So I was donating blood and was thinking of an AU where Billy knew he was Captain Marvel, knew how to access his powers but retained nothing of Marvel’s memories. A consequence of the magic is that the human mind can’t comprehend it so Billy transforms and essentially blacks out until he changes back. I can only imagine the sheer frustration of Bill having No Idea what he was up to as Marvel. His street buds think he’s the biggest Cap fanboy because he’s constantly tracking down down info on the heroes fights and missions in a desperate bid to understand.
Marvel himself would be Billy but maybe he too has a hard time connecting to his mortal self’s memories. He knows he’s from Fawcett City, that he struggles and barely scrapes by under difficult circumstances but he really can’t recall any details or information about Bill’s life. He may even forget that his true self is child. Pretty ironic if Cap is voting down introducing child sidekicks to the League.
Freddy is shaking Billy down for info about what the Justice League is like and Bill is red faced from frustrated tears because he knows Nothing. He knows via interviews that the JLA loves Marvel, trusts him and talks to him alot but he doesn’t remember. Superman probably told Marvel his identity but does Bill know? Nope and its incredibly annoying.

Listen, we know Bruce was traumatized by his parents’ death but I hold that even before they were killed Bruce Wayne was a little weirdo. Like his paranoia and difficulty with emotion and attachment are from that terrible night. But I imagine 8 year old Brucie was OCD as hell and painstakingly arranging and rearranging his things to his satisfaction. He was meticulous, even as a child, very detail oriented. Highly intelligent, showing a boundless curiosity and determination to understand everything from a young age. I bet he was hell to enforce bedtimes on, always to do much to do and too little hours in the day.
Bruce was that kid who dragged bugs in the house for study, pulled down all the books on one shelf so could arrange them in height order, skittered around the house’s many passages like a little rat. He was the kid who was happy and cheerful but a bit awkward from growing up a Wayne, he would much rather squirrel away somewhere with a book considered too old for him than talk with people he didn’t know. He loved the macabre in the way weird little kids too, he wanted to see Zorro for the action and the violent fight scenes. Thomas and Martha Wayne had to listen to their precocious son ask them time and again how they thought they would die and listen to his speculations.
I want the Justice League to have to go back in time for whatever reason and they expect Bruce to be a delightful, happy, normal child. Instead, they find a kid with a lovingly worn Sherlock Holmes omnibus under one arm, an entire bag of raisins in the other, dark circles under his eyes from late nights reading and he’s covered in dust and debris from getting stuck behind the drywall again.
“You’re not mom and dad’s friends,” he’d say in a petulant voice with a familiar set of his mouth. “I’m gonna call my butler and he’s going to kick your butt.” And the whole League loses their mind because Bruce really has always been Bruce.

the teachers really understand that they’re here to facilitate the growth of their students. we all know that balam could’ve broken out earlier, but he waited for agares to make his point to the 1st years bcuz it’s something they needed to hear from the person they were looking up to for the wrong reasons
so often series will have a school setting and have terrible teachers. it’s not on even on purpose, it’s bcuz there’s not the same focus on actual learning and life lessons that’s found here. like even if this is a fantastical setting, they are still fundamentally educators

remember at the beginning when iruma genuinely didn’t understand that he could rely on others cause he never could before? cause i do every damn day of my life
but see now! he still lives with that anxiety in the back of his head, ready for danger at all times on some level, but he now recognizes instinctually that asking for help is an acceptable response
you can’t see, but im cheering very loudly for this improvement! he’s learning to trust the people around him!!

i like how being in the demon world and gaining supportive family and friends doesn’t completely fix his problems. rather, it seems that his trauma will be a fixture in his life even while the people around him soothe the pain
it goes along with how emotionally complex and realistic this series is despite what one would typically expect from the setting. like this really highlights that while he’s grown and healed from the most obvious and surface level impacts of his traumatic childhood, iruma is still consumed by the more ugly emotional scars it’s left behind.
the line “never forget: danger is always lurking around every corner” shows that on some level iruma goes about his daily life on the edge, always ready to evade danger because he expects his life to be threatened and has yet to fully deal with how fucked up that is
anyway im heading out to torture and kill his parents if any of y’all want to join me

Probably the last batch of my attempts for the Cerberus coloring contest (still being put on by @ultrainfinitepit , go follow them they do rad art)
For this one I decided to go back to my roots, so it’s Danny Phantom inspired!! Oddly fitting since I’m going as him for halloween this year, eh? But anyway!! Here they are

trying no links to ao3 or ffn again cuz my last one didnt do so good and im not sure if its because of that or the time it was posted but! heres this one. this is not a continuation of the rest of my ectober fics so far, this one goes on its own. i combined these two prompts because i put them in the calendar like this so why wouldnt i kjbhgv
WARNINGS: vivisection, dissection, off screen character death

Jack walked in through the front door holding two bags of groceries. He kicked the door closed behind him with his foot and dropped his keys into the bowl on the table that sat beside the couch.
“I’m home!” Jack called into the house. No one responded.
He set the bags of groceries down on the kitchen counter and turned to face the basement door.
“Maddie, are you down there? It’s about time we should start making dinner.”
No reply. The only thing he heard was the clinking of metal as it was placed down on one of the metal counters. They hadn’t made any plans to dissect or study any ghosts today. What was she doing down there?
Jack pushed open the basement door the rest of the way and started heading down the stairs to the lab.
As he got closer to the second door that was slightly ajar, he could smell copper and iron, it burned his nose on the way in. If she was going to be doing experiments down here, the second door should have been shut. They’ve had enough ecto contamination in their food even after they stopped storing samples inside the fridge upstairs. What was the point of having these safety measures if they weren’t even going to-
Jack froze. The door glided to a stop after he pushed it open, making a shrill creaking sound.
Maddie stood in front of the operation table arms deep inside their son's chest.
Blood coated her arms all the way up to her elbows, gradually fading into ectoplasm. When she turned to look at him she had a frightening glint in her eyes and a kidney in her hands.
Scattered around her were jars and jars filled with formaldehyde and various organs. She turned away from him and placed the kidney she was holding into one of the open jars.
Maddie turned to face Jack again and as he searched her face he doesn’t find a single ounce of remorse anywhere.
“What did you do to our son?” Jack asked with a shaky voice.
Maddie tsked. “That thing wasn’t our son.”
“Excuse me?” Jack asked lowly. “He’s laying right there. You’re covered in his blood.”
“It’s all a part of this ghost’s trickery. A last ditch attempt to save itself.” Maddie turned to look at where their son laid on the cold metal table. “I was performing a vivisection on Phantom. Then suddenly a light was engulfing his body and when it dissipated he had turned into Danny. I don’t know how he had been able to disguise himself well enough for his ectoplasm to turn red but it’s not Danny.”
“Then where is Danny? Where is our son?”
Maddie waved his questions off. “I dropped him off at the Nasty Burger earlier today. I found Phantom not too long after that fighting another ghost across the street. He begged me to listen to him, that he needed to tell me something.” Maddie let out a sharp laugh. “How funny it is how much he tries to mimic us, to trick us. I never let it fool me though, and I finally got him.”
Jack's horror was mounting.
His son was dead. His son was dead and Maddie was too blind to believe she had killed him.
Did she not think it too much of a coincidence that she found Phantom where Danny was supposed to be? How much they looked alike now that he was thinking about it? How could she still not see it when Phantom turned into their son and died with her hands in his chest?
Jack turned around and started stumbling up the stairs.
“Oh, Jack, sweetie, are you okay? Perhaps I should have warned you before you came down. I was just so wrapped up in my research that I forgot to call you.”
He pulled the basement door shut behind him in the kitchen and panted, leaning against the door.
“Dad, are you okay?” Jazz walked up to him with a glass of water.
He shook his head. “I need you to go outside and wait across the street.”

Treat
“Come on, Danny. Let’s go out for a little treat. How about some ice cream?”
Jazz watched as her mother struggled to get Danny’s jacket on. She pulled one arm through first and then the other. Danny stood there, unmoving, staring at nothing, while Maddie fussed over him.
Ever since Danny came home he was different.
One day Maddie came home late at night, cheering to the whole household that she found Danny. That Danny was home. Jazz ran down the stairs while Maddie was telling Danny how much everyone missed him, how they were all so worried. But something seemed off. Something wasn’t right.
Danny barely reacted to anything. Even once he was home and got settled, he never said anything. He was mute now. He never looked like he was there mentally. His eyes were always glassy, like he was never focused on what he was looking at. That he didn’t care to see what was in front of him. And the way he moved was very monotonous, almost robot like.
Maddie toted him around with her everywhere these days. She said she just wanted to spend time with him. That she was trying to get him to come back out of his shell. But Jazz was skeptical about that. It was almost like Maddie wanted to keep an eye on him. Like if she took her eyes off of him for a moment something would happen.
Danny never went ghost anymore either. When she hugged him for the first time after he came back he was so warm, much warmer than he had been in so long. It had unsettled her. It set off the alarms inside her head. She knew something horrible must’ve happened.
But what happened that had such an effect on him? What could he have possibly gone through if he had simply been wandering the streets, like Maddie said he was when she found him? What could have so severely damaged his ghost half that he was no longer cold?
Maddie thought no one noticed her sneaking around at night. That no one noticed the new pills she had started giving Danny with his daily multivitamin. She said it was medication for his PTSD but she hadn’t even taken him to a doctor after she brought him home. How could she have gotten him a diagnosis or medication without talking to a doctor?
Every once in a while Jazz thought she could see whatever hold her mother had on Danny slipping. When the effects of whatever she was doing to him wore off. His eyes would focus, he’d look around. And then their mother would hand him another pill.
But as Danny and Maddie were walking out the door, he turned his head up towards Jazz, looking straight into her eyes. This was the first time he had even looked at her since he came home. He gave her a small nod and headed out the door, pulling it shut behind him.
Jazz’s legs felt shaky. She stood there and looked at the front door.
What did her mother do to Danny?
