Any favorite poems?
That is difficult to answer. There are so many that I like... However, I prefer the poems of Rainer Maria Rilke. Ernst Moritz Arndt is not bad either.
I want to show you one. It is called 'Liebeslied' ('Love Song') and is by Rilke.
Doch alles was uns anrührt, dich und mich
I translated it for you.
How shall I hold my soul so that it does not touch yours?
How shall I lift it above you to other things?
Oh with pleasure I would like to place it with something lost in the darkness
in a strange quiet place, which does not vibrate further, when your depths vibrate.
But everything that touches us, you and me
takes us together like a bow stroke
that draws a voice from two strings.
Which instrument are we curious about?
and which violinist has us in the hand?
O sweet song.

Note:
Rainer Maria Rilke (* December 4, 1875 in Prague, Austria-Hungary; † December 29, 1926 in the Valmont Sanatorium near Montreux, Switzerland; real name René Karl Wilhelm Johann Josef Maria Rilke) was an Austrian poet of German and French.
Ernst Moritz Arndt (* December 26, 1769 in Groß Schoritz; † January 29, 1860 in Bonn) was a German writer and historian.
(( Rilke and Arndt are canon. It's amazing that Ruki likes German writing poets because I am from Germany. This fact melts my heart. 🙈🥺💕 ))
