Miro durante horas mi obra. La habitación se queda apenas sin luz. Hace semanas meses que no trabajo en ellas y sin embargo ellas siguen trabajando en mi. Me encanta verlas, me reconozco sin ser yo su autor, como si una mano adormecida las hubiera pintado. Disuelto es como el artista entra en una obra que solo puede ser del tiempo. …… Miro. Enfosqueix l’habitació el pas de les hores. Veig els traços dessats dies enrera. Fa massa temps que no pinto però l’obre segueix fent-se. fine morn[in]g F[ahrenheit] 75° at 9 1/2 a.m.  off fr[om] chez Dessat hot[e]l de L’Ecu de Fr[an]ce Clermont at 1 1/2 –
comf[orta]ble here in spi[te] of the fair and the heat – the whi[te] hills as we go along cov[ere]d w[i]th vines – Clerm[on]t
nice town – all the count[r]y m[i]ght ha[ve] been at the fair – abund[an]ce of hides (untann[e]d) to be sold, and
all sorts of cattle, and wear[in]g appar[e]l and ev[er]y]th[in]g -   Riom largeish straggl[in]g town ‘la plus jolie ville
de l’Auvergne, Itin[érair]e C. 115 – handso[me] boulev[ar]d b[u]t saw no partic[ula]r beauty in the town – pass[e]d close
by the pa[lai]s, a large plain b[u]t n[o]t handso[me] build[in]g – nice fine op[e]n corn-count[r]y fr[om] Riom w[i]th ver[y]

Gölcük - Degirmendere depreminin
22. yıldönümü dalışı.
17 Ağustos 1999, sabaha karşı Gölcük merkezli 7.4 büyüklüğünde ve 45 saniye süren deprem, Kocaeli, Adapazarı, Yalova, Bursa ve İstanbul'da 18.000’den fazla insanımızın canını aldı. Yıkılan evler, yollar, köprüler yeniden yapıldı, yerleşim bölgelerinde depremin yıkıntıları ortadan kaldırıldı ama, Değirmendere’nin denizaltına çöken kısmı depremin izlerini olduğu gibi koruyor. Travmaları ise halen o dönemi yaşayan insanlarımızın belleklerinde yaşamaya devam ediyor.
Depremden 6 yıl sonra 2005 yılında kurulan Değirmendere Spor Sualtı Topluluğu (DESSAT)’ın kuruluşundan beri düzenli olarak o bölgede dalışlar yapıyorum.
17 Ağustos’u anmak amacıyla bu hafta Dessat’ın kurucusu kadim dostum Murat Kulakaç hocam ile yaptığımız dalışlardan bir kaç fotoğrafı paylaşıyorum. 36 yıldır yurtiçi ve yurtdışında binlerce dalış yaptım ama, Değirmendere’de yaptığım dalışlarda gördüklerim hiç bir dalışıma benzemiyor.
Fay hattının üzerinde bulunan ve doğal olarak en çok etkilenen Gölcük - Değirmendere’de sahil olduğu gibi denize çöktü.
Çökmenin etkisi ile Çınarlık Meydanı, Park, Sahil Yolu, Vapur iskelesi, çay bahçesi, üç katlı Çınar Oteli, Avcılar Kulübü, Restaurant, Arabalar, Evler, ev eşyaları, mutfak malzemeleri, çocuk oyuncakları, 20 ila 55 metre derinlikler arasında denizin dibine dağılmış durumdalar.
Artık denizin derinliklerinde olan çınarlar, çoğu devrilmiş ve kökleri dışarı çıkmış durumda zeminde yatarlarken, 2 çınar ağacı 30 metre derinlikte yapraklarını ve ince dallarını yıllar evvel kaybetseler de köklerinin üzerinde heybetli gövdeleri ve ana dalları ile depreme ve yıllara meydan okurcasına su altında dimdik durmaya devam ediyorlar.
Her dalış anılarla ve düşüncelerle dolu, yaşananların hüznü, yaşanacakların endişe ve korkusu tüm benliğimizi kaplıyor.
Evet 17 Ağustos depremi sonrası görünen yaralar sarılmış gibi. Ama beklenen Marmara Depremi kapıda. Yaşananlardan ders aldık mı? İstanbul Depremine hazır mıyız?
