Vampire Fest Kinktober Day 10: Coffin Sex
Tumblr media
Forbidden Desires [AO3] Armand/Daniel - Explicit - 3,801 words
Armand gets a new coffin and Daniel wants to see it. And the room down in the cellar where Armand sleeps. Armand finally agrees and things get hot and heavy.
Written for @vampirefest' Kinktober, Day 10, "Coffin Sex." Thank you so much for hosting this event!
Excerpt:
“It’s my house. You can’t keep me out,” Daniel said. The argument was weak, he knew. The Villa and Night Island were in his name on paper, yes, but it was Armand’s creation, his design.
Armand stood rigid, his arms folded over his chest. His auburn hair had been left its natural length and curled around his pale face. “It’s for your own protection, Daniel. As I’ve explained countless times, we cannot be trusted in our sleep.”
Daniel glanced at the door behind Armand, the one that led down to the cellar and the hidden rooms verboten to him. Including the room where Armand slept during the day. The little keypad beside it sat idle. If Daniel entered the wrong code, it would blink red. Three failed attempts would lock it down for who knew how long.
“I’m not asking to go down there in the daytime,” Daniel said. He buzzed with desire and need. He’d been thinking about the rooms downstairs all day.
A new coffin had been delivered last night, the delivery men leaving the crate in the living room, believing it to be some antique valuable. Armand had moved it down below himself while Daniel had still been sleeping. He’d hadn’t even gotten to see it, only the empty crate. “I just want to see it.”
Daniel felt a soft pressure in brain: Armand in his mind. Daniel thought deliberately about how desperately he wanted to know how Armand looked in the coffin, to have a mental image of where he was during daylight hours. It was only fair, after all. Armand spent plenty of time in Daniel’s bed.
“What harm could it do?” Daniel asked.
There are lines that should not be crossed.
Daniel laughed at the thought that had come right into his mind. He couldn’t help it. Armand said the funniest things sometimes. “Christ, Armand. Your fangs are in my throat and your hand is on my cock every goddamn night, what the hell are you talking about? Lines! I’m just asking to see where you sleep.”
Armand stared for a long moment, and then dropped his arms. Daniel could see his hesitation.
“Just once,” Daniel pleaded.
Armand sighed heavily. “Fine. Once.”
Elation danced through Daniel. Finally! He’d been eager to see the cellar since they’d moved in and now finally he could see where his vampire lover slumbered when the sun came up.

Devil’s Minion Era — Show Canon with Book Canon Elements
Part IV: Neverland — 16,232 words — Mature
Warning: Some very strong homophobic language is contained in this part, along with some very strong M-rated sexual content as well.
San Francisco, California, late February 1979
Four months.
It has been over four months since all three of them had been in the same room together. For Daniel, the time between had felt like an eternity when it was happening.
And now. Armand was here. Finally here, before him again. With him and Louis again.
And it almost felt like no time had passed at all.
Almost.
Because the tension in the room spoke well as to how things had changed just within that over the four-month span of time that they had all been apart.
“When — when did you get here?” Daniel asked Armand, searching for something to say to break the tension in the room. Then, he immediately felt the stupidity of the question. Because given that it was only an hour, at most, after sunset, the most Armand could have done was come into The City the day before — and stayed somewhere else — before arriving at the house that evening.
Traveling to so many different locations all over the world with two immortals who couldn’t move during daylight hours had given Daniel extensive knowledge as to how vampires needed to travel to avoid sunlight. All Daniel had done was ask something he already most likely knew the answer to. Not really much of a tension breaker in that regard.
However, if Armand thought the question was a dull or stupid one he didn’t say so. Maybe he understood it had only been a question asked as a way for Daniel to try and navigate through the tension that hung in the room between them all like a thick cloud.
“Less than an hour ago,” Armand answered evenly. “Louis didn’t know where you had gone off to. I was going to go and look for you, but —”
“But I said you would likely be back very soon. And here you are, as I said,” Louis finished, giving them both a glance, his voice low . . . but with an edge to it that Daniel had rarely heard before. And just seemed to add to the tension already in the room.
The only place where there didn’t appear to be any tension was between Daniel and Louis. But that had probably only come from the time they had finally been able to spend together before now. Because it had hurt Daniel that Louis had left without saying goodbye to him, without telling Daniel where he was going. And if he would ever come back.
Louis’ promise to never do so again, to never leave again without giving Daniel some idea as to where to find him, had done much to mend that hurt for Daniel.
Plus, Daniel had known before he’d gone searching for Louis that Louis had not left because of anything Daniel had done. Armand had made that very clear to him when Daniel had inquired as to why Louis had been gone for so long.
Something had happened between Louis and Armand that day back in October when Louis had left. And Daniel only suspected now that it must have had something to do with Lestat de Lioncourt, given what Louis had said to Armand when he’d finally emerged from his coffin that evening.
“You kept him away from me all this time, is that it?” Louis demanded of Armand, first thing as soon as he finally emerged from his coffin.
What other ‘he’ could Louis have been talking about, really? Had Armand somehow kept Lestat from Louis in some way? And Louis somehow did not know about it?
Daniel still didn’t have all the details of what had happened, even now. And that night in October he’d been asked to leave the apartment immediately, to give Louis and Armand privacy to talk.
Given the clear fury on Louis’ face and the deadly calm of Armand’s, Daniel had felt it wise not to argue and had slowly backed out of the room and left the apartment for a few hours.
By the time Daniel had finally returned about an hour before dawn, Louis had long since left. With no word to Daniel, or any indication where he’d gone to. All Armand had done was say that Louis leaving was not him leaving him, Daniel, with his going.
Whatever had occurred between Armand and Louis that had had Louis leaving them for the time he did, (and it must have had something to do with Lestat, given Louis’ time spent in New Orleans looking for him), Daniel could see there was still some sort of simmering tension between the two vampires about it all.
“I was just over in Berkeley, at the Barb office. That’s the newspaper I’ve been working at while I’ve been here,” Daniel explained, mostly to Armand as Louis already knew about Daniel’s job. “My old friend Frank offered me a ride back here.”
Armand only gave a short nod in acknowledgment of what Daniel had said. His amber eyes never left their focus on Daniel. And it took everything in Daniel’s power not to keep his focus completely on Armand when the older vampire looked at him in that way.
As if looking into Daniel’s very soul.

The Last Night Part 1
Smoke curls from Daniel's cigarette as he lazily draws on it from the floor. The small apartment is only dimly lit with candles, and the rain is coming down hard outside. It's dark and bleak and miserable out there. It's almost romantic, being trapped in here with Armand with no power. The flames dance and cast everything with strange shadows. Armand looks as lovely as he ever has.
“Let's play a game,” Daniel suggests.
Armand looks away from the window and his face looks troubled. But the look is replaced with a smile so quickly that Daniel thinks he must have imagined it. “What sort of game, my love?”
Daniel feels a flare of warmth at the endearment. “Truth or Strip. It's like Truth or Dare, but if you don't answer you have to strip.”
“Is the aim of this game to get me to answer questions or get me naked?” Armand says, though he sounds somewhat amused.
Daniel grins and shrugs, “Either way I win.”
Armand glances back out the window. “I suppose it doesn't matter, you won't remember tomorrow anyway.”
“What? I'm not that high.” Daniel says. He's only pleasantly buzzed, feeling spacey and floaty and warm.
Armand turns and smiles at him. Daniel could swear he sees a gleam of red in his eyes. “Ask me whatever you wish, Daniel.”
Armand sits back against the wall. The studio apartment is small and has no furniture yet. Daniel had told Armand about living in one back when he was first starting out as a journalist, and Armand had wanted to try it. It's going to be cramped and Armand will be over it in two weeks, but Daniel looks forward to it. He always looks forward to these little adventures with Armand.
“Who was the first person you were ever in love with?” Daniel asks. Armand hates talking about himself, so he's going to use this opportunity. Best start with something easy.
Armand blinks. “Ah, not about how I was made into a vampire. You surprise me, Daniel.”
“Gotta soften you up first,” Daniel says. It's only half a joke. “Come on, you gotta answer or take something off.”
Armand tilts his head to the side. “Alright. It was Marius, my maker. I was fourteen or fifteen when he rescued me from the brothel. Took me into his home and taught me of the world.”
“So it was an unrequited love kinda thing?” Armand has mentioned working at a brothel before as a human. Daniel had always kind of assumed he meant as an adult. He doesn't want to think of how terrible that must have been for Armand. If this Marius guy saved him from that, no wonder he was in love with him.
Red eyes flick up to his face. “Not exactly. We soon became lovers.”
“Oh,” Daniel says flatly. He isn't sure what to say to that. “I'm sorry.”
“Don't be. I don't consider myself—what's the world you use these days—molested.” Armand's voice is neutral, casual. Daniel isn't sure if he should be looking deeper for signs of trauma. Armand continues, “Marius wounded me in many ways; that was not one.”
Daniel swallows. He doesn't exactly agree with Armand, but he isn't going to press him. If he wanted to say more on it, he would have. He puts out his cigarette and props up on an elbow. “Now you get to ask a question.”
Armand moves toward him and cups his face in his hands. “What more do I need to know, that I don't already, beloved? Nothing could make me love you more, it isn't possible.”
Daniel understands what he means. “If I loved you any more, I'd die.”
Armand's eyes flutter closed for a second and he touches their foreheads together. “Ask of me whatever you like, I'll tell you all. I give myself fully to you tonight.”
Daniel feels a sudden tightness in his chest, like he stepped outside mid winter with no shirt. He's afraid. This isn't like Armand. What's going on? “Armand?”
Armand draws back, hands still on his face. They feel cool and perfect. Normal people's hands feel too warm now.
(Once, when he and Armand were apart, Daniel dated a woman with cold hands. She had the iciest hands Daniel had ever encountered. When she touched him, he could pretend it was Armand. He had confessed this to Armand, and Armand had taken him in hand right there in the restaurant. He had used vampire fuckery to keep people from noticing.)
“Sh, darling, it's alright.” Armand kisses him softly, reassuringly. He locks eyes with Daniel. “Tonight, I'm giving you a gift. Something I didn't want to give you, but see now I must.”
Daniel's heart leaps. The Dark Gift! Armand is finally doing it! He lurches forward and kisses Armand on the mouth, again and again, until he's dizzy with it. “What made you change your mind, babe?”
Armand smiles sadly. (Why is he sad? They're going to be together forever! Is it about Louis? He'd never keep him from Louis. He likes Louis. Louis's good to Armand.)
“It's what you need to be happy. That's all I want, Daniel. For you to be happy.”

Make the Season Bright Or, A Very Chase Years Christmas [AO3]
Armand/Daniel - Explicit - 6,173 words
After four years of being chased around by Armand, things have changed… somewhat. On this last Christmas before they officially get together, Daniel finds himself in a shopping mall on Christmas Eve with his vampire stalker.
It's a holiday fic! I got to use the tag "Christmas Smut" so if nothing else, this was worth it. As you may know, I've been mildly obsessed with the Chase Years recently, so it was only fitting to write a holiday story about that time. I had a blast writing this and I hope you enjoy reading it!
Short Excerpt:
Daniel scanned the mall, looking up to the second and third floors. He thought the food court was on top, but there were restaurants on the main floor and those served alcohol. Probably a better bet. He was about to go find the directory when a flash of auburn and white caught his eye from up above. His pulse jumped. He dropped his gaze to the floor.
Maybe if he pretended he wasn’t there…
But part of him buzzed with elation and relief. Sometimes when he didn’t see the vampire for huge swaths of time, he began to doubt his sanity. Or worse, to worry that Armand had grown bored and left him for good.
He glanced back up and saw those piercing eyes staring right at him. He sighed and headed for the escalator.
Armand was leaning against the railing on the second story. He wore a soft looking brown coat—designed for warmth but not the elements—and jeans. His sneakers were scuffed. Daniel wondered what poor bastard had died to provide him with the outfit. Armand’s russet hair curled around his face, and his pale cheeks were tinged pink, as if he’d been outside too long in the cold, but Daniel knew it was from the blood he’d drunk. He swallowed, his own face flushing at the thought.
“What’s the purpose of bringing the snow inside?” Armand asked, gesturing at the giant glittery snowflakes dangling from the ceiling high above on long wires. “Isn’t the point of these holiday decorations for the light to diffuse the cold and darkness?”
Daniel had never heard anyone put it like that and for a moment, he didn’t know what to say. “They’re decorations. They’re just supposed to be pretty.” He looked up at them. From here, it was much easier to see the glittery designs. “Not everything has a purpose.”
Armand rolled his eyes, a gesture that was so human—so youthful—it took Daniel back. He let go of the railing. “It does when it’s deliberately displayed.”
“Well, the purpose here is to make the mall inviting and nice looking so people stay and buy more shit,” Daniel said.
Armand stared at him for a long moment with those big, amber eyes. Daniel could feel the heat of his gaze cutting into him. “Is that why you’re here? What ‘shit’ are you buying?”
Daniel laughed. He always found it a little funny when Armand swore or used modern slang. It always sounded slightly off, like an alien trying to imitate human culture. “I’m here because some psychotic vampire is chasing me around and this is where I landed. Like a moth, I headed to the brightest building.”
Armand frowned deeply, though whether he was actually offended or just considering Daniel’s words, he could never really tell. Armand was an enigma. He stood silent and unreadable as a statue. Finally, he said, “I’m not psychotic.”
Daniel laughed again. That wasn’t a debate he was prepared to have. “I’m teasing. It’s kind of funny, you know? You following me around like you do, and here we are on Christmas Eve in a gaudy, brightly lit shopping mall. Not exactly where I thought my pursuit of vampires would take me.”

I have personal beef with these two shots because why does Armand’s hair look different?
Is it intentional? Is it a continuation mistake? Did something happen to make it less/more fluffy?
Their clothes and sitting positions look the same, or am I tripping?
What is happening and who is responsible?

Here's one of my favorite Daniel Molloy quotes from QotD (and fuck, there's so many to chose from):
I like kissing. And snuggling with dead things, yes, hold me.
He's dying in Armand's arms, delirious and thinking about how much he likes kissing and 'snuggling with dead things' — it's actually incredibly sweet and wholesome, all things considered! Daniel had definitely snuggled with dead things (Armand) enough times during their near decade together:
His [Armand's] skin was burning hot in those early hours, his face full of passionate curiosity, his embraces feverish and quick.
Once he'd reached out, held Armand with all his strength, and tried to gash the skin of his throat. Armand had been so patient, making the tear for him, and letting him close his mouth on it for the longest time-yes, this-then guiding him gently away.
No resolution in words was ever reached. It would end with the embrace, the kiss, the blood stinging him, the shroud of dreams closing over him like a great net, hunger! I love you! Give me more! Yes, more. But never enough.
It's remarkable because the Devil's Minion chapter is such a brief, condensed snippet of their relationship, but at the same time it really manages to tell us everything, doesn't it?

So, this is the first fanfic I’ve written in over 18 years.
Yeah, that’s right, 18 years.
I’ve had writer’s block when it comes to writing fiction — any fiction — for almost two decades now. And if it wasn’t for @faerywhimsy reading my early attempt at this story, (after I had basically abandoned it), and not only giving me encouragement but being a great sounding board as well as beta reader, this story wouldn’t have gotten this far at all; where I’ve actually written such a large chunk of it that it’s very close to finished and I can finally start posting it.
So here it is, one of the reasons why I’ve been so quiet on Tumblr lately. Because I’ve been focused on writing this.
This is Part 1 of a total of 3 Parts. And the idea for this all came from reading the LinkedIn page the tv show set up for Daniel, and the one thing of note they had him list that he wrote in all of the 1970s. Everything else blew up from there.
Parts 2 and 3 are tentatively scheduled to be posted every two weeks apart starting from today, on Monday around 2 pm PDT.
Please enjoy and any and all feedback would be much appreciated!

Title: Now or Neverland
Pairings: Armand/Daniel, Daniel/Louis, Armand/Daniel/Louis, Armand/Louis (background)
Devil’s Minion Era — Show Canon with Book Canon Elements
Part I: Now — 9964 words — Mature
Berkeley, California, mid-January 1979
The first time Daniel had run off, (without being told to run first), he’d had no idea where he was going. Even the act of running itself had been a spur-of-the-moment thing, nothing on him but a few bills in his back pocket, that he’d taken from the dresser and stuffed in there as he’d left the apartment.
He’d only been gone for a little over a week before Armand had come and brought him home, Daniel sobbing into the phone as he’d finally broken down and made the call.
This was now the furthest — and longest time — he’d run away. And he’d run to the place where they had first met on the other side of the country.
It was now getting closer to three months since Daniel had left. And he was once more very close to breaking down again and calling Armand, even if it was only via his mind this time.
Either way, Armand would hear and come for him. He always did, when Daniel called. And he would scold Daniel gently in that soft voice that never failed to draw Daniel back in.
(Why do you run from me, Daniel? . . . I’d do anything for you, Daniel . . . You are mine, beautiful boy . . .)
When the emotions and longing for him had become too overwhelming at the end of 1978, Daniel had fallen off the cold turkey quit he’d done for harder drugs and tried to dull that ache. That longing. For Armand. For his blood.
And the black tar heroin he’d taken had done the trick, for a time.
But Carly and Pedro had not charged cheaply for it, and Daniel had run out of what little cash he’d had to afford it again back in December, on New Year’s Eve.
So he’d spent the last waning hours of 1978 clinging to the best high he could get, trying to numb himself and forget there was an even better one to be had.
And all he needed to do was call out for it.
For him.
Yet here he was, a few weeks later, still in the same place. No cash. No high. Nothing but a sore back from sleeping on Frank’s old, lumpy couch.
And the longing, the ache in his chest that threatened to overwhelm him if he focused on it, and the why of it, for too long.
(“Our good boy,” Louis murmured softly as Daniel lay, spent and exhausted, two pairs of bare and strong arms and legs encircling him. It was a treat these times, when it was the three of them together like this, and Daniel had always been allowed to drink from both of them on such nights.)
Daniel pulled the old winter coat Frank had lent him closer around himself as his body shivered. From his thoughts, the longings he was feeling, the cold weather, or all three, he couldn’t say.

Alright y'all - this fic and series is now complete.
I felt a lot of feelings writing this, and I know it took a minute (see: 8 months) to post this final chapter. But I wanted to get my story done before S2's premiere next week and so, yeah. I hope you enjoy.
Expect lots of hurt in this one. I'm sorry. But also, it ends on a hopeful note, so there's that?
Anyways, I love you all. Thanks for tagging along as I wrote this thing. ❤️️
