Went to TESCO today and seen this. Can't wait for this but I really hope it and the info we get from it lives up to the pure torture we as a fandom (dw and thasmin whise) have had to face for 4 and a ½ months straight.

This week in obscure Doctor Who expanded universe references the internet has found:

First, the pub has a beer called Llanfer Ceiriog Pale Ale. While there's some similarly named locations IRL, with the Ceiriog Valley being a valley in North-East Wales, there is no place actually called this. Instead it's seemingly a direct reference to a fictional Welsh village visited by Seven and Ace in Cat's Cradle: Witch's Mark, connected by a stone circle to a planet of fantasy creatures. Quite ironic, given how mocking the landlady and patrons are about people thinking Welsh villages are backwards and full of witchcraft.

Secondly, while this might be a coincidence, Kate's suggestion of a Sontaran's arrival inspiring belief in God could be referencing DWM 59's comic: "The Gods Walk Among Us", where ancient Egyptians indeed mistake a Sontaran named Styx for a god.

Bonus, because it's not actually a reference, but just a reused filming location:

The pub Ruby stays in is the same one in Countrycide. At least in this case, however, it's just a filming location coincidence. The external shots are completely different, they're in different villages, and the pubs have different names.

The next Doctor who magazine is coming out tomorrow so hopefully we will get more news on the centenary special. Maybe so.e thasmin hints??? Centenary wait to find out.

This is every issue that had either 13, the Fam, the Master or the Fugitive Doctor on the cover. Aren't they a sight to behold.

(these are paraphrased bc memory Bad) - mandip saying 'i asked the director, can i look at her [the doctor] like that? and he said, yes you can look at her like you love her' - mandip commenting on the 'are you two seeing each other?' line as a (perhaps unintentional but very real) hint of thasmin - mandip saying she intentionally made eyes at the doctor because 'she could see her character going in that direction' - mandip saying 'thasmin' - literally every word out of mandip's mouth actually - yaz being described as 'the woman who fell for the woman who fell to earth' - the lesbian lighting thasmin cover - THASMIN HUG IN THE COMIC + YAZ SAYING 'I'M NEVER LEAVING YOU' + THE DOCTOR PROCEEDING TO GIVE YAZ A FLOWER AND SAY 'WE'VE GOT A LOT OF LIVING LEFT TO DO' - the majority of the letters sent in and published being ones about how yaz was an inspiration to them as queer people - half the fanart chosen being thasmin fanart (DWM thasmin edition??) - GOGGLES!13 IS BACK FOR TPOTD!!!!!!!!!!! - JODIE TALKING ABOUT THASMIN???? FINALLY????? - mandip saying 'i showed jodes all the fanart' and potentially best of all: MANDIP FUCKING GILL: "SHE'S [YAZ IS] GROWING UP, SHE'S GOT GROWING PAINS, SHE'S TRYING TO FIGURE HERSELF OUT... IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE"
