El minutero corría exageradamente lento a medida que la aguja se iba acercando al final de clase. Era algo cotidiano, una extrañeza que no tenía nombre ni razón de ser, una que señalaba sin lugar a dudas que el tiempo era caprichoso y traicionero. El pasear de la profesora de izquierda a derecha y de derecha a izquierda denotaba su nerviosismo, uno que rezumaba a cada giro de cadera que llevaba a término para iniciar la caminata hacia el siguiente punto de inflexión. Las palabras que rezaba escaparon de los oídos de Amaru. Se hicieron agua al ignorarlas y se evaporaron al disponer sobre ellas su mirada. Fuera lo que fuera que estuviera narrando la profesora no era algo que interesase al deportista y, teniendo en cuenta el juego de bolitas y los susurros de algunos, la profesora tendría suerte si el número de alumnos cuyo interés captaba superaba a los dedos de una mano. El bramido de la sirena dio por terminada la clase. La profesora hizo hincapié con su tiza blanca en el texto que había escrito en la pizarra. Para la semana que viene o el día siguiente fueron palabras que muy probablemente dijo —o parecidas—: antes de marcharse del aula. Aparentemente tenía prisa, ¿para qué?, era un misterio. Amaru elevó la mirada, observando a Ivy desde su asiento. Su mano giró la hoja, poniéndola a la vista de la chica. Varias espirales se enlazaban unas a otras desde el extremo del folio, formando manos cuyos dedos, ligeramente arqueados, apuntaban hacia las alturas. Ofrecían la sensación de sostener algo entre los dedos; pese que ahí no había nada que agarrar. También instaba al observador la necesidad imperiosa de conformar el puño a fin de capturar el mismísimo aire o, quizá, algo más. Lo que era innegable era que aquel bosque de manos era extrafalario y poco convencional. —Manos —respondió de buenas a primeras antes de darle un segundo vistazo a la hoja—. Y brazos si quieres ser políticamente correcta. —Extremidades sería la palabra que englobaría todo pero, aunque quisiera pronunciarla, prefería evitar la etiqueta de asesino serial o de pertubado mental. Además para ser extremedidades debería haber dibujado pies también—. No es nada que merezca la pena admirar. —Simple, aburrido, nada que venerar o por lo que detenerse a hablar. —¿Necesitas algo? —interrogó, suponiendo que si Ivy se había detenido ahí, era porque buscaba algo. O, simplemente, esperaba a Dalton antes de marcharse. Teniendo en cuenta la capacidad para hacer y decir lo que se le viniera en gana, Amaru dudaba que estuviera ahí solo por el placer de esperar a otro.

Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Devils Lake, ND

1. LRPL Spring Book Sale

Lake Region Public Library is throwing its semi-annual spring book sale. This is the time to stock up on books, games, office supplies, and more. At the same time, the sale benefits library programming and college scholarships.

The main event is for a $5 bag and takes place on Friday, April 28 at 9:00 am through Saturday, April 29th at 5:00 pm. From there, a passive sale of what’s left will take place from May 1st through May 4th during library hours. You’ll find the spring book sale at 423 7th St NE.

2. Lake Region Heritage Center Gala

Prepare for a unique evening gala this spring with a prime rib meal, baked potatoes, and a murder mystery. This year’s annual event embraces a Whodunit theme, where you can try to solve a murder mystery. There will also be a post office box grab, a live auction, and a raffle. You’ll enjoy live music from Samantha Richards and Simon Schlenker as well.

This event will take place on May 6 at 5:30 pm. You’ll find it at the Lake Region Heritage Center at 502 4th St NE.

3. Lake Region Angler Spring Northern & Walleye Fishing Tournament

On May 20th it’ll be time for another spring tournament from the Lake Region Anglers. This is a great day to use the power tailgate in your 2023 Jeep Compass Altitude 4×4. Pack up your fishing gear, head to the lake, and enjoy the spring weather. Last year, the first-place winner took home a 33.59 lb catch!

The tournament takes place at the Creel Bay boat landing. You’ll find it at the intersection of Chatauqua Ave and Burke Blvd.

4. Kiwanis French Toast & Sausage Feed

Kiwanis is again throwing its annual breakfast fundraiser. This spring you’ll want to head downtown to 522 4th St NE to eat your fill. The event will take place on April 27th with breakfast hours happening from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Dinner hours are 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

The proceeds from this event go to the Lake Region community to help children who are in need. In addition to the food, there will be an auction taking place as well. The family tickets are being sold for $30, or $5 per individual child, and $12 for an adult.
