⭐ MY GEM COLLECTION ⭐
Over the past couple of years, I've designed a bunch of Gem Original Characters - some of which were inspired by Gems that exist within the canon of "Steven Universe"; some of which are a part of the "Gem Galaxies" game; some of which which are designed by other artists and some of which were designed independently by me!
So I thought I might as well chuck up my whole collection so far! Hopefully by the end of 2024, I'll have a whole new bunch of these wee guys.
In chronological order of design, I have:

Defective Spinels for you
Honnel-
there's... probably a lot of bee-themed honey spinels, but I couldn't help myself when the idea popped into my head the one day.
And yeah, of course she's a defective gem [her being a stout shape unlike normal spinels that have lean, cartoon-y shapes and she's about an inch shorter than amethyst] and her only effective weapon is her stinger she got from her corruption.
personality wise; she's one-dimensional. she's a shy, self-conscious bean.
she's fully capable of flight and she can sting repeatedly.
she hardly talks, but if she does chose to speak to you, her voice is child-like, like past spinel only it lacks energy and is more placid and has a faint southern accent to it.

I don't know why I keep making "defective" gems, but here's another one for ya.
this is essentially a baby/toddler gem only she's still got the smarts of any other gem. she speaks broken English to the point it's difficult to understand her. [a.k.a toddler talk] because of this she just doesn't talk.
she's about the same size as onion, and like honnel, she can't stretch or shape-shift. as for her weapon, it can ALSO shoot energy beams, but she can also use the horn as a blade and use it to glide short distances, almost like a witch's broomstick, but it's only about 3 feet off the ground. golly I'm so gosh darn creative
I mean, she's a spinel, her type is made for entertainment. but she was used more to offer comfort/was a living plushie.
ridiculous maybe, but it works for me.
I'm yet to see a stick horse weapon and I wanted to see if I could make it work.

Gemcrust fan art!
Posting this since I'm not sure if my other post showed up.
I'm a HUGE fan of Gemcrust's SU artwork, so I fiugred I'd make some fan art of his fan art. My headcanon is that these two defective cuties managed to avoid the imprisonment of the Rose Quartzes since they were overcooked and didn't leave the kindergarten where they were made, but still got corrupted when the Diamonds attacked Earth. Pearl, Steven, and Amethyst would be the ones to go capture them and it would be kind traumatic for all three of them.
Obviously they're far from perfect, but I think they're pretty good for Gemsona maker

I have no evidence for this other than vibes and a deep sense of certainty, but teen skk 100% pierced each others ears. It was an act of violence with sewing needles a la Parent Trap. It started as a dare and neither of them were willing to back down and they both (but especially Dazai) complained incessantly about the pain (because they've both experienced much worse and it's fun to act like that isn't the case for a few moments)
#dazai only let chuuya pierce one of his ears claiming that he didn't trust him to make them even#but really he just wanted to be able to hide it under his dumb eye-patch bandage#for where they got the earrings it was either a single pair stolen from kouyo (by dazai) and split between them#or a relic from when either of them were in charge of the gem business#like something very expensive#for giggles#you get to decide what happened to them after dazai defected#bungo stray dogs#soukoku#please do not perceive this they have simply consumed my brain

Steven Universe AU where when a human comes into contact with an unemerged gem, the gem becomes a hybrid like Steven. Between the gem it's supposed to be, and the human who touched it. So that way Steven isn't the only one and those hybrids can become a New Breed.

hey so, you know how jasper has perfectly aligned, straight teeth? and is similar to the shape of bricks which is mildly unsettling?
well, Peebles is literally defective parody of her, so of course she's got jagged, misaligned fangs that jut from her mouth. which is mostly hidden like hello kitty's

here, we have jasper, either trying to intimidate her, or teach her how to be fierce.
however, Peebles' thought process is as good as internet explorer, so she misinterpreted this as a way of smiling or showing teeth.
either way, she passed the intimidation test with flying colors.

Redesigned by old Steven Universe Idea for a gem aka Brass

They are Low Ranking Musical Gems They normally play in bands for high ranking Gem parties and events but they can play alone
They mostly Play Jazz Music and are based off Jazz and Brass Instruments but they can sing too
They above nearly above pearls in rankings
but honestly...
it isn't much better but they try to manage
I got more info for them I just writing it still

I think both of them would militia Gems of some kind! Namely Quartzes! S Broly would be an Aventurine and Yamcha would be a Smoky Quartz!
In game blurbs about both Quartz types under cut
