WIP WEDNESDAY
This is your daily reminder that there should be more Bonnie & Caroline friendship in fics, thank you for coming to my ted talk.
“God, I’m so excited for Tyler to finally be able to come home.”
“He won’t have to take orders from Klaus when he’s dead, that’s for sure,” Bonnie muttered. She glanced up when Caroline remained quiet, frowning slightly. “Elena mentioned he invited you to the ball? Why would Klaus do that?”
Caroline scowled up at the ceiling, annoyed by the direction the conversation had taken. “I have no idea.”
Bonnie stopped looking through the grimoire. “Well, what did he want last night?”
“I don’t know.” Caroline shrugged, a little lost, throwing a hand up. “He asked me to dance, we talked, he showed me his artwork-”
“Artwork?” Bonnie echoed.
Caroline frowned slightly, worrying her lip.
“Yeah, he’s an artist, I guess,” she tried to shrug off, like it wasn’t a big deal. Even serial killers had hobbies, right? She didn’t mention the drawing he’d done of her - nope, not happening. She scoffed, shaking her head. “I’m pretty sure interpol has half his art collection listed as stolen or missing - like the feds would have a field day if they raided that place.”
“So he asked you to dance, spent time with you, showed you his personal art collection…” Her best friend paused, slowly closing the grimoire, eyeing Caroline critically. “...like a date?”
Caroline shot up into a sitting position, glaring at Bonnie.
“It was NOT a date,” she hissed, slicing her hands through the air, as if to ward the accusation off. “There was no ‘dating’ of any kind.”
Bonnie’s eyes widened a fraction and she deliberately turned her gaze back to the grimoire.
“Sounds like a date to me,” she muttered under her breath, opening the book back up.
Caroline tried to push the memory of Klaus admitting he fancied her out of her head, something fluttering in her stomach.
“He was just cozying up to me to get to Elena,” she tried to excuse. Her eyes shot to Bonnie, pleading with her to agree. “Right?”
Bonnie sighed, regarding her sadly. “Is it really that impossible to consider that a guy may actually like you?”
“Bonnie,” Caroline carefully enunciated, “It’s Klaus.”
Her friend rolled her eyes, closing the grimoire again and throwing it to the side. “Yeah, obviously I’m not saying you should date him, Caroline. I’m just saying you’re,” she shrugged, gesturing to all of her, “you know, a catch. Any guy would be lucky to have you.”
Bonnie leaned forward, grasping Caroline’s hands in hers as she smiled softly. Touched, Caroline couldn’t help but smile back.
“Hell,” Bonnie continued, “Tyler doesn’t even deserve you after he left you for dead in the woods and then ghosted you.”
“He’s trying to break the sire bond for me, Bonnie,” Caroline pointed out, her glare half-hearted. Secretly, her friend’s fierce protectiveness warmed her heart.
“Even so,” Bonnie conceded, letting go of Caroline’s hands, “it was a dick move, one he made on your birthday of all days. You don’t have to excuse him all the time.”
Caroline sighed - Bonnie was right. She let her head fall into her hands, running her fingers anxiously through her hair. Biting her lip, she looked back up at Bonnie.
“And if Klaus does actually…like me?” she asked quietly.
Sheepishly, Bonnie smiled, the expression halfway to a wince. “Start growing wolfsbane in the garden?”
“Would that even work on a hybrid?”
“He’s part werewolf, right?” Bonnie shrugged, picking up her grimoire again. A wicked smile curled around the corners of her face. “You’d assume so.”
Caroline shook her head, grinning too as she pulled out her phone. “Guess I need to google where I can get wolfsbane from, then,” she said, like it was a great chore.
“Check Petco, maybe you’ll find the dog version of catnip.”
Unable to keep straight faces, they giggled, both of them doubling over laughing.

so i have a theory about two movies i watched.
Tumblr media
now im sure we’re all familiar with this iconic trio. Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith are the three most popular girls in school, and very obsessed with their looks. they have intense rules about what they can and cannot wear, they constantly have a full face of make up, and they judge other people looks in their burn book. nearing the end of their movie, Cady Herring has completely obliterated their group. Karen and Gretchen both find their own groups, and I don’t quite remember what happens to Regina. (i have not seen mean girls two so keep in mind the following predictions could be inaccurate.) however, i feel as though Regina could easily bring them back together if she really wanted to. Karen would go along with what Regina said, especially if Gretchen is also involved. i think Gretchen would rejoin with Regina, initially thinking she could rise to power and be Caesar while Regina could be Brutus, instead of how she had previously described herself as being the Brutus to Regina’s Caesar. however Regina is too much of a calculating slytherin bitch to allow that to happen. Gretchen would find herself suffocating in the same situation as before. after they graduate though, they would realize that their high school popularity wasn’t worth much, and decide to stay together and help each other navigate their new lives. They realize now, that they are aging. unacceptable. In an effort to find a way to preserve their youth, Gretchen does some research, looking into diy face masks. she researches different plants and the effect they have on kin and hair. getting more and more invested in using natural beauty hacks, she finds books on different uses for plants, and some of them include other things such as crystals and meditation. she explains to Karen and Regina which crystals can be used with which plants to manipulate your energy, and make you more beautiful. thats right fuckers, Gretchen is getting into witchcraft. Regina has fallen into despair at the thought of becoming old, and is ready to try anything she can get her hands on. Karen trusts Gretchen and Regina, and helps them in their newest endeavor, a glamour ritual. The three meet under a full moon, the night before they were to go pick up their diplomas. Karen brings crystals like amethyst and rose quartz, Regina brings a jar of water and some pink candles, and Gretchen brings her books and rose hips. she arranges the candles and crystals around the jar of water, which she added the rose hips to. Opening her book, she shows Karen and Regina a chant she found on one of the pages. Regina, in her increasingly frantic manner, begins to argue with Gretchen because the spell hadn’t had any immediate results. She quickly becomes angry and recklessly drinks the jar of enchanted water. in her rage and the darkness of the night, she hadn’t noticed that the spell had begun to work, and she had just ruined it by drinking the water. She noticed Gretchen’s hair stand up in one slightly bent spike, and Karen’s hair become curly. not approving of these changes, she said “oh thank god I didn't change at all.” Gretchen and Karen however, didn’t answer, as they were too busy staring at Regina’s hair, that had just turned bright orange. scared to tell Regina what had happened to her hair, they said the spell must have backfired, but that Regina had been safe since she drank the water. Regina was shocked when she looked in the mirror after waking up the next day. Not only had her hair changed, but also her face and body were completely different. she ran to get Gretchen and Karen, just to find they looked completely different too. Gretchen explained that Regina had hexed them by drinking the lunar water, and the changes were irreversible. fearing that anybody would recognize them when they went to pick up their diplomas later, they formed a plan. They would each adopt a fake name and pose as their own aunt or family friend. Karen wanted another simple name, so she chose Sarah. Gretchen thought this was a good idea, so she chose Mary. Regina, always trying to stand our among the three, chose Winifred. Everything went according to plan that day. Gretchen chose that afternoon to inform her friends that she would be attending Harvard that fall, and therefore moving to Massachusetts. Regina and Karen, who didn't have plans, knew that if they wanted even the slightest chance of becoming themselves again, they needed Gretchen. Together, the three of them were able to buy a small, rundown house in Salem, close enough for Gretchen to be able to commute to Harvard.  they fixed up the house, but Gretchen took over most of it with her witch supplies. they quite liked the older style of their new home, and figured they should find a new style, instead of pink everything. They soon learned that their new aesthetic wasn’t all that original, because most of Salem was familiar with it, it was the witchy vibe that the entire town gave off. As they settled into their new lives, they decided to keep their new names, so as not to taint their old identities. They also said they were sisters. They did everything in their power to protect those old identities, and made sure nobody ever found out who they were. In her spare time, Gretchen, who was now Mary, researched spells to restore their old appearances. One of these required the blood of a young girl. Regina/Winifred found out about this spell that Mary had tried to hide from her, as it was too immoral, and forced Mary and Karen/Sarah to perform it with her. It wouldn’t have been too difficult, as Mary had grown quite talented with magic, if the girls brother hadn’t come to help her. The brother had entered their house in an attempt to save his younger sister, and seen far too much. He could find out who they were. Mary and Sarah refused to let Winifred kill this boy, so they instead turned him into a cat. In this act of harming someone so greatly, Regina, Gretchen, and Karen had unknowingly become permanently stuck in these bodies, and would forever remain Winifred, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson; the Sanderson sisters.

I’m well aware that none of this matches up with either of the real stories, but thank you for reading my late night, self hatred induced, caffeine fueled extravaganza.

This week was a wild Samhaintide ride. I’ll post more about it in the read more
Here's yet another selection of stories from my witchy life I am ready to dump on you all so get ready lol:
Wednesday night was the party at the occult shop Treadwells where we met a new witch friend who joined us for the Samhain festivities. I have already made a post about it here but her name is Letitia and she is a beautiful sapphic Taurean witch who loves gardening and cooking (duh she's a Taurus) and all the goddesses she worships and bought an incredible pumpkin pie to the ritual.
Halloween
So the day begun with me making candles for the ritual. I bought a skull candle, a candle the shape of a jackolantern and then I made several candles which were three mini pumpkins hollowed and filled with black wax that’s pumpkin and bourbon scented, then four tea light spell candles with black wax and four tea light spell candles with a special wax my sag witchy friend bought for me from Edinburgh from a witchy shop. The wax melt was made with herbs and was called 'thinning the veil'. I’ll elaborate later. I also had to walk to the post office to pick up the ouija board. I had a feeling I'd finally get my hands on it on Halloween. Its a very aesthetic round one and I was excited to use it.
We chose to gather in Queenswood in the north of London. It was already SUPER SPOOKY cause there was a murder nearby so all of the buses were being redirected lol. We gathered all in black with our witch hats and delved deep in the woods. It was so beautiful and the ground was completely coated in gold and red leaves so you couldn't even see the path. We found a clearing in the thick of the woods with an old tree that grew sideways so it made a semi circle. We made a HUGE circle that we drew in the earth with a dead stick and went over with dragonsblood incense and black salt.
We opened the space by lighting the pumpkin candles and begun with centering our energy. There were several parts to the ritual we planned, but first we begun with a 'putting it to rest' spell since autumn is the time to let things go and samhain is about death so it was like officially bringing things to an end. We wrote down what we wanted to end in our lives on a piece of paper (such as not seeing coworkers from a toxic job that someone was leaving or the retrograde made my friend run into her abusive father that she had binded from seeing her for YEARS so she wanted to put that situation to rest) and ignited it in my cauldron. When it burned down to ashes we chose a spot (under a goblin-like tree) outside of the circle to open the earth and bury it in. After we put it in it's grave we all said a few words of departure and said: rest in peace. lol.
In my case I wrote down names of these models that are obsessed with this Italian guy (who is the son of a huge fashion designer) who is in love with my sister. They are obsessed with him for his connections to the fashion world and that he is rich and are jealous of any 'hoes' he's currently into so they posted instagram stories on Halloween with them in witch hats taunting that they were going to curse him and all of his lovers or whatever in cutesy filters and my sister knows I practice witchcraft so she told me. So I binded and banished them and the next day they unfollowed her lol.
Anyway, afterwards we focused on what we should reflect on by pulling tarot cards for mercury retrograde in scorpio that was beginning on that day as it's going to be like two weeks of descending into our own underworlds. After we got a card we lit the black tealight candle as a road opening spell to manifest a helpful path with overcoming our retrograde's lessons.
Then I lit the skull candle and we had a moment to reflect on our ancestors and those that we loved that have been lost that year. We each shared stories then lit the white tea light candles with the wax that was for thinning the veil. When we lit it we thought about our loved ones or ancestors.
Finally we did a dance for thinning the veil. I had flying devil oil that was some fragrance oil I got from a hoodoo shop and we dressed ourselves with it and ran around the circle and chanted in the leaves. We then ate the pumpkin pie the lovely Taurean witch bought also some maple sugar fudge she bought (what a champ), and halloween candy. We used the Ouija board but it was really challenging. We thought maybe it was cause we needed to be less grounded so we put it away and cleaned up the ritual space and headed off.
The Taurean witch was going to head home to cook a feast, my French aries witch friend went to her friends she's staying at to have a party and my Sag witch friend went home to cook a dumb supper for her and her mom. I went back to my place to nap then get ready for the night. I met my Sag friend at a music venue to watch Honeyblood which is SUCH a witchy band. The performance really reminded me of some scooby doo hex girls shit. It was a lot of fun (until some grown ass men with no sense of self awareness took the mosh pit to mean something more of a Jailbreak riot and started throwing their whole 6ft man bodies everywhere despite not everyone being gladiator sized. It was really ridiculous but golden when Honeyblood sang "Glimmer" with lyrics like "she can put a hex on you" thats when this one guy in some sailor outfit shoved his body into us and we BOTH looked at him with such evil at the same time and he like.. stopped.. and like hastily moved to another part of the room..)  If you don't know Honeyblood you should listen to them, they are such a babe witch band.
We then went to a bar nearby to get flaming shots of absinthe as its a personal tradition (also a way to 'cross the veil') and someone took candids of us at the bar! (I added the picture above), for some reason we really caught the attention of everyone though we just were in witch hats like EVERYONE was like: OOO WITCHES and like we even had some lady take pictures of us at the bar? Like ok it was cute I guess. My friend was drunk then so every time someone was like: oo a Witch! She'd holler back YASS BITCH 365 24/7!!!! Like o' dear.
Final part to the night was the house party my Aries witch friend (she's the one who's apartment I almost burned down once when I was making spell candles). It was a place around the corner from mine with a host who was HIGH OFF HER FACE on drugs. There was the counter of alcohol that kept us going all night, we had a lot of mingling with everyone there then when it started to get a little less wild we claimed an empty bedroom and tried the ouija board again since we were definitely less grounded than in the forest. Unfortunately the results were still a bit weak but we got a little bit of consistency with movement. There was some guy there that seemed interested but as time went on it turned out he was more interested in me than the board. I am a touched starved human being and he was playing with my hair and I was drunk so I did not care then after we ended up kissing while my other witchy friends and some new comers were chatting about the dead. My Aries witch friend lives on the other side of the city so she asked if they could stay at mine and I was like yea plus it was like 4AM at this point and this guy was getting very handsy like I just wanted my hair to be played with so I was like ok nice meeting you I gotta go. And He was like oh no please come say one last goodbye. I was too drunk to realize that he was in the bathroom and he closed to door to make out with me and I was like this is nice you do have nice flowy long hair that covers your big shiny forehead that I am now noticing in this bright fluorescent lighting but I gotta go. And he's like: No I wanna take you home I wanted to the moment I saw you. And he WHIPS OUT HIS DICK AND SAYS: this is for you. I am DYING like honestly I found it hilarious, I was so drunk I like forgot that there were other people on the other side of the door so I barge out of the bathroom like: WE ARE GOING HOME and my witchy friends saw his dick and were howling with laughter and that 10 minute walk home they would NOT LET ME BE IN PEACE about it.
Samhain Day
Anyway my friends stay over and in the morning I make tea and a light breakfast since we are hung over and we watch The Worst Witch 1980s Halloween special where we fucking Howl at laughter at everything especially Tim Curry flying around in that Cape. The rest of the day is really quiet since most of it is me sleeping trying to recover from the day before.
At 4 PM I call my relatives to say I love them and stuff cause I felt like my closest relatives on the other side of the veil wanted that. I made a feast for myself which consisted of Mashed sweet potato, a salad of chopped royal gala apples, carrots and beetroots and duck sauteed in maple syrup and bourbon. It may sound sweet but the bourbon balanced it out and duck tastes a bit sweet so it blended well with the maple flavor. After I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I made a plate for my ancestors and then got ready for fireworks with my other witchy friend who is the sound healer at Alexandra Palace.
I nearly missed the MASSIVE fire effigy burning cause the commute there was a NIGHTMARE since everything was still being redirected. (Thanks mercury retrograde). The fireworks were incredible though. There were so many it was like being bombarded with fiery psychedelics. My friend still wanted to show off her sexy angel outfit for Halloween so I asked if she wanted to hang out with us tomorrow night to party.
Saturday Night
She came over like at 4 and we got ready. She looked a bit like the angel from the remake of Romeo and Juliette with Leonardo decaprio but in lingerie with a long white lace robe. I dressed as a poltergeist though I don't think it came off that way but I had a sheer black dress on with a skeleton body suit, a glow in the dark wig and pale tulle. I just wanted to be a spooky ghost. We had to sneak into a members club that I work at cause I am NOT allowed to be there and I was terrified of them finding out so it felt like Danger Partying. They had a day of the dead party so I blended in but I felt like some staff that recognized me were like staring at me all night. We still had fun and spoke about our Samhain experiences. My friend is also a medium so she gave me some ouija tips so hopefully that can help me in the future.
Sunday Morning
I went to a workshop in the food forest about fire starting!! It was beautiful and magical and the forest was in full autumn mode. I learned how to chop wood with different axes and carve wood and start fires with either two pieces of wood (which is extremely hard on your own like you better be in the dryest place possible and you better have a bow), and how to start fire with flint/magnesium which is 1000% easier would highly recommend. There's so much magic in nature and so much magic in those workshops. We learned which trees were best for firewood and which were toxic and how to use bark or forage for fire starter materials. I am getting more drawn to fire as an element to work with in magic so I loved learning the techniques and also that you can start fires with the back of a knife (the teacher had a specific wood carving knife that was thick) so its like if you get a specific Athame which is ruled by fire you could also use it to start fires too if you got a fire steel key. (It's a rod of magnesium and you'd strike it with the back of the knife hard and fast and sparks will shoot out like fireworks).
Anyway that was my week so far!! It was so much fun and adventurous I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have today off so I had a moment to reflect and get myself together for work tomorrow but afterwork I am celebrating Bonfire night with my sag witch friend at Victoria park so I am excited to take part in that!
I hope you all had a great Samhain!

Hex (4/?)
Tumblr media
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
The next few days went as before, Solstice sitting in her dark, hot room, only coming out when she was sure no one was home to get what food was around the house. Luckily for her Sweet Pea hardly spent any time in the house other than to sleep and FP was never there, probably trying to stay away from his problematic daughter.
Solstices head was spinning, she didn't know if was dehydration or the fact she had not one but two siblings that she had never met. Solstice had always wanted siblings and at the academy, she somewhat found that. The first day she started at the academy Solstice was appointed to the orphanage sector even after constantly repeating that she "wasn't, in fact, an orphan" and her parents "would be coming for her any day now". Her parents never came and after a while, she stopped crying herself to sleep. Solstice soon realised that if her family wasn't going to come and save her then she was going to create a family with the only three girls that were in the same situation as her. Of course, Solstice knew other children at the academy that were there to get an education but only four; herself, Prudence, Agatha and Dorcas, lived there all year round.
This caused them to become inseparable and soon enough their little group caught the name 'The Weird Sisters", a name Solstice despised with a passion. These girls looked out for Solstice and eventually they became a force to be reckoned with. Together they caused mischief and often got in trouble for causing general havoc and widespread destruction. But when together no punishment truly felt like discipline and instead, they were some of Solstices fondest memories. Such as when they were caught mixing herbs and such into different glasses and jars, they were forced to clean the entirety of the girl's dorms, and with one quick glamour spell, they were done.
These actions lead to the weird sisters to become some of the most powerful witches at the academy, often being submitted into the advanced classes years ahead of them. But what else can you expect if they live at the school while the rest of their classmates went home off term spending time with their families, being loved and cherished. After a couple of long years like this Solstice finally came to terms with this life and stopped fighting her old ideals. She soon forgot about her life in Riverdale and the torture her parents allowed to endure in the Sisters of Quite Mercy.
When she ran away from the academy there was nothing left for her there. Her sisters were gone, her real family was gone and solstice was truly heartbroken. She didn't have real time to grieve because she was terrified that whatever hurt her loved ones like that may still be looking for her. It was a complete coincidence that she stumbled into Riverdale after all of these years. Her bus broke down shortly after taking off, her intended destination being anywhere as far away from Greendale as she could possibly get. Solstice surprised herself when her feet began to walk the long trek from the main road all the way through the northside right down to the southside and to her childhood home. She tried her hardest to not get her hopes up. Of course, her old family wouldn't still be they because if they were, they just didn't want her instead of not being able to find her. She was wrong.
Solstice was physically shaken out of her deep dark thoughts when an enormous round of rattling knocks came from the weak wood of the bedroom door. Solstice didn't get out of her bed but instead just sat up against the black metal headboard. After a few more seconds of silence and door creaked open to reveal an already dressed and ready-to-go Sweet Pea who instantly rolled his eyes when he saw her lack of effort to pretend to be ready.
"We had to leave like 10 minutes ago" he muttered looking, less than impressed look grazing over his flawless features. "Just hurry up so we can leave"
For a moment Solstice was baffled with what he could be going on about when she remembered that it was her first day of southside high today. Absolutely fucking perfect. She really could not be bothered but when she turned her head to complain to the tall boy, he was already gone with the door shut behind him. Solstice sighed dramatically loud and peeled herself from her duvet and stretched upwards when she leapt from the bed. Solstice walked over to the vanity that was door the inspect the damage she had done to herself after being a hermit for almost a week.
To put it plainly it was horrific, her normally blonde, wavy shoulder-length hair was almost a dark brunette due to the amount of sweat and grease that had layered it. Even worse than that was the dark circles that clung to her eyes for dear life. She still had a small amount of makeup that was left over from the night she arrived. Solstice turned to the alarm clock that was behind her on the bedside table and groaned when she saw that she only had 15 minutes until she assumed that school started. A simple glamour probably wouldn't be able to hide the truly impressive state she was in at the moment, however, there was only thing that would help. She turned to find her bag that was laying at the foot of the bed a pulled her grimoire which was bound in black cloth instead of the traditional leather. Skimming through the various pages she came to the one she was looking for. Appearance revival. She looked briefly over the instructions and grabbed and lit the large pillar candle the was also in her duffle bag. After reciting the added incantation, she turned back to the mirror and smiled at the result.
Her skin was her usual perfect porcelain complexion with a few blonde freckles scattered over the whole of her face. Her blue eyes gleamed as if they had never shed a single tear and her hair was back its old healthy ways, blonde waves wreaking havoc around her head. Now all she had to do was get dressed into her black dress, put her doc martin boots and she was done. After doing this Solstice blew out the candle and placed it in the wardrobe along with her book and picked up her shoulder bag and rushed down the stairs with 9 minutes to spare. As Solstice descended, she saw sweet pea standing next to the front door, looking impatiently down at his wrist.
He huffed still looking down, "Solstice, if you don't hurry up, I swear I'm gonna- "
"You're gonna do what Sweet Pea? I'm truly terrified" Solstice quipped tilting her head to the side and raising her eyebrows.
Sweet Pea sharply looked up and was slightly startled that she was stood in front of him. He was even more confused by the fact that she was completely ready to go even after he had just seen her sitting in bed looking like actual death. There was no way that this could have been possible and sweet peas open jaw only made Solstices smirk wider.
"Cat got your tongue? And here I was thinking we were going to be late..." She stated as she settled the straps of her bag back onto her shoulder when they became a little loose.
Sweets pea closed his mouth and angrily opened the front door and walked out, "try not to melt" he cast the comment over his shoulder obviously irritated with her.
Solstice closed the door behind her, "No promises".
She followed a few steps behind sweet pea as his long legs lead them down the streets of the southside until they reached a rusty baby blue pick up truck and he swung his bag into the bed of it and turned to open the door. He jumped into the driver side and started it after it refused to the first couple of times. Solstice waited patiently for him to unlock the passenger side door. Solstice was starting to grow impatient and looked and the boy sat behind the wheel, Sweet Pea was smiling wickedly and indicated to her with his hand motions that he had indeed unlocked it. Sol knew he hadn't, call it witchy intuition if you will. But choosing to humour him she placed her hand onto the handle and pulled, the door still not budging. She could see that the door was still locked from the inside because the little pull/push lever was still pushed down. Solstice could so easily open the door if she willed it but that would risk Sweet Pea finding out what she was. She could hardly care less about Sweet Pea himself but she couldn't be held responsible for another witch trails, that guilt would cause some serious wrinkles. So instead she gave the boy a devilish glare and turned her back to him and looked down the street to see a gaggle of youths making they way in her direction. When she looked back to look at Sweet Pea, he was already looking at the same group through the small window behind his head. He let out an annoyed sigh as he leaned over the passenger seat and popped the door open for Solstice and almost dragged her in and slammed the door shut the door behind her.
As the group passed without incident Sweet pea let out a breath of relief, as if he was expecting them to notice him.
"Not friends of yours I'm taking it, "Solstice said still looking at the small silhouettes of the teens in the distance.
Sweet pea didn't say anything as he finally started the truck and began to drive the short distance to the school. There wasn't much in the way of scenery as it mainly consisted of a rundown concrete wasteland with an occasional tree or shrub, but even then, they were either destroyed or had some sort of deformity. Greendale was nothing like this. It was full of lush mint fields and upper-class houses with an immense forest that backed up on to the academy's property. Solstice loved those woods more than anything, especially straight after it had rained. They was nothing quite like it in this world.
Shorty after Sweet Pea pulled up into a free parking space and the truck and came to a stop. The space he had chosen was smack bang in the middle of at least 30 motorbikes. Weird choice, solstice thought. When they jumped out of the car she turned to see that space was marked by dark green spray paint in the shape of the box. That's odd. Why would there be a makeshift parking space right in the middle of the motorbike area? Solstice twisted her head to the right and saw a group of teenagers all wearing leather jackets with that same serpent as what her dad and Sweet Pea had on their back. It was also the same as the tattoo and Sweet Pea had on his neck.
Solstice turned back around to see Sweet Pea stretching over the bed of his truck and grab his worn-down black backpack and threw it into the front of the truck, under the bench seat and out of view.
Solstice furrowed her eyebrows in confusion." Won't you need that?" she asked fiddling with the lace fringing of her dress, not really out of nervousness but more out of habit and that moment in time.
Sweet Pea looked over at her and shook his head, "you're not gonna need a bag, trust me." He said and walked the rest of the way to her. "and you're not really dressed either" What the actual fuck?
"What are you ta- "She started when he began to shrug off his many layers until he handed her his red, blue and black checker flannel.
"What do you what me to do with this?" she asked sort of handing back it back to him. Still very baffled.
"You're dressed to..." he seemed to think for a moment trying to think of the best word as he started putting back his denim vest and leather jacket back on. "Fancy." He cringed slightly. "Only northsiders dress like you and if they-" he pointed to the school, "-think you're from the northside you're better than dead, so would you please just put it on" he exhaled.
Solstice rolled her eyes and forcibly shoved her bag into Sweet Pea's arms so that it wouldn't have to touch the muddy gravel below her and stretched the loose material over her body. Looking into the window of the truck Solstice saw that her lace collar or fringing didn't go with her whole ensemble. She grabbed and torn the lace which came off quite easily as it was only held down with buttons. Without the lace, Solstice looked a lot more casual. She sighed turning her nose up at it. Now she just looked ridiculous, she thought.
She turned back to Sweet Pea who took his time looking at her, he handed her her bag. "I suppose that will do," he said and began to walk towards the school entrance where there were a few students still filtering in. Again, walking behind Sweet Pea they entered the school and the air was nearly knocked out of her. It took her a moment to realise that someone was touching her, someone had thrown their long, heavy arm straight over her shoulders, she snapped her head, hoping, praying that it would be SP because at least he was a familiar face. It wasn't, instead, it was another boy, maybe an inch taller than Solstice. He was grinning down at her with an evil smirk. With was also wearing a leather jacket but this one was studded with various pieces of metal.
Panic started to bubble up in her throat and could hear the fizzing in her ears her eyes darted around until she saw that Sweet Pea was being held up against a wall by at least 4 guys who were all barely just able to keep him put. He was thrashing about uncontrollably, rage filling his entire being.
"You're new here, aren't you?" the boy who had his arm over her shoulder, a smile filling his features. Solstice was stunned. He was talking to her like they're not beating to the person she came in with to a bloody pulp.
She ignored him, swiftly pushing him off of her and began to approach SP until he made eye contact with her and shook his head. She didn't know what she was supposed to do, she had never dealt with something like this. Gang warfare was something the Academy didn't usually deal with.
Suddenly she felt a harsh grip on the upper portion of her arm and was spun around to face the same boy as before. "I believe I asked you a question, Babe," he said and grabbed her chin and forced her to look up at him. Solstice didn't realize how angry she was becoming. Who in holy hell did he think he was?
"Yes, I suppose you did, didn't you" she snarled and tried to rip her face out of his grasp but his grip only became stronger. She knew what she had to do. She was taught what to do in her self-defence classes.
Solstice closed her eyes and tried to find any part of her that was calm, it would only work if she concentrated. She found it in the deep regions of her stomach, somewhere where there weren't any anxious butterflies, and in the space, she found her strength. She looked up him with pitch black eyes, almost like her iris's had swallowed the rest of her eyes. She let the witch within her take over and she began muttering words that she had never even heard before.
"Nos relinquere solus" she whispered into his ear and almost instantly he let go of her and started barking orders to the others who were still holding Sweep Pea up while others took turns punching. They stopped almost as quickly as he did and he swiftly started to speed walk down the now quiet halls of the school. Turning his head over his shoulder with a look of terror in his wide eyes.
Solstice waited for a few seconds before turning and walking over to Sweet Pea who was slightly hunched over, leaning against the wall. He was breathing slowly, his arms wrapped around his torso. He looked like he was trying to hype himself up to be fine. Painfully slowly he straightens his back until he was stood upright. He was obvious that he was hurt but he tried his best to hide it. Solstice walked the short distance to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Shit, are you alright?" She asked as he winced in pain, shrugging off her hand and began walking down the long hallway.
"Yes, I'm great" he muttered as he grabbed her hand and lead her towards the desk with an old receptionist, a tired look on her face. When she looked up to see Sweet Pea stood there with a black and bloody face, she rolled her eyes, not one ounce of concern crossed over her.
"Another detention Sweet Pea? It's only ten past nine on a Monday morning, that has to be a new record." She noted as she collected the documents, she thought she would need sweet pea to sign for the day he was able to do the detention.
"um no Gladis, not today," he said flashing a smile to the older woman, "Actually it's her first day, Solstice Jones..." he said and slightly pushed Solstice to the desk. Solstice lightly coughed and tried to smile sincerely, which she found incredibly difficult because she didn't want to be there and she was just harassed in the hallway when Sweet Pea was literally being used as a human punching bag.
Gladis rolled her eyes and turned to a computer that was just out of view from the teens and started to slowly types on the thick keyboard which no longer had some of the lettered stickers and had yellowed with age. Solstice was certain that that keyboard was defiantly older that she was and maybe even older than FP. Solstice guessed that Gladis may be a bit of a negative mood as all of the other students had already made it to their classroom and if they weren't late, she would be having her free time around about now.
Gladis looked up and raked her eyes over Solstices form for a little longer than what was considered normal, "Jones, you said?" she questioned, craning her neck towards sweet pea and completely ignoring the look Solstice gave her. Sweet Pea nodded.
Gladis looked back to the computer a cruel smile filling her features, "I thought the serpent king only had two children, an older boy and a young girl, Jughead and Jelly Bean was it?"
Even their fucking names matched.
Bitch. Solstice smiled brightly, trying not to let it get to her. "Yup the very same. I'm the oldest, nice to meet you" she heard from the side of her sweet pea snorting and her fake demeanour.
Gladis ignored her and walked over to the printer. Solstice turned to face Sweet Pea and rolled her eyes at his smirk. Gladis walked back and placed a couple of sheets of black and white paper which had her class schedule on it. Before solstice could even have a look, Sweet Pea whipped it out of her hands and began inspecting it. He had a neutral look on his face until he frowned. He turned back to the receptionist.
"thanks" he muttered and grabbed Solstices hand again and started to pull her down the dark hall. To be honest she was starting to get incredibly frustrated with being lead places with no explanation. Solstice slid her hand out of SP's and slowed down to a halt.
"Do you mind telling me where we are going"
Sweet pea stopped a few feet ahead of her, his patience growing thin. "Where would we be going?" he spat with more venom than he had intended but he really wasn't in the mood to be dealing this. At that moment in time, he hurt all over. He desperately wanted to sit down and with every question, this girl was asking she was preventing him from doing so. "We are in a school, I'm taking you to your classroom so I don't have to babysit you anymore"
Babysit? What did this asshole mean by that?
"Fuck you," she said with the same amount of harshness. "if I'm really that much of a bother I suggest you make yourself scarce then" And with that solstice barged past him connecting with his shoulder. Sweet Pea didn't follow her but she didn't want him to. To be honest he was starting to get on her nerves anyway. She continued to walk around the school until she found that one of the classrooms of her left was completely empty, she threw herself into it and slammed the door behind her.
She didn't care if another person saw her as a burden, she should be used to it by now, right? Hot tears threatened to escape her if she didn't pull her shit together. She had no right to be upset because she barely knew Sweet Pea. Still, that fucking hurts.
Solstice sat at one of the desks and pulled her phone from out of her bag. She scrolled through her contacts until she found what she was looking for. The group chat that belonged to her and her sisters. Still nothing, but that's what she was expecting. She knew it would sting when she saw that there were no new messages asking her when she thought she would arrive home, or how her trip was going. She just wished everything could go back to the old ways, she just wanted to go home.
"fuck" she cried out loudly even though she tried to muffle it with her hand. Waves of emotion washed over her.
"Princessa, are you okay?" she suddenly heard a voice say from the corner of the room, she snapped her head in that direction as see a bulky, very good-looking tanned boy stood next to a girl with impeccable fashion sense and bright pink highlight in her caramel hair.
"of course, she's not, idiot," the girl said as she walked over to Solstice and sat down next to her. "you're Solstice, right?" she asked and tilted her head to the side.
Solstice wiped her tears from her cheeks after her moment of weakness and nodded, "um yeah, sure" she said. "how did you know that?"
"Sweet Pea sent us to do damage control," the boy said who was now leaning against the desk in front of the girls,
"Fangs shut the fuck up, he did not!" the girl snapped at him, causing Solstice to smile lightly, they reminded her of her sisters.
Fangs tilted his head to the side," Nah, Toni, I'm pretty sure he did because when we heard the shouting and then sweets walked into the room looking very angry you said and I quote "Waddup asshole" and he just glared and you, but it wasn't his usual 'shut up Toni' glare it was more of 'I'm not in the fucking mood' glare and then you asked if it was something to do with the new serpent girl he was supposed to be watching, and he kinda looked like he wanted to throttle you and then he told you to Solstice walked in this direction and here we are so-"
"Fangs, babe?" Toni smiled up at him, "shut up!" she stated and a rose tint filled his cheeks. Solstice laughed at their interaction and placed her phone face down onto the desk. "he means well I swear" Toni said side eyeing fangs, "Sweet Pea, on the other hand, is a bit... prickly" she pulled a face at her chose of words but to be honest that was the perfect way to describe him.
"Yeh, no it's fine I was upset about something else." Solstice said her hands fiddling with the sleeves of the flannel. Toni and fangs noticed this and looked at each other.
"So, I hope u don't find me rude but I didn't know that FP had another kid, and you're the oldest right," Toni asked pushing her long hair over her shoulder.
"I mean I guess so, I haven't met the others, Jughead and jellybean, right?" Solstice asked already kinda knowing the answer.
"You haven't met your brother and sister, dude that's messed up "fangs butted in earning a glare from Toni
"Yeh I've not lived with dad since I was six "Solstice said.
"No shit, so how old are you then?" Toni asked
"Just turned 17"
Just as she spoke a bell rang through the room causing Fangs and Toni to jump to their feet and began to walk to the door. When the noticed that Solstice didn't move, they turned to look at her.
"Aren't you coming?" Fangs asked looking a little offended.
Solstice thought she was on an alien planet where to didn't know the language anyone was speaking or knew any of their customs.
"um where? "she asked grabbing her bag and phone. Toni linked arms with her and they walked out of the classroom.
"Lunch," she said smiling.

“Don’t Objectify Me” (Dean x Reader)
The first of two for tonight and then I’ve got to study for my finals tomorrow.
Happy Reading!
Words: 1971
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Warnings: Excessive cuteness
Excerpt:  He huffed again but stayed silent.  The three of you, with the help of Cas back at the bunker, were investigating a string of homicides in Oklahoma.  Three people had been killed inside of a week, but that hadn’t even been the strangest part.  The bodies hadn’t just been mutilated, they’d been practically decimated.  Their chests had been ripped open and their lungs had been removed.  It was positively gruesome.

You paced back and forth waiting for Dean to come out of the house of one of the victims.  Of course, you couldn’t go in with him—you were the watchdog. You were always the watchdog.  Dean was always the one putting himself in the line of fire, and you were always just...watching.
“Easy kid,” Dean said, coming up behind you.  “You’re gonna wear a hole in the concrete.”
You gasped and hit him in the shoulder, hard. “Oh my god, you idiot! You scared the crap out of me. I almost pulled my gun on you.”
Dean gave you a sly smirk and walked around the side of the Impala, leaning over the top for a second to talk to you.  “Well, don’t do that.  Don’t wanna have to tell my brother that my girlfriend made me Swiss cheese because I scared her.”
“Then don’t scare me,” you shot back, sliding into the front seat of the Impala and waiting for Dean to follow suit.  After he did, he put the keys in the ignition and the car rumbled to life.  “So, did you find anything? Hex bags? Sulfur?”
“Nada,” he grumbled.  “But I still say it’s a demon.  There’s just nothing about the killings that screams witchy business to me.”
“‘Witchy business’?” you questioned with a raised eyebrow.  He started off down the road.  “I don’t know, Dean. I gotta stick with Sam on this one.  Witches seem to be the most likely culprit.”
Dean huffed.  “I thought you were supposed to side with me.”
“Only when you’re right,” you countered.  “And anyways, if you’re right, you get bragging rights against not one, but two people. But you’re not right.”
He huffed again but stayed silent.
You and Sam were thinking a witch because, contrary to what Dean had said, it screamed ‘witchy business’ to the two of you.  But Dean was having none of it. He was sure it was the work of some demon just looking for humans to kill. The only problem with his theory was that removing a specific organ from those bodies seemed like more of a ritual than an MO.
The two of you met Sam back at the motel room to find out what he’d learned from the bodies in the coroner’s morgue.
When you got back, Sam was sitting on the edge of one of the beds with his tie and suit jacket stripped off. He looked up at the two of you as you entered the room and shut the door.  He looked almost green, which was odd since Sam was usually the most composed and least queasy around dead bodies, especially the gory ones.
“I’m guessing it was as gross as we thought it would be,” you said, giving him a small pat on the back as you passed the bed to sit in a chair by the small table. Dean dumped himself down on the other bed and began undoing the buttons on his flannel so that his black T-shirt underneath could be seen.
“Worse,” Sam grumbled.
“Well,” Dean turned to look at you and Sam.  “We got nothing at the vic’s house.  That was the last of the three and still nothing.”
Sam gulped down air before speaking.  “Well, there were no hex bags in the bodies.”
You shook your head.  “Okay, so let’s go down the list—”
“The very short list,” Dean put in.
“Can’t be a demon since there was no sulfur,” you said, ignoring him.  “Not a witch, because there were no hex bags, and nothing to suggest witchy activity.”
Dean smirked.  “‘Witchy activity?’”
You threw a plastic fork at him from last night’s take-out dinner of cheese burgers and fries.  He frowned down at where it hit his thigh.
“You see this, Sammy,” Dean said to his brother.  “Before she threatened to poke holes in me, now she’s trying to spear me with plastic utensils.”
Sam frowned and looked over at you. “You threatened to shoot him?”
“He scared me,” you told him plainly.
Sam nodded as if this was all the clarification he needed and turned back to Dean. “Shouldn’t’ve scared her, Dean.”
Dean picked up the fallen fork and threw it at Sam who expertly dodged it.  His color was starting to return to normal, which reminded you of your list.  You sighed.
“Okay, focus guys,” you said.  “No ectoplasm means no vengeful spirit.  No dead family members or friends who would want them dead, which means no ghost. I believe this is what the kids call an impasse.”
“Nope,” Dean sighed.  “Think that’s just you, sweetheart.”
“There’re more forks here, Dean,” you warned. “I wouldn’t push your luck.”
He put his hands up in a sign of surrender.
“Wait,” Sam said in his ‘I think I’ve got something’ voice.  “What if it is a ghost?”
You didn’t have time to respond because Sam was already up and sitting at the table across from you in front of his laptop.  He tapped away as Dean came to stand behind you, one hand on the back of your chair and the other on the tabletop.
“Care to fill us in, Sammy?” Dean said.
Sam kept typing.  “Just think about it.  We don’t really know that much about ghosts.  We know that if they stay long enough, they go vengeful. We know that when they expend lots of energy, they leave behind ectoplasm. We know that they can haunt things, people, and even places.  Sometimes they don’t know what they’re doing, sometimes they do. The truth is, we don’t really know all that much about how much ghosts can do.”
You frowned.  He was right, of course.  Dean had once caught a ghost virus and it almost stopped his heart.  On their first hunt together, Sam and Dean had encountered a woman in white who had almost killed Sam.  Even Bobby had been attached to his whiskey flask after he’d died.  You’d seen an entire building haunted by one ghost alone, and you’d seen one dilapidated house haunted by many ghosts.
But there was one problem with his theory.
“Yes,” you said, “but we’ve never seen ghosts do this.  Not since the breaking of the seals to free Lucifer.  The witnesses.”
“Aha!” Sam exclaimed, flicking his computer screen.  You and Dean moved to the other side of the table to inspect it.
“Uh, care to explain this to us normal folk, Sammy?” Dean asked, pointing to the screen. It was a picture of a thin man in his late fifties maybe, wearing a porkpie hat and a tweed jacket.
“We were looking for a link to the victims, here’s our link,” Sam pointed to the man on the screen.  “Meet Professor Ike Weizmann. He was an Anatomy and Physiology professor at the university in Norman.  It says that last year he suffered a severe asthma attack in his lab during a lecture and died. Apparently, his family filed a lawsuit against the board of the University last year because they thought the attack was caused by mold in the walls that went left unchecked.  A week before the court date, all of the members of the board quit and the school was closed for an entire month before they were replaced.”
Dean licked his bottom lip.  “Please tell me that there were only three members on that board.”
Sam shook his head and clicked onto another page on his laptop.  He pointed to a list of people.  “There are two more: Lisa Warren and Keith Garfield. Both live in the area.”
You shook your head.  “Based on the pattern, it seems like he’s been killing them every twenty-four hours.  But, I don’t get it—why wait until a year after his death to come and get his vengeance?”
Sam turned in his chair to face the two of you, shaking his head.  “I have no idea.  Maybe he was waiting for the right time? Who knows.  But I’ve got the addresses for both of the other board members.”
“How much time until the next murder?” Dean asked you.
“Um,” you did some quick math in your head.  “Well, McCreedy was killed somewhere around eleven last night, they think.  It’s eight now.  So, three hours, give or take.”
“We’ll split up,” Sam said.  “Dean, you take Keith and I’ll take Lisa.  He’s only going to kill one tonight, and they live on opposite sides of town so—”
“So whoever finds Professor Bowler Hat,” Dean cut in, “is on their own until backup comes.”
“I don’t like this plan,” you said.  “Wait, uh, what is the plan, exactly? Specifically, what am I doing while one of you is almost dying?”
“Nobody’s gonna die,” Dean assured you.
Sam nodded his agreement.  “You’re going to go to the cemetery in the middle of town.  According to the archives, Weizmann was buried. So you’re gonna burn the remains.”
You could see it in Dean’s clenched jaw and tight shoulders that he didn’t like you going on your own, but he also knew that you could handle yourself. You were no damsel in distress, and he knew that.  Nevertheless, you laced your fingers through his.  “I’ll be fine.  Just burning bones.  Nothing new.”
He sighed. “I know. Alright,” he looked at Sam.  “I’ll drop you off by Lisa, then Y/N by the cemetery, and then I’ll head over by Keith.”
“If I burn the bones,” you said, “you guys should still stay there until after eleven, just to be sure.”
“Alright,” Sam said. “Let’s get ready and go.  The faster we get this over-with, the faster we get back to the bunker.”
The rest of the salt ’n burn went off without a hitch.  You were thrown into a tree, but you managed to light fire to the bones before the ghost killed anyone. Of course, Dean overreacted about the head injury you had.
Cas met the three of you in the war room when you returned the next day.  He offered to heal you, but you refused, much to Dean’s dismay.  You let Dean clean the cut at your hairline, though, and listened to him go on a tangent about how he should’ve been there with you.
You waited patiently until he was done talking to tell him your piece about how you were fine and the three of you had had a job to do.  Burning the bones just happened to be yours.  All three of you had an equally dangerous job.
As it was, Ike only attacked you because you were holding matches above his open casket.  It was to no avail on his end, though, because you managed to burn them anyways.  Dean came over after and helped Sam put the dirt back over the grave, having you wait in the Impala.
“I still should’ve been there with you,” Dean stood before you, his arms crossed and his jaw set.
“Dean, its just a cut,” you told him.  “I’m fine.  But I would really like to sleep for the next day.”
His features softened, but only slightly. “It’s late. C’mon.  Let’s go to bed.”
You grinned at him and hopped off of the library table. “Yes, please.”
“But you gotta sleep on your own pillow,” he said with a small smile, roping his arm around your waist, though you were fine to walk and had told him so several times.
“Why?” you whined.  “You’re such a comfy pillow.”
“Don’t objectify me.”
