Hey there lovelies. Here we are again-- coming up on Monday. I really hope you all got a chance to get some rest this weekend, a chance to be creative, a chance to heal up a bit for the coming week. Refueling is incredibly important in keeping the ever wonderful you up and running.

Tonight I wanted to get a little sappy and tell you just how amazing you are. Seriously, have you thought lately about just how much went into where are you are today? Millions of years of evolution, thousands of years of civilization for your parents to meet, have you and then so many years of growing, learning, living, and here you are the way you are today. The amount of complex interactions that had to occur to make you are impossible to ever quantify.

You are a unique, beautiful, glorious creature, and when you were born, you had infinite potential for the coming years. You were wonderful, and sweet, and you meant so much to the world around you.

Today, you are both the same, and a different person as you were then. You are different in experience, and growth, but you are still the same beautiful, fantastic, full of potential creature you were the moment you breathed air for the first time. That hasn't changed.

You were worthy of love then, and you're worthy of love now.

You were beautiful then, and you may look different, but you're even more beautiful now.

Your potential was infinite back then, and guess what? It's still infinite. There is so much to do in this life, and you WILL get where you want to be one day (if you're not already there).

You also mean so much to the world around you. The players may have changed, or stayed the same, but you still mean the world to those who love you, whether they say it or not.

You are a tiny shining speck in the grand scheme of time on this planet, and yet, you make such an impact on every other speck you encounter, and just like the millions of years before you, you are instrumental in the backstory of someone yet to come.

You don't have to have kids, to make that kind of an impact (although if you do that's it's own path) even just interacting with others, giving kindness where there wasn't any before can cascade and make a world of difference, which then spreads in it's own infinite direction to the future.

Your life matters. Your love matters. You matter.

Rest well lovelies, sweet dreams.

'you were kind of like the break in my day.' - #zhengyisao

this was drawn as part of #bonnetbouquet drawing prompt. the three elements i was given were yellow, zheng (portrayed by the incredible, @thekingprincess) and peonies. it's not often that i draw in this style but i really felt like going back to my fine art roots for this piece. and honestly? i kinda love it. it might be my favourite artwork to date.

you're probably wondering what the big announcement is going to be? well, here it is! since so many of you voted in this poll, for me to draw the "a curse is a curse" scene from 02X05 of ofmd, i thought...why not draw the whole episode?! so, that's what i'm going to be doing. page by page, scene by scene- i'm (unofficially) recreating 'the curse of the seafaring life' in graphic novel style. this is just a fun little, fan project i've been thinking about doing for a while. there'll be no set timeframe for page updates, as it'll be drawn around my irl schedule but i'm looking forward to seeing what i create! i'll make sure to add a hyperlink to each post, so you never miss an instalment!

some of you may have seen this posted to Instagram by the wonderful team, @saveofmd_crew ! #whywatchofmd

for me personally, i would recommend the show to anyone who is holding onto the hope that things will get better. at the fundamental core of #ourflagmeansdeath is a message of love, healing, and found family. with so many arcs to choose from, there's no doubt that you'll find a character whose story you relate to. representation matters on screen, and #ofmd has that in abundance. it is so refreshing to see an accurate and non-linear path to self-acceptance and personal growth, playout so realistically throughout the two seasons.

drawn in honour of @saveofmd_crew 's amazing #coolpirates event, which took place across all their social media platforms. i was tasked with creating some neat #ourflagmeansdeath artwork! over three days, i posted some never-seen-before drawings, all inspired by your favourites from the show because it really is about belonging to something. 💜🏴‍☠️

this piece was inspired by the one, the only, the completely fabulous @kristiannairn !

queer representation is pretty far and few between in the modern, streaming world. even then, with the content that is on offer, it's difficult to find characters or witness scenarios that really grab you by the lapels and scream, "hey, look! this is you! isn't it beautiful and wonderful?!"

Well, 'Calypso's Birthday' not only grabbed me by the lapels and gave me a hearty shake, it also made me cry tears of joy and feel so safe and seen. for a total of 24 minutes, i saw characters with whom i related in terms of gender and sexuality, dance, sing, and love. i witnessed nothing but acceptance and pure queer joy. and goodness, do we need to see more pure, unadulterated queer joy on our screens.
