try to remember to use a/b/o, a b o, or omegaverse instead of the shorthand ‘abo’ - that’s a slur used in Australia to refer to Aboriginal natives.

*I’ve spelled it out here for clarity’s sake, but if people would prefer me to censor it, please let me know how best to do so and I’ll edit the post accordingly!

please do not call it ABO. that is a racial slur against indigenous people in australia. it is very offensive and we indigenous people have asked the fanfic community to stop for a very long time. it's like calling a genre the n word.

I had added a tag in the original ask, but I probably should have made a note in the message as well! Sorry about that.

Note/Reminder: Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics should be called Omegaverse where possible to avoid using the abbreviation, which is a racial slur, like Anon said.

If anyone has the post handy that goes through the explanations more in-depth, can you send it my way so I can link it here? I cannot find it when I try to search my blog.

EDIT: @pocketsunshineharry sent me one of the posts I’ve seen (here) There has been at least one that I remember that gave more history, but this is a great starting reference. I’ve been told dots or slashes between letters is okay, too, since omegaverse isn’t a very popular name for that universe.
