Okay, I want to talk about the Daughters of Ferrix - and about how the moment I knew the Imperial officers stationed on Rix Road were fucked was when that guy referred to them as a “social club.”
It’s not only a demonstration of the arrogance Cassian and Luthen attribute to the Empire (the way they overlook what they think is beneath them, as both Clem and Nemik suggest); it’s also such a blinkered, gendered view of how power works, because in so many scenes leading up to Maarva’s speech, we’ve seen Jezzi and the Daughters arranging for Maarva to get visits from her doctor, to get meal deliveries, to get access to warmer housing. We’ve seen Brasso and Bix checking in on Maarva and taking care of her, despite, as they point out, the lack of any nuclear-family ties. We’ve seen the Daughters come to collect Maarva’s body and make sure her belongings are preserved for Cassian.
And that’s a key part of the power that Ferrix builds in the uprising on Rix Road: a part that the Imperials completely miss. It’s not oppression and misery alone that make people rise up; it also takes care. Before the first brick gets thrown, there are years and years of care.

Coming soon, y’all! I’ll be having a pretty decent sale for My the 4th as well as some new products!
The red/maroon design is inspired by Andor and the planet Ferrix. The acrylic charm (holo on one side) is the Ferrix Honor Guard logo. The lanyard reads STONE AND SKY in the larger Aurebesh font and the smaller Aurebesh reads FERRIX - MORLANI SYSTEM.
The blue design is inspired by Bo-Katan and The Mandalorian. The lanyard features the Nite Owls crest in several colors with a smattering of stars. The acrylic charm (holo on one side) is also the Nite Owls crest.
I have more lanyard keychains on the way. I love that these are the perfect length to slip over your wrist. So you don’t leave your keys on the counter at the grocery store. Not that I’ve ever done that.
I’m so thrilled about how these came out. I also have some very goofy glup shitto crush stickers coming and some Rogue One themed acrylic pins and some Hera and Ahsoka stuff. I just want to make y’all things that bring you joy. Because the world is ending. Fanfic and fan merch is how we survive.
As always, shop is here.

in between, there are doors
Until she had been tortured, Bix hadn’t believed she had a soul. It wasn’t the sort of question that concerned her, one she left to droids and the elder Daughters, but after the first screams, she did not simply believe, she knew. After, in that time that was called after but was only later, she could not pray but she came as close as she could to wishing, to send forth her soul to a place beyond, a time before or so far in the future it had become quiet, to count the bricks and know herself among her people.

extremely entertained by the idea of cassian andor as a man raised in part by a social club/mutual aid organisation composed mostly of older women who ends up becoming one of the galaxy’s most important intelligence collectors and operatives

Aww, not-Alfred Molina is so nice to Bee.
Bee’s sad about Maarva.

The fact that Maarva never knew that Cassian helped to steal thousands of credits from the empire and helped to free thousands of prisioners from the empire.
