Summary: Every moment you survive is a gift and Joel can’t hold back any longer.

Author’s Note: Well, here we are again. I got nothing except this man has a hold on me like....anyway...also this is for week 2 of @the-slumberparty party game and a continuation or one off of a previous fic and last week I wrote my first Joel fic which has the characters in an established relationship (you can read HERE) and I thought it might be nice to show how it all started with this fic today. I realize in terms of the inspo I used from the show things are out of order but since I’m not following the plot of the show in any direct way I figured it wouldn’t matter. Warnings: little angsty at first but it’s a lot of softness and sweet, smexy quiet moments.

There are no real spoilers for Ep 5 here, but I did use a part of it as inspo and I always like to warn you <3

Run.

That’s the only word you can hear, the rumbling sound of his voice echoing through your head as you pump your legs faster and feel your lungs burn.

You can see his shadowed form in the window, gun poised with expert precision as the shots ring out around you, sometimes so close you tense and wait for the pain.

It never comes.

Somehow you make it back into his arms. He squeezes you for only a second, just a moment of respite, before he grabs your hand and you start running again...

The early morning is just beginning to awaken, the edge of the sky glowing with a soft pink hue as the sun stretches for the horizon. You’ve barely slept despite the calmness around you, the small safe house empty and the world outside now quiet.

You shift in your sleeping bag and turn to find Joel leaning against the old table, his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes focused on you.

“Did you sleep?” you ask him, sitting up.

The sleeping bag falls away from your body and your skin pebbles from the chill in the room.

He doesn’t answer as he drags his gaze down and over your bare shoulders then lower. When his eyes meet yours again something lingers and it makes your breath catch.

“Joel?”

Slowly, he walks toward you, the light of the dawn making him nothing more than a silhouetted shadow until he reaches you and his face comes back into focus.

“I…,” he starts, his voice pained as he extends his hand to brush his thumb across your cheek. “I almost lost you.”

You press your palm over his hand and lean into his touch.

“You saved me.”

“Darlin’,” he whispers, tilting your face up with his fingers and dipping his head until his lips ghost across yours.

His eyes wander over your face, their soft reverence only sharpened when they stop on your lips.

Whatever he wants to say is lost in the moment and he presses his mouth to yours, softly at first, but when you slide your fingers into his hair and drag him closer he hums low in his chest and deepens it, parting your lips.

He skims his knuckles down your arm, wrapping his fingers around you and laying you back down onto the floor. When he covers your body with his and presses his knee between your legs you let out a gasp of his name, tugging on his hair before you scrape your nails down his neck and dig them into his shoulders.

Rough and calloused hands ghost across every inch of your exposed skin and as he slips his fingers under your tank top he brings your eyes to his, a silent request, one you grant with a look filled with heat and desire.

Every caress of his fingertips is slow and teasing as if he’s savoring every moment and committing it to memory. His kisses are sweet and languid and the hair that lines his face scratches your skin as his lips trail down the soft column of your neck. Your body arches into him and you whimper his name.

His deep and satisfied hum makes you tremble in his arms and you fumble with the buttons of his shirt, desperate to feel more of his skin.

“Joel. Please.”

He lifts his head to stare at you, his breathing fast.

“Say it again,” he demands.

“Joel, please,” you repeat. “I need you.”

Your whispered pleas snap what little control he’s holding on to and suddenly he grabs your wrists, pinning them to the floor above your head.

His mouth trails teasingly across your bare skin, every touch making your pulse quicken and you push against his hold on your wrists, wanting more. The look he gives you says all you need to know and you let your body go pliant under his, your legs falling open as he settles between them.

“I can’t lose you,” he murmurs against your lips.

Any answer you might have given him is silenced by his kiss, and any other words you might have spoken are lost in the feel of him so close, a feeling you hang on to for dear life.

Functional Cosmetic/Hygiene Products Items can be used from any surface or a sim’s inventory and will boost hygiene/comfort. After several uses (12 by default), the product will need to be replaced. When using cosmetics from a sim’s inventory, wait until the sims finishes using the first item BEFORE selecting the second one. Otherwise, the second object will be removed from the inventory. Both the object and plug-in files are needed for each item to work properly in-game. Number of uses and motive gain are tuneable in simPE (BCONS: 0x00 = number of uses, 0x002 = hygiene, 0x03 = comfort). Some Assembly Required Display 002 has 7 slots and the 6th and 7th are actually below the shelf itself (I needed it to be this way for one of my own projects). The easiest way to build the cosmetics without having to worry about slots 6 and 7 is to: 1) Turn “move objects” on. 2) Place Display 001 and fill it with items. 3) Position the Display Deco (the arch) on the same tile. 4) Place Display 002 on the same tile and fill the first 5 slots with items. If you’re display isn’t up against a wall, you might want to have Display 001 and Display 002 facing in different directions to prevent traffic jams among browsing customers. this 13 second scene has single-handedly added an entire layer to doflamingo's character for me that i genuinely cannot get over, because he exhibits behavior that directly goes against the moral code he has set up for himself:

he only 'loves' his family so long as they are able-bodied & useful to him. vergo, who is in pieces impaled to a railing, is currently neither.
