Taylor Swift’s Midnights is off to a record-breaking start in the U.S. after its first day in release.
According to initial reports to Luminate, the album, which was released on Oct. 21, has sold more than 800,000 copies in the U.S. through its first day across all available formats (multiple digital album download, CD, vinyl and cassette variants). It has already logged the largest sales week for any album since 2017, is the top-selling album of 2022 year-to-date, and has set a modern-era record for single-week vinyl album sales.

Luminate’s data powers Billboard’s weekly charts.
2022’s Top-Selling Album After One Day: Midnights’ initial sales sum already makes it the biggest-selling album of 2022 year-to-date. Previously, 2022’s top-selling album, year-to-date, was Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, with 620,000 copies sold through the week ending Oct. 13.
It’s assumed that Midnights’ sales figure will increase in the coming days, as the tracking week ends on Thursday, Oct. 27. The set’s final sales number is expected to be announced on Sunday, Oct. 30, along with its expected large debut on the multi-metric Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Nov. 4). If Midnights debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it will mark Swift’s 11th chart-topping effort.
Biggest Sales Week for Any Album Since Swift’s reputation in 2017: With just one day of sales, Midnights logs the largest sales week for any album in the U.S. since Swift’s own reputation debuted with 1.216 million copies sold in its first week (ending Nov. 16, 2017).
Reputation was also the last album to sell more than 1 million copies in a single week in the U.S., a feat that has become difficult to achieve in recent years as consumers transition to consuming music through streaming services. (Yearly U.S. album sales decreased in every year from 2012-2020.)
Modern-Era Vinyl Sales Record: Further, Midnights handily breaks the modern-era record for single-week vinyl album sales in the U.S., with over 400,000 copies sold so far. That’s the largest week for an album on vinyl since Luminate began tracking music sales in 1991. It surpasses the previous high, set earlier this year, when Harry’s House debuted with 182,000 vinyl copies (week ending May 26, 2021).
Midnights’ overall initial sales figures include any pre-orders of the album that were fulfilled to the customer through Oct. 21, as well as traditional in-store sales that were generated on the day of release.
Midnights arrived after months of pre-release promotion and pre-orders – and its initial sales figure is bolstered by an array of available versions and variants of the album.

Taylor Swift scores one of the most historic weeks in the 64-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, as she becomes the first artist to claim the survey’s entire top 10 in a single frame.
Tumblr media
Swift surpasses Drake, who logged nine of the Hot 100’s top 10 for a week in September 2021.
Leading the way for Swift on the Hot 100, “Anti-Hero” launches at No. 1, marking her ninth career leader.
All 10 songs in the Hot 100’s top tier are from Swift’s new LP Midnights, which, released Oct. 21 on Republic Records, blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with the biggest week for any release in seven years.
Swift also surges past Drake and The Beatles for the most titles from the top of the Hot 100 in a single week, as her monopoly of the top 10 bests those acts, each of whom infused the top five for a week each in 2021 and 1964, respectively.
Meanwhile, as Swift adds 10 new Hot 100 top 10s, she now boasts the most top 10s among women in the chart’s history, with 40 (surpassing Madonna’s 38). Among all acts, she trails only Drake (59 top 10s).
Plus, Midnights becomes the first album ever with as many as 10 Hot 100 top 10s, besting the nine from Drake’s Certified Lover Boy in 2021.
The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. All charts (dated Nov. 5, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Nov. 1). For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.
Here’s a rundown of Swift’s unprecedented week on the Hot 100.
Top 10: Streams, Airplay & Sales
As Swift swoops in with a clean sweep of the Hot 100’s top 10, here’s a look at the songs’ official streams, radio airplay and sales in the U.S. in the Oct. 21-27 tracking week that drove their chart debuts:
Rank, Title: Streams / Airplay Audience / Sales:
No. 1, “Anti-Hero”: 59.7 million streams / 32 million in airplay audience / 13,500 sold
No. 2, “Lavender Haze”: 41.4 million / 2.4 million / 2,800
No. 3, “Maroon”: 37.6 million / 471,000 / 2,900
No. 4, “Snow on the Beach,“ feat. Lana Del Rey: 37.2 million / 615,000 / 2,600
No. 5, “Midnight Rain”: 36.9 million / 449,000 / 2,200
No. 6, “Bejeweled”: 35.5 million / 1.6 million / 16,100
No. 7, “Question…?”: 31 million / 425,000 / 21,400
No. 8, “You’re on Your Own, Kid”: 34.1 million / 498,000 / 1,500
No. 9, “Karma”: 33 million / 1.9 million / 3,400
No. 10, “Vigilante Shit”: 32.2 million / 424,000 / 6,400
With her total takeover of the Hot 100’s top 10 (with assistance from Lana Del Rey at No. 4), Swift passes Drake, who claimed nine of the top 10 (all except for No. 6) on the chart dated Sept. 18, 2021, when nine songs, all from his album Certified Lover Boy, bounded into the region, led by “Way 2 Sexy,” featuring Future and Young Thug, at No .1, as the set opened atop the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, Swift passes Drake and The Beatles for the most titles from the top of the Hot 100 in a single week. Before Drake’s top five tally on Sept. 18, 2021, The Beatles held Nos. 1-5 on the chart dated April 4, 1964.
Swift’s Nine Hot 100 No. 1s
Here’s a recap of Swift’s nine Hot 100 No. 1s, notched over a span of just over 10 years:
“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” three weeks at No. 1, beginning Sept. 1, 2012
“Shake It Off,” four weeks, beginning Sept. 6, 2014
“Blank Space,” seven weeks, beginning Nov. 29, 2014
“Bad Blood,” feat. Kendrick Lamar, one week, June 6, 2015
“Look What You Made Me Do,” three weeks, beginning Sept. 16, 2017
“Cardigan,” one week, Aug. 8, 2020
“Willow,” one week, Dec. 26, 2020
“All Too Well (Taylor’s Version),” one week, Nov. 27, 2021
“Anti-Hero,” one week to-date, Nov. 5, 2022
Swift becomes one of 16 acts with nine or more Hot 100 No. 1s, and one of seven solo women, joining Mariah Carey (19), Rihanna (14), Madonna (12), Whitney Houston (11), Janet Jackson (10) and Katy Perry (nine). The Beatles lead all acts with 20 Hot 100 No. 1s.
Swift’s Fifth No. 1 Hot 100 Debut
Swift debuts atop the Hot 100 with a fifth title, as “Anti-Hero” (the 64th single to enter at No. 1) follows the chart-topping premieres of “Shake It Off,” “Cardigan,” “Willow” and “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).” With her latest, she ties Ariana Grande for the most No. 1 entrances among women.
Overall, Drake leads with seven No. 1 Hot 100 debuts, followed by BTS, Grande, Swift (five each) and Justin Bieber (four).
Record-Extending Simultaneous Billboard 200 & Hot 100 debuts
Thanks to Midnights and “Anti-Hero,” Swift is the first artist to have debuted atop the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously as many as four times. (The Billboard 200 began on March 24, 1956, and the Hot 100, on Aug. 4, 1958.)
Swift became the first act to launch with such a double when Folklore and “Cardigan” began atop the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively, on Aug. 8, 2020. She repeated the feat with Evermore and “Willow” (Dec. 26, 2020) and Red (Taylor’s Version) and “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” (Nov. 27, 2021).
Drake, with two, is the only other act with multiple such simultaneous starts on the surveys.
Top 10 Streamed, Sold Songs Are by Swift
As on the Hot 100, Swift holds the entire top 10 on Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts. Swift is the first artist to triple up with the top 10 on all three charts simultaneously; no other act had previously claimed Nos. 1-10 in a single week on the Hot 100 or Digital Song Sales, while only Drake had swept the tier on Streaming Songs (Sept. 18, 2021).
“Anti-Hero” debuts at No. 1 on Streaming Songs with the biggest streaming week for a song (59.7 million) in 2022, passing Jack Harlow’s “First Class” (54.6 million; April 23). No song has logged more weekly streams since Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy” soared in with 67.3 million (Sept. 18, 2021).
Swift adds her sixth Streaming Songs No. 1, tying Bieber for the second-most, after Drake’s 14.
On Digital Song Sales, Swift’s “Question…?” debuts at No. 1, marking her record-extending 24th leader. (Rihanna ranks second with 14.) Helping its coronation, “Question…?” was made available for sale in Swift’s webstore on the last day of the chart’s tracking week (Oct. 27) in its original and instrumental form, each for 69 cents, as was “Bejeweled,” new at No. 4 on Digital Song Sales.
Notably, the streams for Swift’s songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 were strong enough that all 10 tracks would’ve ranked in the region even without any chart points from sales or radio airplay.
‘Anti-Hero’ Roars at Radio
Speaking of radio reach, “Anti-Hero,” the first promoted single from Midnights, debuts at No. 13 on Radio Songs, the highest debut this year and Swift’s best opening rank among 45 career entries.
The song concurrently places at No. 11 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, No. 13 on Adult Contemporary and No. 16 on Pop Airplay following its first full week of availability.
Swift Up to 40 Hot 100 Top 10s, the Most Among Women
By instantly adding 10 Hot 100 top 10s, Swift now sports the second-most, 40, in the chart’s history. Previously tied with Michael Jackson, Swift leapfrogs Madonna – as she now claims the most top 10s among women – The Beatles and Rihanna.
Swift first hit the Hot 100’s top 10 with “Love Story” on the chart dated Oct. 4, 2008.
Most Billboard Hot 100 Top 10s:
59, Drake
40, Taylor Swift
38, Madonna
34, The Beatles
31, Rihanna
30, Michael Jackson
29, Elton John
28, Mariah Carey
28, Stevie Wonder
27, Janet Jackson
26, Justin Bieber
25, Lil Wayne
25, Elvis Presley (with the start of Presley’s career having predated the Hot 100’s inception)
Similar to Swift’s timeline, Drake earned the first of his record 59 top 10s in July 2009 and most recently ranked in the bracket this August.
Midnights Clocks Most Hot 100 Top 10s From an Album
Upon its chart start, Swift’s Midnights becomes the first album to generate as many as 10 Hot 100 top 10s. It passes Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, which landed nine, likewise all in the same week (Sept. 18, 2021) that the set started atop the Billboard 200.
ts1989fanatic there’s more in the article but these are the key points.
I have a Question…? Are we sure it’s Halloween and not April 1st other than the fact that these numbers are scary good I thought it might be an April fools prank 😂😂😂😂

Reading One Piece pt 194: Duel on Banaro Island
Chapter 441
Thoughts:
- New Volume! It’s Volume 46! We got Brook on the cover ^_^ (are those zombies in the background)
- We got a list of characters! It’s Blackbeard crew, Straw Hat crew, lone Ace and an obligatory Shanks. Usopp and Franky are finally listed as Straw Hats :D
- Fpos/cs: oh, that space pirate tried to murder Enel too. I’m unproportionally glad about that. But it didn’t work, with Enel changing into lighting and stuff
- Duel time
- Ace doesn’t look impressed with Blackbeard’s new powers
- “Darkness?” “Yes, Commander Ace!” ah, I see, no more Mister Polite Guy, time for disrespect
- Oh right, they’re in the middle of the town. Everyone’s running away, even Blackbeard’s crew
- Dammit, Supernatural is ruining my live once again. Blackbeard is unleashing his powers but all that it reminds me of is that black glorp that Empty made to take Castiel after his love confession to Dean, weird slurpy noises included. I make it so uncool, goddammit, and I can’t stop
- (Ace is still unimpressed. I would suggest you run, boy)
- Ok, Darkness and stuff, scary, but what does it do
- “My Darkness is Gravitation! It’s a force that sucks everything in! Not even light can escape.” HOLY FUCK
- BLACKBEARD HAS POWERS OF FUCKING BLACK HOLE ALL JOKES ARE CANCELLED RUN ACE RUUUUUN
- JESUS CHRIST HOW DO YOU FIGHT THAT
- “It’s not coming towards me” you see Ace, Blackbeard wants to change a little of geography before fight with you. Say bye to the town
- “Black Hole!” Haha (nervously)
- “Liberation!” Haha (histerically)
- (actually I feel like Blackbeard is underusing that power. Why the heck am I feeling that, he destroyed a town in 10 seconds)
- Ace is unimpressed and on fire this time
- FIRE ATTACK! IT’S SUPER EFFECTIVE!
- “If you have a logia type, it should’ve been easy for you to dodge this kind of attack” huh. That’s true
- “I told you! This darkness sucks everything in. Absolutely everything. Bullets, blades, punches, fire, even thunder!!!” ok
- “Unlike other logia types, I cannot fend off an attack and my body sucks in “pain” more that anything else!!!” this… is a big flaw. How good is your dodging game, Blackbeard. Also, what a material for potential angst. I don’t know how this thing can be manufactured into angst fic but I feel its power in my bones
- He’s doing something!
- “Gravitation!” OH FUCK HE GOT ACE
- Ace got punched!
- HIS DARKNESS CAN SUCK IN DEVIL’S FRUIT POWER THIS IS BAD NEWS
- (no, really, how will Luffy defeat him without his powers cause I assume they will be off during their fight)
- (I just remembered haki exists. I just hope I remember correctly that Luffy can use it)
- Blackbeard is doing the same trick with Gravitation as before. But this time Ace is prepared
- “A FLAME SPEAR!?” good one, Ace
- And now they’re fighting
- We’re cutting to the crew marveling over Ace’s general awesomeness and to townies wondering if they will need to evacuate the whole island now
- !!!! Ace is on his knees!
- Blackbeard asked him to be his nakama again!
- Ace told him to stuff it :D
- Oooooooooo final attacks!
- Ace made a Genki Dama :D
- “Zehahaha! Flaming light or darkness! Only one will win!” please let there be light
“…I will make Whitebeard the King” …epic
- WOOOOOOOOOOO THEY CLASHED
- Well??? Who won???
- Oh damnit. It’s the end of the chapter. All we get is Ace’s hat and narration
“Grand Line Duel at Barano Island… The battle between those two pirates was later described as the “trigger” of a very big incident coming in the future.”

Taylor Swift Scores 10th #1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With Red (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift storms in at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated Nov. 27 with Red (Taylor’s Version), her re-recording of her 2012 album, Red, which led the list for seven weeks in 2012-13.
The new 30-track release, which adds a bevy of previously unheard “From the Vault” songs, gives Swift a milestone 10th #1 on the chart, making her just the second woman with 10 #1s in chart’s 65-year history. Barbra Streisand has the most #1s among women, with 11.
Red (Taylor’s Version) earned 605,000 equivalent album units in the U.S, marking the second-largest week of the year, trailing only the debut frame of Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, which racked up 613,000 units. Red (Taylor’s Version) also launches with the best week of the year in terms of traditional album sales: 369,000. SEA units comprise 227,000 (equaling 303.23 million on-demand streams of the set’s 30 tracks), and TEA units comprise 9,000 units. Below are some of the feats that Swift achieves with the debut of Red (Taylor’s Version).
10 #1 Albums: Red (Taylor’s Version) is Swift’s 10th #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. She becomes just the second woman to achieve 10 #1s, following Barbra Streisand, who has 11. Among all acts, The Beatles continue to have the most #1 albums on the Billboard 200, with 19, dating back to when the list began regularly publishing on a weekly basis in March of 1956.
Fastest Accumulation of Four No. 1 Albums by a Solo Artist: Swift has... swiftly earned four # albums on the Billboard 200, in just a little under 16 months (or, 68 weeks). That’s the fastest that a solo artist has accumulated four #1s since the Billboard 200 began regularly publishing on a weekly basis in March of 1956. Previously, among soloists, Elton John earned four #1s the fastest, with just 69 weeks between his final four No. 1s in 1974-75.
Swift’s four-pack of #1s began slightly less than a year and four months ago, when Folklore debuted at #1 on the chart dated Aug. 8, 2020. She followed it with the chart-topping arrivals of Evermore (Dec. 26, 2020-dated chart), Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (April 24, 2021) and now Red (Taylor’s Version) (Nov. 27, 2021).
Largest Sales Week of 2021: With 369,000 copies sold, Red (Taylor’s Version) logs the biggest sales week for any album in 2021. The previous largest sales week of the year was held by Swift’s latest studio album of all-original material, Evermore, when it sold 192,000 copies in the week ending June 3, following its release on vinyl LP. Helping sales of Red (Taylor’s Version) is its release on CD, digital download and vinyl LP all on Nov. 12. Sales of Red (Taylor’s Version) were also enhanced by the availability of CDs signed by Swift in her official webstore and at independent retailers.
Modern-Era Record Vinyl Sales Week... Again: Red (Taylor’s Version) sold 114,000 copies on vinyl in the week ending Nov. 18 - a new single-week record for a vinyl album since MRC Data began tracking sales in 1991. It beats the previous record, set when Swift’s own Evermore sold 102,000 copies on vinyl LP in the week ending June 3. The vinyl sales are particularly impressive, as the Red (Taylor’s Version) vinyl release is a 4-LP set that sells for hefty $49.99.
Second-Largest Streaming Week for an Album by a Woman: Red (Taylor’s Version) debuts with 227,000 SEA units - totaling 303.23 million on-demand streams of the album’s 30 tracks. That’s the largest streaming week of 2021 for an album by a woman, and the second-largest ever for a female artist. Among women, only the debut frame of Ariana Grande’s 2019 album Thank U, Next scored a bigger week, with 307.1 million streams for its songs in its opening frame. Red (Taylor’s Version) also now holds the biggest streaming week for a country album, surpassing the debut frame of Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album in January (240.18 million from its 30 tracks).
Biggest Sales Week for a Country Album in Eight Years: Red (Taylor’s Version) sold 368,000 copies in its first week - the largest sales week for a country album since Luke Bryan’s Crash My Party sold 528,000 copies in its opening week (chart dated Aug. 31, 2013). Red (Taylor’s Version) also logs the biggest week for a country album since the Billboard 200 began ranking titles by equivalent album units (instead of just pure album sales) in December of 2014.
Three country albums have topped the Billboard 200 in 2021: Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (which reigned for 10 weeks), Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and now Red (Taylor’s Version). (Country albums are defined as those that have hit Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.) Swift’s original Red album spent 16 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and finished 2012 and 2013 as the year-end Top Country Album.

Plus, the set's "The 1" & "Exile" open in the Hot 100's top 10.
Taylor Swift's "Cardigan" blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
The song is from Swift's new LP Folklore, which launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as Swift becomes the first artist ever to debut at No. 1 on both the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 in the same week.
Folklore was released July 24 on Republic Records, after being first teased by Swift only the day before.
"Cardigan" is joined by two other songs from the set that debut in the Hot 100's top 10: "The 1," at No. 4, and "Exile," featuring Bon Iver, at No. 6.
Plus, Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo's "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" enters the Hot 100's top 10, rising 12-10.
Let's run down the top 10 of the newest Hot 100, which blends all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data. All charts (dated Aug. 8) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 4).
"Cardigan," the 1,106th No. 1 in the Hot 100's 62-year history, enters with 34 million U.S. streams and 71,000 downloads sold in the week ending July 30, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It concurrently debuts atop both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts.
The song also drew 12.7 million in all-format radio airplay audience in the week ending Aug. 2.
Here are 13 (famously Swift's favorite number) notable achievements surrounding the chart arrival of Folklore and its songs.
First artist ever to debut atop Hot 100 & Billboard 200 simultaneously: With "Cardigan" and Folklore, Swift is the first artist to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 in the same week. The Billboard 200 began on March 24, 1956, and the Hot 100 originated on Aug. 4, 1958.
41st song to debut at No. 1 on Hot 100: "Cardigan" is the 41st song to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100. It's Swift's second, after "Shake It Off" on the chart dated Sept. 6, 2014.
Swift is the seventh artist with multiple No. 1 Hot 100 entrances, joining Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Drake, Ariana Grande (the leaders with three each), Travis Scott and Britney Spears (two each).
Meanwhile, "Cardigan" is the sixth song to debut atop the Hot 100 in 2020, extending the record for the most in a single year. Four songs each started at No. 1 in both 2018 and 1995.
Swift's sixth No. 1: Swift scores her sixth Hot 100 leader. Here's a recap:
"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," three weeks, beginning Sept. 1, 2012 "Shake It Off," four weeks, beginning Sept. 6, 2014 "Blank Space," seven weeks, beginning Nov. 29, 2014 "Bad Blood," feat. Kendrick Lamar, one week, June 6, 2015 "Look What You Made Me Do," three weeks, beginning Sept. 16, 2017 "Cardigan," one week to-date, Aug. 8, 2020
Swift is the 26th artist in the Hot 100's history with at least six No. 1s, and the ninth solo woman. The Beatles lead all acts with 20 No. 1s, followed by Carey with 19.
First woman to debut two songs in top five simultaneously: With "Cardigan" at No. 1 and "The 1" at No. 4, Swift is the first woman, and third act overall, to debut two songs in the Hot 100's top five simultaneously.
Lil Wayne first earned the honor with "Mona Lisa," featuring Kendrick Lamar (No. 2), and "Don't Cry," featuring XXXTentacion (No. 5), on Oct. 13, 2018. Just two weeks ago, on the July 25 chart, the late Juice WRLD entered at Nos. 2 and 5, respectively, with "Come & Go," with Marshmello, and "Wishing Well."
Swift is, thus, the first artist to debut two songs in the Hot 100's top four spots simultaneously.
Three debuts in top 10: As "Cardigan," "The 1" and "Exile" arrive at Nos. 1, 4 and 6, respectively, Swift debuts three songs in the Hot 100's top 10 simultaneously for the first time. She's the sixth artist to accomplish the feat, following Drake (July 14, 2018), Lil Wayne (Oct. 13, 2018) and Juice WRLD (July 25), who share the record with four debuts each in the top 10 simultaneously, and J. Cole (May 5, 2018) and Lil Uzi Vert (March 21, 2020), each with three.
Further, Swift is the first artist to debut three songs in the Hot 100's top six spots in a single week.
Swift up to 28 career top 10s, tied for sixth-most: Swift swells her count of career Hot 100 top 10s from 25 to 28, tying Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder for the sixth-best sum.
Here is a recap of the acts with the most Hot 100 top 10s, dating to the chart's Aug. 4, 1958, inception (two years after Elvis Presley's commercial breakthrough):
Most Hot 100 Top 10s 40, Drake 38, Madonna 34, The Beatles 31, Rihanna 30, Michael Jackson 28, Mariah Carey 28, Taylor Swift 28, Stevie Wonder 27, Elton John 27, Janet Jackson 25, Lil Wayne 25, Elvis Presley
18 career top 10 debuts: Swift extends her record among women for the most debuts in the Hot 100's top 10, as her three new arrivals lift her total to 18. Among all acts, only Drake has more: 25.
16 songs from Folklore hit Hot 100: Swift sends the entirety of the standard edition of Folklore onto the Hot 100, as its 16 songs enter the chart, from "Cardigan" at No. 1 to album closer "Hoax" at No. 71.
Folklore is Swift's second consecutive album whose standard version has fully infused the Hot 100: 18 songs from Lover, which soared in atop the Billboard 200 dated Sept. 7, 2019, charted on the Hot 100 the same week.
Swift passes Nicki Minaj for most Hot 100 entries among women: Swift surges from 97 career Hot 100 entries to 113, passing Nicki Minaj (110) for the most among women.
Swift also becomes the 10th act with at least 100 Hot 100 entries, as she ascends to the fourth-best total. Here's an updated leaderboard:
Most Hot 100 Entries 224, Drake 207, Glee Cast 169, Lil Wayne 113, Taylor Swift 111, Future 110, Nicki Minaj 109, Elvis Presley 108, Kanye West 101, Chris Brown 100, Jay-Z
First solo woman at No. 1 since January: "Cardigan" is the first Hot 100 No. 1 billed solely to one woman since Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" logged three weeks on top from Dec. 21, 2019, through Jan. 4. Before that, Selena Gomez's "Lose You to Love Me" led the Nov. 9 list.
'Cardigan' No. 1 in streams & sales: With 34 million U.S. streams and 71,000 sold in the week ending July 30, "Cardigan" starts as the most-streamed and top-selling song of the week. Swift scores her third Streaming Songs No. 1 and her record-extending 20th Digital Song Sales No. 1, furthering her lead on the latter list over runner-up Rihanna (14).
"Cardigan" was on sale in Swift's webstore via multiple physical/digital combination offerings during the tracking week, ending July 30, including an alternate "Cabin in Candlelight" version released July 29. Consumers could purchase CD and vinyl singles, each with a digital download; the download would be sent to consumers upon purchase, with physical versions due to arrive at a later date.
Radio tries on 'Cardigan': "Cardigan" drew 12.7 million in radio airplay audience in its first full week, ending Aug. 2. It rises 26-17 on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart and debuts at No. 19 on Adult Contemporary and No. 27 on Pop Songs.
Bon Iver's first Hot 100 top 10: With "Exile" debuting at No. 6 on the Hot 100, Bon Iver earns its first top 10 on the chart. The act, fronted by Justin Vernon, previously charted two titles, both in 2010 as featured on songs on Kanye West's album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, led by the No. 18-peaking "Monster," also featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross and Minaj.
"Cardigan" dethrones DaBaby's seven-week Hot 100 leader "Rockstar," featuring Roddy Ricch. The track holds at No. 2 on the Radio Songs chart (67.9 million, up 10%) and dips to No. 3 on Streaming Songs, after nine weeks at No. 1 (32.9 million, down 9%), and 5-7 on Digital Song Sales (10,000, down 6%).
"Rockstar" concurrently rules the multi-metric Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for an eighth week each.
Jack Harlow's "Whats Poppin," featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne, drops to No. 3 on the Hot 100 from its No. 2 high.
The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" descends 4-5 on the Hot 100, following its four-week rule. It tops Radio Songs for a 17th frame (76.2 million in audience, up 2%), moving to within a week of potentially tying for the longest command since the chart started in December 1990.
Most Weeks at No. 1 on Radio Songs 18, "Iris," Goo Goo Dolls, beginning Aug. 1, 1998 17, "Blinding Lights," The Weeknd, April 18, 2020 16, "Girls Like You," Maroon 5 feat. Cardi B, Aug. 4, 2018 16, "We Belong Together," Mariah Carey, May 28, 2005 16, "Don't Speak," No Doubt, Dec. 7, 1996
"Blinding Lights" tops the multi-metric Hot R&B Songs chart for a record-tying 20th week. It joins three other songs for a share of the mark, including another by The Weeknd, dating to the list's October 2012 start: Drake's "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla (2016); The Weeknd's "Starboy," featuring Daft Punk (2016-17); and Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" (2017).
Harry Styles' "Watermelon Sugar" holds at its No. 7 Hot 100 high; SAINt JHN's "Roses" slides 5-8, after reaching No. 4; and Megan Thee Stallion's former one-week leader "Savage," featuring Beyoncé, falls 6-9.
Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo's "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" enters the tier, rising 12-10. The track retreats 3-4 on Digital Song Sales, although with a 14% advance to 13,000 sold, and 10-17 on Streaming Songs, but with a 1% gain to 17.9 million U.S. streams, while climbing 40-33 on Radio Songs (23.5 million, up 23%).
New Zealand producer Jawsh 685 (real name: Joshua Nanai) hits the Hot 100's top 10 in his first visit to the chart, while Derulo adds his seventh top 10 and first since the No. 5-peaking "Want to Want Me" in 2015.
(A "savage" garden: Three songs with "savage" in their titles have hit the Hot 100 all-time, and two of them rank back-to-back at Nos. 9 and 10 this week. The other? Rod Hart's "C.b. Savage," which reached No. 67 in 1977.)

[News] BTS Achieves Fourth No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ [200302]
lands its fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with the biggest week of 2020 for any release.
Map of the Soul: 7 storms in atop the tally with 422,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 27, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Of that sum, 347,000 are in album sales. It’s the fourth No. 1 in less than two years for the seven-member South Korean pop group.
BTS’ big bow is accompanied by two more debuts in the top 10, from YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Ozzy Osbourne.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new March 7-dated chart, where Map of the Soul: 7 enters at No. 1, will be posted in full on Billboard’s website on March 3.
Map of the Soul: 7 was released on Feb. 21 via BigHit Entertainment. Its first-week total of 422,000 equivalent album units comprises 347,000 in album sales, 48,000 in SEA units and 26,000 in TEA units. The album’s SEA sum equates to 74.79 million on-demand streams of the set’s 20 tracks in its first week.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the achievements BTS earns with the act’s latest No. 1 debut:
Biggest Week of 2020: With a whopping 422,000 equivalent album units earned, Map of the Soul: 7 lands the largest week for any album in 2020. The last set to tally a bigger week was Harry Styles’ Fine Line, which arrived at No. 1 with 478,000 on the Dec. 28, 2019-dated list.
Biggest Week for a Group in Four Years: Map of the Soul: 7 scores the largest week for an album by a group, in units, since the Dec. 5, 2015-dated chart, when One Direction’s Made in the A.M. bowed at No. 2 with 459,000 units.
That said, Map of the Soul: 7 sold strongly thanks in large part to the availability of four elaborate collectible CD packages — the same release strategy employed by BTS with its three No. 1 albums, as well as many other South Korean pop acts. Of Map of the Soul: 7’s first-week sales of 347,000, sales of its CD variants comprised 95% (330,000), while its digital album totaled just 5% (17,000).
Each of the four CD variants of Map of the Soul: 7 has the same base contents (the CD album, a photo book, lyric book, a mini notebook, a postcard, a sticker, coloring paper and a poster), though each has slight differences depending on which of the four CD packages the customer purchases. Further enhancing the collectability of the packages: each contains one of 32 randomized photo cards.
Fourth No. 1 Album: Before Map of the Soul: 7, BTS led the Billboard 200 with its last three charting albums: Map of the Soul: Persona (2019), Love Yourself: Answer (Sept. 2018) and Love Yourself: Tear (June 2018). The group has now racked up four albums in a little more than one year and nine months’ time, as its first leader, Love Yourself: Tear, bowed at No. 1 on the list dated June 2, 2018.
The last act to earn four No. 1 albums faster was Future, who logged his fourth No. 1 (a self-titled album, on March 11, 2017) just one year and seven months after his first (DS2, Aug. 8, 2015). He claimed his fifth No. 1 one week after his fourth No. 1, when HNDRXX bowed atop the list dated March 18, 2017.
The last group to generate four No. 1s faster than BTS was The Beatles, who took just one year and five months between Yesterday and Today (July 30, 1966) and Magical Mystery Tour (Jan. 6, 1968).
And finally, the last group to log its first four No. 1s faster than BTS was The Monkees, who took just one year and 21 days between the quartet’s self-titled debut album (with its first week at No. 1 on Nov. 12, 1966) and Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, and Jones, Ltd. (Dec. 2, 1967).
10th Mostly Non-English Album at No. 1: Map of the Soul: 7 is the 10th album performed mostly in a language other than English to reach No. 1. The previous mostly non-English No. 1s were BTS’ three earlier leaders, SuperM’s The First Mini Album EP (2019), Andrea Bocelli’s Si (2018), Il Divo’s Ancora (2006), Josh Groban’s Closer (2004), Selena’s Dreaming Of You (1995) and The Singing Nun’s self-titled album (1963).
Back on the new Billboard 200, rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again bows at No. 2 with Still Flexin, Still Steppin, which steps in with 91,000 equivalent album units. Most of that sum, 87,000, was in SEA units (equaling 137.3 million on-demand streams for the set’s songs) making it the most streamed album of the week. The artist has racked up 13 chart entries in just over two-and-a-half years. His previous album, AI YoungBoy 2, became his first No. 1, opening atop the chart dated Oct. 26, 2019.
Ozzy Osbourne’s Ordinary Man debuts at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, granting the rock legend his eighth top 10 album, and matches his highest rank ever on the list. The set starts with 77,000 equivalent album units earned, with 65,000 of that sum in album sales.
Osbourne previously topped out on the Billboard 200 at No. 3 in 2007 with Black Rain. His last studio album, 2010’s Scream, debuted and peaked at No. 4.
Justin Bieber’s Changes falls from No. 1 to No. 4 in its second week, earning 66,000 equivalent album units (down 71%). Roddy Ricch’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial slips 4-5 with 65,000 units (down 8%), A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s Artist 2.0 descends 2-6 with 57,000 units (down 49%) and Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding shifts 6-7 with 50,000 units (up 1%).
The late Pop Smoke’s Meet the Woo, V.2 is a non-mover at No. 8 with 49,000 equivalent album units earned — up 23% following the first full week of tracking impact after his death on Feb. 19. Trippie Redd’s former No. 1 A Love Letter to You 4 vaults 36-9 with 43,000 units (up 148%) after it was reissued with bonus tracks. Rounding out the new top 10 is Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, falling 7-10 with 38,000 units (down 14%).

It’s the first by a woman to log its first four weeks on the chart at No. 1 since 2015.
Taylor Swift’s Folklore is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a fourth straight week, becoming the first album by a woman to spend its first four weeks at No. 1 in nearly five years.
Folklore earned 101,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 20 (down 26%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It’s the fourth straight week the set has tallied at least 100,000 units -- a rarity for a non-R&B or hip-hop album.
Folklore launched at No. 1 on the chart dated Aug. 8 with 846,000 units -- the biggest week of 2020, and the largest for any album since Swift’s last release, Lover, bowed at No. 1 with 867,000 units on the Sept. 7, 2019, chart.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Aug. 29-dated chart (where Folklore spends a fourth week at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard's website on Aug. 25.
Of Folklore’s units earned in the newest tracking week, SEA units comprise 53,000 (down 22%, equaling 70.48 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs), album sales total 46,000 (down 31%) and TEA units equal 2,000 (up 73%).
In the week ending Aug. 20, Folklore benefited from the release of a deluxe version of the album at digital retailers and streamers that added a bonus track, “The Lakes,” which was previously exclusive to the physical formats of the album. In addition, Swift dropped new merchandise/album bundles in her official webstore and sold signed Folklore CDs at independent record stores (which generated buzz with Swift fans and indie store owners).
Concurrently, three different Folklore singles are continuing to make inroads at radio. On the most recently published airplay charts (dated Aug. 22, reflecting the tracking week ending Aug. 16), former No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Cardigan” climbed 22-18 on the Pop Songs airplay chart; “Exile,” featuring Bon Iver, rose 27-29 on the Adult Alternative Songs airplay tally and “Betty” bounced 52-49 on Country Airplay.
100,000 Units in Four Weeks: As Folklore earned 101,000 equivalent album units in its fourth week, it’s just the second album in 2020 to yield at least 100,000 units in each of its first four weeks. Beginning in July, rapper Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon also saw its first four weeks tally at least 100,000 units. (Another hip-hop set, Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die, is the only other album with four weeks of 100,000-plus units in 2020, but they were nonconsecutive.)
Folklore is the first non-R&B/hip-hop album to earn four weeks of 100,000-plus units since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born soundtrack notched a fourth, and final, nonconsecutive week of 100,000-plus units on March 9, 2019.
Further, Folklore is the first non-R&B/hip-hop effort to see its first four weeks each earn 100,000-plus since Swift’s own Reputation (Dec. 2-23, 2017).
First Album by a Woman to Spend Its First Four Weeks at No. 1 Since 2015: As Folklore spends a fourth week at No. 1, it becomes the first album by a woman to rule for its first four weeks since Adele’s 25 topped the list in its first seven weeks (of its total of 10 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1). 25 debuted at No. 1 on the Dec. 12, 2015-dated chart, and was No. 1 through Jan. 23, 2016. It then returned to No. 1 on Feb. 13, 2016 for one week, and then for two more weeks on March 5-12, 2016.
The last album by any act to spend its first four weeks at No. 1 -- and the only other album to do so in 2020 aside from Folklore -- was The Weeknd’s After Hours (April 4-25).
Since Adele’s 25, the only albums by women with four total weeks at No. 1 are Swift’s Reputation (four weeks; with three in a row between Dec. 2-16, 2017, and one more at No. 1 on Jan. 6, 2018) and Lady Gaga’s A Star Is Born soundtrack, with Bradley Cooper (four weeks; with three consecutive between Oct. 20 and Nov. 3, 2018, and one more on March 9, 2019).
Bonus fun fact: Folklore is Swift's first album to spend its first four weeks at No. 1. She previously saw three albums (Red, 1989 and Speak Now) each tally their first three weeks at No. 1.

Taylor Swift’s Re-Recorded ‘Fearless’ Album Debuts at #1 on Billboard 200 Chart With Year's Biggest Week
More than 12 years after Taylor Swift notched her first #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in 2008 with her second studio set Fearless, she’s back atop the list with a re-recorded version of the album, titled Fearless (Taylor’s Version). The new set is her ninth #1 and scores the biggest week of 2021 for any album. It launches with 291,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending April 15, according to MRC Data.
The original Fearless album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated Nov. 29, 2008, and spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks on the chart. It has sold 10.28 million copies in the U.S. and is Swift’s second-biggest-selling release, behind her 2014 album 1989 (10.44 million).
On Feb. 11, 2021, Swift announced she had re-recorded the 2008 album Fearless as Fearless (Taylor’s Version). The new 26-track album has re-recordings of all 13 songs on Fearless, along with the six bonus songs added to a 2009 reissue of Fearless (dubbed the Platinum Edition) and the 2010 single “Today Was a Fairytale.” Beyond those 20 re-recordings, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) also boasts six newly recorded “from the vault” songs that were written for the original Fearless album, but were never recorded and released until now.
Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is the only #1 album of its kind: a re-recording of an artist’s (own or another’s) previously released album. Of Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’s 291,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week ending April 15, album sales comprise 179,000 (making it the top-selling album of the week), SEA units comprise 109,000 units (equaling 142.98 million on-demand streams of the album’s tracks) and TEA units comprise 3,000. Re-recordings of older songs or albums are treated separately from their originals, with independent chart histories for each version. Thus, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) charts separately from the original album. The 2008 Fearless album falls off the new chart, after having re-entered a week earlier at No. 157 (chart dated April 17). In the latest tracking week, the 2008 Fearless album earned 6,200 equivalent album units (down 19%).
Ninth #1 Album: As Fearless (Taylor’s Version) marks Swift’s ninth Billboard 200 #1, she ties Madonna for the second-most #1 albums among women. Swift is closing in on Barbra Streisand’s all-time record among women of 11 #1 albums. Among all artists, The Beatles have the most #1s, with 19. Among all soloists, Jay-Z leads with 14.
Biggest Week of 2021 by Units Earned: With 291,000 equivalent album units earned, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) scores the largest week for any album in 2021. It jumps past the previous high-water mark, set when Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album bowed at #1 with 265,000 units (chart dated Jan. 23).
The Three Largest Weeks for an Album in the Last Eight Months All Belong to Swift: Since August of 2020, Swift has not only claimed three #1s, but also the three biggest weeks among albums in units earned. On the Aug. 8, 2020-dated chart, Folklore debuted at #1 with 846,000 units. Evermore arrived at #1 on the Dec. 26, 2020, chart with 329,000 units. And now Fearless (Taylor’s Version) starts with 291,000 units.
Biggest Week for a Country Album Since 2015: As Fearless (Taylor’s Version) bows with 291,000 units, it logs the largest week for a country album since 2015. The last country set to post a bigger frame was Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights, which debuted at #1 with 345,000 units. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) has the biggest week for a country album by a female artist since the Billboard 200 chart transitioned from an album-sales only ranking to an equivalent album units-based chart on the Dec. 13, 2014, survey.
Strong Sales: With 179,000 copies sold in its first week, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) logs the largest sales week for an album released in 2021, surpassing the opening week of Wallen’s Dangerous (74,000). Fearless (Taylor’s Version) also has the biggest sales week for any album since Swift’s last release, Evermore, sold 102,000 in its second week (Jan. 2-dated chart).
Largest Streaming Week for a Country Album by a Woman: Fearless (Taylor’s Version) bows with 109,000 SEA units - totaling 142.98 million on-demand streams of the album’s tracks. That hefty sum marks the biggest streaming week for a country album by a woman.  It surpasses the previous record of 44.67 million streams tallied by songs on the Brenda Lee collection Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree: The Decca Christmas Recordings (Jan. 2, 2021, chart). Swift also scores the biggest debut streaming week for a country album by a woman, blowing past Maren Morris’ former high-water mark of 23.96 million streams earned by Girl on the March 23, 2019-dated chart.
Swift Now Has 3 of the Top Five-Selling Albums of 2021: In terms of traditional album sales, Swift already has three of the top five-selling albums of 2021 so far. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is #2 with 179,000, Folklore is #4 with just over 111,000, and Evermore is #5 with a little under 111,000.
Shortest Wait Between New #1 Albums by a Woman: Swift waited just four months between the first weeks at #1 for Evermore (Dec. 26, 2020) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (April 24, 2021). That’s the shortest gap between new #1 albums by a woman. Swift beats her own record, set with the four months and two weeks between the first weeks at #1 for Folklore (Aug. 8, 2020) and Evermore.
First Woman With 3 New #1 Albums in Less Than a Year: With eight months and two weeks between the first weeks at #1 for Folklore, Evermore and Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Swift becomes the first woman in the 65-year history of the chart with three new #1s in less than 12 months.

'Case-to-case' basis in cash aid grant for cops with Covid-19
#PHnews: 'Case-to-case' basis in cash aid grant for cops with Covid-19
MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Debold Sinas on Friday assured that the needs of all police officers infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) would be immediately addressed.
“We provided assistance to all our personnel and the amount varies on the need of our personnel,” Sinas told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) when sought for a comment on the recalled memorandum specifying the amounts of cash assistance to be given to PNP personnel who contracted Covid-19.
In a memorandum dated Nov. 24, signed by PNP Comptroller Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Licup, all police regional directors were ordered to give PHP50,000 financial assistance to “all PNP front-liners who tested positive of Covid-19”.
“I have ordered the recall of the memo because of some confusion in the appreciation of our people on the ground,” Licup said in a text message sent to PNA.
Sinas earlier clarified that the amount of assistance to be given to Covid-19 affected cops would be determined on a "case-to-case basis".
“During my management, I made it clear to put a minimum and a ceiling amount. As to how much, it is up to us. There is a minimum amount because not everyone can just get a big amount, for example, those who are asymptomatic, they are not much of a problem. It is only fitting that we give to severe cases, those who really went across different hospitals just to beat Covid-19,” Sinas told reporters on Thursday after his first command visit in Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 in Legazpi City, Albay.
As of Thursday night, 49 more police officers have recovered from the Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries among its ranks to 7,601.
This brings down the number of active cases in the police force to 381, based on data released by the PNP Health Service.
Meanwhile, the PNP logged 31 new infections, bringing the total number of cases to 8,008.
The police force's Covid-19 death toll stands at 26. (PNA)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Lawyers for the U.S. Postal Service were in court Thursday to defend accusations that service cuts are slowing down the mail and threatening the integrity of the presidential election.
The latest hearing on the issue took place in federal court in Philadelphia, where the attorneys general from six states and the District of Columbia have sued.
They argue that on-time delivery dropped sharply in July and has not fully rebounded as the nation battles a pandemic and prepares for an election that could hinge on mail-in ballots.
“There was a sharp dip in early July that hasn’t rebounded to where it was, even today,” Deputy Attorney General Aimee D. Thomson of Pennsylvania argued.
Judges in Washington state and New York have issued emergency orders this month in similar cases. The others states involved in Thursday’s hearing are California, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.
Thomson said the evidence shows a slowdown order came from headquarters this summer after Postmaster General Louis DeJoy took over the service.
Lawyers for the Postal Service say headquarters never ordered a slowdown or overtime ban. However, they conceded in court that local postal managers may have misconstrued the guidance from Washington and thought the stated goal of reducing overtime was actually a mandate.

Wyze's solid weatherproof security camera watches over your yard for just $50
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/wyzes-solid-weatherproof-security-camera-watches-over-your-yard-for-just-50/
Wyze's solid weatherproof security camera watches over your yard for just $50
The $50 Wyze Cam Outdoor Starter Bundle takes the best parts of the $20 indoor Wyze Cam, and adds a weatherproof design and battery-powered flexibility. It’s a great camera that looks nice and is easy to set up and use — at a ridiculously low price. Wyze continues to offer two weeks of free cloud storage with this camera, as well as a built-in microSD card slot if local storage is more your thing. (You’ll need to use the microSD card slot anyway if you want to take advantage of this camera’s Travel Mode — more on that later.)

Wyze’s decision to introduce an option to pay for its long-awaited person alerts, returning this September, is the one thing keeping me from giving this model a CNET Editors’ Choice Award (more on person alerts later).
Overall, though, this $50 camera is a great budget option that expands on Wyze’s excellent line of affordable smart home products. Starter Bundles and standalone cameras are available for preorder now.

The basics
With your Starter Bundle, you get one Wyze Cam Outdoor, one Base Station and mounting hardware. Like Arlo’s Pro series of cameras, the Wyze Cam Outdoor needs to be used with a hub, the Base Station, which you connect to your router with an included cable. Additional cameras will be sold separately for $40 each — and you can connect up to four cameras to one Base Station.
The idea here is that the Base Station will both extend your Wi-Fi range and improve your camera’s battery life. While its battery life can vary based on usage, the outside temperature and other factors, it’s supposed to last three to six months. Unfortunately, you do have to bring the camera in when you need to charge it — it doesn’t have a removable battery.

More details
Setting up the Wyze Cam Outdoor is simple; it’s the similar to installing the indoor Wyze Cam, with the addition of connecting the Base Station to the app. Check out my Wyze Cam how-to article detailing each step for more information. But, in short, you need to download the Wyze app, create an account (if you don’t alread have one) and follow the prompts to connect your camera.
The app will ask you to plug the Base Station into your router and name your Base Station. Then add your camera, placing it near the Base Station and turning on the power switch behind the camera. Hit the sync button on the bottom of the camera, name your camera and you’re pretty much done. You do also have the option to share your device with a family member or friend. Also, you can follow instructions in the app tutorial to mount your camera. The camera has a built-in base similar to the indoor Wyze Cam, so I opted to set it on the railing of the back deck rather than mounting it.
All told it took a little over 5 minutes total to set up, although it will take longer if you mount your camera more permanently.
32 outdoor security cameras that take home security seriously
See all photos
Just like the indoor Wyze Cam, the Wyze Cam Outdoor offers adjustable video quality (auto, HD, SD and 360p), livestreaming, motion alerts, a motion detection zone and time lapse, two-way audio and free saved clips in the app’s events tab.
The camera also works with Alexa and Google Assistant. I don’t have a smart display at home to test this out, but you should be able to ask your Alexa- or Google-Assistant-enabled smart display to show your camera’s live feed. The Travel Mode option is supposed to record motion and time-lapse clips to a microSD card without being connected to the Wyze Base Station or your home Wi-Fi network. Again, I didn’t have a microSD card handy when I was testing out this camera.
That brings me to person alerts. Wyze used to have a free person detection feature that worked really well, but got rid of it in January, promising to bring it back soon — and to continue to offer it as a free service. An excerpt from the Nov. 26, 2019, email alerting customers to the upcoming change read: “The good news is that when we do reroll out this feature [person detection] it will still be free for you — even if we end up using the cloud instead if edge-AI.”
On July 20 of this year, Wyze contacted select early customers, letting them know that person detection would be returning this September and that everyone who had created a Wyze account before Nov. 26, 2019, would continue to get person detection for free. But, due to costs Wyze didn’t anticipate, everyone else will have to pay for person detection via an upcoming optional service called Cam Plus. I don’t have the pricing details for this optional subscription plan yet, but will update this review when I do.
Fortunately, you still get two weeks of cloud storage — and the other existing features, like motion zones and time lapses — for free.
Privacy chat
User privacy is an important consideration when you’re shopping for a security camera or any camera-enabled smart home device.
A Wyze data leak exposed user data for 22 days in December 2019. Customer credit card info and passwords were not part of the leak, but Wyze logged all users out of their accounts and reset integrations with Alexa, Google Assistant and other third-party partners. To protect yourself after the leak, CNET’s Jason Cipriani suggested creating a new password (and changing any other accounts that might have the same password), as well as signing up for two-factor authentication and reconnecting your third-party integrations.
Check out Wyze’s privacy policy to learn more about what information it collects and how it’s used.
Should you buy it?
If you’re looking for an affordable weatherproof home security camera, the Wyze Cam Outdoor should definitely be in the running. This model combines an outdoor-rated housing with a rechargeable battery so you can put it pretty much anywhere within range of your Wi-Fi network — and, if you use Travel Mode, well beyond the reaches of Wi-Fi.
Wyze gives you storage options with two weeks of free event-based video clips and the built-in microSD card slot. The camera itself is easy to install and performs well. It’s a shame Wyze wasn’t able to bring back free person alerts for everyone, although the company says it will revisit whether to charge for the feature in the future, if it’s able to. Regardless, this is a great camera that brings the best of the original indoor Wyze Cam outside.

Taylor Swift Debuts at #1 on Hot 100 With 'Cardigan,' Is 1st Artist to Open Atop Hot 100 & Billboard 200 in Same Week
By: Gary Trust for Billboard Date: August 3rd 2020
Plus, the set's "The 1" & "Exile" open in the Hot 100's top 10.
Tumblr media
1) First artist ever to debut atop Hot 100 & Billboard 200 simultaneously: With "Cardigan" and Folklore, Swift is the first artist to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 in the same week. The Billboard 200 began on March 24, 1956, and the Hot 100 originated on Aug. 4, 1958.
2) 41st song to debut at No.
3) Swift's sixth No.
4) First woman to debut two songs in top five simultaneously: With "Cardigan" at No.
5) Three debuts in top 10: As "Cardigan," "The 1" and "Exile" arrive at Nos.
6) Swift up to 28 career top 10s, tied for sixth-most: Swift swells her count of career Hot 100 top 10s from 25 to 28, tying Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder for the sixth-best sum.
7) 18 career top 10 debuts: Swift extends her record among women for the most debuts in the Hot 100's top 10, as her three new arrivals lift her total to 18. Among all acts, only Drake has more: 25.
8) 16 songs from Folklore hit Hot 100: Swift sends the entirety of the standard edition of Folklore onto the Hot 100, as its 16 songs enter the chart, from "Cardigan" at No.
9) Swift passes Nicki Minaj for most Hot 100 entries among women: Swift surges from 97 career Hot 100 entries to 113, passing Nicki Minaj (110) for the most among women.
10) First solo woman at No. 9 list.
11) 'Cardigan' No.
12) Radio tries on 'Cardigan': "Cardigan" drew 12.7 million in radio airplay audience in its first full week, ending Aug. 2. It rises 26-17 on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart and debuts at No. 19 on Adult Contemporary and No. 27 on Pop Songs.
13) Bon Iver's first Hot 100 top 10: With "Exile" debuting at No.

PhilHealth-8 only spent P1-M for Covid-19 treatment
#PHnews: PhilHealth-8 only spent P1-M for Covid-19 treatment
TACLOBAN CITY – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation has just paid over PHP1 million so far for the management of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Eastern Visayas (Region 8).
Although feared by many, spending for coronavirus is lower than managing dialysis and cancer patients, PhilHealth Eastern Visayas acting regional vice president Rosario Suyom said in a press briefing late Thursday.
As of Nov. 4, at least seven health facilities in the region have received PHP1.14 million benefit payment with the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) here getting over 60 percent of reimbursements.
“EVRMC has the most number of benefits payments since it is a referral hospital. They are the receiving facility for more serious Covid-19 cases, but recently more hospitals treat Covid-19 patients as health workers learned how to manage the coronavirus,” Suyom told reporters.
“Covid-19 may seem to be more expensive due to additional cost for personal protective equipment and mitigation measures, but it is cheaper than managing cancer and dialysis patients because the treatment lasts for years compared to Covid-19 which is manageable for weeks,” she added.
The amount logged as of Nov. 4 is claims of 46 patients who suffered severe Covid-19 symptoms. Data does not capture claims to be received by the state health insurance firm and those under process.
The payment is just a small fraction of the PHP3 billion total benefits payment disbursed by PhilHealth in the region from January to October 2020, Suyom said.
“Monitoring is being done and we have guidelines to ensure that there are no fraudulent claims related to Covid-19 treatment,” she added.
As of Nov. 26, the region has 8,518 Covid-19 cases, including 7,824 recoveries and 88 deaths, bringing the total active cases to 606.
Of the currently active cases, 75.88 percent are asymptomatic, 22.93 percent are mild, 0.69 percent are severe, and only 0.50 percent are critical. (PNA)
