Touchstarved Romance Themes (Musical Version)
I like musicals, so I paired each Touchstarved LI x MC pairing with songs from musicals! These will probably be inaccurate since I'm going off of vibes from the demo. If you guys have other musical songs that you think would fit, please feel free to reblog or comment (I always like to find new musical songs!).
Kuras x MC
“All I’ve Ever Known” (Hadestown) — I associate Kuras with sunlight and devotion, and this song has both. There are a lot of lyrics that remind me of his path in the demo.
"I was alone so long I didn't even know that I was lonely. Out in the cold so long, I didn't even know that I was cold."
"You take me in your arms And suddenly there's sunlight all around me Everything bright and warm And shining like it never did before And for a moment I forget Just how dark and cold it gets."
"I don't know how or why Who am I that I should get to hold you?"
"Suddenly the sunlight, bright and warm Suddenly I'm holding the world in my arms."
“No Good Deed” (Wicked) — Can you imagine Kuras healing us to this?
"Let their flesh not be torn Let their blood leave no stain Though they're beaten, Let them feel no pain. Let their bones never break And however they try to destroy them, Let them never die."
"My road of good intentions Led where such roads always lead No good deed Goes unpunished."
“The Hill” (Once) — I think it would be interesting if, as a foil to Vere, one of his flaws is that he doesn't actually see us as a person? MC is either a path to redemption or another tragedy.
"But where are you my angel now? Don't you see me crying?"
"I'm on my knees in front of him But he doesn't seem to see me. With all his troubles on his mind, He's looking right through me."
Leander x MC (sidenote, there are so many musical songs that fit this guy why is he so musical-coded, also why are so many musical songs terrifying when you imagine it with Leander? XD)
“All I Ask of You” (Phantom of the Opera) — To be fair, I guess this song is also still unsettling in its actual context, too, if you know the story. XD
"Let me be your shelter, Let me be your light. You're safe, no one will find you, Your fears are far behind you."
“Something Wonderful” (The King and I) — From MC's perspective, Leander being toxic af.
"The thoughtless things he'll do Will hurt and worry you Then all at once he'll do Something wonderful."
"He has a thousand dreams That won't come true You know that he believes in them And that's enough for you."
“Only Us” (Dear Evan Hansen) — This is the sweet song that is mildly concerning when you pair it with him.
"What if it's you And what if it's me And what if that's all that we need it to be And the rest of the world falls away?"
"I never thought there'd be someone like you who would want me. So I give you ten thousand reasons to not let me go."
"We can just watch the whole world disappear. 'Til you're the only one I still know how to see. It's just you and me."
“Our Love is God” (Heathers) — The Heathers songs are here because I cannot listen to these without imagining Leander anymore.
"They died because God said they must The new world needed room For me and you."
"I worship you. I'd trade my life for yours They all will disappear. We'll plant our garden here. Our love is God."
“Meant to Be Yours” (Heathers) — Leander outside the room he gave us.
"Those assholes are the key! They're keeping you away from me! They made you blind, messed up your mind But I can set you free!"
"You were meant to be mine. I am all that you need. You carved open my heart, Can't just leave me to bleed!"
Vere x MC
“Natasha & Anatole” (Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812) — This song is unsettling but there are so many lyrics that remind me of Vere. And I guess the unsettling vibe suits him well, it does feel like he's putting you in a trance before he devours you.
"And I never remove my smiling eyes From your face, your neck, your bare arms."
"And looking into his eyes, I am frightened There's not that barrier of modesty I've always felt with men I feel so terribly near I fear that he may seize me from behind And kiss me on the neck."
"Look straight into my eyes Nearness Tenderness Smile at me Gaze straight into my eyes There is no barrier between us There is nothing between us."
“Take Me or Leave Me” (Rent) — A more lighthearted song, and I think it suits his unapologetic attitude.
"Take me for what I am Who I was meant to be."
"A tiger in a cage Can never see the sun This diva needs her stage baby, let's have fun!"
"You are the one I choose Folks would kill to fill your shoes You love the limelight too now baby So be mine, And don’t waste my time."
Ais x MC
“You Matter to Me” (Waitress) — This song feels very straightforward and true and quietly comforting, like companionable silence. So it feels a bit like Ais's path in the demo.
"Come out of hiding, I'm right here beside you And I'll stay there as long as you let me."
"You matter to me, Simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody."
“Sunrise” (In the Heights) — Since one of his likes is learning new languages, I thought this would be a cute song with him and an MC who knows another language teaching him a few words. The lyric "promise me you'll stay" makes me think of the end of the demo where Ais asks MC not to choose the Seaspring so quickly.
"Calor. Heat. Anoche. Last night. Dolor. Pain."
"Promise me you'll stay beyond the sunrise I don't care at all what people say beyond the sunrise."
Mhin x MC
“Falling Slowly” (Once) — It seems to have a lot of yearning and a bittersweet ending, which I got from their demo path.
"I don't know you, but I want you All the more for that."
"Falling slowly, eyes that know me And I can't go back And moods that take me and erase me And I'm painted black."
"You have suffered enough And warred with yourself It's time that you won."
“What You Mean to Me” (Finding Neverland) — To be honest, I put this here mostly because they like stargazing. But I think it does fit Mhin when they don't have the words to express their feelings.
"I won't lie I'm a little bit frightened."
"Every star that's ever fallen Knows the way to where we're going Now I really know just what you mean to me."
Elyon x MC
"Epic III" (Hadestown) — I'm basing this off of the short description of him searching for the one thing money can't buy.
"What has become of the heart of that man Now that he has everything? The more he has, the more he holds The greater the weight of the world on his shoulders."
"He's grown so afraid that he'll lose what he owns But what he doesn't know is that what he's defending Is already gone."
Sen x MC
"The Next Ten Minutes" (The Last Five Years) — I feel like her ultimate goal being her own death adds another layer to this song, making it less about a proposal and more about treasuring the time you have together.
"Will you share your life with me For the next ten minutes? For the next ten minutes, We can handle that. We could watch the waves, We could watch the sky, Or just sit and wait As the time ticks by, And if we make it 'til then, Could I ask you again For another ten?"
"There are so many dreams I need to see with you. There are so many years I need to be with you."
*******Bonus********** I'm sorry
Ocudeus x MC
“Hey, Little Songbird” (Hadestown) — Okay. So, in all honesty, I think this could fit Elyon, too, but I thought this was funnier. Also Ocudeus using bird nicknames because Ais does that, like a petty eldritch horror. XD So. Ocudeus trying to convince MC to drink from the Seaspring.
"You'd shine like a diamond down in the mine. And the choice is yours, if you're willing to choose, Seeing as you've got nothing to lose, And I could use a canary."
"Strange is the call of this stranger I wanna fly down and feed at its hand. I want a nice soft place to land. I want to lie down forever."

Hey, were you the one who posted how Maglor himself thought the oath and kinslayings were such evil acts? If so, how come there are those who still believe the second and third kinslaying is justified when Maglor himself thought it to be such an evil deed? I really need like a solid reasoning cause I was talking to someone who still believes the kinslayings were justified/needed and doesn't take my "murder is wrong" thing as a reason lol
That was indeed my post! If we're thinking of the same one. I've definitely made a post like that.
I mean I don't really know what to say besides "murder is wrong" lol If we can't agree on that um. I don't really know where we go.
The argument in favor of the kinslayings that I've seen usually boils down to property rights. Because the Silmarils are the rightful (and that's honestly debatable) property of the Feanorians, anyone who keeps the Silmarils from them deserves what they get, basically.
Which is. Kind of bonkers as a moral philosophy, even if you DO buy that the Feanorians have an uncontested right to the Silmarils. #1: We're punishing theft or conversion with DEATH now? That's acceptable to us? #2: The harm the Feanorians caused went far beyond the individual who possessed the Silmaril (Dior in the Second Kinslaying and Elwing in the Third). Even if Dior had taken that Silmaril right out of Maedhros' hand and spit in his eye on the way out it wouldn't justify the wholesale slaughter of an entire kingdom. They literally murdered children over things. Items. Stuff. Magical cool stuff yeah--but they valued it over lives. Does anyone honestly think Tolkien would have written a story agreeing with that as a moral view?
"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." (Thorin's final words, The Hobbit)
I don't know how you look at Maedhros and Maglor--the ONLY two of SEVEN sons to survive through the Third Kinslaying--and think THEY think they did the right thing. Five of their brothers have now died in assaults on other Elves which they began. Maglor argues for breaking the oath there, he resists Maedhros' drive to the Fourth Kinslaying (until he doesn't), and at the end of it all, he throws his precious Silmaril into the sea. Maedhros kills himself over it. These are not the actions of people who feel GOOD about where their lives have gone and the actions they've taken. Tolkien is so blatantly obvious about the Feanorians being in the wrong it's always a little wild to me that the KINSLAYINGS get defended.
On the note of the Fourth Kinslaying, let's not forget that: That after everything, after the War of Wrath is over and everyone is ready to go home and see their families and be at peace, a whole group of Elves get murdered by Maglor and Maedhros again over the Silmarils. A group--Eonwe's guard--of people who had survived a war with MORGOTH die because Maedhros and Maglor weren't willing to break their oath.
An oath which Tolkien casts as wicked from the very start--something that was always likely to bring them to evil acts.
"Then Feanor swore a terrible oath. His seven sons leapt straightway to his side and took the selfsame vow together, and red as blood shone their drawn swords...and many quailed to hear the dread words." ("Of the Flight of the Noldor," The Silmarillion)
Furthermore, as Dior points out in some versions outside Silm proper, at the time the Second Kinslaying is committed, Melkor still has two of the Silmarils. Even if Dior had handed over Luthien's Silmaril--to the people who had kidnapped and attempted to forcibly marry and presumably rape his mom; and also tried to murder her and his father later on--the oath is still not fulfilled, because Melkor has two.
The fact that the Feanorians choose to pursue Luthien's Silmaril with violence and bloodshed rather than make a go at the two that Melkor has has always revealed their hypocrisy to me. They chose Luthien's Silmaril because they knew it would be easier to get than the ones that Melkor has. Easier to kill other Elves if they don't give you what you want, than to attack or infiltrate Angband. Even now, when they know it's possible--because Beren and Luthien did it, and they had FAR fewer resources at hand than the Feanorians (and for the record, Fingon also successfully infiltrated Angband; Gwindor and others have successfully escaped from Angband)--they choose to slay other Elves instead. Say again the Second Kinslaying was "necessary"?
This is how Tolkien describes the attack on the Havens:
"And so there came to pass the last and cruelest of the slayings of Elf by Elf; and that was the third of the great wrongs achieved by the accursed oath. For the sons of Feanor that yet lived came down suddenly upon the exiles of Gondolin and the remnant of Doriath, and destroyed them." ("Of the Voyage of Earendil," The Silmarillion)
Does this description sound like people taking justified action? And let's not forget, in this battle, the Feanorians' own troops are so horrified by their actions that they turn against them.
"In that battle some of their [the Feanorians'] people stood aside, and some few rebelled and were slain upon the other part aiding Elwing against their own lords...Too late the ships of Cirdan and Gil-galad the High King came hasting to the aid of the Elves of Sirion; and Elwing was gone, and her sons." ("Of the Voyage of Earendil," The Silmarillion)
Members of the Feanorians' own people find their actions so terrible they cannot simply join those who stand by and refuse to attack the Havens, but they actively join the fight on the side of the Havens. Moreover, the heroic Gil-galad arrives intending to stop the Feanorians and aid the Havens. Sure, he arrives too late--but his intent is made clear: the Feanorians are the villains here, who need to be stopped.
And I don't think it is uncontested that the Silmarils belong to the Feanorians. For one, they were created entirely and only by Feanor; none of his sons had anything to do with it. And for two, the universe itself has deemed by the end that the Feanorians no longer have a property right in them, when the Silmarils burn the hands of Maedhros and Maglor because of all the evil they've committed. The jewels themselves will not be touched by these people who have done so much wrong. Eonwe tries to warn them about this before they even commit the Fourth Kinslaying.
"And they [Maedhros and Maglor] sent a message therefore to Eonwe, bidding him yield up those jewels...But Eonwe answered that the right to the work of their father, which the sons of Feanor had formerly possessed, had now perished, because of their many and merciless deeds, being blinded by their oath, and most of all because of their slaying of Dior and the assault upon the Havens." ("Of the Voyage of Earendil," The Silmarillion [emphasis added])
Like...I don't know how the book could be more clear that the Kinslayings were wrong and that Maedhros and Maglor were in the wrong.
I think fans are so invested in the Feanorians they're willing to bend over backwards to find some view where they didn't actually commit horrific war crimes and were in fact in the right. But that's just not the story Tolkien wrote. Also, you can like them and still admit they did horrible things. You are allowed to like characters who are in the wrong!

Alfons Sylvatica
Story Event: Wicked love blooming in the dark night (part two)
Chapter 1
It's a semi rough, semi quick translation. I'll add disclaimers and warnings and edit the post later.
~~Part 1~~
(One month as a fairy-tale writer, huh. I'm feeling discouraged even before starting...)
I was walking down the corridor with a gloomy feeling, pondering on Victor's words.
*flashback starts*
Victor: "It's the fairy-tale writer's job to record their deeds. In order to do that, you have to deepen your understanding."
Victor: "Therefore, miss Kate, as your first task I want you to spend a day with one of them."
Tumblr media
Victor: "...let's go a step further and make it a pretend lovers scenario! Yes, this is a brilliant idea!"
*flashback ends*
(How can I act as a lover of someone I just met... Not brilliant at all!)
The night I met them, I saw a pool of blood... and wanted to run away.
(What if I were to see such a sight again...?)
Alfons: "My my, you're white as a sheet. You look like you saw a ghost."
Kate: "Alfons..."
Tumblr media
When I raised my head I saw Alfons looking at me from the landing.
There was a hint of insincerity in his otherwise gentlemanly demeanor.
This was Alfons in a nutshell.
Alfons: "I hear you were entrusted with a difficult task."
(They don't trust me here and think I want to escape... I need to work hard to prove that's not the case.)
Kate: "Y-yes, that's right. I never imagined doing such work and feel out of my depth."
I climbed the stairs with an awkward smile.
As I approached him a sweet, decadent scent wafted in my direction.
Alfons: "Truly, Victor can say such outrageous things..."
Speaking in exasperated tone Alfons removed his leather glove and gently touched the nape of my neck.
Tumblr media
Alfons: "...since you already have a lover."
(Huh..?)
Alfons: "We swore love to each other, you and I."
~~Part 2~~
Alfons: "We swore love to each other, you and I."
(W-what?)
(...oh, come to think of it Alfons and I are lovers)
Kate: "I'm sorry, somehow I didn't think..."
Alfons: "You're so forgetful, aren't you?"
He shrugged and gently wrapped a strand of my hair around his fingers.
Alfons: "That's part of your charm, Kate."
Tumblr media
Alfons: "Now, how shall we spend our delightful day together?"
(Delightful day?)
His words and gestures left me feeling restless.
Kate: "My today's task is to deepen the understanding so... I want to learn more about you."
Alfons: "Doing my job whilst being watched by my lover... that's pretty daunting, don't you think?"
Alfons: "Still, I understand. Well then..."
Kate: "huh..."
I felt a soft touch of his lips on mine as the back of my neck was gently pulled forward.
Tumblr media
Alfons: "...let's educate my cute lover."
~~Part3~~
The bar Alfons brought me to was already overflowing with people.
Kate: "Do you frequent such venues so early in the day..?"
Alfons: "Mhm, many fine gentlemen do so....is it surprising?"
Kate: "It's surprising when it comes to nobles in general but... it makes sense when it's you."
Tumblr media
Alfons: "Heh, should I treat it as a compliment?"
Alfons: "It doesn't matter whether it's a fancy establishment, a corner pub or an opium den in a slum. They're all the same."
Alfons: "Past their façade, they all overflow with basic desires."
When we sat at the bar, a young male employee called out to Alfons.
Young employee: "Is this your today's partner? Being a lady killer in high demand must be nice, Al."
(Today's? lady killer..?)
Alfons: "It is indeed. Isn't she cute? Would you like to join?"
Kate: "Huh? A-Alfons?"
(What do you mean by that?)
Young employee: "Haha, you haven't lost your innocence yet, my lady."
Alfons: "Heh, such a shame. Let's give her a bit more time. I'll see to it myself."
Young employee: "Do that. Would you like to order anything, Al?"
Alfons: "The usual. Same for her."
The young man served the drinks, then moved to a new customer.
(...my head was spinning with thoughts)
Feeling uneasy, I took a sip of White Lady.
Alfons: "A-ha! What's with that face?"
Alfons: "Did it bother you that much I asked him out? It was a joke, of course, a joke... Heh."
Kate: "Is that so.."
I stared at his enigmatic smile.
Kate: "I've just been told that I'm your partner for today and that you're a lady killer, so... aren't you just playing around?"
Alfons: "Oh dear, you're being jealous. Your sour expression speaks volumes."
He gave me a mischievous smile and pressed his index finger to my lips.
Tumblr media
Alfons: "Having such a cute lover like you...how could I be unfaithful?"
~~Part 4~~
Alfons: "Having such a cute lover like you...how could I be unfaithful?"
His fingertip gently traced my lower lip, then moved away.
The intensity of his gaze caused me to involuntarily turn my head away in embarrassment.
(If I behave like this, he will think I'm just an inexperienced kid.)
Kate: "...if that's the case then I'm fine."
Alfons: "I'm glad to hear it."
He smiled and brought White Lady to his lips.
Alfons: "Do you like liquor?"
Kate: "... in moderation. What about you?"
Tumblr media
Alfons: "I love it. I love anything that people cling to to forget reality."
Alfons: "Liquor, gambling, love, pleasure."
(I fell in love with an outrageous person)
Still, my heart was throbbing whenever I glanced at his profile, full of decadent sex appeal.
(Hmm...why did we become lovers...?)
Just as the question suddenly popped into my head, Alfons put down his glass.
Alfons: "Now that the alcohol dulled our senses just about right, let's do some work."
Kate: "Erm... you have work to do!? How can you drink knowing that, don't... ah."
(I'm drinking as well..!)
(Naturally he recommended it, but...)
Alfons: "Quite the opposite, working whilst drinking is great, don't you think Kate?"
Alfons: "Give your diligent lover a kiss of encouragement, if you be so kind."
~~Part5~~
Alfons: "Give your diligent lover a kiss of encouragement, if you be so kind."
The hand at the back of my neck gently drew me forward.
His gestures and eyes were so enticing it was easy to read more into it than I probably should.
(I have to resist being swayed by him)
Kate: "...It'll make me drunk, so no."
Alfons: "Ah, you're so uptight."
Alfons: "Though I like this part of you as well, Kate."
~~~
(Our destination is an almshouse in the slum area.)
Alfons' task brought us to a facility that helps the poor to find accommodation and employment.
(I wonder what kind of task that is)
Gradually, the anxiety I felt this morning resurfaced.
Alfons: "Kate"
His hand touched my chin and drew my face closer.
Tumblr media
Alfons: "Don't look so worried. Today's mission is strictly to gather information."
Kate: "Really... then why you?"
Alfons: "Because my ability is perfect for infiltration and espionage."
Alfons: "I can create illusions for a short period of time. If I whisper with certain 'intent'."
(Illusions... the power to show things that aren't real. That's amazing.)
Kate: "With such ability... what are you going to investigate today?"
Alfons: "Dead bodies are being sold for autopsies here, which in itself is not illegal."
Tumblr media
Alfons: "My task is to determine whether the operation is sound."
Kate: "...investigating a corpse trade, huh?"
Alfons: "It's just having a chat and looking around a bit. Won't take long."
Alfons: "I'm a son of an anatomist involved in the trade and you're my lover. Make sure you play along."
Alfons: "Well then, let's start our visit."
If there is one thing that Harry hates about Halloween, it’s what a spectacle everyone suddenly makes around him.
Sure, he loves his friends, but he really wishes that this one, singular day of the year they could all just be chill. It’s as if for 364 days they forget what his profession is entirely, and then all remember at the same moment on the morning of October 31st. Oh yeah! I have a friend who is a witch! I should reconnect with him on this particular day, I’m sure he’s not already got plans of any kind!
Well not this year. This year he's going to the library. 🎃 Lips So Good, I forget My Name (3k) by callmemal On Halloween night, Harry and Louis try something new. Reason #10 - Curiosity
Niall grins deviously and hits “make call”, putting his phone on speaker. They lean in close to peer down at the screen, heads knocking lightly together. Dull rings reverberate quietly around the room and mix with the monotonous buzz of the lights. It rings for a while - maybe six or seven times - then the other line picks up.
There’s a slow, steady inhale, and a low voice purrs, “Hi, sexy.”
Jesus - this guy has barely said two words, and both of them have made Harry's cock twitch in his jeans. That’s not even getting to what those words are, and why he’s saying them, and how Harry’s stomach is dropping into his shoes at the mere thought of him saying... other words. Words like “cock”, and “please”, and “come”.
Also known as: a university AU featuring phone sex operator Louis, copious amounts of sweet, soft kink discovery, and Louis being Harry's Daddy.
🎃 Bewitched (28.5k) *need an ao3 account* // Snowy38
"I've got Louis."
He didn't mean it to come out that menacing but the naturally deep lilt of his voice wasn't helping. The female on the other end of the phone gave a hysterical squeal.
"Please! Don't hurt him!"
Harry frowned, lip protruding sullenly in mild offence.
"I'm not-I'm not going to hurt him," he argued.
"What do you want?" The woman cried, voice wobbling with emotion.
Harry frowned.
"I want Louis," he answered because wasn't that much already obvious? Maybe Louis' family were just really thick.
🎃 Baby, What a Big Surprise (33k) by kiwikero
As Harry settles into his seat, self-consciously adjusting his shirt over his slightly distended stomach, he can’t help but wonder how he got himself into all this. But he knows, of course he knows. It isn’t exactly easy to forget the moment that changed his entire life forever.
It all started with a party.
Or, the one where shy, quiet Harry has no idea he's a carrier, and a one night stand with the most popular boy in school shows him just how wrong he was.
Featuring Lottie as Harry's best friend, Niall as her boyfriend, and, of course, Louis as the popular boy with a soft spot for his little sister's quirky friend.
🎃 knock knock, i love you (86k) by beautlouis
“Well,” Louis says, searching for something to relieve this tension. “I think if a bloke gets kicked out of his stats exam for a knock knock joke, he deserves to hear the punchline, yeah?”
“Oh!” Harry says, beaming. “I forgot where we left off, what was it again?” He looks overjoyed to be exchanging a shit joke.
“Ah, you said knock knock, then I said who’s there, and then you said Noah,” Louis supplies helpfully. He hates that he's actually curious about the rest of the joke. “So, Noah who?”
“Oh,” says Harry, in a much different tone, dragging out the syllable. He looks bashful now. Louis cannot keep up with this boy, it's going to kill him. “Right, well.” He shuffles his feet. Fuck, what kind of knock knock joke gets a boy nervous? “Noah a good place we could get something to eat?”
[Harry and Louis get kicked out of a statistics exam for passing a knock knock joke note, and subsequently fall in love. Harry's a virgin, there's a cat, a hot cocoa date, a lot of sex, even more knock knock jokes, and everything is lovely and happy.]
as always, please read the tags and remember to leave kudos and a nice comment for the author!  if you have any requests, feel free to ask please, I'd love to help in any way! any recommendations you may have are also welcomed! <3
SPIRITUAL VICTORY BEHIND ENEMY LINES
Ephesians 6:12 -- "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
     The reality is that we're in battle.  We're being prevailed against.  Some of us are "losing" in the fight against sin and sickness, disease and death.  Some of us are losing the battle for our kids to know Jesus.  Some of us are battling for our marriages. Some of us are battling against poverty, and the very things that hinder the fulfillment of the prophetic word in our lives.  War wages for the fulfillment of our very divine DESTINIES.
LACK OF KNOWLEDGE
Hosea 4:6 -- "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:  because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me:  seeing thou has forgotten the law of God, I will also forget thy children."
          This infers that if God's people had knowledge of who they really are in Christ, of who God is, and of the rights and privileges of their DOMINION -- they wouldn't be destroyed.
     As soon as we become blood-bought believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we're thrust behind enemy lines, though assured of God's protection.  However, we're also reminded that we operate in an environment of spiritual terrorism.
".....We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one" (1 John 5:19).
SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY
John 15:7 -- "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."
         Jesus walked in union with His Father.  We too must do the same with Him.  We only have true SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY to the degree that we are abiding in Him.  The angels do not respect us and the demons do not obey us because of who we are, but because of who is in us.
         The Bible says that the birds of the air come to snatch away the Word of God (Luke 8:5-15).  The birds of the air are the demons that snatch away the Word from a man's heart, but only because a man leaves it out there unprotected.  The devil cannot take away the word from our hearts if we hold it close and protect it through:
         Affirming It Out Loud
         Meditating on It,
         And visualizing it coming to pass in our lives.
THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY
Psalm 78:9-11 -- "The sons of Ephraim were archers equipped with bows, yet they turned back in the day of battle.  They did not keep the covenant of God and refused to walk in His law;  they forgot His deeds and His miracles that He had shown them."
          The apostle John wrote, "They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death." (Rev. 12:11).
         The elements of victory are recounted to us in this passage.  They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb:  This means we no longer are fighting FOR victory but we fight FROM victory.  Triumph  is assured when we enter the battle.
ACTING VIOLENTLY ON THE WORD
Matthew 11:12 -- "Violent men take the Kingdom by force."
          It is to be understood that our battles are to be the manifestations of His victory.  The ultimate challenge is not the battle itself but the decision to participate.  Notice that the "armor of God" in Ephesians Chapter 6 has no protection for your back.  We are ill-equipped for retreat.
         The shield of faith is our truth and our buckler.  It's the truth of the Word of God, and it's given to every believer to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one (Eph. 6:16).  But it has to be used.  We are to be doers of God's Word.  When we act, the shield moves when we do, even if we don't feel it.
We don't have the Sword of the Spirit until the Word has been made real to our spirit.
We don't have the Shield of Faith until we walk in that faith of our Christ identity.
We don't  have the Shoes of Peace until we get into the presence of God.
We don't have the Helmet of Salvation until we have a revelation of Christ's finished work on the cross.
We don't have the Breastplate of Righteousness until we start thinking like God thinks.
We don't have the Belt of Truth until the Holy Spirit leads us into the truth of the fullness of the reality of God.
WE ARE HIS AUTHORITY
Matthew 6:10  -- "Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
         God's world collides with the world of darkness, and His world always wins.  Our battle is always a battle for DOMINION -- a conflict of kingdoms.
        God has chosen to work through us.  WE ARE HIS DELEGATED AUTHORITY on planet earth, and prayer is the vehicle that gives occasion for His invasion.  Those who don't pray allow darkness to continue ruling.  The enemy's greatest efforts at deceiving the Church are centered on diluting the purpose and effect of prayer.
it wasn't like raquel was expecting for romie to tackle her and pin her to the ground — though she certainly wouldn't have minded. it seemed obvious, locking the door to the dean's office and keeping the key to herself, effectively cutting off the one clear escape route. she wasn't going to be jumping from the window or climbing through an air duct any time soon, so that put them at a stalemate. "i think you're forgetting something." she said in a sing-songy voice. "i mean, let's run through the hypothetical here, right? we both end up staying here until morning or until some security guard kicks the door down, who do you think gets out of that one unscathed? because, i don't even think i'd need to blame you. the way you talk about your life they'd probably pin it on you by default." it wasn't like raquel took particular pleasure in playing dirty, but she wasn't about to pretend her advantages in life didn't exist. she'd been lucky enough to be born to a father who provided for his daughters with every wicked deed he performed. "now, on the other hand, let's say you maim or murder me for it. well, i don't know how much faith i have in your ability to get out of that one either. so what's it gonna be, romie? secret option c?" now she was doing her own goading, stepping into her space just because she could. her heart raced with the adrenaline of the closeness, of the game between them, though it was more of a game for her than she supposed it was for the other girl.
Anyone who knows my taste in country music knows it doesn't include Toby Keith, and it hasn't included county radio since I was in middle school, but here are some sobering stuff I learned tonight while looking up things on the interwebs.
First, we all know "Try That In A Small Town" is some vague bullshit meant to make money but not actually be culpable for anything, right? And really, the song itself? Terrible. Jason Aldean hasn't had a Hot Country #1 in almost a decade (don't come at me with those "Country Airplay" numbers that just means the *checks notes* 150 country radio stations that Nielsen checks have been playing it, but he hasn't had an actual Hot Country, which includes streaming and other services, #1 since 2014), which honestly, shocked me. However, now I know why they were putting him on every award show to sing because he was close to the top but not actually there. Now look at him. Instant crossover #1. His first one. That video? This guy doesn't even write his songs, and he's not from a small town, so I think it's giving him too much credit that he knew anything about that courthouse or that it was his idea to put the protest videos in his video. Let him dig his hole and please, stop giving him attention. It just encourages the actual reactionary assholes out there to listen to it and push him. Do you remember what happened to The Chicks when they were canceled by people??? Because they weren't canceled for the 'Dixie' that is not there anymore. They were canceled for daring to speak up about George W. Bush in front of a country music-loving crowd. Nobody gets canceled for racism in country music.
Which brings me back to my original point...
Toby Keith. We all know that mindless "The Angry American" song (and possibly some of his other #1 hits, he has 20, and he wrote 18 of them, including "The Angry American.") I want you to forget whatever it makes you feel for a second because that is not the worst one. (Something something America, Land of the Free, whatever, worst thing he says is "...boot in your ass.") I need you to look at the lyrics for "Beer For My Horses," which has a deceiving title, unlike the other song, which tells you what it is straight up. "Beer For My Horses" is a duet with Willie Nelson that Keith co-wrote, and it was a Hot Country #1 for six weeks in 2003. It was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Song. Knowing that. LOOK AT THE DAMN LYRICS. Here's an excerpt:
Grandpappy told my pappy, back in my day, son A man had to answer for the wicked that he done Take all the rope in Texas find a tall oak tree Round up all them bad boys, hang them high in the street For all the people to see
That's pretty terrible. It's Willie's verse. It's the second one in the song. Here are more lyrics from the third verse:
We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds Too much corruption, and crime in the streets It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
This song got no critical pushback. No uproar. No removal from CMT. In fact, they made a movie based on the lyrics. I know because I've seen my own father watching the movie and immediately extricated myself from the room because I had no idea what I was witnessing. Willie's in the movie. Toby Keith stars. Came out 15 years ago. And I don't know if you were paying attention, but Willie won Country Album of the Year at the Grammys this year.
Oh, and by the way, you know how this Jason Aldean song has everyone talking about sundown towns? (If you don't and/or you don't know what they are, go look it up.) Anyway, check out the title of Tim McGraw's 13th studio album released in 2014. Actually, I'll do it for you. It's called "Sundown Heaven Town" and one of the singles was a song he did with his wife Faith Hill called "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" which is about Mama losing her house in the idyllic small town because the big city people are coming to knock it down.
Also, "Last Night" by Morgan Wallen is the first song I've heard from him and the first time I've even heard of him. I was forced to listen to it by my Spotify alarm. If you don't know why he's problematic, you can Google that hot mess, but hint: it's more racism.
Finally...
Darius Rucker has a new album coming out this year titled "Carolyn's Boy." He has the only country music I want to hear right now. (P.S. He wrote five of his six #1 Hot Country singles.) His current single is "Fires Don't Start Themselves," which, not shockingly, is a standard fair country love song and not anything outright or even vaguely speaking out against all the bullshit above this paragraph, even if the irony of the possible double meaning of the title is only potentially funny thing in this post.
Parzival - A fool becomes the Grail’s King III/III
Tumblr media
Wolfram von Eschenbach ‘Parzival and Titurel’ published and explained by Dr. Simrock in 1861, two volumes.
“When Lucifer sank into hell, man began. God formed Adam, the son of his hands, from the clay of the earth. From Adam's flesh he broke Even, from whom the adversity comes, who ignored the Creator and destroyed our salvation. From both came a second fruit: one's selfishness advised him to take his ancestor's virginity in blind passion. Here some people begin to ask, is this fairy tale presented to them, how could this be possible? It was only possible through sin." Parsifal replied: "Lord, I doubt whether that happened. Who gave birth to his father, whose ancestor lost her virginity, as you believe? You shouldn’t have mentioned it.” The innkeeper immediately replied: “I will take you out of this doubt. If I don't tell the truth, then deceit leads to complaint. The earth was Adam's mother: God formed him from earth; Yet the earth remained a maid. Now I haven't told you yet who took over her maid duties. Cain was fathered by Adam, who beat Abeln for nothing. When blood fell upon the pure earth, her servitude was fled: the son of Adam did this to her. Then human anger and envy arose; They continue from that time. There is nothing purer on earth than the virgin's cunning. Now see how pure the maidens are: God himself was the child of the virgin woman. Two people came from maidens: God himself took the form of the fruit of the first maiden: so he showed great mercy. Misfortune and joy came to us from Adam's seed. He wants to belong to us, his praises ring out from choirs of angels; But we must flourish from clan and sin so that we never escape sin. Mercy works and creates, who suffered injustice in the human image and faithfully fought against unfaithfulness. You should forget anger: you presumptuously forfeit salvation. You should repent of your sins and leave behind bold speech. Whoever wants to avenge his suffering with untamed speech, let your reward be known to you; his own mouth will judge him. Take to the new old tale that it may teach you faithfulness. That orator Plato already spoke in his time and Sibyl, the seer, with unerring sense predicted many a year that a great pledge would come to us for our guilt. God's hand and divine love took us from hell; She left the wicked inside. Good tidings came to us from the true Minner's mouth. He is a shining light and does not waver in his love. Whoever he is supposed to show love to will be happy with his love. The message announces two things: God's hatred and God's love are to be bought from all the world: which do you choose to win? The unrepentant sinner flees from divine faithfulness; But whoever atones for his guilt deserves the mercy of the Most High. No barrier stands in the way of the highest. Thought resists the gaze of the sun: thought is hidden without a lock, hidden from all creatures, thought is dark without appearance; But God’s clarity shines through. She shines through the dark wall, she comes running secretly in a leap that doesn't roar, that doesn't sound when it penetrates the heart. No matter how quick the thought may be, before it reaches the threshold of the heart, it is fully understood: God chooses those he finds worthy. Since God himself spies through thoughts, woe to him who commits sinful deed! Whoever forfeits his greeting with works, so that God must be ashamed, what good is worldly discipline? Where is his soul's refuge? If you oppose God, who is ready for both love and anger, then you are the lost one. Now turn your mind to kindness, that he may thank you.” [The hermit Trevrezent to Parzival]
Tumblr media
Eschenbach says that he found the legend of Parzival in an Arabic work. At Toledo a certain Kiot is said to have found a manuscript in Arabic which could be attributed to Flegantis. Flegantis, a pagan on his father's side and a Jew of Solomon's family on his mother's side, read the name of the Grail in the stars and that a group had left it on earth and handed it over to the care of the "baptized fruit". However, the actual nature of the Grail is not written down, just as only the Aventure of the Grail, not that of Parzival and also not of the guardians of the Grail: Titurel, Sigunen and Schionatulander, since Kiot would have looked for it in Latin books; Eschenbach probably appealed to Kiot to justify his version and to explain his deviation from Chrestien's famous predecessor (originality of invention was not one of the demands that that time placed on its poets)...
Tumblr media
Further origins of the Grail myth
Ferdinand Wolf: “The Grail myth was probably developed from Celtic-Druid elements in southern France by the followers of templeism, and the transfer of the Montsalvage to Spain was obvious enough and is probably just as important as Kiot's discovery to Toledo, the seat of black art , just a mystification, as, as is well known, Spain, the Orient, Greece and Hungary are the homelands of the wonderful and mystical in the geography of legends or only have the meaning of distant, unknown strangers."
In the Middle Ages, the Jewish tradition of the legend was adopted; Flegantis is the same as Zabulon in the Wartburg War; Eschenbach puts it in the mouth of the hermit Trevrezent: “Those angels who watched Lucifer's fight against the Trinity doing nothing would have to take care of the Grail,” but he retracts this and explains that he only stated it in order to derive Parzival from the Grail; See also: Wartburg Wars: “Sixty thousand angels who wanted to drive God out of heaven cast a crown for Lucifer. When the Archangel Michael broke this from Lucifer's head, a stone jumped out of it, and this stone is the Grail." See also: The Heliotrapezon - The sun table of the Ethiopians, which was already covered with meat and fish every night in the time of Herodotus - The ancient Egyptian Hermes Cup - That of Jamshid, Hercules and Bacchus of the Mysteries - The black stone in the Kaaba in Mecca, the one the gems of paradise, which are said to have fallen to earth at the same time as Adam - The Philosopher's Stone - German fairy tale “Little Table Set Yourself”
More than 20 pages of notes in German.. but due to limitation of letters, I will share a selection of my favourite chapter with the future father of Prester John, the (half-)brother of Parzival and the son of the Queen Belakane and Gahmuret.
XV. Feirefis P begegnet einem heidnischen Ritter, der mit fünfundzwanzig Heerscharen von verschiedenen Sprachen über das Meer gekommen war und in der Nähe geankert hatte „Parzival ritt balde vor einem großen Walde auf wüst gelichteten Wegen einem reichen Gast entgegen. Ein Wunder, wenn ich armer Mann den Reichtum euch vermelden kann, der der Heid an seiner Rüstung trug. Sag ich davon mehr als genug, doch muss ich mehr davon erzählen, will ich das Meiste nicht verhehlen.“ Reichtum wird verbildlicht mit Vergleichen etwa „Wie großen Zins Artusens Hand Bretagne zollt und Engelland, damit bezahlt‘ er nicht die Steine.“ Rubinen, Chalcedonen; Helmschmuck bildet ein Ecidemon ab und generell „schmuck zu schauen“ Eschenbach beschreibt den Kampf mit Sorge und viel toleranter Empathie, die innere Verbundenheit der beiden Brüder hervorhebend [Auszüge ab V738 ff]: - „Sie hatten Herz und Blut gemein; Sie sind sich kund, wie fremd sie sei’n! Nun kann ich diesen Heiden von dem Getauften nicht mehr scheiden.“ - „Man sah den Kampf so geraten, ich kann mirs nicht versagen, schmerzlich muss ich’s beklagen, dass ein Fleisch und ein Blut sich so viel zu Leide tut, die man als Geschwister kennt, lautrer Treue Fundament.“ [V70] - „(…) Wenn man als Zwei sie will betrachten, die doch für Eins nur sind zu achten. Ich und mein Bruder sind ein Leib wie guter Mann und gutes Weib.“ - „Die Arme schwangen sich mit Kunst, aus den Helmen lohte Brunst, von ihren Schwertern fuhr der Wind. Gott schütze Gahmuretens Kind! Der Wunsch gilt ihnen beiden, dem Getauften und dem Heiden: Denn ich rechne sie für Einen, sie würdens selber meinen, wären sie sich recht bekannt: Sie setzten nicht so viel zu Pfand, denn nicht minder gilt ihr Streit als Ehre, Freude, Seligkeit. Wer auch hier den Preis gewinnt, doch hat er, wenn er Treue minnt, die Freude dieser Welt verloren und dauernd Herzeleid erkoren.“ Beschreibung Schild des F aus Aspinde „Asbest, das weder fault noch brennt (…) Chrysoprass und Türkis, Smaragds und Rubin, und noch von anderen Farben schien.“ Der Buckel sei Anthrax, hier wohl als Karfunkel bekannt P und F kämpfen, bis Ps Schwert zerspringt, weshalb F, beeindruckt von P und aus Ehrgefühl, von seinem Pferd absteigt und P nach seiner Herkunft fragt; P verweigert Auskunft zu geben, weshalb F, auch weil er sich als Besiegter sah, seinen vollen Namen nennt, Anschewein hörend wird P wütend Wie sich dann beide Brüder erkennen: „Der reiche Feirefis begann: „Held, bei deiner Zucht, sag an, da dir ein Bruder leben soll, wie sieht der aus? Du weißt es wohl. Beschreibe mir sein Angesicht; Seine Farbe hehlte man dir nicht.“ Da sprach den Herzeleid gebar: „Wie beschrieben Pergament fürwahr, Schwarz und weiß dort und hier; Ekuba beschrieb es mir.“ „Der bin ich“, versetzte der Heide, nicht lange säumten sie da beide, Feirefis und Parzival, von Helm und Härsenier zumal entblößten sie sich gleich zur Stund, Parzival fand lieben Fund, den liebsten, den er jemals fand. Den Heiden hatt er bald erkannt: Sein Antlitz zeigte Elsternfarben. Hass und Groll im Kuss erstarben dem Getauften und dem Heiden. Freundschaft ziemt‘ auch besser Beiden denn ihnen stünde Hass und Neid. Treu und Liebe schied den Streit.“ [S. 327] F preist Juno, Jupiter und seinen gefunden Bruder P, P entgegnet, dass er gern besser sprechen würde, doch er leider nicht so weise wäre: „Doch bin ich leider nicht so weis, dass ich Eurer Würde preis mit Worten noch erhöhen könnte: Gott weiß, wie gern ichs euch vergönnte! Was Herz und Auge nur vermag, sie sprechen Euerm Preise nach (…)“ F will nicht länger von P gesiezt werden: „ ,,Nicht länger ihrzen sollt Ihr mich: Hatten wir doch einen Vater.“ Mit brüderlicher Treue bat er, dass er Ihrzens ihn erließe, von nun an Du ihn hieße. Die Rede war dem Waleis leid: Bruder, Eure Herrlichkeit vergliche der des Baruchs sich; Älter seid ihr auch als ich. Meine Jugend, meine Armut sei solcher Untugend frei, dass ich Du zu Euch spräche, und mich so der Zucht entbräche.“
LIGHT OF LIFE 377
John 1:4
UNDERSTANDING PROPHETIC MANDATES 11: SECRETS THINGS 11
Amo 3:7 CERTAINLY, THE ALMIGHTY LORD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS HE FIRST REVEALS HIS SECRET TO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS. GW
So, now beloved, if you are not living above sin, filled regularly with the Holy Ghost and crushing the devil’s deeds, you are not living fulfilled.
You must acknowledge the full benefit of what Christ did for us all.
Heb 2:11 JESUS, THE HOLY ONE, MAKES US HOLY. AND AS SONS AND DAUGHTERS, WE NOW BELONG TO HIS SAME FATHER, so he is not ashamed or embarrassed to introduce us as his brothers and sisters! TPT
Sadly, I hear too many arguments these days, from Muslims and pagans, about why God had to send His son to die for us if He is a loving God and could forgive us without the Blood Sacrifice.
I realize that satan has blinded many from seeing this truth, which are no more secrets, because he paid dearly for his own ignorance and wants as few person as possible to ever realize it too.
2Pe 1:8-9 If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful. BUT IF YOU DON'T GROW, YOU ARE LIKE SOMEONE WHO IS NEARSIGHTED OR BLIND, AND YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT YOUR PAST SINS ARE FORGIVEN. CEV
More shocking to me is the discovery that many Christians don’t know the answers to the questions we raised in the last 2 lessons.
I watched a tiktok video of a lady who became an atheist because she asked the questions, but nobody in Church could give her answers.
Wow! I even saw a debate on tv between a Muslim and Christian, who seemed confused by the question.
2Co 4:3-4 BUT IF OUR GOOD NEWS IS VEILED, IT IS VEILED FROM THOSE WHO ARE ON THE WAY TO DESTRUCTION: Because the god OF THIS WORLD HAS MADE BLIND THE MINDS OF THOSE who have not faith, SO THAT THE LIGHT OF THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GLORY OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, MIGHT NOT BE SHINING ON THEM. NET
This Gospel is not hidden anymore; whatever Jesus spoke in Parables back then, He stated clearly that it was only for a time, and the truth will soon be made known.
Mar 4:21-22 Jesus continued, "DOES ANYONE EVER BRING IN A LAMP AND PUT IT UNDER A BOWL OR UNDER THE BED? Isn't it put on the lampstand? WHATEVER IS HIDDEN AWAY WILL BE BROUGHT OUT INTO THE OPEN, AND WHATEVER IS COVERED UP WILL BE UNCOVERED. GNB
It is that simple beloved. Will God send His son to die for all men but keep that project secret to the same men?
That is senseless really.
Mat 10:26-27 Don't be afraid of anyone! Everything that is hidden will be found out, and every secret will be known. WHATEVER I SAY TO YOU IN THE DARK, YOU MUST TELL IN THE LIGHT. AND YOU MUST ANNOUNCE FROM THE HOUSETOPS WHATEVER I HAVE WHISPERED TO YOU. CEV
Only the devils have to be kept in the full dark. If any man is kept in the dark still by God, then he is an agent of darkness too.
Isa 60:2 FOR, BEHOLD, DARKNESS SHALL COVER THE EARTH, AND GROSS DARKNESS THE PEOPLES: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. RV
Psa 88:11-12 Shall Your loving-kindness be declared in the grave? Or Your faithfulness in ruin? SHALL YOUR WONDERS BE KNOWN IN THE DARK, AND YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE LAND OF FORGETFULNESS? MKJV
These are end times and these things must be revealed now, otherwise, they are useless to us.
Dan 12:9-10 He answered, "GO ON ABOUT YOUR LIFE DANIEL. THE MESSAGE IS HIDDEN. IT WILL BE A SECRET UNTIL THE TIME OF THE END. Many people will be made pure—they will make themselves clean. But evil people will continue to be evil. And THOSE WICKED PEOPLE WILL NOT UNDERSTAND THESE THINGS, BUT THE WISE PEOPLE WILL UNDERSTAND THEM. ERV
Meanwhile, we who have been made to understand, have the mandate to profoundly declare these truths in details to all and sundry, so that they may take caution and get serious.
1Ti 4:6 YOU ARE A GOOD SERVANT OF CHRIST JESUS WHEN YOU POINT THESE THINGS OUT TO OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS. Then you will be nourished by the words of the Christian faith and the excellent teachings which you have followed closely. GW
We must admit that if we don’t realize the CORE VALUE of this MYSTERY, by whose discovery we got a vibrant and superseding edge over satan, then the devils will yet bare rule over many in the fold and keep them blinded.
I Jn 2:8 Yet it is also NEW, Jesus lived in the truth of this commandment and you also are living it. FOR THE DARKNESS IS DISAPPEARING AND THE TRUE LIGHT IS ALREADY SHINING. NLT
May God flood our lives with the full Light of the Gospel and make us excel, IN JESUS NAME.
Join us on Wednesday, for progress in this enlightening and explosive Subtopic.
Keep Shinning!
OC Kiss Week Day 6: Dangerous
WIP: St. Guess Pairing: Mickey x Tod Timeline: Part of a significantly altered scene from the original iteration of St. Guess. Set in 1938. CW: Oh uh well for context Tod’s just gotten finished brutally beating a potential burglar to death with a [pipe? haven’t decided yet] and burying their body in the woods behind the museum where he works so. Um. Death. Violence (though the deed’s already done here)? Also, blood. Rating: M to be safe Words: 814
***
Mickey halted.
He'd assumed he imagined the dark streak on the white stone, the advantage being he'd only seen it within his periphery. Now, at the top of the steps, he had a perfect view of a stark smear of blood, obsidian in the shadow, trailing from the other set of doors into the bushes planted under the windows. It glittered at him, assisted by the streetlamps to make it as wicked as possible. He could smell it, too, upon further inspection; a sharp copper scent that faded with the light breeze.
Glancing down revealed that one of the buttons of his jacket cuff had come undone. He carefully popped it back into place, smoothing a crease in the muted plum fabric of his sleeve. With a meditative breath, he followed the trail down to the ground.
A bystander wouldn't have been able to tell that the blood continued around the perimeter of the building just by looking at the bushes. All Mickey could discern, on the other hand, were disheveled twigs and branches, the shoe prints depressed into the soil, tiny leaves littering the ground, and the unmistakable echoing sound of a shovel puncturing the ground the closer to the other side of the museum he traversed.
He entered the cluster of trees creating a gorgeous and chilling cloak of obscurity behind the museum, fully anticipating the low light originating from the grass to cast a warm glow on Tod's body as it accumulated more and more dirt over him. Relief flooded his lungs when he could finally see that Tod was doing the burying.
Mickey watched him dump a shovelful of dirt onto the makeshift grave. Sleeves rolled up to the elbow, hair he'd spent time pomading that morning now a picture of ruin, tie missing, a shock of blood spray on his shirt and undershirt, and a noticeable bend in his stance. Favoring the right side of his body. Wincing with every movement.
"Got a little carried away, did we?"
Tod startled, dropping the shovel and kicking away the flashlight so it illuminated the stretching trunk of a tree instead of the obvious mound in the ground. "What're you doing here, Mickey…?"
"I'd hate for you to forget to erase the most damning evidence of…whatever this is." Mickey gestured to the museum. "A heroic end to a villainous thief's career?"
"Fuck. Don't glorify this." Tod grunted as he stooped to pick up the shovel again. "I had to do what I had to do. I'm not proud of it."
"You had to kill them?"
Tod stuck the shovel into the grass and leaned on it for support. Sweat could be seen coating his forehead even in the lack of light. "I shot him in the leg and I couldn't risk being found out. My plan, my—I'm this close to shutting down the guys in New York. I'm so close, Baby."
Mickey meandered over to the flashlight and plucked it up, sticking it in a hole in the trunk so it created a spotlight on Tod. "You've yet to explain the plan, however."
"Let it fall into place," Tod hissed, clutching his side. "Not like you won't figure it out, anyway. Shit..."
Mickey stepped up to him. "He fought back."
"Yeah. Kicked real hard with his boot." Tod peered down at Mickey as he assessed the bruise over his security uniform. "I didn't want you to know about this."
Smiling warmly, Mickey snaked an arm around his waist. "Joey was right; you sure did have something pent-up within you, didn't you? There is…something to that, I think."
Tod made to protest but Mickey silenced him by curling a hand around the back of his neck and pressing a too-soft kiss into him. Mickey parted his lips and accepted Tod's probing tongue graciously, knowing he had successfully distracted Tod when his thick fingers found his hip and tugged him closer.
He allowed Tod to gather him into his arms and nip at his throat as he cast his eyes down to the grave behind them.
How cold it must have been in there. How dangerous his involvement had just become. And how unbelievably powerful he felt right now. A surprising reaction to a crime he wasn't sure he could picture any one of the boys committing. Though now that Mickey had seen it firsthand, and from Tod out of all of them…it opened up an entirely new level of respect to be demanded of the man who had Tod wrapped in a tight coil around his finger.
It would've been too much to handle had it not been the role he was born to play.
"Clean up the blood," Mickey breathed, pushing some space between them. "I'll make sure this grave is inconspicuous. Then we go home."
Tod's eyes passed over his face. The uncertainty remained, but the willpower did not. He nodded.
Love eachother,
As Jesus Christ loved you,
It's easy to say it for the form,
But difficult to apply it on few things;
When you love, don't expect to be loved,
Many use others
Some don't know the deeds that show love,
Others only know how to manipulate for their own satisfaction;
love attracts,
Love has reciprocity,
Love seeks the good,
Love forgets itself;
If in your heart you can sacrifice yourself for one person and hate others,
You don't love, and you don't know what love is;
If you calculate your interests because of a person's availability, you are wicked;
If you spend your time judging,
You are ignorant
If you live in jealousy because of complexes, there is no light in your heart, no matter what you think, you have no love in your whole being.
There are beautiful habits, like forgiving, seeking the good of others before our own, praying for others in all sincerity and simplicity, doing good around us when the opportunity arises.
We don't count the good we do,
One does not throw flowers at oneself over personal sacrifices for the happiness of others that one has had to make;
When one is true and sincere, true and honest people recognize it;
Fake people, on the other hand, arouse discord and hatred.
The wages of the wicked is shame, disarray and madness;
He who sows good reaps God's love for him in all areas of his life.
The heart is reserved for God, but a blackened heart will have no privilege;
We must love and sow the love we have received from God, so that those who suffer from a lack of love experience it in Jesus Christ.
God changes time and circumstances through Faith in Jesus Christ.
The Collector or Tess for the ask thing?
The Collector
favorite thing about them: She's so terrible. I love when villains are both good at what they do and absolutely horrible people while they're at it. But I also love that she's genuine about being terrible - she doesn't try to hide behind excuses, just knows her desired outcome of her plans and is willing to do what it takes to do so.
least favorite thing about them: Kidnapping Vash and killing the people of Vash en masse. I may enjoy her villainy but I don't have to like it
favorite line: "All dead things were once alive. Sometimes all they need is a reminder."
brOTP: Nobody??? I've yet to see her even have a henchman soooo...
OTP: Jolon 😍😍
nOTP: I mean... this would imply that people do ship her with enough people and I haven't seen that go around much outside a cracky context but... Vash? Maybe?
random headcanon: I headcanon that her name is actually kind of hilarious, and she was more than happy to forget it after touching Life's mind. I do have more ideas about how she set on her mission but honestly those are too meta to consider "headcanons" (plus it's been a while since I've thought of them
unpopular opinion: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
song i associate with them: No Good Deed from Wicked! Not sure that the lyrics line up with her much but it's got the same vibes as her aesthetic
favorite picture of them: [Source for full quality, ID in alt text]
Tess
favorite thing about them: She's so much fun, I love it. Very frank, dry sense of humour, doesn't beat around the bush about things.
least favorite thing about them: Nothing yet, mostly because we're still learning more about her!
favorite line: "I got it!" *Punches a dragon*
brOTP: Erin! Tess makes it really clear that he's basically found family, even if the circumstances behind it (cough cough Galen) weren't the best!
OTP: Nobody (yet), mostly because if I do have hypothetical ships in mind, they're not super at the front of my mind!
nOTP: Erin. They're siblings.
random headcanon: Tess loves to mess with Erin by generating static over her hand and making his hair stick up all over the place. Also, she somehow always keeps running into dragons.
unpopular opinion: Ehh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
song i associate with them: Holding Out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler, because Tess is That Hero <3
Pawn
He is like sea. Ever changing, thousand storms hidden beneath sleek waves. Vast, deep, deadly yet calm and soothing - when he wants to be. Kuwar Veer Pratap Singh is a sea, that Amrit suddenly finds herself stranded in the middle. His deceptive calmness hides a trench beneath, depth of which none has ever tested. She doesn't want to tread these waters, but the choice is between diving and drowning. Isn't that the choice of every life?
Amrit paces the length of her room. Door locked and lights dimmed. The foolishness of her actions makes her inwardly cringe, who was she fooling with this pretence of sleep when with each step her deceptively elegant chains chime.
"Chun Chun Chun" He had said. "As long as I keep hearing their ring, my worries will cease."
Chun Chun Chun
The anklets chime now, mocking her as if they were an extension of the wicked man who had them made. Those anklets could not be undone, she recalled realizing that with a sneering Veer over looking her. She'd rather cut them off her feet -
The sharp knock scatters her thought. Amrit stops just as the door rattles.
"I know you are not sleeping," Veer's voice filters through the door. He doesn't sound very pleased. Good, Amrit thinks savagely. Let him stay awake all night, listening to his favorite Chun Chun!
"Amrit!"
She has the urge to stomp her feet and irritate him further, but Amrit knows how to choose her battles. Veer has that unassuming wickedness of a naughty child, who'd do the most unexpected thing to get his way. Instead she goes and unlocks the door.
"What?" Tonight, she doesn't have the patience to entertain his tantrums. Amrit had pleaded a headache to get out of the dinner debacle, in fear that it would turn somewhat similar to the breakfast drama just that morning. She was annoyed, hungry and on the top of it bound in elaborate gold chains of the kuwar's choosing. At least she had to have the privilege to snap at someone.
Veer raised his brows, looking down at her from his impressive height.
"Dinner kar lo, humare saath," he says. "It's all been set up in the room, we are not expected down at the table with everyone."
She makes a move to walk past him which he prevents with a hand on the door frame. His eyes are burning when they return her gaze.
"Keep me waiting, next time I'll break open the door." He bites out menacing words against her ear as if they were a soft caress. Looking over his shoulder Amrit notices the servants bowing out of the room, the dinner arranged in a corner. Veer steps away as soon as they shut the door and mentally shaking her head at his antics, Amrit goes to the table set up for the two of them.
"Bina khaye sone wale logon ko, ab badi jaldi hai khane mein," Veer taunts from behind. "Stop!" He says sharply. Unwillingly, Amrit turns to look at him, wondering what new play he has thought up now? Was he going to taunt her with food next? Dangle a paratha in front of her like a carrot in front of a donkey? Veer shakes a finger at her in silent no no. With long strides he joins her at the table and pulls out the chair for her.
"Ladies wait for their accompanying gentleman to pull out their chair," he says offering her the seat with an elaborate gesture.
"Why? Woh kudh nahi kar sakthe?" She asks sarcastically.
Veer pinches the bridge of his nose before pointing an accusatory finger at her.
"Yahi yahi problem hai tum ladkiyon ki! When someone is doing a good deed, can't you just keep back and let him do it? No, you want to show your nari shakti instead!"
Amrit plops down on the chair and looks up at him expectantly.
"What is all this Kuwar sahab?"
Veer takes his own seat and looks at her pointedly.
"Training," he elaborates. "Aaj se, we will have dinner here in the room. Just you and me. I will teach you Rani ma's table etiquette to it's last t.
"Etiquette doesn't end with a t." Amrit points out. "Kiyun? Are you embarrassed on my behalf? I did tell you Kuwar sahab, I'm not the right girl for you. Shukar hai aap ko samajh aaya, dher hi sahi!"
"Pooch nahi raha hoon madam, batha raha hoon," Veer tells her as he places a plate before her and starts piling it up with food. "I don't need your opinion on it. I'm telling you how it's going to happen. You will practice during dinner - I'll see your improvement during breakfast with everyone. It may be a pretence, but you are my wife out there. My other half so to speak. I'd rather at least one half is spared of Rani ma's criticism." He shakes his head at some dark thought and serves himself. "Between you and me, I'm the disappointment - you, you are supposed to be perfect, behetareen, unparalleled - such that, Rani ma could never find one who is your better. You are my victorious move against her, my trump card."
His eyes gleam with a madness that fills her insides with a chill. Amrit realizes that she is unwillingly made a pawn in this battle between mother and son. She had no choice but to keep moving forward and the man behind her - dictating her moves - she wasn't certain if he was sane.
"Hmm," Veer says self satisfied. "Shuroo kiya jaayein."
He was a relentless teacher. Amrit wonders how Rani Sahiba thinks less of this son of hers when he was as tenacious as she was.
"So, as we eat - we'll talk about Pakistani prisoners."
Amrit's fork slips. Veer corrects her grip on it again and raps on her knuckles with the back of his spoon.
"Dyaan kahaan hai tumhara?" He admonishes and cuts her savoury roll into small pieces himself. "You can't keep watching your cutlery as if you are performing a surgery on your food. There will be conversation around which you have to participate in -"
He plucked one piece on his fork and brought it to her mouth. "Learn to multitask."
Amrit swallows the bite just to shut him up.
"What about Pakistani prisoners?" She asks.
"There's a list of those who were recommended to be released under Rani ma's campaign scheme. Want to check and see if your aashiq is among them?"
He pulls out a file from nowhere and flips it open. The smile he gives at her eagerness to reach for it is condescending.
"I've heard dogs learn tricks better when they are given reward treats - aaj dekh bhi liya."
Amrit ignored the insult in favour of checking that precious document. It was the culmination of all her efforts. She won't let a petty insult ruin it. Veer watched her in silence for a moment as she reads through the file.
"What will you do when you get him out?" He muses aloud.
"Nothing. He knows how to live his life."
Veer chuckles darkly.
"You want me to believe you won't want to go to him? That you won't run away?"
"Do you play chess Kuwar sahab?"
"Why? You want to learn that next?" He retorts.
Amrit shakes her head. Returns to her food and manages - perfectly - to take a bite from her fork.
"The first rule of any battle is to trust your enemy to do the worst and your soldier to do the best. You have placed me on your side Kywar sahab, you have no choice but to believe I will do my best. If you doubt your own soldier - your opponent will benefit."
For a moment Veer says nothing, then his face breaks into a deceptively bright smile.
"Shukar hai," he says. Shukar hai aap ko samajh aaya, dher hi sahi!" He pays back in her own words, adding his signature sarcasm to it. "You are my soldier. Don't try to be my queen." He offers her another bite. "I've learned my lesson of trusting women. You are left with nothing if you depend on them. Rani ma. Anaita. Tum. All you women know is to disappoint. Ab aur nahi - now I decide the rules of this game."
"Kuwar sahab -"
She jumps at the sound of the door opening. In comes Rani Sahiba, her face a mask of indifference. Veer looks at her annoyedly.
"I'm having serious doubts about your manners Rani Ma," he greets. "Zara dimaag mein zoor daliyein, somewhere - someone might have taught you something about not entering rooms of newly married couples without knocking?"
To his credit Rani sahiba doesn't even flinch. Amrit feels her face burning. She looks away. Rani sahiba being Veer's mother has the nerve to smile.
"You didn't come for dinner. I wanted to talk. It cannot wait." She says pleasantly.
"Kahiyein," Veer mimics her pleasantness. "I'm sure you took the trouble to come all the way up to deliver some shok bhara samachaar!"
"Since you are insisting Veer that I give your wife," she throws a dark look at Amrit. "All due respect and status of a daughter in law of this royal family...I have arranged for that one ritual you missed to force upon us." She pauses for dramatic effect. "It cannot happen that a new daughter in law has joined the family and the newly married couple as you so eloquently put do not seek blessings from our kuldevi? I have arranged a kuldevi pooja for you and bahu. You should prepare to leave tomorrow."
The chill in her smile and the way Veer had suddenly gone very still tells Amrit all she needs to know about this upcoming veneration. The woman has her son's cruel streak, for her eyes flashes with victory at the ghost like pallor in Veer's face. Amrit has the urge to reach out and take his hand - a misplaced emotion that she quickly stomps on. This is the man who made her wear those anklets. She's not going to forget that.
"Kiyun, you have a problem Veer?" Rani sahiba asks sweetly.
"Nahi." Veer's voice is little too high, little too cherry. "Of cause I have no problem." He looks at his mother, his eyes reddening, his fists clenched. "So you'll be going with us too, won't you Rani Ma? Or do you have a problem?"
"Of cause. I - I will." Her voice falters and Veer's fist tightens.
"Of cause," he says. "Of cause."
He rises from the table abruptly.
"If you could finish me off in the process I'm sure you won't think twice to poison your own food. Aap kha lijiye Amrit, humari bhook mitt gayie."
Throwing those last words as if he was spitting out the said poison, Veer left Amrit staring up at the sweet yet cruel face of a supposedly benevolent woman.
Prompt #16: Jitter
Word count: 610 - a slight continuation of Prompt #14: Scour. Marji and Raiku talk about the aftermath
Tumblr media
Raiku worked his mouth, an intense need to scold the miqo'te before him. Burying her head in her hands, her black and white hair tumbling down in frizzy layers so thick he could just see her wrists, the rest of her hidden. She really needs a haircut.
“Rai I looked like an idiot, no, worse, an absolute nut. I was going to say something cool, like 'Hey where'd you get that book'  or 'Why don't you ask the heroine herself?' but better. Instead what did I do? I dropped half the library down on me and ran like a twice damned sinner.”
Marji flings her hands in the air as if to ask the gods how they allowed her to do this. Raiku turned on his heel, hiding himself from his friend. His cheeks reddened and puffed, eyes dark as they stared at the ceiling. He started to tap his foot before going rigid.
Slowly, as if each word pained him, he asked “Why don't you just ask him on a date, Marj?”
She gasped behind him and he rolled his eyes and cracked his neck. He could hear her start to pace behind him as she spoke almost to herself before realizing he was in the room. His room. The room he got for a pittance for his deeds across the First. His countless hours spent scouring the land for people to save. Everything painstaking and awful and wonderful at the same time. Their growth, his growth, like weeds in the desert. Her voice breaks through his concentration like nails cutting through his skull.
“Rai what can I ask him? What can I say? He and I don't even belong on the same dimension, let alone what if, what if he says no? What if he, he gets hurt, what if-”
“Stop!” Raiku shouted. “By the gods, by wicked white Marji who is standing in front of me? Are you the gods-damned warrior of darkness” the word fell from his mouth like bile “or are you some little teenager flitting about on whims?”
He didn't know when his chest started to heave, or the hot salt burning at the corners of his eyes.  He saw her ears lay back, her tail curling between her legs as she stared at him. She looked so pitiful and it made her all the angrier.
“You are supposed to be angry, melancholic, see the dangers of the world and fight through. Take what you want, move on your own terms. Mimi, Mimette, Haurchefant, who made the first move? It was you! Who, the fuck, is standing before me now? You said the light was removed but so was your resilience.”
He folded his arms, and refused to look at her. Time seemed to stop, and a little voice was telling him he was being cruel, but what did it matter to be cruel to someone who isn't who you thought they'd be? So what if her past lovers are dead and gone shes Marji she should be better and move on. She should just be the same as she was before.
He heard something heavy schlump into a creaking chair. He sighed and turned to find her hugging her arms, bent over and heavy lidded. Her eyes stared at nothing.
“Rai, what do you want me to do?” her voice is soft. “Time can heal a wound but you still see the scar.”
He bit his lip, trying to stop the burning from bursting forth but his fat hot tears betrayed him.
“I've been gone for four years, and in your time it was only-only a few bell's time! I thought I could go back, be normal, forget everything that happened here. That you and I would be the same, I could be happy. I want to go back.” he wailed.
“But you can't.” She said.
“No, I can't.”
SPIRITUAL VICTORY BEHIND ENEMY LINES
Ephesians 6:12 -- "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
The reality is that we're in battle.  We're being prevailed against.  Some of us are "losing" in the fight against sin and sickness, disease and death.  Some of us are losing the battle for our kids to know Jesus.  Some of us are battling for our marriages. Some of us are battling against poverty, and the very things that hinder the fulfillment of the prophetic word in our lives.  War wages for the fulfillment of our very divine DESTINIES.
LACK OF KNOWLEDGE
Hosea 4:6 -- "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:  because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me:  seeing thou has forgotten the law of God, I will also forget thy children."
This infers that if God's people had knowledge of who they really are in Christ, of who God is, and of the rights and privileges of their DOMINION -- they wouldn't be destroyed.
As soon as we become blood-bought believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we're thrust behind enemy lines, though assured of God's protection.  However, we're also reminded that we operate in an environment of spiritual terrorism.
".....We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one" (1 John 5:19).
SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY
John 15:7 -- "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."
Jesus walked in union with His Father.  We too must do the same with Him.  We only have true SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY to the degree that we are abiding in Him.  The angels do not respect us and the demons do not obey us because of who we are, but because of who is in us.
The Bible says that the birds of the air come to snatch away the Word of God (Luke 8:5-15).  The birds of the air are the demons that snatch away the Word from a man's heart, but only because a man leaves it out there unprotected.  The devil cannot take away the word from our hearts if we hold it close and protect it through:
Affirming It Out Loud
Meditating on It,
And visualizing it coming to pass in our lives.
THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY
Psalm 78:9-11 -- "The sons of Ephraim were archers equipped with bows, yet they turned back in the day of battle.  They did not keep the covenant of God and refused to walk in His law;  they forgot His deeds and His miracles that He had shown them."
The apostle John wrote, "They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death." (Revelation 12:11).
The elements of victory are recounted to us in this passage.  They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb:  This means we no longer are fighting FOR victory but we fight FROM victory.  Triumph is assured when we enter the battle.
ACTING VIOLENTLY ON THE WORD
Matthew 11:12 -- "Violent men take the Kingdom by force."
It is to be understood that our battles are to be the manifestations of His victory.  The ultimate challenge is not the battle itself but the decision to participate.  Notice that the "armor of God" in Ephesians Chapter 6 has no protection for your back.  We are ill-equipped for retreat.
The shield of faith is our truth and our buckler.  It's the truth of the Word of God, and it's given to every believer to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one (Eph. 6:16).  But it has to be used.  We are to be doers of God's Word.  When we act, the shield moves when we do, even if we don't feel it.
We don't have the Sword of the Spirit until the Word has been made real to our spirit.
We don't have the Shield of Faith until we walk in that faith of who God says we are in Christ.
We don't  have the Shoes of Peace until we get into the presence of God.
We don't have the Helmet of Salvation until we have a revelation of Christ's finished work on the cross.
We don't have the Breastplate of Righteousness until we start thinking like God thinks.
We don't have the Belt of Truth until the Holy Spirit leads us into the truth of the fullness of the reality of God.
WE ARE HIS AUTHORITY
Matthew 6:10  -- "Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
God's world collides with the world of darkness, and His world always wins.  Our battle is always a battle for DOMINION -- a conflict of kingdoms.
God has chosen to work through us.  WE ARE HIS DELEGATED AUTHORITY on planet earth, and prayer is the vehicle that gives occasion for His invasion.  Those who don't pray allow darkness to continue ruling.  The enemy's greatest efforts at deceiving the Church are centered on diluting the purpose and effect of prayer.
