I honestly think people give Goku too much crap for not “understanding Gohan” in the cell saga. Like ya, it was kinda his fault to an extent, but look at it from Goku’s pov:

In the saiyan saga, Gohan came back to help fight even after Goku said to stay away

Gohan begged to go to Namek to get his friends back, even yelling at his own mother to do so

Gohan refused to leave at first when Goku went super saiyan, saying he wanted to help Goku fight Frieza

Gohan trained with him and piccolo for three straight years and was happy with it

Gohan trained with Goku in the time chamber and trained so hard that he unlocked a form even Goku hadn’t

Gohan *yelled* at Goku because he thought Goku was going easy on him during training. I think this one is a BIG thing people miss

I think some people forget that we’re viewing these characters from an outside lens. Goku doesn’t know what Gohan went through when training with Piccolo (cause he DIED protecting him). The FIRST time someone tells Goku Gohan actually doesn’t like fighting, is in the Cell saga when Gohan is literally in the middle of the fight with Cell (correct me if I’m wrong but I think this is right). There’s a reason he looks so genuinely surprised when Piccolo says this. And when this happens, Goku immediately steps up and tries to stop the fight.

I’m just saying, if I was in Goku’s shoes, I don’t think it would have crossed my mind that Gohan doesn’t like fighting either.

Also, a decade after Goku found this out, he still takes it into account whenever he asks Gohan about something related to fighting. I’d say now in the story, he knows Gohan fairly well

Future Trunks' Appearances

Future Trunks to me is one of the hottest male characters in DBZ! Also he has been shown to have long and short hair. So I wanted to do my own personal ranking of Trunks' outfits (excluding his looks in the History of Trunks special).

Number 5: Short hair, battle armor

This has to be Trunks' worst look. It's not ugly but it just looks a bit ridiculous to me. He looks a bit dorky, to be honest like he's playing dress up. Especially since he looks so boyish.

Number 4: Long hair, battle armor

I think Trunks looks way better in his armour when he has longer hair. All those shots in the Cell games where Trunks' hair is waving in the wind are so gorgeous. Made him look pretty. Maybe the longer hair complements his muscles better by not making his head seem so small. I love this look but I hate how Trunks is so freakishly huge for a good part of his time wearing it. The armour does not really feel like Trunks either. I think his Earthling clothes fit him better.

Number 3: Long hair, casual clothes (Pre cell games)

I had to add this because Trunks just looks so cute in this simple outfit. His face is these shots is super soft, making him look a bit innocent. Love it!

Number 2: Long jacket sleeves (Cell saga, Broly movie)

I can't decide between long hair and short hair Trunks for this look. Sometimes the animation makes short hair Trunks look a bit dorky though. But this is Future Trunks' iconic look. No one else can pull off this fashion disaster (coming from someone who knows squat about clothes lol).

Number 1: Long hair, short jacket sleeves (Bojack movie)

Just look at him!!! Talk about leaving the franchise in style! The dude's muscles are so huge at this point that Trunks ditches sleeves altogether. Gosh he's hot :''). From what I have seen, many people agree this is Trunks' best look.

Speaking of, do you think if Trunks had a tail, it would be the standard brown or the same-ish color as his hair? Cause we only see dark haired saiyans with brown tails up close iirc, but trunks has light blue hair, on account of his human side. I think his tail should be that sweet lilac color he had in the original dbz anime like a shiny pokémon

You're so correct about this. We deserved to have the clownery of Vegeta's tail betraying his emotions, among other things. I like that in both the OGDB anime with Goku and in the Saiyan saga with Vegeta, their tails poof up when they're angry!

Trunks' tail being a different-yet-still-unrealistic color from his unrealistically-colored hair is actually something I'd never considered and now I'm obsessed with the idea. Body hair and head hair are rarely the exact same color. If we wanted to get really realistic with it maybe his tail would be a darker, muddier blue or violet? The anime would probably just officially make it brown for simplicity's sake but that's the coward's take and I don't accept it.
