to a new orange light, too hot to take but with the beauty of a flower blowing in the wind. No one dares to touch it, but its warmth dispel cold and also predators. “It can only be a gift from the gods” states the chief when the rest of the group asks him why this happened. An statement that becomes truer when one of his sons take a burning branch allowing them to continue his march with the light and another has the idea of feeding the light with branches, grass and dry leaves allowing to expand his life and the reach of his light and heat.

This is how a lightning bolt turned into a symbol of the some of the coolest gods in world history (and pop culture) like Thor, Raiden, Zeus, Marduk and Indra. Of course, the same goes for fire, that is present either a blessing, like in stories like in Exodus (where Adonai is presented in the form of a burning Bush and, later, a column of fire guiding Moses and his people to the Promised Land) and the legends of Prometheus giving fire to mankind (which can be interpreted as him giving them intelligence, the capability to observe the world around them and find solutions to their questions and troubles) or a curse like in the stories about the Indian god Agni's Wrath (which, like fire, consumes all it touches), the Greek tragedies (where hubris takes the best of the characters making them, as a metaphorical fire, destroy everything and everyone around them until meet their doom).

CHAPTER 05: EXTERMINATION

IT WAS THE EXODUS. Tartarus was not home by any means and most agents showed apathy to the fact they would never see the place again but inside, many felt sentimental over their departure. After all, their lives were shackled to that place for years no matter their experiences. One by one, agents entered the inter-dimensional gate created by interim director Marcus Garner and his team of engineers --- no one knew what the other dimension would be like but akin to everything they had gone through, they knew they would SURVIVE.

Marcus Garner didn’t expect it when they were taken to HANNAH’s home dimension but with knowledge of the breach in Plobsheim, France, they quickly navigated their way to that location. The dimension was not that different from their own, with exception of all-powerful beings and species of plants and animals --- they even possessed similar technology, just slightly advanced. The agents, with their abilities in combat and espionage, managed to steal several stealth-capable quinjets from an airforce base and made their way to France. Some jets were shot down and agents perished, but it created enough diversion for the others to evade and escape.

Upon landing in Plobsheim, they were immediately attacked by the predatory species of black vines that could enter the human body through open wounds. Several agents were injured and infested with the vines --- but medics already knew what to do due to previous experiences with the alien plant species back in their own reality. They eventually managed to find the breach and every agent fought their way through and protected each other until they found the door.

Back in their own reality, interim Marcus Garner finally revealed that the explosion that sealed off Tartarus’ only entry and exit was created by Director Vivian Rothchild as a way to make their enemies believe they were all dead. It also gave them time to root out all turncoats. And now, they could strike without the Order of Damocles’ knowledge. With their safety guaranteed outside of Plobsheim’s treacherous territory, Agent Apollo and Agent Launchpad made contact with MKHellfire’s two other bases, Pine Gap and Atlantis, and requested all their needed equipment to launch an attack against Order of Damocles.

MKHellfire’s best hackers and Gluttony agents were assigned to uncover all the identities of all government officials who were affiliated with Order of Damocles and after they obtained necessary information, Sloth and Justice agents began to plan their attacks to kill every Order personnel, assassinate every head, and destroy every facility. Wrath and Pride agents laid waste on Order of Damocles’ facilities while Greed agents retrieved every device and material that MKHellfire could use in the future. Lust and Envy agents worked together in interrogating the heads of Order before killing them. Meanwhile, Acedia agents with Faith androids as expendable footmen were sent on a mission to stop the Chinese and Russian operations in American soil, killing most of their men to deter them from helping the Order of Damocles further.

By nightfall, the Order of Damocles was eradicated but MKHellfire knew the effects of their conflicts wouldn’t be absolved. The Order still caused an economic collapse which would continue for years to come while MKHellfire had been abandoned by their own country so now, they must act as a vigilante organization. Nonetheless, they survived and now they faced a new beginning.

Tartarus was gone, an empty tomb. But Atlantis now awaited for them --- maybe it could be home, maybe it would be just another prison. However, under Marcus Garner’s command, the facility seemed less strict and relaxed. But could it be just another calm before the storm?

From this point forward, new threads will now take place in ATLANTIS but feel free to finish any that takes place in Tartarus. This plot drop serves as an end to the Order of Damocles arc since most muses who were involved in its earlier stages opted out of the roleplay and I must provide newer members with fresh plots instead of forcing them to catch up on storylines that include characters not in the roleplay anymore.
