Okay but it's interesting how we're starting to discuss more and more the impacts the humans have on the cybertronians in this series

Mandroid and GHOST aren't just nusiances or occasional subplots, they're the main antagonists.

The bot brawls were fucked up, and we know it (although I don't think it's quite clicked to the Terrans how big of a deal it was)

One criticism I see of the franchise again and again is that they underestimate humanity, and this series? Yeahhh it's not doing that.

gardin being upset for not knowing the methods rakiel is using to treat himself and others, not because he's mad that he's being upstaged but because he wants to be a better doctor and help people too. because maybe if he had known them before he could've helped his prince feel better since the start.

and rakiel just. telling him that he's already helping. he's already done more than anyone else. he was the only doctor that never abandoned rakiel, not even when he knew it meant his death sentence, who never stopped trying, who never gave up on him as a lost cause. gardin is very likely the only reason rakiel lived long enough for lee han to take over.

gardin is a damn good doctor who did his best with the resources he had and went far beyond what anyone should've asked of him. i love him so much i'm so sorry i didn't appreciate him enough in my first read through 😭

Derailment thoughts

The first 2/3 of Derailment were marvelous. I truly enjoyed the part when Qi Lian couldn`t understand why Jiang Xiaoyuan treated him like a stranger and attempted to be just friends with her:

And the next coil of a spiral, when he learned she was a transmigrator who possessed the body of his teenage sweetheart. It`s a very interesting question: who are we if we are stripped of our memories? Are we still the same person or another one? What if your lover is gone and replaced by other personality, but this other personality has the same appearance, temper, habits and gestures? Could you fall in love with this new personality again as you previously did? This topic started to unfold when Qi Lian came the whole path back from being scary and mean to her to mutual pining, but never was unfolded till the final point, because screenwriters went to other topics (and came to nothing at the end).

The last point I liked here was a drama inside a drama about their relationships at school. There is my second favorite trope "us vs the world" so I naturally enjoyed it and would like to watch the whole drama about it (but obligatorily with Lin Yi as a main):

Do you think I don't know what's on your mind?

The end of drama was ill-conceived though, so I can`t say that I like it as a whole thing.

it's so interesting and, for the lack of better word, amusing, how travis got back into his normal voice to say his bonus action when scanlan was on the death's door during the fight with the white dragon — poor guy has been clawed and bitten by a dragon and automatically got his two saving throws failed.

and i bet it wasn't grog who run up to him to poor a healing potion down his throat. it wasn't grog, who was throwing him the fuck away from the dragon. it was fucking travis with the way his voice sounded, terrified and determined and serious.

he sounded like the dad. and i find that beautiful.
