Usually I had no trouble falling into a meditative peace and letting my subconscious work over my problems while I cleared my mind. But tonight, something bothered me. Something about Betancore’s demeanour was off, and it gnawed at the back of my mind. The look on his face…

Something haunted him, and he was trying very hard to hide it.

Eisenhorn has a series of epiphanies, some of them even true, and Betancore throws a rager.

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

I already answered this in a previous ask, but there’s sooooo much I wanna write so I’ll just give another answer.

I really want to explore Betancore/Eisenhorn/Bequin, partially because I think writing a threesome where two of them can’t touch will be an interesting challenge, and also because I WANT THEM TO SPEND SOME TIME HAPPY TOGETHER AFTER ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING CANON PUT ME THROUGH.

I’ve been TRYING to write them, but eisenhorn is so bad at talking about his feelings that he’s immediately derailed the plot. I am tied up in the trunk while he and his poor decision making has taken the wheel. So I have a feeling it’s going to be a couple thousand words longer than I expected to get there…

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

In the same vein, I was genuinely flabbergasted so see how much of a rare pair betancore/eisenhorn is. THERE ONE SINGULAR OTHER FIC. There’s barely anything for the eisenhorn series as a whole! DID WE READ THE SAME BOOKS??

Warhammer is such a massive franchise that I’d just naturally assumed there’d be a glut of works, maybe not for eisenhorn, but there’s honestly a far fewer for the franchise as a whole compared to other fandoms of its size and age.

I know the Warhammer fanfic writers are out there, it just must be somewhere other than ao3. Probably on forums that are far older than ao3, actually. WHERE ARE YOU??

It kind of sucks, because I work hard on the fic and it feels a bit like shouting into the void, but also the larger Warhammer fandom kind of scares me, so it’s kind of nice to feel the general ease of knowing that my zany romcom antics being inserted into this grim dark setting is living in peace, unnoticed
