@vergerp is an 18+ original, jcink premium, semi-directive plot rp intended to celebrate and unite black roleplayers who enjoy adding supernatural elements to a story, tinkering with magic and messing with fire. Look forward to fun drama, good character development and a plot that never stops evolving.
Hi! I'm looking for a male/masculine presenting/nonbinary fc with an 80s aesthetic, if you know of any good ones? Preferably with curly or wavier hair, other than that I really dont mind!

these are from fairly recent shows set in the 80s. i don't feel comfortable recommending any cast members who were minors at the time of filming. keep in mind - these all have curly hair (for the most part) but i'm not sure if their resources are adequate.
Dear White People (2017) centers around black students at a prestigious Ivy League university. Race relations are tense between white and black students due to a talk show called Dear White People ran by a black student. An invitation goes out for a retaliation party called Dear Black People where may students show up in blackface. The show follows different black students on campus and explores different aspects of identity beyond race. It also discusses intersections of activism and what that looks like for different students.
One of the main characters, Samantha White, is biracial. Because she runs the talk show Dear White People, and is a main activist on campus, her identity as biracial did not seem to be a source of invalidation in the pilot episode. She has a very large involvement with black activism on the campus, and she only mentions being biracial when her white boyfriend is subject to ridicule from her peers. Sometimes TV shows can heavily emphasize how being biracial can make characters seem "not fully black" and the first few episodes did not do this.
The show begins to explore intersectionality in the second episode as it centers around Lionel Higgins, a character who does not subscribe to labels. He struggles with his sexuality and the implications it has for how he fits in at the university. In the show, the viewer watches Lionel experience homophobia in the past and casually at university. His struggle with his sexuality makes it difficult for him to relate to his more masculine and straight peers. His peers are quick to try to force labels onto him and to make him explore his sexuality.
This show speaks of what it means to be a modern-day activist. Within the first few episodes, the characters are battling microaggressions and blatant racism. Some of the black students on campus speak of a revolution while others want to follow systems in place to report and create change. There are multiple approaches that the TV series explores, and the first few episodes make you sympathetic to more radical causes for change. Because the university is inherently a white institution, it does not do a good job protecting minority communities on campus. This show sparked controversy for the name itself and how race is portrayed. When reading the reviews on IMBD, there are many reviews calling it “woke” or “liberal garbage” or other negative and angry words. It also sparks criticism from black viewers too. This show explores what it is like to be a minority in a white institution, and how multiculturalism exists within a culture.

Throwback Fit Kit doesn’t have eighties vibes enough for me so I’ve made a lookbook with my favorite CC from this era using American Horror History 1984 characters as models. Are you also an 80′s lover? 🕺

Lionel was OBVIOUSLY attracted to Troy... I mean who wasn’t! The writers could have had them hook up or whatever. Instead he showcased a beautiful bromance between a straight black man and a black gay man. that was dope!
