Legally Blonde time travel AU in which Warren goes back in time to undergrad and decides he is going to ride on Elle's coattails. He'll get his family to like her and pass his advantages on so that she goes further faster and he gets to be a trophy husband (he'd enjoyed modeling, but grew to dislike how distant he was from his family and the pulse of news).

So, imagine Elle, brand new sorority girl, getting a boyfriend who tells her before date 3 that he knows she can change the world and that he thinks she is a lot smarter than anyone (including herself at that point) knows. Imagine how horribly heady that would be to have someone's unwavering belief and confidence.

And Warren could get caught up in learning with her, but he's already been down the degree route. Instead, a Warren who commits himself to the idea of trophy husband. He keeps up his body, climbs to the top of their college socially, and cultivate charity interests and volunteer work. He builds a stronger relationship with his mother and figures out empathy (which isn't natural to him at all, but he can learn the steps even if he doesn't really feel them).

And Elle has no reason to not trust Warren and not love him. He was incredibly selfish before and he is still selfish, but now that selfishness includes both her and a veneer of generosity toward others. I think Warren probably lost a lot of his pride as a model too--being judged for his body and having to listen to people make fun of the future senator becoming a model instead.

Warren also remembers dumping Elle for his own ambitions, which is another reason he works so hard to be useful and a strength for her. Elle is good with social dynamics and so doesn't need him to translate for her, but he can work to get more gossip and news through broader networks than she has as he has more time to cultivate them (and that means deliberately reaching out to people who aren't in sororities or fraternities, who aren't his kind of people, but Elle can already get the Greek gossip, he needs to be able to offer her more). He can keep faith in her when she has doubts and help get her out of her head when she's overwhelmed.

Elle gets into Harvard Law again and Warren uses family connections to get a job nearby. And this is when he starts to worry and doubt because he knows Elle is about to meet the man she'd married in the previous timeline and, even though Warren had chosen to get involved with Elle again for selfish reasons, he's come to genuinely love her and is afraid he's going to lose her.

(When Elle gets hit on by her professor again, Warren offers social consequences. He has spent a lot of time building his social networks. He knows people and he can get the professor and his law firm shunned.)

(When Elle holds study group at their apartment, her friends assume Warren knows nothing, but then he surprises them by correcting something or adding an insight--he hasn't forgotten his time in law school after all. He laughs and asks who they thought Elle had studied with before them. Elle says he could have gotten into law school as well and he snaps back that he's too pretty for law school. Elle asks if she isn't pretty then and he tells her she's the exceptional exception. This old argument has turned fond between them).

Just--an Elle who sparkles with confidence in her intellect from day one and who loves Warren, but doesn't need him. And a Warren with his inferiority complex who has carved out a niche he enjoys and who loves Elle, but doesn't define himself by her anymore.

I love the original ship, but I think this would be fun, too.

Legally Blonde Time Travel AU because it’s my niche

First off I’m combining the movie and the musical cause it’s a crime that Professor Stromwell got cut but I love musical!Emmet with my whole heart so yeah. Basically, take the movie but put in musical!Emmet’s relationship with Elle and musical!Vivian’s reaction to Callahan hitting on Elle. Told through everyone else’s POV

- Set after the end of the trial and then Elle is sent back to when she gets kicked out of Callahan’s class. (via magical bracelet that Emmet gifts her from the thrift store as a celebration. Elle wears this bracelet through the whole story and enjoys the challenge of matching all her fits to it, and wow Emmet is such a good friend to know what style she enjoys :)

- Her new goal is still love: Love of helping people through law!

- And to reignite her friendship with Emmet who she loves like a bestie <3

- Instead of Elle being distracted by Warren she’s instead conflicted by knowing that Callahan doesn’t respect her for herself and generally uncomfortable around him. She still wants to do well in his class but dislikes it whenever he gives her compliments

- Vivian initially feels competitive towards Elle since she knows she and Warner used to date but is less antagonistic since Elle isn’t trying to get back with him this time. She does start to fall out with Warner sooner since she can see how Warner looks at Elle especially at the ‘costume’ party

- Speaking of the party!

- Elle is a better student this time (it helps that she already learned this so it’s more of a review) and she gets invited this time for realsies. She asks if it’s a costume party, an inside joke with herself, and Vivian jokingly says yes before clarifying no. Elle comes in her bunny costume anyways cause it’s a great outfit and that party needs more color than navy blue and solo cup red.

- Vivian starts to regret inviting her, feeling embarrassed to be associated with this pink clown, then Elle hands her bunny ear headbands with such an earnest smile on her face that Viv puts them on. I mean, uh, of course because Elle is top of their class and likely to go far in life not because of friendship or because she’s starting to enjoy her company.

- ... Or maybe it is because of friendship. She begins to question why she’s dating Warner when Elle leaves the party, clearly upset by something he said to her.

- Viv catches her on the porch and Elle is shocked but happy that Viv came out to check on her. Elle waves off her concern and says she just needs a walk and she’ll be fine. Walking alone at night is dangerous even on a college campus so Viv makes her promise to call her when Elle gets home safe and they exchange numbers.

- Elle turns down the offer of Viv’s jacket. Yes, because she’s hoping to see her best friend (who she isn’t the best friend to in this time line yet but that doesn’t stop him from being her best friend) and the hoodie he lended her in the original time line maaayyy or may not be the most comfortable thing she owned

- The night is nice, Elle’s glad she can enjoy the walk this time and spends her time on the bench star gazing rather than bawling and crying her eyes out.

- She gets lost in thought of what she wants to do in this timeline, one of the first times she’s been able to completely relax since she got here. Def wants to focus on college this time. Become friends with Viv. Deal with Callahan earli-

- Oh hello Emmet!

- They have their talk again. This time Elle is more cheery and why wouldn’t she be? She’s talking to one of her favorite people and she got back her favorite piece of clothing (not that she ever told him that and no, she never returned it and doesn’t plan to)!

- Emmet asks why she’s going to Harvard, not that she doesn’t deserve to! Just that it seems so far away from where she’s comfortable with if the way she’s huddling for warmth in his hoodie is any indication

- Love???

- She’s going to Harvard University,,,,for love,,, Well he’s only known this whirlwind of a person for a bit but he now can’t imagine her going here for anything else. The smirk she gives him hints that there’s more to her answer but she can keep her secrets if she wants to

- Emmet is honestly confused when she asks to be in a study group with him. She might’ve been tossed out the first day but since then she’s been a model student but he can’t counter the arguments she presents. Plus, there’s just something about her that’s captivating, maybe it’s how comfortable she is with him or how someone as smart as her is as humble as her at the same time. Making her laugh with his dumb “what’s up, doc” greeting, it’s something he wants to do again.

- Their friendship develops as it does in the musical but with Elle being slightly more touchy and both being just falling for each other a bit faster and neither wanting to admit it to themselves.

- Elle’s friends with the movie group, Vivian, David Kidney, Enid, and they all hang out together sometimes with Warren (Viv continues to question what she sees in him) and Emmet (the rest of the group feel like they’re all third wheeling)

- She still gives Callahan a resume when he asks for one. Pink but not scented, she doesn’t want to waste her best paper on him. Emmet finds this somewhat amusing since he’s seen her use the scented paper for grocery lists and short notes to him and thinks she just has a grudge against Callahan for being kicked out the first day

Not sure what else would happen :/ Elle definitely now carries a recording device with her when she knows Callahan is around just so that she can get solid proof of his behavior so that she can report him.

So, Legally Blonde is a super fun movie, but man...something about the framing has always frustrated me.

Elle Wood's got a 4.0 at an extremely competitive school. She got a 179 on her SAT. She is the president of a major Sorority. That means she probably handles tens of thousands, at least, dollars of fundraising a year, plus all the other administration. It is a giant organizational and and financial operation and she's in charge of it. And to get to be president, she probably held at least two other offices the previous two years that she was also very successful in.

She's beautiful, smart, rich, and white. What about her isn't going to be absolutely Harvard material. I understand why her parents and Warren don't think it's a good fit. But her advisor? The admissions people (the rich, white, genius from a top tier school is their diversity pick?) The people who she's meeting in that scene after she gets there, when they are comparing backgrounds? The work she's done with Delta Nu is 100% on par with the other people.

It doesn't feel real, it feels like the movie has to keep making people discredit her, mostly arbitrarily, so it can say "yeah, she likes fashion, but also, she works hard." "Yeah, she likes fashion, but she knows random facts about fashion and hair care that allow her to bamboozle people on the witness stand."

The movie seem to just...want to minimize all her accomplishments until she decides to get into Harvard. They dismiss her 4.0. They dismiss her sorority as a silly group of friends, not a major administrative endeavor.

Ironically, the sequel actually does a much better job at showing how Elle's background made her a formidable player beyond knowing random facts about haircare. It understands that sororities are basically giant networking events, and Elle uses that, and all those social skills she picked up doing her administratively heavy job, to get shit done in Washington. She uses her Delta Nu connections to find political allies and to swell up ground support. She uses her social connections to learn how the world works from unusual sources. It shows that she was actually built for the world she's inhabiting, once she learns the rules. And the world also...invites her in. She says to a connection "I want to get on your staff" and then she just...does it. She has to learn the ropes once there (again, something she does via her networking and organizational skills), but all that history isn't a waste of time.

I just...I really wish I could watch that movie and not think about how it doesn't know what the fuck its talking about.

Hazbin Hotel/Legally Blonde Crossover Au! :0

I don’t even know if anybody else will see the vision/ comparison but I was obsessed with the LB musical when I was younger and Charlie just reminds me so much of Elle woods maybe it the stubborn optimism or just how both are so supportive of people around them and trying to help others idk but I just thought it would work so well (also they’re both blonde lmao )

My idea of how everyone would fit into this AU:

Okay so Charlie, for the reasons previously mentioned, is Elle woods. I thought of Adam and Lute being the Warren and Vivian roles but like… Charlie and Adam where not not dating. Idk what the specific reason would be for Charlie to go to law school just that Adam inspires it by not taking Charlie seriously, and then once they get to law school Lute is like basically her bully and standing with Adam (whether Adam and Lute are involved romantically is up to personal interpretation ig). Emmett’s role would be split up between two characters with the romantic interest part taken by Vaggie and the mentoring being taken by Husk but both are supportive of Charlie in helping her reach her law-er-ing goals. Alastor would be professor Callahan (probably with out the SA like in the original musical :’)) but yeah like blood in the water is very alastor in that “I’m gonna mentor you but manipulate at the same time” way. This is also why I thought it’d make sense for Husk to play a part in the Emmett role, since Emmett is kind of stuck to Callahan but is believes in Elle’s ability (which I think Husk does too towards the end of season 1 which is nice).

As for the big Wyndham trial it would basically be The Vees V. Angel Dust. Angel is the defendant (Brook Wyndham) who is accused of murdering Valentino (Hayworth Wyndham) but won’t give any information or alibi and won’t take a plea deal. I think it would make more sense but maybe be less impactful if Husk got him to confess he was innocent as opposed to Charlie (idk maybe both Husk and Charlie get him to say smth idk???) I think it would be funny tho if Angel wishes he did but is innocent and pissy about it for a bit.

Velvette maybe stands in as the pool boy but maybe instead of hinting at an affair like in the original it’s more having to do with Angel’s contract with Val and trying to work for Velvette but turns out it a baseless allegation and Velvette don’t not give af about Angel just tryna take shit off of Vox.

Speaking of! Lastly Vox would be the role of Chutney, and it would ultimately be revealed he killed Val thinking it was Angel. (The reason for tryna kill him is probably smth petty idk)

There are a lot of character I couldn’t think of concrete roles for but this was just a silly idea I had last night while listening to ready for this (like bruhhhh Charlie is so Elle woods especially the beginning) idk I hope it make sense somewhat or at the very least someone else finds it funny lol

god you are so right, im so glad you are writing for hotchniss bc this is the first time i’ve seen someone get into all the details about them and i am thrilled!!!! I cant believe i forgot about Minimal Loss… To me that is a situation where as a team of profilers they have to be on top of their game, and season wise, its the 2nd time a character gets tortured or hurt and the others witness it (reid first, then emily, 3rd time if u also count elle) So hotch’s reaction when emily gets beat up is just insanity to me. The man who never loses composure, who always keeps a stone cold face even when he is in the middle of a divorce, with tears in his eyes and feeling helpless- Like that happens then and we never see hotch losing composure like that during a case involving the team (ofc the foyet arc doesnt count) so yeah i totally see your point and i agree!!!

With them its like they are always toeing the line of something more, its a tension that i can always feel with them and while i respect people whose cup of tea isnt hotchniss, I dont get how they dont see the insane ass chemistry

Ahhh thank you, I'm having the best time getting back to them. I don't think it had ever occurred to me to ship at all until Minimal Loss, like I just wasn't around fandom at all, so I didn't watch things with that kind of eye? But that just sent me down a rabbithole and I'm still wandering around in the warren now lol.

I definitely think a lot of writing / directing / acting choices were made that point to Something More, and there's also just the twin-flame-ness of their characters. Like they're very similar in a lot of ways that I think would make them understand the parts of each other that would be hard to share with someone else, but also different enough (like, Emily is naturally tactile, and different things get under their skin) that it wouldn't be an inevitable disaster the way too-similar pairings sometimes are.

I think they have a lot to offer each other at any point in the timeline and that is VERY FUN FOR WRITING.
