but personally, i think if pm dazai ever time traveled to meet the ada, they would, without much thought, say or do something that shows that they genuinely like him and he would probably just pass out because he cant handle genuine positive emotions directed at him (see bsd wan)

They stay up all night in bed crying and in the morning they feel so exhausted of the feeling of loneliness that they cannot bare thinking anymore and drown their emotions in whatever they can find, be it alcohol, watching a show or working, whatever can take their mind off you is what they are doing. Everyone around them knows and feels their grief, they constantly try to talk to them but if they mention anything about you they break into tears there and then.

To everyone around them they seem perfectly fine, they are proud people and a minor break up will not affect them, or so it seems, in truth they miss you every day, every hour, every second but they refuse to let anyone know. They walk around acting like their life is going about as normal, maybe it's fucked up as it always has been, in reality their world is falling apart more and more, every second they spend knowing you'll never come back is a second where their heart aches. The pain seemingly never ending but their ego is too big for them to show how broken and empty they feel without you.

They don't understand this feeling, it's not right, it's not what they were supposed to feel, they were meant to feel nuteral, even happy, but no there this weird feeling which would not go away no matter what they did. What was wrong with them? Why did they feel this way?

I imagine the first time Dazai and Fyodor met, Fyodor's japanese wasn't super good and as a result, Dazai would insult him to his face with advanced japanese and when a while later, when his japanese improved, Fyodor was legit trembling from anger (Or the cold, you can never tell with his anemic ass)

does anyone know if they've mentioned poe learning japanese? i find that really interesting bc he writes whole fucking novels, so does ranpo know english or did poe spend years studying japanese after his and ranpo's very first battle so that poe could live in japan and write novel after novel for ranpo to solve???? (theyre lovers and no one can change my mind, ranpoe is the strongest ship in the whole show)

I highly doubt Mori ever hurt a single hair on Dazai or Chuuya’s heads, or had them really hurt or punished. That wouldn’t benefit him in any way, and seems out of character regarding two characters he wanted to keep close and loyal. He didn’t push Dazai away until Oda, and even then it wasn’t just for the sake of hurting Dazai, it was for the permit. And I refuse to believe Chuuya would’ve stuck around if he was being mistreated to that extent, loyalty or blackmail be damned. They’re both powerful assets that Mori wouldn’t have wanted to give incentive to leave, because if they decided to leave, who could stop either of them? It just doesn’t seem in character for Mori from what we’ve seen of him to me. Neither would a bunch of other stuff I see in fanon, like him forcing Chuuya to use Corruption at all, much less to the extent of permanent damage (I usually see this when the author wants Chuuya to join the ADA I think) Chuuya is pretty much a weapon of mass destruction, even without using Corruption! And he’s a model employee! That’s not something Mori would just throw out the window! Sorry for the rant in your inbox, this is just something that annoys me and I could talk forever about mischaracterizations and fanons, feel free to ignore!
I agree with everything you said fr fr like I understand that a lot of people despise mori (me included but I find his character highly interesting. I wanna study him under a microscope like a bug) and want to use him as the plot device in angst fics but mischaracterizing the character and his dynamic with others is not it yk. The amount of fics featuring mori abusing skk makes me think half of the fandom didn't read the same bsd as I did.
Mori is clever but that doesn't make him flawless. I know for a fact that most of this mischaracterization come from Yosano arc (and holy fuck I hate him for what he did to Yosano) but I think people forget that he was younger than. Not a boss, but a military general, and he has come a long way since then. Not to mention it's evident in fifteen and stormbringer that he's more cool headed and silly than he was before, seeing how unafraid both Dazai and Chuuya were of him. There is no canon evidence of him torturing Dazai (why would he even touch him like he knows dazai can nullify his ability and possibly kill him) or Chuuya (if he tortured Chuuya why would he be so loyal to him now? Make it make sense).
And the thing about fanon too. Like I said, to create angst, you need a solid plot device that can convince the readers that it's the source of all evil, and Mori is a good candidate for it. He has the aura, he is an antagonist, and he has a dark past. It's easier to villanize him even more. But yeah, forcing Chuuya to use corruption doesn't make any sense because like? He'll die if Dazai is absent?? Why would he kill off one of his executives? Yokohama’s strongest ability user who's so loyal to him?? 😭
Anyways yeah this fandom loves mischaracterizing characters lol it's truly annoying

Can I ask your top 10 fav fics ever (from any fandom, if you don't mind)?

YOU FUCKING BET!!!! I love having the opportunity to list my favorites for anything, though I'm also incredibly picky about fanfics, so I don't actually know (until I start scrolling my bookmarks and listing them) if I'll reach a whole 10 favorites!! But I might! (Note: these are in no particular order)
What I Want From You is Sweet by VampireFaun (Heaven Official's Blessing) [And basically every other work that she's written! But some of my other top favorites of hers are The Thing That Was Not His Highness and Beast With Two Backs]: When I can't get a fanfic out of my head, I usually end up drawing an illustration based on it, if I'm bold enough to risk depicting an author's precious words (rare). This is my MOST re-read fic and I won't ever stop. It doesn't help that VampireFaun/Deer is a WONDERFUL PERSON and I love her personality so much. She's an incredible writer!
Tenfold by dgalerab (Bungou Stray Dogs) : Baby's first fic! This was one of the writings that immediately roped me into the fanfic world. When I first was into it, I was under the impression that everyone just went there to write half-assed explorations of sex between characters, and that wasn't so appealing to me. When I discovered that some people can write entire 25-chapter PLOTS with the level of literacy that matches what I hoped to read??? I was hooked. Obviously you can see in this list that I have strong devotion to a handful of fic writers and my favorites are just the top best fics that I return to of their writing. If I find a great writer, I subscribe to them and go on a rampage of consumption through their list of fics, my fandom or not! Please consider doing the same for those authors that I mention like that!! You'll find so much gold. Everything by dgalerab is good in some way, I have almost all of their fics bookmarked. :') My only complaint about this particular story was that HOLY FUCK THE AUTHOR CUT SO MANY SCENES WAY TOO SHORT LMAO. Please let me have a full comfort scene for more than two paragraphs T_T I worked so hard for it. I cried so much. ANYWAY, STILL A HUGE INSPIRATION FOR WHAT I WENT ON TO WRITE!
What You Have Tamed by Parsnipit (Heaven Official's Blessing)
Love is Hard, Life Sucks by gev_ao3 (Bungou Stray Dogs) : A painful inspection of the nuances of domestic abuse. This one rang true to reality so much that I don't think I can re-read it without having a depressive episode. It's not finished, but it's Fyozai, and you know how I feel about that. Also side-plot SKK! I usually can't stand AUs, but this one fits the situations very well. It's the type of fic that only someone who knows a little too much about how abuse works on a victim can write.
Careful Fear and Dead Devotion by intimatopia (Trigun Stampede) : Yet another fic that I couldn't help but draw for! And intimatopia was kind enough to link it in his fic summary T_T - A super angsty sadomasochistic fic about Vash needing pain and Wolfwood needing to give it. If I don't list any other fics by him on here, it's because I'm such a huge enjoyer of his writing (one of my favorite fic authors), so nearly all of them that don't hit on personal triggers are in my favorites category. He's a master at pinning down the PERFECT depictions of characters that make them feel as canon as possible while also becoming more tangible and real. The ZhongXiao, AyaThoma and Kaeluc fics are incredible. Read them all! However, I will mention that one of his fics that first stuck with me was his Kaeluc AU Northbound & Reaching ! Carys has done a lot of BSD fics too, of which a few stick out to me like They Say You Gotta Fake It and that one Soul Eater AU he did where Dazai was a knife in Chuuya's drawer who gained a body. I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT WENT CUZ I CAN'T FIND IT TO LINK YOU BUT GO LOOK THROUGH ALL HIS FICS FOR IT. IT'S REALLY UNIQUE.
Top 5 works, I guess?? As I mentioned several times while gushing, three of these account for entire lists of the author's works that you should enjoy if we share the same taste! VampireFaun, dgalerab, and intimatopia are my top fic authors, and I've read everything they've posted as long as it didn't contain anything personally triggering - and have learned about new fandoms even! Also, Alaruya didn't make it on this list, but they have a Fyozai fic that really inspired me with its imagery and language. I link it in my Sinner fanfic if you're interested!
I have quite a few other random fics I enjoy, but most were from a Heaven Official's Blessing craze recently and then BSD works that inspired me in some way, but they're not very unique or long, so I felt like this was the best collection to list. Most any fic that explores Dazai struggling with self-harm or neediness or asexuality has my attention. It just has to be written well!
AS FAR AS MY NAME - YOU'RE THE FIRST TO ASK THAT QUESTION! I'm a big fan of...how to explain...slightly dehumanizing titles?? Something that isn't really a name, but a description of me in some way. Something that makes me feel mysterious and yet also gives everyone who reads it an idea of the type of works I'm creating. Of course, my main personality trait is being sadistic, and I love the word sadist, and I love putting THE in front of literally any title because I DON'T KNOW LMAO...I'm THE ONE. That kinda thing. I'M THE GUY!! YEAH I'M THE BLOODY SADIST GUY! THAT ONE! I also love smashing words together, so I was like, I can't just be THE sadist....what else do I like....and that's about it. If I name myself I tend to have trouble ever using anything else in reference to me, so Sadist has stuck from the very beginning. It's going to be very hard to part with that name once I publish a novel and have to use a first and last name...

you hated him. that much was clear. the idea that you had ever even considered loving him sent waves of disgust through your body that you couldn’t begin to describe. unfortunately, you were irreversibly connected to him through what you could only assume to be the universe’s most cruel joke.

so, kyotag, your super honest opinion about bsd characters please (aka, who is your fave and who is your least fave. i promise, i am not trying to get you 'cancelled', i am just curious!) 🎤
Ever since I've gotten this ask I've been trembling, I don't think I can ever give bsd honest opinions for the sake of my own future mental sanity LMAO. The upside is, I can talk plenty of the characters I like!!
My favourite character is Kenji! For real, ahah. I'm just always drawn to characters that are just... Good. little guys only trying to do their best and be kind. I suppose there's also a factor of “that's who I want to be” that makes me like them in particular. I don't like the direction they went for Kenji's character in chapter 100.5, but really? I wasn't particularly let down by it either, like it's so fundamentally coherent with the worldview bsd expresses, if anything it was chapter 13 that was out of the scheme. I'm a professional canon ignorer at this point and I'll keep doing just that ahah.
↑ Saw this scene for the first time in the anime, went “Slay! Communist king!”, and he's been my favourite ever since lol.
Although, if we count in Beast, then my favourite character overall must be Beast Atsushi. I mean, have you seen him... Most fucked up guy ever. He went through unimaginable trauma and he still kept being so soft at his core. He just wants to live but everyone is making it so hard for him. He cares for Kyouka so much and he cares for Dazai so much and (to me) he cares for Akutagawa so much like little traumatized boy how did you manage to save all that love in you despite the Horrors. I can't put in words how much I love him but really he's the only character I can say I really sympathize with, like, I want good things to happen to him. I want him to spend the rest of his life coddled and adored.
I love all the female characters <3 I ADORE Kyouka, I think among the other female characters she's the most multilayered and complex character with a structured and compelling story arc. I think she's seriously nice, I really love this stark contrast between her sharp, cynical side and her side that is so sweet and kind and so utterly 14 y/o, and I love how these two sides aren't really in conflict but just come to be together and make her so authentically Kyouka. She's so dear to me. Also, she's the only female character who can compete with the s.kk / ss.kk four for the role of main character, so like, I'm rooting for her ahah.
I adore Yosano for self-explanatory reasons lmao. The chapters of her backstory may not be my absolute favourites for a mere matter of personal taste but I definitely think they make for the best written chapters in the whole manga. I really like how sensitive she is of others' suffering, I think she's amazing– I think her compassion is truly amazing. I want to read more stories of unapologetically compassionate characters. I also generally really really love “older sister” kind of characters!!
I love Kouyou with all I've got. I'm sorry, I genuinely think her story was this good on mistake, but still. I think her backstory makes her genuinely intriguing, I think she's extremely cool and powerful and a joy to see in action, I think toxic mother / daughter relationships are super fun to explore, I think she deserves so much more spotlight and should be back as soon as possible.
I love Mitchell lmao. Like I know it may not look like it but I truly think about her 24/7. I just love women that are kinda silly and over the top. She's got like four lines and every single one is a gem and I adore all of them. She's got those big evident flaws and they make her so human and likeable!!! She's my best friend. Not to mention how loyal she is and how much she cares about her family, I really like those traits of her. Oh, and gowns! I love love love gowns.
Okay but seriously I love all female characters. I didn't like Lucy in particular at the start but she's really grown on me and now I adore her with everything. Wells is spectacular and I need her back as soon as possible. Every woman I didn't mention, from Higuchi to Egawa, believe me I love with all my heart.
I went off a tangent I'm so sorry </3 I know you asked for one character, but how can I not mention the others??? It's just been so long for me in the fandom now and I just can't but grow attached. And I've got so much untapped love for women I never get to talk about on my silly blog that focuses on two men. Following up the list, would be Akutagawa. And I don't want to talk about him because I suppose there's no need to after having made one trillion posts about him but also can I just say? I like him for the same exact reasons I like Kenji. She's just a guy trying to be good. The difference is that he sucks so bad at it, and it makes him SO fun to explore as a character. I really have so much fun playing with him. Then would be Tachihara, Jouno...
... ........................ For the characters I like least, I suppose, R/anpo. I'm so sorry peoples. In R/anpo's case, it's just... Why do you have to be so mean and disrespectful all the time. Seriously, dude. Why is he always treating others as less than he is. I'm sorry, I really am, but I just can't help but find it displeasant? Like it takes zero energy to treat other people with common human decency, c'mon dude. At least Akutagawa is trying to do better, but everyone treats R/anpo like he's entitled to be a jerk? Idk man.
K/unikida. In his case, I Do Get why he's the way that he is (and genuinely can relate to him to an extent), it's just... For the way I am, I consider to try and forcibly impose your own ideals on other people to be about the most insulting thing you can do. And he does that a lot, with Atsushi and Dazai and everyone else. He also has this whole forced lack of empathy thing going on like... I get why he does that, and I get what he went through that made him like he is, but that doesn't change the fact you're kinda being a dick to everyone all the time dude. Please get some therapy.
That doesn't mean there aren't moments when I've genuinely liked them both and found them seriously cool!!!! I still think K/unikida is an interesting character and I genuinely get why people like him. I love the helicopter scene, I remember when I was reading the manga for the first time, when he said “no one ruins my schedule”, I was like, whaa, I was completely in awe. For R/anpo too, the Untold Origins arc from what I could see from the anime was really nice, and I also highly enjoy that one scene of his in chapter 81, the “To tell the truth, I had absolutely no assurance they'd believe me”.

Anne of Green Gables author! I understand this reference!
Impression now
Best girl, she's just trying to live her life post-Guild arc and exist as best she can. I'm so glad she continues to have a presence in the narrative, and I want to see more of her!
Favorite moment
Guild arc, Moby Dick, Atsushi's prison cell. She bears her scars to Atsushi to show exactly why she hates him (and considering all the other members of the Guild, she's probably used to people who don't understand her pain, who have more to their lives than she could ever dream of) only for Atsushi to reveal he has scars just like hers, that they share this pain that no one else does. And when Atsushi asks if the people on the ground deserve to suffer like she did. GOD.
But a close second is the moment where she drags Atsushi out of the cafe to give Kyouka some peace, explaining to Atsushi why he should give her that peace of mind. It's a cute moment, and I like that it shows Lucy has the deeper emotional understanding in this situation versus Atsushi.
Idea for a story
When I finish that one fic where she becomes a detective thanks to Poe moving to Canada it's over for all of you. And maybe a canon-compliant fic exploring her average every day life at the cafe, how she goes about and what she does with her time

Atsulucy is my beloved for a reason... I love they. I would like to explore her dynamic with Kyouka more though, I think they're interesting.

I don't have a specific headcanon, but thanks to some old OC named Lucy I do associate her with ladybugs a lot.

He's a silly goofy guy who's rivalry with Ranpo is really fun, and the continued use of his ability in present BSD storylines is really cool. As a fan of IRL Poe's writing style and stories, he's an absolute treat. Could use more Cask of Amontillado references though.

His inroduction is iconic... but the moment where he casually reveals how incredibly wealthy he is and gets to be the one who shocks Ranpo instead of the other way around? Oh, oh that is wonderful.
Idea for a story
As I mentioned above with Lucy, the fic where he fucks off to Canada and accidentally brings her into the mystery business is one I treasure dearly, even if I don't know how to write it just yet. I also have an AU version of him that, while he doesn't have a story yet, is quite an intriguing premise.

I don't have a specific one, but I do feel like the fandom tends to soften him a little bit, make him a little bit too shy and anxious.

Ranpoe is iconic, but to be fair it is like... the main one we see in canon. If we're talking about dynamics I'd like to explore with him, I think him getting dragged around by Kenji on a shopping trip or something could be fun (based on that one brief scene in the manga where Kenji tried to help him but couldn't understand him) or a scenario with him and Fukuzawa.

Oda hc’s that i started last night and am finishing while im on the train:

- has the best sleep schedule out of anyone in the BSD universe, but he also is just awake at 3AM for some reason
- his footsteps are always quiet, u cannot hear him even if he was walking behind u, one time scared the shit out of Dazai and now dazai always looks behind him when he turns the lights off in his room

HEY HEY HEY. assorted analysis and thoughts on yukito >:)
This doesn’t contain fic spoilers but it will make certain behavioral things about him make sense, so if you want to make your own theories and deduce it just from the canon content or the fic, that’s fine, but here’s the mechanics I’m working off of :0
So one of the few pieces of info we get to work with is that he’s been working for 20 years, suggesting that’s when the government took him in as well as indicating his ability kicked in when he was about 7. That’s frighteningly young. I don’t doubt he was inclined to be smart from the start, but the idea that he’d have to witness bloody accidental deaths as a child is bound to leave him fucked up in SOME way.
It also sets him up to be isolated early on. I have no doubts that he was likely painfully aware from an early age that he’s smarter than most and unavoidably dangerous. I have never seen any parents be mentioned or shown which tells me that he was either (in classic bsd style) an orphan, or he was forcefully taken from his parents— which is a whole other layer of yikes. Regardless, I can’t imagine the government was gentle towards him in any way, after all, he’s marked as a designated threat. From that, I don’t think showing emotion or socializing like a normal person is in his wheelhouse. I don’t think he knows much in the way of softness either, especially verbally. He is blunt and doesn’t give a fuck in so many ways, although I do think he comes by that naturally. (I don’t doubt that the way he displays love is acts of service. It’s All He Knows Bro.)
Now, this isolation created by his ability ends up manifesting in two ways. For one, he generally keeps to himself, you don’t often see him talking about his own opinions and interests, and you especially don’t see him discussing his past. He very rarely volunteers any information about himself, likely under the notion that nobody has ever asked nor wants to know. He probably also doesn’t socialize or talk about himself because he’s been put on such a pedestal of danger and intelligence that he likely feels that no one would understand any of it to begin with. He’s here to work, why on earth would you want to know anything about him??
The second way his isolation manifests is in the doll collecting. For one, one of the few panels we have of him as a child has him holding one, suggesting that they’ve been the only stable constant in his life. He’s bound to find that comforting, especially if it can’t leave him or be afraid of him. Plus, his ability cannot kill it, a rare grace in his line of work. It’s no wonder he finds them more interesting than people, they’re probably the only things that would bother listening to him. In essence, it’s a doppelgänger of humanity, except they understand him and don’t demand anything of him.
From what I see, his experiences with other people boil down to three main interactions. Criminals, who he is tasked to kill and who he likely wouldn’t want to know regardless. After all, he does hold strong that the world should not have murderous assholes in it. There’s civilians, who are not on the same level as him and wouldn’t understand him or his line of work to begin with, so he’d dismiss them as simply ordinary and rather stupid. The last encounter is anyone in the government, whose main goal is to use him.
All the government does is restrict him for an ability he did not choose to have and use him as a weapon, but they hardly see him as an actual person. In that way, he’s only ever valued for his ability but no one has ever taken an interest in who he is outside of that, he’s there to be useful, end of story. And of course, if he were to fail a case, they’d kill him. He literally earns his living, with every case he solves, he gets the privilege of being alive. And there’s no out in this deal either, they’ll work him til he’s dead and if he were to leave or go rogue, it would be a death sentence. In essence, as stressful as this current situation is, it’s the most stable option for living he’s got.
He’d sooner be on his deathbed than admit any of his feelings out loud. But the work, as much as he’s made peace with his situation, still likely takes a toll on him. Not to mention the inherent feeling of not belonging and feeling inhuman. But I think he takes his ability and his natural intelligence as a way to justify and be at peace with being alone, no point in fighting against it.
Thus, the idea that someone would want to know him and treat him like a normal person regardless of his ability and job, well that would be rather startling now wouldn’t it? He’s used to operating solo and being wanted for what he can do rather than who he is, that’s why friends with benefits is so comfortable for him, it’s a dynamic he knows. So the idea that someone is interacting with him for a purpose that isn’t linked to a demand of some sort is very strange and very new for him. If he acts weird, it’s because he is weird, he only has half an idea of how to interact with the reader. He doesn’t quite know how to human but oh baby he’s trying.

it was another day where luma decided to go to school. their mom had dropped them off and left. luma managed to get through physics okay. they enjoyed the class and the teacher, who made the lessons fun and was overall a funny person.
english wasn’t too bad, they did gain a little anxiety from it because of the rule to not use phones. they ended up skipping econ (again) and headed to the study center.
the study center was a place for students to unwind and relax and also get work done. luma found a community there and was grateful for them. the counselors were nice and supportive and provided luma with good advice and coping techniques.
“hey luma,” mona, the head counselor, greeted. “hi there,” they replied back, taking a seat on the sofa. “let us know if you need anything,” she said, heading to her office.
luma nodded and pulled out their phone, to which they saw a text from an unknown number.
UNKNOWN: watch your back bitch
luma was startled by this message, wondering if it was even for them. since it was an unknown number, they weren’t able to block it. they quickly deleted the message and tried readjusting their breathing.
“what the fuck?” they whispered. who would be out to get them? they tried to be as kind and caring as possible, so who would be their enemy?
shaking their head, they tried distracting themselves with a youtube video.
the next day, luma decided to skip school and hang out with dazai. as they walked down the sidewalk, they suddenly felt a sinister presence.
but before they could do anything, they were yanked into an alleyway and shoved to the ground. “what the fuck?!” they exclaimed loudly.
they whined in pain as the one of the men in black sweatsuits kicked their face. luma tried raising their hands up to create a shadow monster but another man pulled their hands behind their head.
three men continued to kick their stomach as another held their hands above their head. they cried out in pain, wondering when this torture would end, if it ever did.
“stay away from dazai osamu, whore,” a deep voice spoke, exiting the alleyway. luma laid on the ground, defeated. they were embarrassed they couldn’t fight back. there was a throbbing pain in their stomach and nose.
trying to get up, they pushed themselves off the ground and stumbled out of the alleyway.
they’d be damned if they were going to stay away from dazai. he was their everything.
they quickly texted dazai to meet them at his place since it was closer.
soon arriving at mori’s house, they waited outside for dazai. they didn’t know if mori was home and they didn’t want to be alone with him.
when osamu arrived, his eye widened at their beaten up state. “what happened?!” he held their arms lightly. “i..i got beaten up, these guys in black they…” osamu pulled them into a hug, squeezing tightly.
entering the house, luma immediately spotted mori on the couch, reading a newspaper. their whole body flinched and osamu diverted their gaze in front of them.
they made it to his room and he grabbed a first-aid kit. before he placed bandages on the cuts, he kissed each of them tenderly. luma’s face was red and they felt warm all over.
“tell me what happened.”
“i was planning on meeting up with you and then i was pulled into an alleyway and these guys beat the shit outta me,” luma explained, hugging themselves.
“they also mentioned to stay away from you, but like hell i’m gonna do that!” they exclaimed, shaking their head. osamu pondered for a second. he tried thinking of who could possibly do this to luma.
rage burned through his bloodstream. the thought of someone hurting luma made him furious. “i’m so embarrassed,” luma muttered, causing dazai to look up at them. “why? you have nothing to be embarrassed about.”
“well i mean i let my guard down and let those guys beat me up, i couldn’t fight back because they restricted my hands,” they explained in an embarrassed tone. “luma, that’s not your fault. i promise you i will get to the bottom of this. i promise.”

NEW BSD EPISODE, THOUGHTS
There was a lot of cool stuff that happened this episode! The ADA reuniting scene with Atsushi tackle hugging Kunikida and Kyouka having to physically keep herself from also tackle hugging her family, Seeing Tecchou again, bunch of old man yaoi, Ranpo being an absolute delight and my favorite character he is so cool I love him and so does half of the police force, the appearance of our boy Akutagawa, And a bunch of really cool animation choices! The part where Atsushi was talking about how he was scared and then the words saying fear condensed and turned into Atsushi was awesome, and I think I saw a style change when they were talking about Fukuchi's backstory, and style changes are always awesome. We still haven't seen what the ending looks like but from what I could hear of it the song is pretty good!
What I want to talk about the most though is stuff that I heard about from the Fukuchi backstory, before that though I just wanna say,
BSD FANDOM PLEASE. I KNOW WE HATE FUKUCHI BUT THERE WAS SO MUCH STUFF ABOUT HIM THAT WE SOULD TALK ABOUT MORE!!! First of all, the fact that he has three movies based on him and that most of the united nations guys seem to have a crush on him is fucking hilarious. And second of all, this is the part I want to scream about,
ONE OF HIS PAST EXPLOITS IN THE WAR WAS ABOUT HIM GETTING RID OF A PROJECT THAT WAS CREATING WERE-PEOPLE!!! WERE-PEOPLE!!!
WHO DO WE KNOW THAT HAS A WERE-PERSON POWER, A STILL SLIGHTLY NOT EXPLAINED PAST (LOOKING AT YOU 'Compared to what your parents did to you when you were first born this doesn't even count as abuse') AND WHATEVER THE FUCK MADE HIM SO SPECIAL IN THE DEAD APPLE (LOOKING AT YOU USING YOUR ABILITY EVEN WHEN YOUR ABILITY CRYSTAL HAD ALREADY BEEN REMOVED AND ALSO IT'S BLUE WHEN ALL THE OTHER CRYSTALS WERE RED)?

Am I yelling too much? Quite possibly. Do I care? NO! THIS INFORMATION COULD BE SO IMPORTANT!!! THE VAMPIRE'S THAT THEY MENTIONED APPEAED AGAIN, WHO SAYS THAT THIS MIGHT NOT SHOW UP LATER!!?
I have done the math, the war ended about 11 to 12 years ago, meaning that Atsushi had been born already while the war was still going on, it's entirely possible that he might be connected to that incident!! And while it does kinda seem like that whole thing happened kinda early on in the war, well that's what parents are for!
This could also tie into whatever is connecting him to the book, if the tiger is an artificial ability created by some government, maybe they used the book or something like that! To be completely honest I am constantly grasping at straws to figure out what the heck is up with Atsushi and the book, I have no idea what could be connecting them, but, the more theories you have the more likely that one of them will be correct!!
Now, from this point on I'm going to be discussing manga spoilers, so anime onlys beware.
I am both so hyped and so fucking scared for next Wednesday, for as we all know, Akutagawa does exactly three things in this arc, show up, be gay, and die. He's accomplished the first one, I'm excited for the second one, and the third one terrifies me. I DON'T WANT HIM TO DIEEEEEEEEEE!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! But I'm also so excited for 'you know the reason yourself, don't you?' and 'run, you fool (soft smile)' and 'from the start the hole was only for his ally to escape through' because, shin soukoku canon. But also all of the gay shit comes with the knowledge of what comes next and AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! FUCK!
Also, one thing that happened in this episode kinda reminded me of a question I had.
Where the fuck are Junichirou and Kenji???
Have they just been wandering the port mafia underground this entire time? I know that Juni probably runs into them again, or at least runs into Kunikida, but does he ever meet up with Atsushi or the rest of the agency at all? Or does he just get kidnapped off screen and we don't see him until they reveal him tied to the bed? And what about Kenji?? Does he just walk around with no idea what's going on with the agency until he meets Tecchou? Where is he???
Anyways, great episode can't wait for next week!!!

My first impression: ok um story time this one is kinda crazy >_< ok sooo a few years ago... I didn't know anything about tpn but there was this video in my recommended that was like the first scene of the first episode of the anime and I saw in the comments something about demons so I thought that there were demons disguised as humans or some shit in that place (I didn't know it was an "orphanage" and I thought it was like a boarding school or something) and I thought Thoma and Lanni were bullying her and when she said she's going to eat them was foreshadowing that she's planning to eat them later because she IS one of the demons but she's not revealing that yet um anyway I was making up some crazy ass lore tbh I even assigned roles to everyone from that one video and I still remember them even tho like I didn't think about it until years later I was so
My impression now: SHE'S AWESOME I LOVE HER one of my favourite characters ever I think I adore her personality
Favourite thing about that character: she stands by her ideals and doesn't give up easily despite being discouraged so so many times she's so headstrong and a natural leader AND AND SHE LOVES HER FAMILY SO MUCH and she tries to make the best decisions no matter what and chooses to be kind even though the world is against her

Hi, Sadist, I love your artworks and stories so much, as an aspiring writer. I was wondering what you thought of Fyodor's death during the last season 5 episode of bsd, because I felt that all this time he was shown to be sooo intelligent, and then he got fooled way too easily by skk's fake vamp trick (i'm dying), the plot of bsd is confusing me :') AM I alone here??
First of all, you've come to the right place. If you didn't see my other most recent ask, I'm a BSD s4-5 hater, and an Asagiri hater as a whole, really, after seeing the kind of shit he's pulled.
Second of all, let's get something straight here: FYODOR IS NOT DEAD. You can't EVER tell me that 1) a BSD character of importance has actually died for real and 2) his dead body was not even shown on screen and Dazai said "HE'S DEFINITELY DEAD" HAHAHAHA. LAUGHABLE. ATROCIOUS. He's obviously gonna come back minus one arm. Asagiri doesn't care about logic or good storytelling, anymore. It won't matter that a helicopter literally BLEW UP WITH HIM IN IT, Asagiri will be like "um akshually" and then the worst possible plot convenience explanation ever, just like EVERYTHING IN THE NEWEST SEASONS HAS BEEN SO FAR.
Like please. I'm SUCH a hater right now. I don't ever want to see more BSD content. I'm done. Wrap it up. The vampires were enough. I didn't need fucking CHUUYA PRETENDING TO BE ONE AND MAKING THE AUDIENCE JUST BELIEVE THAT FYODOR WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO THINK HE ACTUALLY WAS A VAMPIRE?? HELLO? Smart person, who??? Also tell me how he simulated the red eyes, Asagiri. Hm? How'd he pull that off?
Bullshit.
Fyodor and Dazai came off as intelligent in their first few appearances together. Fyodor's BANGER scene with Ace? I'll never get over it. I LOVED that. Was it a BIT of a stretch in a lot of areas? Yeah! BSD has always been that way. But it absolutely lost its course and any sort of grounding in reality or good storytelling when it came to S4-5. All of the "'''''''intelligent'''''''''' characters are now just plot convenience masters. It's absolutely ridiculous. We went from high school level reading to kindergarten shit.
And I never thought I could be made to HATE Dazai. But these new seasons turned up the "oo I'm so quirky" dial on his character so hard that I completely disconnected with him and Fyodor and couldn't stand whatever scenes we got with them together. The whole prison break scene was devastating, too. What EVEN.
Coming from a writer's perspective, this is just the LAZIEST plot I have ever seen in an anime. Asagiri spent NO amount of effort deciding how to make characters work to get themselves out of whatever pits they fell into. He just went "oh and then this other guy swooped in and fixed it! Easy peasy! I'll beat up Kenji again! And then I'll give him this VERY IMPORTANT rage form suddenly that was NEVER explored and NEVER mentioned until just now! For like two minutes so he can "beat" this guy in a fight and then let him go because NOBODY DIES EVER!"
I seriously can't. I knew Dazai wouldn't die but all the fan theories of how Dazai wouldn't die were better than what actually happened. It's almost amazing the amount of non-effort that went into these season arcs.
After finishing them, I now hate Gogol, Fyodor, Dazai, Chuuya (more than before), Atsushi, Fukuchi, Ranpo (though I've never once had a positive thought about him) and basically everybody--except Akutagawa was okay, Sigma, Jouno, and Tetchou had potential, and Bram was very cute. They ruined everyone else so badly that it felt like OOC versions of them. Or did next to nothing with them, like Jouno and Tetchou. ESPECIALLY DAZAI. I will be malding over Dazai for FOREVER now. Why the hell did they turn him up to 100 on the most annoying parts of his personality???
In conclusion, not a single thing went right in those episodes, it was all "oh this could be go-- [GETS RUINED]" over and over again. There was a SINGLE episode that made me happy in S4 and it was that one where Gogol was introduced and he yanked on Atsushi's leg and stuff and that was IT. LMFAO.
Okay I have to cut myself off or I'll go on for hours. THANKS FOR ASKING ME ABOUT IT, IT WAS ALL BOTTLED UP IN ME.
And more importantly, thank you SO much for the compliments on my work!! I'm so happy you like my stuff, and I hope you take writing lessons from Asagiri on all the things you should NEVER do in a story if you want it to be worth anything!!!!

Ace is very touched starved. He loves to fall asleep on you and cuddle you to his heart's content.
He's very affectionate and spoils you rotten, even if you don't want him hugging you it's ok! He'll make sure you accept his affections!
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
He's pretty messy. Ace's temper didn't just disappear and leave when he became an adult. His short temper is still there and it got worse ever since he was a kid.
He burn the person right Infront of you. He'd warn the person to fuck off, and if they don't he'll burn them without a second thought.
If you want him to kill the woman who was harassing you last week, say no more! He'll bring you back their head if you'd like! Anything for his cute little firefly!
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
He'll make sure your comfortable. He'll be very cuddly and will fall asleep on you when he just knocks out.
Ace likes to spend time with you and he'd try to be a good boyfriend, despite his temper. So what if he kidnapped you and is keeping you away from your old life!
He'll get you whatever you want or need., Just say the word. Ace is very insecure and wants you to be happy and love him unconditionally, he would hate himself if he ever saw you upset.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
Ace tends to drug your food, so you're asleep a lot during the day. He mainly does this when you're misbehaving.
You personal space is gone now. If you tell him to leave you alone he'll immediately think that he did something wrong and that you hate him. You don't want to see him cry, do you?
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
Ace is rarely vulnerable around people, he's only vulnerable around those he trust.
Now, keep in mind just because Ace is a simp doesn't mean he's an idiot. He knows when you're trying to use him, and he'll shut that down immediately. You'll only see him cry when you made him upset, but he'll never actually talk about his true feelings until he trust you.
Once he trusts you, he'll talk more about how he feels, what he's insecure about and a lot of personal stuff. He won't let you use his weaknesses against him, he knows he won't be able to control himself if you tried.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
He'll be heartbroken. He'll be on the defense, dodging your punches while telling you to stop. When you don't that's when he starts to get annoyed. He'll grab your wrist, you stopping when you feel your arm burn. You'll scream while Ace tells you to stop, rage being in his voice.
Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
Oh Lord please help him. When he can't find you he'll have a panic attack. He'd ask everyone one the ship if they've seen you. His mind would be racing with so many thoughts.
"What if someone kidnapped them?"
"What if they jumped off the ship?"
Marco will literally have to calm him down because Ace is literally shaking and crying because of his paranoia.

It's canon that Luffy is very physically affectionate. Whenever Luffy sees you he'll hug you so tightly you won't be able to move. He'll kiss your cheek and talk about how much he loves you.
Luffy does understand that you're afraid of him and don't want him touching you, but he just doesn't care! You're his, you belong to him, you're his Pirate Queen, nobody else's...

He'll burn down an entire village if it means you won't leave him. The only people he doesn't mind you talk to, hang out with or share you with is his crew, nobody else.
When he took you he forced you to watch your home burn. He held you as it all burned, his eyes covered by his hat as he held a large grin on his face.

He would treat you like he treats his crew, but you get treated a bit differently.

He doesn't respect your boundaries, not one little bit. He'll chain you to his bed and leave you there for days just because you did hug him back.
Whenever you and the Strawhats stop at some town, you have to be with Luffy. He'll buy you stuff and drag on his little adventures.
He loves it when you cry, it's one his dark secrets but what he loves even more is you smile. So, he always tried to make you laugh so he can see that beautiful smile, something he hasn't seen ever since he took you.

He doesn't expose much to you, but he can get pretty vulnerable if you let him.
He cries into your chest whenever he thinks about Ace's death, he wants your love and care, that's all he wants right now.

He'd be annoyed. Don't you see he just wants to keep you safe? The world is a dangerous place and he won't let someone as pretty as you be taken by it.
The longer you fight him the more upset he becomes. He'll just snap and punch you in the stomach, and catch you as you fall. He'll kiss you as he tied you up in ropes, a gag in your mouth and you wearing nothing but your undergarments.
"You're going to stay here until you've learned your lesson, I love you!"

Imagine being high school friends with Geto and Gojo and you three were like the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerers in your generation.
Geto and Gojo we're always obsessed with you, but Gojo lost his cool one day and almost killed you by slashing your face.
You went missing after that and after the whole Geto incident Gojo was lonely and depressed.
Geto decided to look for you and he used your vulnerability against you made you his little pet. Using the scar on your face against and saying that without him you'll get another ugly scar on you face.
He'll then comfort you when you cry and says that he didn't mean anything he said while kissing your tears away.

Imagine: Yandere Toji

Yandere Toji forcing you to take care of Megumi, who's around 4 at the time while he goes to work.
Toji likes to use you as a eye candy and he always has you dress up in skimpy clothing while there's hickeys, bruises and cuts all of you body from his abuse.
You tend to pass out a lot due to his abuse, it really took a toll on your mental and physical health. You tend to pass out when you're playing with Megumi and Megumi just ends up running to Toji so he can take care of you.
Toji spoils you and Megumi rotten. He doesn't spend a lot of time with Megumi or you, but he makes up for it in various ways.
Toji's a cheater. He doesn't even hide it from you. When you ever yell at him about it he just shrugs it off and pushes you away.
Man got gambling and alcohol addictions, and Lord help you if you argue with him about it. Expect to wake up the next morning in pain, physically sick and covered in your own blood.
He'll kill your entire family in front of you and then smirk before forcing you to clean up the mess, and if anything is left he'll punish badly.
Megumi didn't notice anything wrong until he got into like 2nd grade when heard kids talk about how their parents treated each other and he realized that something's was wrong with you and his dad's relationship. He came home the same day and asked you.
"Mommy, why does Daddy hurt you? Other kids parents don't do that."
"Mommy, why does Daddy hurt you? Other kids parents don't do that." You had to come up with ha lie just so he'd stop asking.
Megumi knows you lying, but he wants to ask Toji why he's mean to you, but ys you lying, but he wants to ask Toji why he's mean to you, but he knows you'll be to blame.

Megumi was around 8 years old when you bursted into his room late at night. He was tired and confused and barely understand what you were saying. You told that you and him were leaving, saying that Toji will hurt you both if you stayed any longer.
Toji was doing a job and wasn't going to be back until tomorrow, and it seemed like a lot of time when it wasn't. So you grabbed a duffle bag and shoved a bunch of Megumi's clothes and toys in there along with some of your stuff. You let Megumi have a little backpack full of his favorite toys and snacks while you carried the duffle.
Megumi was always a quiet kid, but he was pretty smart and he wasn't surprised you were trying to escape.
You took around 3 Million Yen and escaped the house through the window of Megumi's room, the only room in the house that wasn't guarded by a curse Toji placed there.
Toji came back the next day and he didn't see you or Megumi anywhere in sight. He instantly became full of rage and started laughing like a maniac, saying that once got his hands on you you'll basically be a walking corpse.
You didn't know where to go, you were so lost and your family and friends were dead. You lived on the streets for a few weeks, hiding in alleyways and trying your best to find a place to stay while Megumi watched.
You were terrified that Toji would find you one day and drag you back. The fear you had for poor Megumi scared you to the ☝️ int you cried, but Megumi just kisses your cheek and hugged you.
"It's gonna be ok Mommy/Daddy," Megumi said, wiping your tears away.
Years passed and life actually got better. Toji hasn't found you two yet, Megumi's in Jujutsu High School, you have a nice apartment you live in, you have a pet too! And you now have a job. Megumi likes to visit you a lot on days he doesn't have missions or when he has free time. He's always paranoid his father may come back, the father that abused you for so many years and the father that almost fucking sold him.
Toji almost forgot about you two. He only got his obsession back when he was drunk one night and after he fucked some random girl he remembered you.
Toji was out on a job and he was glancing at windows while he walked down the streets. And that's when he saw you and Megumi, Megumi's face red while you pinched his cheeks and teased him about finally warming and opening up to the teammates he supposedly ', Wouldn't get attached too'.
Toji came back that same night and woke you up with a sword to your stomach, your mouth gagged and your limbs bound.
"Ah... My cute little whore... All beautiful when submissive..." Toji said, digging his sword into your stomach slowly, causing you to scream and cry in pain.
Megumi woke up because he felt a sudden wave of strong cursed energy, something that worried him dearly. He ran to your room and saw you tied up with Toji kissing you as blood oozed from you stomach, your cries being muffled by Toji's kisses.
Megumi summoned Toad and Toad grabbed and pulled you away, Toji sighing annoyed before standing up. Your eyes held fear as you shaked, tears rolling down your face as you desperately tried to hide in Toad.
"I was really enjoying myself too... But they do say kids ruin everything," Toji said, staring into Megumi's angered eyes.
"Get. Out." Megumi said, summoning his dogs while Toji stood there amused.
"I remember back when you were little... Your mother/father would always bug me to spend time with you, I think I'll do it this time..." Toji said, before running towards Megumi with a sword in his hands.

Alright, let's talk vampires.
I think the question currently on everyone's mind is "How the fuck did they get Chuuya?" He's one of those characters that seem borderline invincible. When has anyone ever really been able to touch him? Even Shibusawa's magic bullshit fog in Dead Apple couldn't affect Chuuya, so how did Fyodor manage it?
My current theory is that the clue is his clothes.
Akutagawa gets an outfit change in the Jouno gets hatrecimed chapter, sure, but that makes sense considering he was wandering around in a torn up shirt and the vampire epidemic was a stealth takeover. The chapter where the Black Lizard gets bitten basically shows the vampire MO: one member of a squad gets bitten by someone they trusted (Higuchi by Akutagawa) and then goes to infect the rest of their squad, who is taken by surprise. Absolutely no one expects a member of their elite assassination unit to be a vampire, obviously.
And it seems that the PM operates in squads, which presumably makes the communication between squads kinda...difficult. This is great for a black ops organization like the PM because it makes information warfare that much more difficult, and terrible if there's a stealth enemy taking out entire units at a time.
However, at some point, news of the outbreak is going to make its way up the chain of command. It only takes one guy making it to the phone.
But if you were Grandpa Warcrimes attempting to get rid of a powerful enemy, this is the opposite of what you want. What you want to do is take out the most powerful players first--infect the top of the chain of command, because they're the only ones with the knowledge, authority, and communication ability to fight back against the vampires. A Port Mafia redshirt can't quarantine squads or distribute the knowledge that there even is an outbreak, much less figure out a way to defend themselves without, you know, murdering their squadmate.
What you really want is to infect Mori, Chuuya, and Kouyou: the three executives (and any others that we haven't been shown yet). Kouyou's fate is currently unknown, so let's talk Mori first.
As of that chapter where he gets Tachihara to fight Fukuchi, he's fine and uninfected. I would absolutely speculate as to his plans and motives if he wasn't, you know, playing 5D chess at all times. But if I were Mori and my plan to have Tachihara stab Fukuchi failed, I would take my executives and hole up in a bunker somewhere--where I could presumably issue orders to what PM operatives were left. But I'm not sure what other moves this man has left. Pre-BSD98 I would have said he's looking to play the Chuuya card, but, well.
And that brings us to the fandom's favorite alcoholic. This motherfucker disappears for three years of BSD updates and shows up wearing an updated, less campy version of his Fifteen outfit, looking like he's caught Akutagawa's undead strain of rabies. Why isn't he wearing his fancy gangster outfit and how did the vampires get him?
My thought? Fukuchi got him first.
Before news of the vampire outbreak got to the upper brass, before anyone really knew that the vampires are a thing--hell, maybe even before Higuchi got infected. Chuuya is the PM's ace-in-the-hole, the one you want to take out of commission before launching a coordinated biological attack on the rest of the organization. Do you want your plan to succeed? Yes? Then you need Chuuya out of the way.
This handily answers the question of "sir where the fuck have you been," by the way. "Being a vampire" is a pretty good excuse.
He's not in his usual snazzy outfit. This suggests they took him out while he wasn't on duty. Maybe he was going home for the day, or it was a weekend and he was shopping for groceries. Maybe he was just clocking in and hadn't changed yet. We know Akutagawa doesn't wear his dramatic cravat-and-coat ensemble 24/7 and wears a tracksuit when he's not on the clock, so Chuuya having an updated version of his teenage outfit makes sense.
Of course, there's the possibility that Harukawa just wanted to change things up a little and I am, as per the usual, overanalyzing. But think about it--it's a stupid idea to try and bite Chuuya while he's on the job. First of all, you would need to know where he is, which probably changes daily. But if you stalked him for long enough, you would know what his usual hours are, and where he goes after work.
Secondly, he's going to be on edge while he's working. You do not want Chuuya "My Reflexes are Good Enough to Stop Bullets" Nakahara to be alert and aware when you're trying to get within neck-biting distance. He's going to have his guard down if he's in his civvies, walking home.
Thirdly, if you get him while he's off duty?
No witnesses.
And then you can take over the rest of the PM with your funky vampire soldiers in peace, bar Kouyou and Mori. And Kajii. Isn't it funny that we don't know what the lemon guy is doing?
TLDR, Chuuya was probably one of the first people to get infected and they got him while he was off duty.

Rereading Scum Villain and there’s a part where after SQQ shoves LBH into the Endless Abyss, (and lemme tell you, that scene still hurts) he comments on how everyone thinks he’s mourning his favorite disciple. And in his head he corrects them: he’s not mourning Binghe. He knows Binghe can’t die, the narrative won’t let him (and isn’t that a fun concept to play with). He’s mourning white lotus Binghe. He’s mourning the disciple who smiled easily and shone like the sun. He’s mourning that child’s innocence and naïveté and brilliant, blinding trust, and damn if that doesn’t hit like a truck.
