and what's even more wild to me is that it's not just some people, but seemingly most people

but then it's less wild to me when i consider that Mirage and 2k3 fandom content has been mostly swallowed by the sands of time and/or 2k12 & 2k18 fandom content

but then it's back to being even more wild to me, because Don has been confirmed to be older than Raph in the source material and you'd think that their birth order and subsequent team dynamics would be maintained throughout the adaptations if nothing else

but then i remember that rottmnt exists and nothing is sacred and that's wildest of all

could that then mean that optimus and megatron's tarritories are autobot and decepticon territories with them protecting all of their faction within

I thought about that, yeah!

Because in the area (from what i can see) the mecha with the biggest territories are Optimus and Megatron, with there being waters that aren't either of theirs sure but they've got the biggest ranges.

I hadn't really considered faction into any of this, because i mean they're not in a war they're mers so it's more like this tangled web of individual dynamics.

Such as Megatron getting along well with Soundwave who lives at the buttfuck bottom of the sea 87% of the time, Ratchet getting along well with Optimus and probably primarily sticking away from Megatron's territory because those two have beef, Optimus and Megs maintaining separate territories but getting along rather well😏, Starscream and Megatron having known each other for quite a long time now but not having the same connection as megop, i think? I mentioned the pod of dolphinmers that are the autobot younglings that follow around Ratchet often times?

smth that's good to remember about dark is that he's doomed. he'll never get what he wants. he can never get what he wants. he's allowed to 'dream' (to desire) but not to 'wish' (to attempt to fulfill those desires.) the other thing that's good to remember is that he's already redeemed. dark will never be able to have his own body or to love who he wants to love. he'll never have the true freedom and individuality that he craves above almost all else. he, as he is, can never be or become a proper human being- as a live artwork, he too is just a 'thing,' a hollow vessel for human emotions. alone and by himself, he's unfeeling and inanimate, no matter how otherwise convincing, no matter how beautiful. all of his 'feelings' are like single droplets in a dry well that evaporate in an instant. dark has no true heart, because he's an artwork. he has no humanity, no great amount of emotion alone that he himself can muster up or express. if he has anything inside of him then it's that very nothingness; an empty cathedral made up of restless, dissatisfied desire; a somber, passive longing to juxtapose krad's obsessive behavior. it's thus only with a tamer, or daisuke, that dark truly becomes someone. more than just a ghost, a phantom beneath the floorboards. the point is, despite daisuke's own terror of those around him rejecting him as worthless and unnecessary in comparison to dark, dark will always need daisuke. not just want, but quite literally need; 'to dark, i am a necessity.' dark doesn't admit it and very likely never will but he's already saved and endlessly comforted by daisuke's presence. there's the part of him that rejects others' comforts and attempts to reach out because of his own understandings over himself (he's doomed, he's already used to being avoidant and subtly excising himself,) but also the part that decides he just doesn't need any of it because he always has daisuke with him --- he's redeemed. he has someone to rely on and to always trust and to be proud of as his 'other self.' dark will never say it (both out of pride and guilt) but he'll always, always admire daisuke for the strength of the boy's emotions and the stubborn goodness of his heart.

the way that randos seem to have learned a tiny bit more about autistic people and are using this newfound power to give their ableism more range, like [inspiring: this gender-respecting bully will only give victims swirlies in bathroom that aligns with their identity] and [guy who researches your identity so that his microaggressions are more accurate] like oh radical that now you're throwing around the word "autistic" more comfortably as meaning shit like someone's "clueless" or "has an interest or perhaps talent" or what nonsense will follow when someone's breaking out the term "social skills" like oh nice, people accessing all the abilities of Autism Parents without having to be a parent

god the more i think about the comics vs the show the more i want to rip into it with my teeth (in a good way, to analyse it all). show!morpheus is so much more capable of change than comics!morpheus; he tries, at least, or is willing to try, in a manner much more obvious than comics!morpheus' more subtle attempts (which are more like implications, like thoughts, rather than actions). i'm interested to see where the show takes it and what changes are made along the way.

i don’t have a new chapter for you guys, but i do feel the need to explain my absence for the past month and a half. kind of. my absence in terms of fic was because i got very stressed, and if i’ve learned one thing in the past few years it’s that i can’t write when i’m stressed. but my absence from tumblr in general was because tumblr straight up deleted my account, while i was actively using it? i got it back, obviously, and the email i got from staff just said there’d been a glitch on their end, so who knows what’s up with that. but i’m back on tumblr, i have a job, and i’m moving literally tomorrow, so with any luck my stress will abate soon and i’ll be able to pick up where i left off!
