Just finished "Dead End: Paranormal Park", it's so fucking good. And I'm surprised that it gives me vibes of Gravity Falls, The Owl House, The Ghost And Molly McGee, Adventure Time & Inside Job combined, in my opinion.

Please, by any chance, give this show a chance/shot to watch. And note that there are LGBTQ+ characters in it, especially my trans man Barney :)

I have a thought.

Spoilers ahead.

When we were first introduced to Courtney, we assumed that she had been banished from the underworld and forced to stay on earth until a stronger demon let her return. We assumed that she had been in the underworld before the series began, but given what we learned about Courtney in the last two episodes, I believe that her going down there after betraying the gang, was the very first time she'd ever been in the underworld.

She always said that she wanted to go home, so we assumed that she had a place and a family to return to, but when she got down there, Courtney didn't trying to go to any home or look for any demons like her. Instead she just wandered around like a tourist visiting a city for the first time.

We also learn that the cuffs on Courtney's wrists were made by angels, not demons, which Courtney was unaware of and genuinely thought they were demon made. So it's likely that Courtney was possibly on earth for a long time before the series began and before she wasn't allowed to go to the underworld.

Then at the end of episode ten, we see our first angel, or what we believe to be an angel, who is able to teleport in a shiny cloud like Courtney does. We never saw another demon do that except her.

So this might be a bit obvious, but I'm going to put it out there just in case I'm wrong. I believe that Courtney might be a hybrid of demon and angel. Clearly physically taking the appearance of a demon, but having some powers that as far as we know, only belong to angels. I also believe that the reason Courtney was kept on earth like she was, not able to use the elevator to go down or up, was because her existence is seen as forbidden and if anyone in either realm found out what she really was, Courtney would be in serious danger.

Courtesy herself was completely oblivious to any type of connection to angels, implying that she was always lead to believe that she was just a regular demon, which would be easy given her appearance. And since she didn't know that many other demons, and likely never met an angel, she just assumed that of course there are other demons who have powers like her.

We saw that she read every book on demons she could obtain, but when she says this, we get the implication that these books and the few other demons that occasionally come up to earth, are the only way she's ever been able to know about other demons.

I believe this implies that Courtney was probably born on earth, not in the underworld like we first thought.

I really hope this is addressed in the second season (and that there is a second season) because if I'm right, this could be really interesting.

Aaaahhhhh I just watched the first episode of Dead End: Paranormal Park (on Netflix) and I loved it! Cute, funny, spooky, queer animation. I'm having A Day and it cheered me up so much. I love animated and voiced Courtney as much as illustrated Courtney, which is a lot. I must cosplay her.
