Air-dropping aid is still carrying water for Israeli lapses in humanity and is only a Band-Aid instead of life support. The US has to stop the murder spree. No more weapons.

It’s clear that in the short-to-medium term, President Biden—and the vast majority of rank-and-file elected Democrats behind him—will guarantee complete immunity, and virtually infinite resources, to maintain violent apartheid rule over Palestine. This cowardice has imperiled re-election chances. His mishandling of the Gaza crisis may cost him key battleground states, such as Michigan and Pennsylvania, where margins are already razor thin. Democrats frankly can’t afford to lose the vast swaths of voters (especially Arab and Muslim voters) who may, with good reason, choose to stay home in November. Biden’s answer to his skeptics boils down to a familiar refrain: “Trump is worse.” Maybe he should check in with freshly minted 2024 campaign advisor Hillary Clinton on how that worked out for her.
[...]
The Israel lobby perceives even rhetorical criticism from Congress as an existential threat. They’re dumping tens of millions of dollars into a handful of Democratic primaries in hopes of insulating themselves from further critique, which hardly seems like the action of a poised, confident movement. The paranoia may be justified: the Israeli government is losing the battle of public opinion across the world and, increasingly, in the United States. The Israel lobby is on defense for the indefensible, claiming that the IDF’s mass murder of Palestinian civilians is justified by the logic of “self-defense,” while simultaneously scrambling to obfuscate the explicitly annexationist ambitions of the Israeli regime. But the spin is failing. According to one recent poll, half of Biden’s 2020 voters believe that Israel is currently committing a genocide.

US Vetoes UN Attempt to Recognize Palestinian State
By Andrew Anglin
Tumblr media
I don’t understand what so-called “normal people” think when they see the way America supports Israel. How does it make sense, unless America is run by the Jews? How is that not the only possible explanation?
At least with Russia, you can see that the US is trying to destroy a competitor nation. They want to break up Russia, turn it into a democracy, and suck out their resources. You can look at it and understand it.
That said, most “normal people” think the US is backing the Ukraine because… let me see if I can grasp the zeitgeist here… they think the US is fighting Russia in order to liberate the people of the Ukraine from a genocide. Or something. Frankly, I cannot grasp the zeitgeist.
The best way I understand the “normal people” view of the Ukraine war is Kamala Harris’ explanation of why America was going to dump billions into this war shortly after the invasion. She said: “Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine so, basically, that’s wrong.”
Tumblr media
Regardless, the Ukraine is looked at by most “normal people” as some kind of morality crusade. Again, smarter “normal people” understand that the US views Russia as a competitor (in particular in light of their alliance with China) and is therefore trying to undermine it.
No such explanation exists for why the US government is so obsessed with Israel, despite the fact that only boomers care about Israel, and only 15% of Democrat voters sympathize with Israel – half that which sympathizes with Palestine.
Tumblr media
This is from Pew.
America is on the verge of entering a major war, much bigger than anything else we’ve seen since World War II, and there is no explanation why – except “America is controlled by Jews.”
I guess the retards on college campuses would tell you Joe Biden is a white supremacist? Frankly, I don’t know what they would say. Do they talk about AIPAC and the amount of money Israel pours into American politics now? I don’t think they do. I would like to see someone serious do a poll of what the pro-Palestine protesters believe. Maybe go ahead and ask them about the Ukraine as well, lol. It is, hilariously and confoundingly, mostly the same people supporting the Ukraine war and opposing the Israel war.
Both American political parties are attempting to package these two wars together, framing them both as the moral responsibility of the American people. Tucker Carlson, very good on him, has actually been pretty vocal in opposing both. Most of the media supports both.
Obviously, anyone who understands anything is opposed to both wars, as they are exercises in slaughter for the financial and geopolitical benefit of a small minority of arms dealers, bankers, and globalists. But I can basically understand how “normal people” support both the Ukraine and the Palestinians, based on the framing of both as victims of evil white people. What I can’t understand is what these people think about the fact that the US is the big hero of the Ukraine and a genocidal maniac in Palestine.
And what do they think of the great warrior Zelensky offering unequivocal support for Israel?
Tumblr media
Probably, the simple explanation is that this is all “vagina logic,” i.e., totally emotional nonsense devoid of reason. Joe Biden can be the hero and champion of the downtrodden and a genocidal maniac at the same time. Most of these “normal people” we’re discussing here are women or totally estrogenized men.
Nothing a woman thinks is really worth putting too much thought into, as a basic rule. But what we want to do is spread anti-Jewish propaganda, and take this sentiment against what Israel is doing, and turn it into a generalized opposition to international Jewry. To that end, it would be nice to understand how their thoughts work. However, I read reddits about support for Palestine, and I don’t understand it. It appears to be simply a very visceral opposition to Israel’s murder campaign. They do not seem to have a political framework beyond sheer emotionalism.
Still, they’re protesting Joe Biden everywhere he goes. They must be asking what is going on.
People should be going to these protests and handing out fliers about Jewish control of America. Just change “Jew” to “Zionist,” and show the Biden cabinet.
Secretary of State, Secretary of Homeland Security, Attorney General, Treasury Secretary – all Zionists.
The situation is so extreme.
Vetoing Palestinian statehood is madness in any normal paradigm of reality. The US, officially, is committed to a “two-state solution.” Now they want one state.
Frankly, there should be one state: Palestine. There is no benefit to anyone in the existence of an Israeli state.
Reuters:
The United States on Thursday effectively stopped the United Nations from recognizing a Palestinian state by casting a veto in the Security Council to deny Palestinians full membership of the world body. It vetoed a draft resolution that recommended to the 193-member U.N. General Assembly that “the State of Palestine be admitted to membership” of the U.N. Britain and Switzerland abstained, while the remaining 12 council members voted yes. “The United States continues to strongly support a two-state solution. This vote does not reflect opposition to Palestinian statehood, but instead is an acknowledgment that it will only come from direct negotiations between the parties,” Deputy U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Robert Wood told the council.
What?
Do you read the news, buddy? Netanyahu has officially ruled out any discussion of a Palestinian state.
Tumblr media
Who the hell is Robert Wood?
Tumblr media
Ah, okay. That explains it. He can’t read.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the U.S. veto in a statement as “unfair, unethical, and unjustified.” Palestinian U.N. Ambassador Riyad Mansour, at times emotional, told the council after the vote: “The fact that this resolution did not pass will not break our will and it will not defeat our determination. We will not stop in our effort.”
Tumblr media
The Palestinian push for full U.N. membership came six months into a war between Israel and Palestinian militants Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and as Israel is expanding settlements in the occupied West Bank, which the U.N. considers to be illegal. Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz commended the United States for casting a veto. Addressing the 12 council members who voted in favor of the draft resolution, Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Gilad Erdan said: “It’s very sad because your vote will only embolden Palestinian rejectionism even more and make peace almost impossible.”
What does that mean?
Palestinian rejectionism doesn’t even exist anymore, save for among Hamas. Or, it didn’t before this genocide began. What he’s saying is the opposite of the truth: if the Palestinians believed they had a path to statehood, they would be much less inclined to fight.

The Left Is Finally Building A Response To AIPAC 🐖 🐷 🐗 (The Incurable Zionist Cancer)
AIPAC has Become the Key Force Against Progressives in Democratic Primaries, But a New Coalition is Seeking to Protect the Party’s Left Flank.
— Akela Lacy | March 11 2024 | The Intercept

After Decades Of avoiding Direct Involvement in Electoral Politics, the country’s flagship Israel lobby group, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, formed a pair of political action committees in recent years and has been spending millions on political races.
Its targets have been progressives, with AIPAC becoming heavily involved in Democratic primaries. In addition to recruiting candidates to challenge incumbent Democrats, the group plans to spend at least $100 million on 2024 races.
Now, progressives are fighting back, building a bulwark against the pro-Israel lobby onslaught with a new campaign to reject AIPAC.
A group of 25 progressive organizations — including Justice Democrats, the Working Families Party, the IfNotNow Movement, and Jewish Voice for Peace Action— launched the Reject AIPAC coalition Monday. The coalition plans to organize against AIPAC across electoral, political, and digital arenas. One facet of the plan calls for a seven-figure electoral spending campaign to defend members of Congress being targeted by AIPAC.
In a press release announcing its launch, the coalition said it would work to “organize Democratic voters and elected officials to reject the destructive influence of the Republican megadonor-backed AIPAC on the Democratic primary process and our government’s policy towards Palestine and Israel.”
Financed by AIPAC’s major donors, including Republican billionaires and key GOP funders, the 2021 launch of the Israel lobby’s new super PAC was readymade to outspend progressives. AIPAC and its allies have reshaped the electoral field in key primaries, shifted the balance of power in Congress, and imposed costly consequences for criticism of U.S. support for Israel’s human rights abuses.
The Washington debate around the Israeli–Palestinian conflict has become particularly fraught amid Israel’s relentless assault on the Gaza Strip. Even as the International Court of Justice ruled that a case against Israel for genocide should proceed, progressive members of Congress have been attacked for using the term — or, early on in the war, just for calling for a ceasefire.
AIPAC recruited and is bankrolling a challenger to Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., for instance, who made early and forceful calls for a ceasefire in the Gaza war. Rep. Summer Lee, D-Pa., who faced an AIPAC spending onslaught in 2022, is expected to face millions in AIPAC expenditures again this year.
“We have watched as AIPAC has done everything it can to silence growing dissent in Congress against Netanyahu’s assault on Gaza — which has killed over 31,000 Palestinians — even as Democratic voters overwhelmingly support a ceasefire and oppose sending more blank checks to the Israeli military,” the coalition said. “Now, AIPAC’s Republican donor-funded Super PAC, the United Democracy Project, is threatening to spend $100 million targeting the handful of Black and brown members of Congress who have led the calls for a ceasefire and the equal protection of Palestinian and Israeli lives.”
AIPAC And Its Allies’ Growing Influence on Democratic Party Politics has presented a major problem for progressives. The organizations backing progressives rely mostly on small-dollar donors and can’t compete with AIPAC’s war chest.
Even as it attacks Democrats on the parties left flank, however, AIPAC has cozied up to the GOP’s far right. In the 2020 election, AIPAC endorsed more than 100 Republicans who voted to overturn the results of that year’s presidential race.
This year, the group encouraged Republicans to switch parties to vote in at least one Democratic primary where it recruited Westchester County Executive George Latimer to run against Bowman. AIPAC is the biggest donor to Latimer’s campaign so far, The Intercept reported.
While progressive candidates like Lee have fended off AIPAC and its allies, its chilling effects reach far beyond elections. The group also has an outsized lobbying influence on Capitol Hill and spends millions of dollars a year on lobbying efforts, another arena in which the left has been outmatched.
The Reject AIPAC coalition says it will try to counterbalance those efforts on the Hill and call on members to disavow AIPAC’s endorsement and instead sign a pledge not to take any more money from the group. For the moment, however, many senior Democrats, including those in leadership, have benefited from AIPAC’s largesse.
“The overwhelming influence of corporate Super PACs on our democracy and elections has expanded the gap between voters and their elected leaders into a canyon that has been exploited by every special interest and corporate lobby,” the coalition said. “Rejecting AIPAC is a crucial step in putting voters back at the center of our democracy.”

Living in Amazing Times
By Daymond Duck Published on: November 10, 2019
First, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is a lobbying group of influential Jews in the U.S.
Among other things, AIPAC encourages members of Congress to support the Two-State solution (an agreement that would divide Israel and Jerusalem).
On Oct. 20, 2019, AIPAC’s headquarters in Dallas, TX, was severely damaged by a strong tornado that hit the city.
Some Christians are wondering if this destructive and very rare storm was a message from God because He has warned the world not to divide Israel (Joel 3:2).
Second, the Antichrist will rule over a world government, and the UN has adopted a goal to establish one by 2030.
To bring about a world government by 2030, the U.S. has to be weakened.
I believe globalists in the U.S. shadow government (some call it the Deep State) thought they were well on their way toward meeting the 2030 goal until candidate Trump promised to Make America Great Again, and he made it plain that he will not surrender America’s sovereignty to a group of unelected, unaccountable people in the UN, EU, etc.
The Deep State, in cooperation with the Obama Administration and Democrat leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives, decided to Dump Trump, and they have brought impeachment to a fever pitch.
Republican kickback has uncovered many details of the Dump Trump movement, and now it is beginning to drag in Mr. Obama, the Clintons and holdovers from previous administrations.
Although the establishment of a world government by 2030 is questionable, the Bible is very clear that a world government is coming.
Some are asking what is going to happen to the U.S. and Pres. Trump?
I don’t know, but it is not likely that anyone (Deep State, Democrats, or Pres. Trump) will give in.
America needs lots of prayer because this could get dangerous.
Third, I heard Pres. Trump say that being Pres. of the U.S. has cost him 2-5 million dollars.
He added that if he had to do it over, he would do it again because what he is doing is helping the people of this nation.
Bucking the Deep State and other globalists in the U.S. is helping the people of this nation, but he is pushing the USMCA and that will hurt us.
He apparently sees the benefits of a trade agreement with Mexico and Canada, but he seems blinded to the fact that the globalists are using trade agreements to create regional blocks of nations that are a prelude to world government.
We should pray that the USMCA never gets off of Nancy Pelosi’s desk.
Fourth, I am one of those that fell for the reports that Pres. Trump had abandoned the Kurds.
I now read that he has deployed more troops to Syria to protect some Syrian oil wells, and he plans to sell some of that oil and give the proceeds to the Kurds to guard ISIS captives, assist the Kurds that are helping the U.S. fight ISIS, and to enable the Kurds to buy weapons for their troops.
I have long believed that the Kurds will destroy rebuilt Babylon at the end of the Tribulation Period, and these oil revenues could enable them to strengthen their military and equip them to accomplish that.
Russia, Iran and Turkey quickly opposed Pres. Trump’s plan to sell Syrian oil and to give the proceeds to the Kurds.
They probably need to seek a spoil and a prey elsewhere (Israel, Ezek. 38:12).
Incidentally, I am usually reluctant to report something like this, but a highly respected and very influential Christian with ties to Pres. Trump and Israel, Mike Evans, believes Pres. Trump will recognize a Kurdish nation on Iraq’s border with Iran sometime between now and Christmas.
That would be a major headache for Iran and a major benefit to the U.S. and Israel.
Fifth, it is being reported that Pres. Trump’s withdrawal of 28 troops from Syria has benefited Russia, Iran and Turkey, but most of all, it has left Russia in charge.
Well, that fits right in with what God told the prophet Ezekiel about 2,600 years ago.
Sixth, Pres. Trump has established something called the Faith and Opportunities Initiative to give people of faith a voice on government programs, and he has given Paula White Cain a position on his White House Staff for that purpose.
She is chairperson for a new group called One Voice Prayer Movement that wants people to pray for the U.S. government at noon on the first Tuesday of each month.
More information can be found at the links below.

God is allowing us to live in amazing times, and it is very important for all of us to make our salvation sure through faith in the shed blood of Jesus and, regardless of denomination, to pray for the Church, our loved ones, our nation and the world.

Life is full of surprises. Like that time you were counting on a new bike for  Christmas, and were totally certain your parents were going to come through,  and then – lo and behold! – on Christmas morning there it was: a spanking brand-new  Segway! The final evidence that, despite your best efforts, you’d always be  a nerdy little dork. (And yes, a pocket calculator turned up in your stocking,)
That’s just what happened to #TheResistance this holiday season. For months  they’ve been salivating heavily in anticipation of the turning of Michael Flynn,  the former National Security Advisor now charged with lying to the FBI. Flynn  has admitted doing so on at least two occasions, both involving his answers  to questions about his conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kisylak.  During the transition – after Trump’s election but before he took office – Flynn  was talking to the Russians about two subjects: the possible blowback from the  Obama administration’s decision to impose more sanctions and close the Russian  compound in Maryland, and the Russian position on the controversial UN resolution  condemning Israel for building yet more “settlements” on Palestinian land.
The incoming Trump team was “intensely  focused on improving relations with Moscow and was willing to intervene to pursue  that goal,” as the New York Times phrased it,  even as the war cries in the Democratic party got louder and demagogues like  Adam Schiff waved the bloody shirt of Russia-gate.
Think about it, folks: both the US and the Russians possess enough nuclear  firepower to destroy all life on earth several times over. This sword of Damocles  is hanging over us by a thread, just as it loomed large during the last cold  war with Moscow. It’s a  machinery of annihilation that is set on hair-trigger  alert, and any number of events could unleash it: a miscalculation, a foolish  bluff, a misunderstanding, a technical glitch, a showdown similar to the Cuban  missile crisis. All that stands between us and utter extinction is the hope  that this apparatus of death can be restrained by mutual agreement. Bravo to  the Trump administration for making peace a priority. If this is now a crime,  and even “treason,” as the mouth-breathers of #TheResistance would have it,  well then let the Washington Inquisition make the most of it.
Given the scope of a special counsel’s powers, and the wide  berth he is given to pursue possible violations to the law far removed from  his original mandate, perhaps we should have expected that some other foreign  connection would come to light. Flynn was instructed by none other than Jared  Kushner, the President’s son-in-law, to approach “every member of the Security  Council” to block the resolution condemning the seizure of Palestinian property.  The Russians were directly contacted by Flynn, who asked them to veto the resolution  in the Security Council.
Flynn’s unsuccessful efforts on behalf of the Israelis were the fruit of an  Israeli appeal to the incoming Trump administration. The day after Flynn’s conversation  with the Russian ambassador on this subject an anonymous Israeli official told  CNN “that Israel – and reportedly the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, himself  – had contacted Trump to seek his assistance in killing the resolution.”
As special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe continues, the full extent of the  covert Israeli effort to undermine what was then US policy will come to light,  and this may prove to be the most revealing aspect of the whole affair.
What’s interesting is that an Israeli official would come right out and brazenly  boast of having turned to the Trump team to stop the resolution:
“The official – in comments that may come back to haunt the White House  – said that Israel had ‘implored the [Obama] White House not to go ahead and  told them that if they did, we would have no choice but to reach out to President-elect  Trump.
“‘We did reach out to the president-elect,’ the official added, ‘and are  deeply appreciative that he weighed in, which was not a simple thing to do.’”
By inserting that information into the public record, the legal case against  both Flynn and possibly other figures in the Trump administration is considerably  strengthened. Which makes one wonder: did the Israelis deliberately burn Trump?
Yes, I’m indulging in pure speculation, and yet why would an Israeli official  openly discuss such a delicate matter? Even as the outgoing Obama-bots were  setting  the trap for Flynn – an effort Tel Aviv may well have been privy to – the  Israelis were letting the world know that they had the Americans in their pocket.
This is more grist for Mueller’s mill: aside from that, Kushner has financial  and political links to Israel, and these are now likely coming under the special  counsel’s scrutiny. One can now see what direction this investigation may be  taking us: Instead of revealing collusion between the Trump team and the Russians,  the Flynn indictment exposed Kushner’s collusion with Israel.
Has Russia-gate morphed into Israel-gate?
If this is, indeed, the direction Mueller is taking, then this development  is certain to end the fondest hopes of #TheResistance. Because it’s highly unlikely  any public official, no matter how compromised, is going to be prosecuted for  collusion with the Israelis and/or their American lobby. The last time US law  enforcement tried that was back  in 2009, in the Larry  Franklin spy scandal, in which two employees of AIPAC, the powerful Israeli  lobby, were prosecuted for procuring vital secrets from National Security Council  analyst Larry Franklin. That case was dropped  because pursuing it would have revealed yet more secrets.
That was a case of outright espionage: “collusion” is a far different – and  much vaguer – matter. In any event, the fact is that after what seems like years  of accusations, not a single iota of actual evidence has corroborated the charge  that the Trump campaign plotted with Putin to deprive Hillary Clinton of her  divine right of succession to the Oval Office. The foundational myth upon which  the Mueller investigation rests – the idea that Russia was behind the WikiLeaks  email dump – was never real to begin with: the Mueller probe, therefore, once  launched, branched out into a more general look at foreign influence on the  incoming administration. Which could and should mean that half of Washington  will soon be lawyering up.

Congress’ New Military Spending Bill Forks Over Unprecedented Sums to Israel and Ukraine
By Max Blumenthal, AlterNet, September 20, 2017
Buried deep in the text of the mammoth National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is a gargantuan money dump into the Israeli defense industry, with $705 million specifically earmarked for “US-Israel missile defense cooperation.” The funding represents a full 1/100th of the whopping $700 billion military spending package, and a staggering $558 million increase from what President Donald Trump had originally requested.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the main arm of the pro-Israel lobby in Washington, reacted with elation at news of the funding, hailing it as a powerful shot in the arm for the Israeli arms industry. AIPAC singled out the bipartisan leadership of senators John McCain and Jack Reed for praise, thanking the duo for the record level of American taxpayer support for Israeli missile systems and research and development.
Approved by the Senate with almost total bipartisan consensus, the NDAA represents an $80 billion surge in military spending, $26 billion more than Trump originally requested. The bill puts funding for the military at parity with the spending levels of the George W. Bush era, when the so-called war on terror was at its height. Only four Senate Democrats voted against the bill.
As reporter Alex Emmons noted, the colossal increase in military funding could have financed Sen. Bernie Sanders’ proposal for free public college for all Americans, with $33 billion to spare for additional social programs. But in Washington, funneling billions into the pockets of contractors like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon takes precedence over nice things like a functional education system.
Alongside funding for Israel, the NDAA budgeted unprecedented funding for supposedly defensive weapons for the Ukrainian military, which has been locked in a destabilizing conflict with Russian-backed separatists since a U.S.-backed coup toppled its democratically elected government in 2014. 1.4 million Ukrainians have been internally displaced by the conflict, and with new weapons on the battlefield, many more are likely to be forced to flee their homes.
The $500 million earmarked for Ukrainian military will also cover the treatment of its soldiers in American hospitals, including “transportation, lodging, meals, and other appropriate non-medical support in connection with such treatment.”
While Trump sets massive sums of American taxpayer dollars aside to provide Ukrainian troops with first-class medical care, his administration has proposed cutting some $800 billion from Medicaid and other healthcare programs servicing poor and working-class Americans. If the $500 million reserved for Ukraine’s military were restored to the budget, it would cover almost all of the cuts Trump has proposed to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, which conducts critical research on heart and lung disease.
Providing new, U.S.-made weapons to the Ukrainian military has been a key priority for Kurt Volker, whose role at the State Department is supposed to entail ending the conflict in Ukraine. Besides serving as Trump’s man in Kiev, Volker is a neoconservative operative currently listed as the executive director of the McCain Institute for International Affairs. His organization is a faux humanitarian initiative launched by John McCain, the senator who was the driving force behind this year’s NDAA. The McCain Institute is funded by a collection of oligarchs, repressive governments like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the BGR group, whose designated lobbyist, Ed Rogers, is a lobbyist for Raytheon, an arms contractor that is certain to reap a massive windfall profit from the NDAA.
Raytheon also stands to benefit handsomely from the funding earmarked in the bill for Israeli missile systems. It has partnered with the state-backed Israeli arms firm Rafael, to produce the Iron Dome System, which has been deployed primarily to deter homemade rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, the besieged Palestinian coastal enclave.
The initial 2014 announcement of a $149 million contract for Raytheon to produce the Tamir missiles launched by Iron Dome batteries was hailed as “big news for owners of Raytheon stock.” If the NDAA passes in anything close to its current form, arms industry stockholders could see their stock skyrocket to previously unimaginable heights.
A week before the NDAA vote, AIPAC announced it had sent 50 members of Congress from both parties on an all-expenses-paid junket to Israel. These lawmakers will soon vote on the House version of the titanic military spending bill. Having just returned from a lavish propaganda tour, they are unlikely to whittle it down at the expense of their generous foreign host.

New Post has been published on Restore American Glory
New Post has been published on http://www.restoreamericanglory.com/breaking-news/cnn-pundit-a-certainty-that-trump-will-replace-pence-with-nikki-haley/
CNN Pundit: A “Certainty” that Trump Will Replace Pence With Nikki Haley
In an interesting moment this Monday, CNN political analyst Paul Begala said that he was 100% sure that President Trump is planning to replace Vice President Mike Pence with former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley on his ticket this fall. Indeed, Begala was so sure that this was to be the plan that he even set a date for the impending change.
“This is not a prediction. It’s a certainty,” Begala said at an AIPAC panel. “On Thursday, July 16 — that’s the date the Democrat gives his or her acceptance address — on that day, to interrupt that narrative, Donald Trump will call a press conference at Mar-a-Lago. He’s going to dump Mike Pence and put Nikki Haley on the ticket to try to get those suburban moms.
“You watch. Guaranteed,” Begala continued. “Trump put Pence in charge of coronavirus to throw him under the bus.”
Now, is there any truth to this, or is Begala just blowing hot air?
To be certain, if this coronavirus winds up being the agent of destruction that some in the media are predicting it will be, it’s going to fall hard on Pence’s shoulders. We wouldn’t go so far as to say that Trump is setting Pence up as a fall guy, but if things go south, the vice president will probably have to fall on his sword. That’s just the way of politics; Trump isn’t going to spend his entire campaign defending Pence.
It’s also (somewhat) presaged by Trump’s remarks last week, when he outright refused to say that Pence had his endorsement for 2024. Some took this to mean that Donald Trump Jr. or Ivanka might be planning to run for president, and that’s certainly a possibility. But it could also mean that Trump is tiring of Pence and is already planning to spice things up for the general election. Putting a woman on the ticket would not be the worst idea, and Haley has shown that she’s loyal to the cause. It could be a good match.
On the other hand, there’s something to be said for stability, which was one of the biggest ingredients missing from Trump’s first term. The turnover at the highest levels has been astounding; would replacing Pence at this late date just reinforce that perception of this administration of being constantly in flux? South Carolina’s in the bag, so Haley won’t offer anything from that perspective. Then again, Indiana’s pretty much sewn up, too, so…who knows?

Factbox: Democratic U.S. Presidential Hopefuls Differ With Trump on Foreign Policy
President Donald Trump’s unpredictable foreign policy moves have sent shock waves around the world, from his overhaul of U.S. trade relationships to his questioning of longstanding alliances.
But the Democratic contenders hoping to challenge him in the November 2020 U.S. election have largely eschewed foreign policy debates, seen as less important to U.S. voters, instead focusing on domestic issues such as healthcare, immigration and gun control.
When they have spoken of America’s role in the world, they generally have emphasized an intent to rebuild U.S. alliances damaged by Trump’s “America First” doctrine.
The Democrats are also broadly in agreement on the need to re-enter the Iran nuclear deal that Trump abandoned, to push North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons program, and for a two-state solution for the Israelis and Palestinians.
Differences have emerged on whether to reverse Trump’s tariffs on imports from China, and on when the United States should use military force overseas.
Here is a look at the foreign policy positions of the top 10 Democratic candidates.
JOE BIDEN
The former vice president and Democratic front-runner has said he wants to repair America’s standing in the world and alliances like the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
“The next president is going to have to be able to pull the world back together,” Biden told National Public Radio in an interview published on Sept. 3. “Four more years of this president, there will be no NATO,” Biden added.
Biden also said Trump’s call in August for Russia to be invited back into the G7 group of nations was “embarrassing,” adding that the Republican president’s overtures to Russian President Vladimir Putin while spurning traditional U.S. allies were “irrational and self-defeating”.
Biden once told Putin during a meeting, “I don’t think you have a soul,” Biden later said. As vice president, Biden condemned Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea.
Like other Democratic candidates, Biden has denounced Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election. Biden has said he would pursue an extension of the New START nuclear arms control treaty with Russia, which expires in 2021 and which Trump has not committed to extending.
On trade, Biden has indicated he would lift some tariffs that are damaging to U.S. farmers, but said he also would prevent China from stealing intellectual property and “dumping steel on us.”
Biden, who served as Democratic former President Barack Obama’s vice president for eight years, has argued he has the foreign policy experience that none of the other Democratic candidates possess. Obama trusted Biden with withdrawing troops from Iraq and uniting allies to combat Islamist terrorism, Biden said in his NPR interview.
But his long record also opens Biden up to criticism. He voted in 2002 to authorize the use of military force against Iraq, paving the way for President George W. Bush’s 2003 invasion that led to a long and costly conflict and destabilized the Middle East.
Biden later called his vote a mistake and has promised to end America’s “forever wars.” In a Democratic debate in Houston this month, he said he would withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan and suggested using bases in Pakistan to “prevent the United States being the victim of terror coming out of Afghanistan.”
BERNIE SANDERS
The U.S. senator from Vermont has combined his calls for a “political revolution” at home with a vision for a shift in U.S. policy overseas. Sanders has criticized high levels of military spending that enrich defense contractors and pledged to cool tensions with Iran.
Sanders said in this month’s debate that he and Biden strongly disagree on trade, citing his opposition to trade deals like the North American Free Trade Agreement that Sanders said led to job losses.
In the past, Sanders expressed solidarity with left-wing governments, but now draws a distinction between his avowed “democratic socialism” and governments like that of Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro, who he has called a “vicious tyrant.”
As well as opposing Cold War-era policies, he voted against the Iraq war and co-authored a bipartisan resolution to try to end U.S. involvement in the Saudi Arabia-led war against Houthi insurgents in Yemen.
ELIZABETH WARREN
The U.S. senator from Massachusetts has pledged to create a foreign policy with a focus on creating and defending jobs in the United States. Warren has said she would cut the “bloated defense budget.”
“We need to bring our troops home” from Afghanistan, Warren said in a Democratic debate, “and then we need to make a big shift. We cannot ask our military to keep solving problems that cannot be solved militarily.”
Warren was the first major candidate to call for Trump to be impeached for taking actions to impede the federal investigations of Russian election interference. She also criticized the president’s June meeting with Putin in which Trump appeared to make light of the election interference.
PETE BUTTIGIEG
Buttigieg studied abroad in England and Tunisia and worked for the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He took time out of his first term as mayor of South Bend, Indiana to deploy to Afghanistan with the U.S. Navy Reserve.
Buttigieg has pledged to reverse two pivotal steps taken by Trump by having the United States rejoin the Iran nuclear deal and Paris climate accord. Buttigieg has argued for scrapping the authorization for use of military force passed by Congress in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States, saying it has become a “blank check” for the use of force.
“When America acts alone, it can only be because core interests are at stake and because there is no alternative,” said Buttigieg, adding that neither the situation in Venezuela nor that in Iran passed that test. He also has said he would withhold U.S. funds from Israel if it annexes West Bank settlements.
KAMALA HARRIS
The U.S. senator from California has not issued a detailed foreign policy plan, but has emphasized restoring America’s traditional alliances like NATO. She has said trade policy should help the United States “export American products, not American jobs,” but added the nation needs to trade with the world and should partner with China on climate change issues and North Korea. “I am not a protectionist Democrat,” Harris said.
Harris has been criticized by some on the left for her links to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a pro-Israeli lobbying group. Her website describes her support for Israel as “unshakeable” and that she would “work towards a two-state solution so that Palestinians and Israelis can govern themselves in security, dignity and peace.”
ANDREW YANG
Along with his flagship domestic proposal for a universal basic income for all Americans over age 18, Yang has proposed a “reverse boot camp” to ensure military service members are ready to return to civilian life. The former tech entrepreneur’s foreign policy initiatives include a proposal to develop new encryption standards that are not vulnerable to quantum computing technology, as well as to invest in quantum technology to stay ahead of geopolitical rivals.
Yang also has said the decision to launch a nuclear attack should not rest solely with the president, proposing that the vice president also verify such calls.
CORY BOOKER
The U.S. senator from New Jersey has criticized Trump’s foreign policy as an “America alone policy” and emphasized working with allies to take on the challenges of China and climate change.
“We are the strongest nation on the planet Earth, and our strength is multiplied and magnified when we stand with our allies in common cause and common purpose,” Booker said in a debate. “That’s how we beat China.”
Booker has said it was a mistake for Trump to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal but that he would take the opportunity to renegotiate the agreement.
BETO O’ROURKE
The former U.S. congressman from Texas has said he would end Trump’s trade war on day one of his administration and suspend tariffs, a commitment none of the other top 10 Democratic candidates have made. O’Rourke has proposed leading a global coalition to pressure China to end anti-competitive behavior.
JULIAN CASTRO
The former U.S. secretary of Housing and Urban Development said in a debate he would put a renewed focus on Latin America to address immigration and to compete with China’s growing influence there.
He said a “21st Century Marshall Plan for Central America,” like the post-World War Two initiative to rebuild Western Europe, is needed “so that people can find safety and opportunity at home instead of having to make the dangerous journey to the United States.”
The United States should also pressure Venezuela to have free and fair elections and offer those fleeing the country temporary protected status, Castro said.
TULSI GABBARD
The U.S. congresswoman from Hawaii has made her anti-war position central to her campaign. Gabbard, an Iraq war veteran, has spoken against U.S. involvement in Syria’s civil war as part of a personal campaign to end “regime change wars.” She has met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and expressed skepticism that his government was behind chemical weapons attacks, drawing fierce criticism from some in her own party.
