Trolls1 broppy is so special and important to me. I have brainworms (and they get more and more unhinged as we go) about them CONSTANTLY. Like:

First we have poppy making branch personalized invites to her parties even though he never comes. (She’s letting him know that he IS wanted among trolls.)

Branch KEEPS all of them!!!!!!! THAT IN ITSELF MAKES ME WANT TO THROW UP!

“I can’t wait to see the look on your face when you realize the world isn’t all cupcakes and rainbows” and then he looks DEVASTATED when he sees that look.

Like she was kind of just there doing nothing until the final act of the movie, but apparently everyone is having a goddamn animalism over this character because she talks four separate times and had like one song that was cut off and now the entire Internet wants her dead

so here's Eden and Neon :) they both work at the Hidden Reef, run by Beatdrop

Neon is a full-time performer and works with another OC I havent designed yet, P1-RANA, usually partying on stage with him. She's permanently grey but covers herself in colorful powder, glitter, and stickers to make up for it! :D

Eden, however, is a part-time performer and personal hit-for-hire for Beatdrop. for the time being she keeps an eye on JD on her off hours because of the debt he's accumulated for the Casino. Beatdrop wants to make sure he doesnt just disappear off the face of the earth and not pay his dues. Eden thinks his antics are funny. they're like..."dating" dating. not labeled but she does wear his shirts when she stays over

Fighting the first movie tooth and nail trying to figure out how it all goes down.

#between au #dreamworks trolls #main issue is that poppy and branch DON'T KNOW EACH OTHER prior to poppy arriving at bergentown #so the true colors scene DOESN'T WORK the way it does in canon #but i need branch to sing again dammit‚ his whole arc in this movie is taking his ''i am a BERGEN i am NOT A TROLL'' mentality #and shaking it vigorously until he comes to understand that he's both and neither and that's okay #like i know what i want for AFTER the events of the movie (pop village and bergentown as allies‚ trollstice & chef dead & gone)#but i need to know how to GET THERE IN THE CONFINES OF THE MOVIE (chef finds trolls‚ trollstice almost happens #poppy negotiates peace between their kingdoms like the girlboss she is)#just branch BEING THERE in the scene where chef shoves creek into gristle's mouth could change everything so so much #bc would creek still be yoinked and shoved into gristle's mouth??? would he still get the chance to show his true colors?????#AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA #possible idea is to retcon the timeline so that gristle senior is still there in the movie‚ but slowly dying from illness while his son #is acting king and falling apart under the pressure #but then i still need to figure out how the fuck poppy's role fits into that #there's just. gdmt branch why must you make everything so much more complicated #branch and his complexity addiction smh

Uhhh why aren’t the furious 5 in the king fu panda 4 trailer

#what’s going on #trailer looks awful but I’m not too scared bc dreamworks always makes their trailers super juvenile #and they’ve done this franchise especially dirty #I go into them more assessing if the concepts are interesting and I think they are #and I like the design of the new wolf/fox character idk what kind of canid she is #the shapeshifting villain seems really cool and I like the layer of having to take over the characters she is able to transform into #it does seem a bit too similar to the jade zombies from the last movie so I hope they make an effort to thematically differentiate them #if that makes any sense #overall the animation is obviously great but it’s not that much of a step up from the last one #like the quality of the CGI is about the same #I can see a lot of potential for visual spectacle with the villain #and really playing with the animation style #bc one of my favorite thing about the kfp movies is how they do that #like with the 2nd one how they used different art styles to represent different levels of reality?? (ig that’s they best way I could put it)#like the present reality would be in the typical 3d textured animation style #and the dreams were in the 2d style #and the stories were in shadowpuppetry #so yeah overall I’m not to thrilled about them making a 4th bc the og trilogy works so well thematically as a trilogy #with the whole body mind spirit thing #but overall it looks like there’s some promising concepts #but like please don’t push tigress to the background she deserves so much better

I’m sorry but it’s absolutely hilarious and yet adorable how the series handles Broppy’s relationship. First we get them traveling together as rivals (which was a bit more one- sided on Branch’s part) before slowing learning how to work together and to change for the other. Also it’s heavily implied Branch has an underline crush on Poppy. Then we get True Colors, and everyone thinks “okay they’re in love now”.

Some people/audience members are on board, others not so much. BUT THEN it turns out that the “I love you” they say to each other was a PLATONIC love confession. Like “you’re my friend, and I value you.” Which is still sweet, but was unexpected. (Though it does explain why the writers decided to put another platonic love confession scene between Bridget and Poppy. Yeah, I get it now)

So they just go through the journey as bffs who have feelings for each other but won’t say anything. And again, they learn how to work and grow together as a team and make the necessary changes to benefit the other. And then FINALLY we get the romantic love confession.

But it doesn’t stop there, oh no. Now we get adventure #3, this time with them as a full on couple. And they are actually really cute. Actually the film doesn’t focus that much on their relationship but we see hints of how they are as a couple.

Poppy is still all over the place but she’s much less in her own head and far more open to listening and being a good girlfriend.

Branch on the other hand is still occasionally getting exasperated by her energy but this time also has an appreciation for it. Also he learns to open up to her a little more and she’s there to listen and accept him with open arms. (Bonus points to their flirty dynamic because wow. They were adorable here.)

And it’s ONLY THEN (7 years after the first film) when they get their first on screen kiss.

Anyway. In conclusion: Trolls is the slowest slow burn I have ever seen in a Dreamworks trilogy.
