What a beautiful, crystalline water! It's a shame I can't take my boat too much further in - I've run aground on the coral a few times. Have you checked out the abandoned resort to the East? It's pretty impressive. It's kind of amazing how quickly it all falls to ruin without people around to maintain it.
There's Ingfell, just across the bay, which is a dreary little whaling town. The folks there are always in need of something, which keeps me in business. The residents are always talking about the cliffs. Most seem afraid. Frankly, I'm not sure why they stay. Occasionally I hear deep rumblings from within the rocks. I don't hang around here for long.
I've gone inside just once. I sailed into that lagoon behind us and saw I could go left, right or straight ahead. Something about the place seemed off. Through the fog, it looked like the trees were… moving. I can't explain it. I turned around and sailed back out. I sometimes use this spot to rest up for a few days - the sunrises are particularly striking through the haze.
Some kind of ancient civilization must've lived here. Judging by the state of the buildings, things didn't go so well for them. I can't imagine they built all this around an active volcano. So the volcano must've become active some time after they founded their city. I'd guess that the volcano caused them to leave - or wiped them out, one way or another. All in all, it's a pretty inhospitable place.
