Eminent homosexual Lytton Strachey (1880-1932), as photographed at his ease by Dora Carrington (1893-1932). Strachey was the least accomplished of his literary family until he wrote 'Eminent Victorians' and changed to rules for writing biographies. Please left click here for more about that rule changing book a century on, in The Guardian. What not to say about about Lytton Strachey; 'It takes one degenerate to expose, or cover up, degeneracy in another.'.

CARRINGTON
Carrington (1995) ORIGINAL TRAILER

back in the day a cool and sexy asexual transmasc with squiggly gender presentation would sometimes get into a relationship with a cisgender gay man or two and they'd build a life together and it was pretty chill. part of the queer ecosystem.

DORA CARRINGTON // PAINTER
“She was an English painter and decorative artist, remembered in part for her association with members of the Bloomsbury Group, especially the writer Lytton Strachey. For her time as an art student, she was known simply by her surname as she considered Dora to be “vulgar and sentimental”. She was not well known as a painter during her lifetime, as she rarely exhibited and did not sign her work. She was distinguished by her cropped pageboy hairstyle and somewhat androgynous appearance, she was troubled with her sexuality and was known for her affair with Henrietta Bingham.”
