Please follow @urbandesidocumentary - Well, #HipHopHeads and culture vultures will know #HustlersHC were the first #Sikh #RapCrew to come out of the UK (West London) in 1991. With a strong socio-political message, they did much to bridge religious divides in the #SouthAsian community as well as creating much respect for #Sikhs in the #Rap fraternity. Hustlers HC were also responsible with #DJRitu and Markie Mark (and others), for organising and maintaining one of the first and most respected #AsianNightClubs in #London, #BombayJungle at the #WagClub. . Personal heroes of many #hiphop DJs such as myself, it was due to their efforts I was able to play at the world famous #limelightnightclub in London (Special thanks to #HBomb @hboogierocks). . The trio #TheHustlerMC (Paul Arora), #SkiMan (Mandeep Walia) and #DJMitts made their first television appearance on the series #RhythmAndRaag in 1992. . The group released music through #NationRecords (founded by the legendary #AkiNawaz) Hustlers HC are credited with being one of the first #AsianHipHop groups. Notable tracks #BigTroubleInLittleAsia and #OnARide which was co-writes by #SimonUnderwood, an English bass guitarist best known as a member of influential post-punk bands "The Pop Group" and "Pigbag". . We are launching a crowdfunding opportunity soon for you, the fans of #UrbanDesi and participants of the culture to join us as collaborators in this important community project of discovery to explore our #identity, #culture and #heritage.
