EAH Dorm Room Headcanons

First the Basics: Ever After High is a boarding school founded in 1812 by brothers Milton and Giles Grimm, to teach the next generation of fairy tale teens to follow the legacy of stories before them.

The school is located on top of a hill that is in the center of a valley surrounded by the Enchanted Forest, the Dark Forest, and the Village of Bookend.

Ever After High is more of ginormous castle that houses staff, hundreds of students, and animals. With students and staff ranging from sizes as small as a mice and giants the school would need the space. There are countless rooms for the many subjects each student has to learn from destinies ranging from good, bad, and neutral.

Since, Ever After High is a boarding school students need a place to study, hang out, and sleep students live in the dorms of the school.

Like many schools, boys and girls (and non-binary or whatever you decide to be) living quarters are separated from each other. In 'Next Top Villian' the students write a roommate selection form to describe the kind of roommate they want , but that doesn't always work seeing how Headmaster Grimm allowed Apple to room with Raven by asking, Duchess wanted a neat roommate and got Lizzie who was describe as 'messy', Ramona and Justine clashed along with Bunny and Faybelle. Students are allowed to decorate their dorms that reflect their stories and themselves.

In this series of headcanons I'll give my interior design opinion on each of the Ever After teens' rooms. Where I'll go into detail about layouts, items, and etc. Let's begin!

To be honest, getting into Jaemin's school might be a problem. Maybe because of the fact that Jaemin unintentionally brainwashed you, it just felt uncomfortable after standing in front of the school gate. It doesn't look ominous, rather it looks what a grand prestige school should look like, yet it signals every of your six senses to get out of there while you still can. Despite now it is empty along the school ground, you didn't want to expect anyone sending you in, as if you are a VIP. Gathering all your bravery to finaly step in the school ground, you remembered from the email that they sent you before.

You are allowed to reach the school ground late. No matter how late you are, the school will not punish you.

Weird, but you didn't want to say anything when you are new. Anything that is so weird after receiving the email is that you are required to take an entrance paper examination. This is the first you have ever encounter. It now tells you that the school students didn't just get in from a result slip but from your current potential and capability.

From the information given from the email that the school sent, you are required to take 10 tests. Time limit is unknown, yet it seems to you that they didn't care about that in the first place. You kind of assume that they wanted to let you focus more on answer accuracy than making you rush.

Since you didn't receive the duration to report yourself, you actually took your time to look at the school map, trying to gather information on each of the corner. The size of the map is what surprise you. Everything is abnormal about the map. There are only 10 classrooms in a building, but other than that, the surrounding are filled of entertainment rooms in a circle. If you didn't know, you could have assume that you came into the wrong place. You blink several times before snapping a photo of the school layout, heading towards the examination room afterwards.

You hesitantly knock on the large sliding door, pushing it aside as then you are blown by the cooling air from the air-conditioner. You remembered seeing from the map that you are now located at the school hall, but to actually see it by yourself that there is only a table and a chair placed in the middle is just screaming awkward to you. You noticed a teacher sitting at the edge of her desk, glasses barely hanging on her nose, flipping through papers of a clipboard. Her sense of style is an office worker concept, with a messy bun hair. You take a deep breath and decided to knock louder on the door, wanting for the teacher to acknowledge your being. She indeed look up, smiling, she introduced herself with a cheerful tone before asking you to settle down.

Maybe Jaemin is just being paranoid, you thought, before getting towards your seat, bag by the side.

"Yfn, nice to meet you, and welcome to Spiel e Intelligentie Boys' High, acronym for SIBH. Here you will be taking your tests without a time limit, and so you can take your time to finish up all 10 tests. You can take a week, a month, doesn't matter. At the end of the day, 6pm, if you still have tests left or you couldn't finish a test, you are good to come back the next day and continue. After you finish all 10 tests, you are then good to start your classes officially. Opting out now or halfway during test is acceptable too. All tests consist of 100 marks each. After you are done with a test, you can inform me, and I will collect the written test before giving you a new one. You look down to your table, seeing at the edge of it paste a QR code. You grab your phone and sane it, filling up the details before starting the test, only letting the noise be filled with your pen.

It took you 5 days to finish all 10 tests, and fortunate to say that you are surprised by yourself fighting through all 10 tests without resting. In between those 5 days were you writing the tests, going back to home check your answers in your head while also revising more subjects into your mind, to then coming back to the same hall for new tests. You had zero communication with your ex-school friends, neither with Jaemin, but the stress level immediately drop near bottom when you reopen your phone to see hundreds of messages from your friends' groupchat. You quickly message them that you are finally done with the test, and since tomorrow is a weekend, your friends decided to hold a congrats hangout, treating you anywhere you want. Jaemin congrats to you too, and you smile, bag on your back as you walk out of the test hall, fingers busy typing away. The female teacher did not say anything as you passed up the last paper. You smiled and bowed to her, moving off, and at the edge of your sight as you turned around, you saw her looking at you with no emotions.

Totally different from the first time you met her, but that didn't alert your danger signals as you are busy trying to get a fixed destination for tomorrow's hangout.

I don't think it's actually his apartment, though, he just went HARD in terms of personalizing his space. According to Yokoyama, he does also live in (well, "is the type to" live in) Minato--Roppongi specifically--and Mine mentions having gym equipment at home too, but I don't think it's the same place because the spaces are all work or recreation without any of the necessities, and there aren't any more doors. But if anything, it's pretty safe to say his home probably has the same vibe as his office, and I think that still fits for a "workaholic."

I thiiiiink Mine's old company was an IT startup, but he's got his fingers in a lot of pies, for sure. There's a cell phone software company that's a front for the Hakuho Clan, and I would guess he probably still has shares in Every Taxi Company in Kamurocho. Fitness is very much a thing he holds in high importance and is extremely picky about ("not being in the mood" to work out if he doesn't have his specific brand of protein and cancelling a proper gym membership because he "has better equipment at home"), so if he has the money, why not right lmao

I have seen the uncorrupted piano room and you're right that there's literally nothing else there other than the piano lol; in terms of the missing furnishings I was referring to, it's just some decor, mainly. He certainly could use an actual bench, but there isn't one in the "fixed" model either... fair enough though, since only the piano is "needed" for that shot.

About the doors behind the piano, those actually open out to the hallway outside the office. So you can enter either through the main entrance or the piano room. It is consistent with the game since Katase comes into the gym through the piano room, I guess, but it is kind of weird.

It'd definitely be nice to see more detailed entries for places (though I guess I speak from the minor perspective of artists compared to the general RGG fanbase, so it'd be understandable if it's not a paramount priority)! On that note though, maybe one day I'll dump them to the public. They're pretty old and messy: they have just enough info to get me by but might be indecipherable to. Everyone else LMAO BUT maybe I'll drop it after a revision (I also want to make sure everything's accurate if we're looking at the WHOLE room instead of just bits and pieces of it in the background of comics I make)

Apple is reportedly poised to expand App Store ads to Today view and – egregiously – single-app download pages. Rumours suggest Apple’s been testing ads in Maps, and media-oriented apps will soon allow publishers and creators to boost listings placement in return for payment.

“So what?” you might say – this is what others do. Google Maps has ads. Search engines put paid placements above organic results. But Apple is not supposed to be like them – that’s the point. It once invited people to ‘think different’; and although that was always in part veneer, that layer is eroding.

Regardless of questionable design decisions and aggressive advertising, Apple retains advantages: an unparalleled ecosystem; consistently premium hardware; unrivalled mobile apps. But the company’s position is precarious if it becomes more like its rivals – especially if rivals then shift towards the position Apple once occupied. 

Apple should take stock, before paying a premium for its products looks like a bad deal rather than a justified cost.
