As you reached for thedoorknob, red and blue flashing lights caught your eye through the cracks ofthe boarded-up windows. You reached into your jacket for your FBI badge. Youfelt around for a second before realizing that you had left it in your blazerpocket, which was at the motel with your brothers. You swore under your breath,making your way to a different room. You slid around a corner as the front dooropened. Slipping out the back door, you jogged towards the front of the house.You peeked out from behind a wall, swearing again when you saw the policemen monitoringthe front yard. You glanced around, crouching behind a large bush. You pulledyour phone out of your pocket and made a dreaded phone call.

“What’s up?”

You knew this wasn’tgoing to end well. You were supposed to be out getting dinner.

“Hey Dean,” you said intothe phone, “can you come pick me up?”

“Sure kiddo, where are you?”

Gritting your teeth, youspoke with your eyes closed. “426 Goldfield.”

There was a pause on theother end of the line.

“Please don’t tell me that’s the Doney house.”

“It’s not,” you fibbed.

“Don’t you lie to me.”

Silence. You decided againstdigging yourself an even deeper hole and answered hesitantly, “it may be.”

“Damn it Y/N! I told you not to go by yourself!”

You winced slightly,holding the phone a couple inches away from your ear as he shouted.

“You’re sixteen years old, for crying out loud! Whatwere you thinking?”

You decided not to answer.

“Are you hurt?” heasked with a sigh.

“No, no I’m fine. There’sjust cops outside, and I don’t have my badge, so I need you to bring it andcome get me,” you spoke quickly, hoping the fact that you weren’t injured wouldbe enough for Dean not to be too mad.

“I’ll be there in five. You are in so much trouble.”

So much for him not beingtoo mad. “Oh come on, Dean! I actually found something important!” you glancedat the file in your hands.

“I don’t care. I specifically told you not to go byyourself. You aren’t coming on the hunt tonight.”

You scoffed as the impalastarted up in the background. “You’re being ridiculous.”

“I said I’d be there in five. Stay put.”

The phone beeped,indicating the end of the call. You groaned and shoved your phone back intoyour pocket.

Sure enough, the impalarumbled up to the house five minutes later. Dean walked up the officers,flashing his badge. They lifted the caution tape and he ducked under, enteringthe house. You walked to the back door as Dean exited. He looked pissed. Youdropped your head and shuffled towards him. He grabbed your upper arm andpulled you back into the house.

“Do you have my badge?”you asked quietly. He didn’t answer.

“I knew I’d find you here!” Dean shouted, loud enough for the cops outside tohear. You glanced around with wide eyes.

“What the hell are youdoing?” you muttered as Dean tugged you out the front door.

“Hey what’s going onhere?” one of the officers asked, standing in front of Dean.

“I’ve been on this one’strail for a while now. This is federal business, nothing of your concern,” Deanstated and walked past the man. You caught on and pretended to fight against the grip on your arm. Dean opened the back door of the impala and practicallytossed you inside. He walked around to the driver’s side and slid in.

“Little harsh there, bigbro,” you mumbled as Dean drove off the property. He didn’t say anything until heparked at the motel.

“How long has it been since you actually slept?” Dean questioned. You scrunched your eyebrows and tiltedyour head slightly, confused with the randomness of your brother.

“Uh, what?”

“I’m just trying tofigure out if your dumbass behavior is because of sleep deprivation or flat-outinsanity. Because obviously,” he laughed sarcastically, “you had to be out of yourdamned mind to go to that house by yourself!”

You rolled your eyes athis exaggerated reasoning. “Whatever, Dean.”

“No, not whatever. Youcould’ve been seriously hurt!” he yelled as you slammed the car door behindyou.

“Well, I wasn’t! Andhere!” you slapped the file into his chest. You opened the door to the room andstormed inside. Sam, oblivious to the situation, looked up from his computer.

“Did you guys get dinner?”
