Sorting Log Horizon: Shiroe (Double Bird, Lion Primary model) and Kanami (Double Lion, Bird Primary model)

Shiroe of Log Horizon is a Double Bird. Kanami is a Double Lion. /endthread.

But really, let's get into some more details. Shiroe is the point of view character for most of Log Horizon. He's the rare main character who is essentially a support. The class he chose, Enchanter, is magically weak, and shines when others take advantage of its abilities... Sounds like a Badger? Nope. The reason Shiroe chose that class was that he identified that he had a problem with trusting others and decided to learn how to do that by putting himself in a position where he'd have to rely on others to succeed, and also in a position where he'd have to squeeze out every last advantage to win. And succeed he does--but not only through direct contribution, but through strategy. Shiroe is quick to observe patterns and is able to hold an insane amount of variables in his head, keeping up with the status effects of a 24-man raid on the fly at the same time as calculating boss mechanics. By being in a support position, he is ideally placed to have a Bird's eye view of the battlefield. At the same time, Shiroe has a hard time identifying his own goals. He's much better at executing than at goal-setting, at least until he's seen the situation. When left with no input, he flounders - until he can get that input. He also has a few, mostly Badger-related, hangups about the methods available to him. Before the show's official beginning, Shiroe's a loner who has few real friends and is generally wary of organized groups. When he started out, he joined an informal group, which avoided ranks and distinctions - and which also had the Double Lion Kanami as its leader. In the show, Kanami is initially mostly defined by her absence - but even that absence itself is defined by the way in which she determines goals and Charges, easily leading people in a distinctly Lion way. Kanami wants to clear the hardest raid? She's not joining established groups; she's getting people together and going. Kanami wants to move to Europe and have a kid? She switches tracks and does that, completely turning her life around. And when Kanami does finally show up again, she resolves the current struggle Shiroe has by simply saying "THIS is what I want", and giving him enough input to crystallize his strategy. Her internal moral compass is something that Shiroe lacks, and that he also consciously works on emulating. At the same time, Kanami also thinks back to Shiroe and his brilliance in execution when she needs to. She knows what she wants; she does not necessarily know how to get it - and she learns from him. Shiroe, in turn, learns from Kanami - and when the show starts, he is perfectly capable of staking out a place of his own, because he wants to, and is capable of holding a group together, even though he definitely finds it much, much easier to be in Strategist mode than in Leader mode. I'd say that these two model Lion and Bird Primaries respectively - and they model them off each other.

While Rhaegar was typically a rather guarded individual, Arthur could usually read the other man like an open book. It deeply concerned him that he couldn’t right now. It was almost like his friend was trying to hide something from him, which was unusual as well. 

It had been happening more and more often over the last few weeks. Arthur couldn’t determine the cause of it. It didn’t appear like Rhaegar was pulling away from anyone else. Perhaps he’d been a bit more moody in general, but that happened occasionally with him. But usually Arthur didn’t bear the brunt of it. 

He didn’t like it.

Arthur was usually quite a patient man. He’d wait out whatever mood Rhaegar had fallen into, until his friend confided in him. But, something about this make him feel like something was off. And his patience ran thin rather fast.t

Waiting until they were alone, or, at least, as alone as one could manage in the Red Keep, Arthur confronted his friend, with a simple, “Speak to me the truth, is everything alright Rhaegar?”

Tbh I wish I knew more Java, cause I have a great idea for a Discord bot: roleplay manager & tracker. I know some D&D bots already exist, but they’re very much meant for D&D and only D&D. But if you have any other kind of group roleplay setting, those bots are fairly useless.

Like... I would love a bot that works like this:

A moderator can designate certain channels as RP channels.

Within one of those RP channels, users can start a thread with a simple command like !startthread.

Users can then designate themselves as active participants with !jointhread, which adds them to a reply order. They can then start typing up their replies as usual.

The bot can tell whose turn it is to reply next, and DM reminders to people if they haven’t responded in a designated amount of time.

When you’re finished with a thread, you can say !leavethread to remove yourself, and !endthread to finish it entirely.

Some other commands (which may or may not all be feasible):

!changeorder - to rearrage the turn order

!noorder - to set the thread as having no determined turn order, in which case the bot tracks if you were the last poster, and if you weren’t the last poster, how long it’s been since you posted

!skipturn - to skip your turn

!myturn - to show all threads where it’s currently your turn

!allthreads - to show all active threads and whose turn it is everywhere

!openchannels - to show which RP channels aren’t being used

!setremindtime - to change how long before the bot reminds you it’s your turn (you can say ‘never’ if you don’t want any DMs)

!hiatus - to set yourself on hiatus and disable all reply DMs (and !endhiatus to reverse it)

Some other common features from D&D bots would be nice too, such as the ability to keep track of characters and the ability to roll dice.

“It’s for the sake of your health, your Grace.” Arthur offered, gently. He was Dornish, he knew how horrible it must feel to be stuck inside on bedrest, never feeling the sun. Never mind that she was a Martell, who thrived in the sun and withered in the shade. “And for the little Prince or Princess you carry.” 

Rhaegar and Elia’s first child. He hoped for her sake that it was a boy. The toll the pregnancy had already taken on her health was dangerous. And the rest of Westeros wasn’t like Dorne. They wouldn’t accept a woman on the throne. They would want a male. It wouldn’t be long now until they would find out. Elia was fit to burst and the maester said it could be any day now. 

Yet…it was so hot out today. Unseasonably so. It was almost as hot as Dorne on a mild day. Until he had arrived to guard her, all he had done was lounge out in the gardens, soaking up the sun. It was a shame she would miss it…

“How do you feel? Perhaps…perhaps a very brief stay on your balcony or a quick walk in the gardens wouldn’t be remiss.” The maester would undoubtedly not approve, but that’s why Arthur didn’t intend to ask her. And everyone always seemed to underestimate Elia’s strength. He had faith she’d at least manage the walk to the balcony, if nothing else. And if she couldn’t? Well, he would be there to catch her, should she fall.
