Wearing matching outfits with Shu

You´ve always thought couples wearing matching outfits out in public was really cute, even if some might think it to be cheesy. “Some” sadly seemed to include your boyfriend Shu Itsuki, who would often scoff when you excitedly showed him another post you found on social media where a couple showed off their matching styles

“Isn´t it just super cute? What do you think, Shu?”

But once again, he would only spare your phone a single glance before huffing and continuing to work on whatever new outfit he had been working on for the past week

“I fail to see how any of this is worth praising. It´s quite clear for me and anyone else with eyes to see that they couldn´t even spare the effort to pick colors that would suit both of them. The tailoring isn´t very flattering on either of them, not to mention the cheap quality of the fabric used. They´re clearly only doing this to chase a current trend, there is no heart in this soulless excuse for clothing”

You felt a bit miffed at Shu´s quite harsh take on the matter but it was to be expected with how passionate your boyfriend is when it comes to art.

“Aww really? I thought it was cute but I guess I can see where you´re coming from”

Afterwards, you dropped the subject, not paying any mind to it any longer and instead moving to talk about something else

What you didn´t know was that while you had been talking, Shu actually had been working on a very special outfit. You probably assumed that it was simply a new stage outfit for Valkyrie but you were actually quite off the mark there

It was true, Shu didn´t think too highly of all of those matching couple outfits you had shown him time and time again but that was simply because of how badly they had been made

And because he gets flustered at the thought of wearing cute matching couples outfits with you in public

So naturally, his first response was to be harsh because he couldn´t simply say that he actually kind of likes the idea of you both wearing something that so clearly makes you appear as a couple in public

But you just looked so cute when you asked him if he wanted to match outfits with you that he simply couldn´t say no to after all. Despite how proud and proper Shu likes to act, he really is putty in your hands and would do just about anything if it made you happy. Not that he would ever directly admit that

But the fact that he was sowing a brand-new outfit just for you right this moment was still a testament to that fact.

Yes, he could never bear to wear those cheap and poorly made store-bought outfits with you so Shu made it his mission to instead make something beautiful and outstanding that you could wear with pride

Truly, making something for you and thinking about you wearing something he had made with his own hands out in public made him feel all mushy inside that he couldn´t help but blush a little at the thought. Oh, he´s sure so sure you´re going to look lovely in this!

Naturally, this isn´t the first time Shu had made an outfit just for you but this time he made sure to model it after one of his own outfits so you two could match

After working on it for a long time and doing several revisions until he was finally 100% satisfied with it ( it needed to be perfect if he was going to give it to you as a gift) he finally called you over to present it to you

“Whoa, Shu you made this for me? It looks so beautiful, thank you so much!”

Your eyes are shining and Shu can´t help but puff out his chest in pride over your praise

Gently touching the fabric, you take a closer look at the outfit, and then a teasing smile makes its way onto your face as you come to a realization

“Shu, doesn´t this look strangely similar to one of your own outfits you wear all the time? Aww, did you want us to wear matching outfits after all? You´re so cute!”

At your cooing, Shu´s cheeks turn bright pink as you had caught him red-handed and he quickly moves to deny doing something so ridiculously mushy but you know him way too well to be fooled by something like that

“Don´t get the wrong idea, I simply had some fabric left over and thought that this was better than to let them go to waste”

He actually bought new expensive fabric explicitly to make this outfit for you. What a terrible liar he is

But obviously, you see right through him and kiss him on the corner of his mouth, rendering him even more flustered as you thank him for his kind gift. Oh, you´re going to look so cute together, you simply can´t wait!

And as much as he might try to deny it, Shu is also really looking forward to seeing you wear the outfit he had made for you out in public, matching his own clothing perfectly as you two hold hands

Shu is more of a romantic than he would ever care to admit but seeing your giddy smile makes him feel all warm inside as well
