I love that till the end this show did not drop the beat, not once. You choose love, and you choose it again, and even when you have no real choice, when people hate you for it, you still choose it for yourself; when you have your back against the wall, you choose it still. To choose love is also to choose yourself. And love chose you too, even when you were bad at it, when you’ve lost practice, lost your way, your mind - love chooses you, always. The highest form of love isn’t blood-linked, and I love that this show honoured that to its fullest extent with integrity, humour and its unique brand of sharp love. Eun-mi chose Jin-hee; Halmeoni chose Eun-mi; that started a beautiful chain reaction of love choosing love. What a legacy for Kim Jin-hee, so loved by so many and chosen by all, including her mother, her soulmate. What lovely, masterful work from Jeon Hye-jin and Sooyoung, playing characters who were absolute shining stars in each other’s orbits, in a show that adored them, reflected how complex they were, and recognised how valid they were for it.
