Headlines and Perspectives - One shot

Dr. Two Brains blood chilled when he saw what was printed on the morning edition of the Fair City Times. Guilt, torment, and anger coursed through his body. How dare the called her that! Becky wasn't anything like that monster! It wasn't her fault that Miss Crimes was making her commit all that violence and bloodshed. Two Brains let out a sigh, releasing his anger as he noticed how his hands were beginning to crumple and tear up the newspaper. "Besides. The only reason she is dealing with all of this is because of me." Dr. Two Brains mumbled in a guilty tone. He knew this headline will only make people's fear of Miss Crimes even worse. He had to finish the cure quickly before it would be too late. Victor frowned as he silently read the newspaper. Unwanted memories were coming back as he gazed over the words and the information about Miss Crimes printed in the article. "So now you see why I need you on this case Agent Cutter." Margaret spoke in a serious tone to the man as they were both seated in her office at The Agency. Victor let out a sigh. He had done cases like this before, but things were different this time. "She is still a child ma'm." Victor responded, his face bearing an slightly anguished expression. Margaret Fuller's gazed at Victor with a sympathetic look despite still bearing a hardened and serious expression. "I know but we can't have her running around and killing innocent lives anymore. For now I want you to find out more information on Miss Crimes such as he origins, powers, and weaknesses. If there is a way to contain her then do it. If not..." Margaret paused. Victor just grimly nodded. She didn't have to finish that command. Victor knew if he couldn't capture Miss Crimes, then he would have to end her life. Darius smirked with intrigue as he sat in his office. The newspaper from one of his associates who was situated in Fair City looked very promising. He then pressed a button on a device with a speaker. "Miss Lears, please bring in the contact information of Dr. Calvin Barriton and Professor Athena Cartwright to my desk immediately." Darius commanded. "Right away Mr. Brewster." A voice responded. Darius smiled wickedly and went back to reading his paper. "It looks like B.E.A.W labs might get a new bioweapon soon, or some scientists might get a chance to test out their weapons on Miss Crimes. Whichever comes first." Darius mused to himself as he drank his coffee. Archie Webber had a fierce and determined expression as he packed his hero gear up. Dr. Arannae was ready and willing to bring this Miss Crimes to justice. She was going to pay for killing his best friend Jenkins and for crushing Joe's heart. The poor man had called Archie and through tears and anguish told him what happened to Dr. James Jenkins. How Jenkins' mangled remains were found in his lab along with destroyed equipment. Joe had also told him about what was printed in today's newspaper concerning Miss Crimes. "That girl's murderous crime spree ends now." Archie growled as he headed out the door with his gear in tow. His pet spider Fluffy safe at his mom's house. Archie didn't want to imagine what would happen if Miss Crimes got her fiendish claws on his sweet boy.

All-Star Weekends: The Greatest and the Most Memorable

The NBA has the best when it comes to All-Star festivity compared to other leagues of American Sports. Since the 50s, the NBA All-Star concept evolved and even with the arrival of the flamboyant ABA, it just allowed for more creativity. Here I don’t mean the Slam Dunk Competition or the 3-Point Competition but rather I’m talking about the NBA All-Stars vs ABA All-Stars matches that happened in 1971 & ‘72

The short lived clash of the leagues on an All-Star level may have played an important role in bringing both closer to the point of merger and with it came the flamboyance that was severely lacking in the 70s NBA

Since the leagues merged and with the start of Magic-Bird era in 1979, the new talent with veterans like Dr. J, Kareem, Moses, ensured that every year’s All-Star weekend became a highlight reel on it’s own. As exciting as NBA Finals but on a friendlier tone (not the watered down complicated version we see today where players let each other dunk and the East vs West rivalry has been replaced by individual superstars rivalries)

The Peak, however, was reached in the 90s and here are two weekends that will always stand out in NBA All-Star Weekend history:

It’ll be remembered as the Golden All-Star Weekend due to NBA’s Golden Jubilee but also because of:

Gathering of NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of All-Time

47 out of 50 Greats gathered at Gund Arena. The three who weren’t able to attend were: Pete Maravich (d. 1988), Shaquille O’Neal (knee surgery) and Jerry West (ear surgery)

Michael Jordan recording 1st ever triple double in ASG History (no one had a triple double before him, not even Big O)

The upset in the game happened because of injuries of five All-Stars: Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Shaquille O’Neal, Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning but their injuries would pave the way for All-Star debut of Chris Webber and Kevin Garnett. I guess this is how life works

Glenn Rice (All-Star MVP) broke two ASG records that night: most points in a quarter and most points in a half

Allen Iverson was the Rookie All-Star MVP while Kobe Bryant set the record for the most points in Rookie All-Star Game history. This was destiny telling us that these two would dominate the league in the next decade

1998 NBA All-Star Game: The Crown Jewel

In my opinion, the 1998 NBA All-Star Game will always stand out as the most important from a historical standpoint. It was not like Magic Johnson’s 1992 All-Star Game nor was it like Michael Jordan’s in 1996

This game would put the Greatest Laker of All-Time in the making, Kobe Bryant against possibly the Greatest of All-Time: Michael Jordan but to know the greatness of an event, you have to read the signs:

Michael’s last All-Star Game in which he also won the All-Star MVP trophy

Larry Bird’s first ever All-Star game as a Head Coach

Kobe’s first ever All-Star game

And all of this took place in the city known as Mecca of Basketball with the location being Madison Square Garden

All Star games from the 80s till early decade of 2000s were pure magnanimity on display from the NBA under the late David Stern but the 1997 All-Star Weekend and the 1998 All-Star Game were a part of a Divine plan of more greatness to come in the league

A few headcanons for you

There were a few times that a few cheeky spirits would get attached to Patricia. She got ding dong ditched by them. It took her a hot minute to realize what was going on. She was less than pleased. They also left random items in the freezer. Items that wouldn't be affected by the cold.

Jenkins and Archie would make a short horror film each year for Halloween. They unintentionally caught some actually spooky things in their film. Patricia joined their tradition and went full Apparition in them. She was the best monster they ever had.

Before Sunshine and Alex reconciled, they still cared abit each other. Though Sunshine tried her best to conceal it. She would often come around to mock Alex while at the same time check up on him. Even during this time, anyone that went too far with Alex, they got a visit from a very upset Sunshine.

When Sunshine and Archie first met. Archie went face first right into a wall due to him being distracted by Sunshine. They were sad when they wouldn't let Archie battle her. She looked forward to fighting this cute hero. Causing her to up her crimes until the others relented and let Archie deal with her. She crashed into the walls and faceplanted onto the ground just as many times as Archie did. She was just as smitten as him.

Patricia adopted Melina in the same way she did with Sunshine. She just grabbed Melina one day and dragged her off somewhere for some girl time. Since Sunshine wasn't around. She loves Janet but she wanted a friend that was a girl too. Melina was very confused and concerned at first but got used to it. They found a middle ground with romance movies. Patricia is also a sucker for them.

Aww yes I love these headcanons. Lol Patricia's ghosts mess with Jenkins and Archie too.
