"Louvei o Altíssimo; honrei e glorifiquei aquele que vive para sempre. O seu domínio é um domínio eterno; o seu reino dura de geração em geração [...]. Ele age como lhe agrada com os exércitos dos céus e com os habitantes da terra. Ninguém é capaz de resistir à sua mão ou dizer-lhe: O que fizeste?"

Daniel 4:34-35

Talvez você conheça alguém como Nabucodonosor. Orgulhoso como o proverbial pavão, ele desfilava seus bens. O maior dos reis da Babilonia conquistava as pessoas e reinos como um capricho. Ele lhes tomava as terras, roubava-lhes de sua vida e cultura e encorajava-os a adorá-lo como se ele fosse um rei divino.

Embora o profeta Daniel avisasse Nabucodonosor sobre seu orgulho e tentasse persuadi-lo a reconhecer a soberania de Deus, ele não o escutou. Como resultado, Deus permitiu que ele tivesse sete anos de loucura antes de restaurar-lhe o reino. No final das contas, é claro, o rei entendeu quem estava realmente no controle do universo e de sua própria vida e quem lhe concedeu o poder de fazer o que conseguiu fazer.

Algumas pessoas ainda não conseguiram alcançar essa compreensão. Eles se denominam "autodi- datas". Algumas pessoas podem até dizer que compartilham o crédito por isso com outros, pois é a coisa politicamente correta a se fazer em nossa cultura. Podem tirar o chapéu a a uma equipe pelo resultado de projeto, Podem agradecer aos pais por um "bom começo" na vida. Podem agradecer à empresa pela "liberdade" de experimentar e pensar criativamente. Mas os sinais de arrogância são frequentemente aparentes.

Quando começamos a acreditar que nós é que somos os responsáveis por nossos éxitos, colocamo-nos como Deus. Esse é um ponto perigoso. Deus guia. Deus ordena e Deus controla. Ele sabe qual será o resultado.

Tudo o que precisamos fazer é reconhecer seu poder, confiar em sua liderança e seguir sua direção.

Tudo o que ele pede é que reconheçamos a fonte de nosso sucesso. Isso soa como um acordo razoável para mim.

Deus acima do que aparentemente é impossível

Pode parecer improvável que Deus se apresente em sua situação impossível: seu diagnóstico, sua infertilidade, seu relacionamento rompido, seu filho desobediente, seu caráter inconsistente, sua ansiedade, suas dificuldades financeiras, sua dor.

Felizmente, Deus não é limitado ou delimitado pelo mundo natural.

Crescendo em uma família judia, Maria sabia sobre o Messias profetizado: o tão esperado Salvador do mundo. Mas provavelmente nunca imaginou que essas antigas previsões seriam cumpridas na vida, morte e ressurreição de seu filho, que de alguma forma, era totalmente Deus, mas também totalmente homem.

Mas como o anjo Gabriel explicou a Maria:

“Pois nada é impossível para Deus.”

Deus não apenas planejou esses eventos há muito tempo, mas também os declarou antecipadamente por meio dos profetas e escritores do Antigo Testamento.

A vida de Jesus: este Deus-homem viria da linhagem de Davi (Isaías 9:7) e nasceria de uma virgem (Isaías 7:14) em Belém (Miqueias 5:2). Ele faria o cego ver, o surdo ouvir, o coxo andar e o mudo cantar (Isaías 35:5-6). Ele proclamaria boas novas aos pobres, confortaria os quebrantados de coração e libertaria os cativos (Isaías 61:1).

A morte de Jesus: embora inocente (Isaías 53:9), ele seria traído por um amigo próximo (Salmo 41:9) por trinta moedas de prata (Zacarias 11:12). Ele seria desprezado e rejeitado (Isaías 53:3), espancado e cuspido (Isaías 50:6), perfurado nas mãos e nos pés (Salmo 22:16) e finalmente morto (Daniel 9:26).

Ressurreição de Jesus: ele ressuscitaria (Salmo 16:10-11) e estabeleceria uma aliança sem fim com o povo de Deus (Jeremias 31:31-34). Porque Ele estaria disposto a levar os pecados de muitos e interceder pelos rebeldes (Isaías 53:12), muitos seriam considerados justos (Isaías 53:11) e Ele seria uma luz para todas as nações (Isaías 11:10).

Tudo em Jesus parecia impossível, mas Deus é capaz de fazer além do que podemos imaginar. Portanto, lembre-se do Deus a quem você serve e sinta-se encorajado: Deus não se surpreende com nada. Ele já conhece o fim desde o início. Seus propósitos não podem ser frustrados. Seu caráter nunca vai mudar.

Nada é impossível para Ele.

Everywhere I Look I See Your Face

"I used to believe."

When I was a child, I used to look forward to bedtime with a sense of wonder. Each night when I lay on my dirty mattress, I would look for faces in the air around me. Swirling in that hazy DREAMWORLD were angelic presences that nurtured and listened to my cries. I would only see them a few times a year, but when they did decide to reveal themselves; it was uniquely beautiful. Their eyes were soft and kind, their fingers caressing the fog from my breath with gentle strokes of genius. Their searching hands were painting pictures that wandered and fluctuated within the colored dots you see when you stare at a light too long. A bird flying through the eye of a needle. Three golden strings braided into the hair of a puppet. A floating hourglass with the sand swiftly falling to a halting conclusion. Images and shapes swam before my wide eyes and lulled me to a peaceful sleep. The faces watched over me. Over time they came together into one single body. The faces were only one single face, pale and shining in the darkness of my room. The frequency of her visits increased as I got older. Her features became clearer, and she was beautiful to me. She wore a tattered black dress and she sometimes seemed to have wings as she hovered above me. Distinctly I remember hearing her voice calling me. It was faint as a whisper but had the quality and effect of the loudest scream. I was just on the edge of falling asleep and I sat up in bed as her words shot through my head. She was calling my name. She was calling out for me to return to her dwelling place. In that moment I felt a chill, far deeper and colder than anything my frail body had encountered before. This is the cold that sits beyond winter or frost and only inhabits giant refrigeration units in factories. Synthetic and alien, the cold gripped and scared me. That was the end of her. I grew up quickly. One could say I grew up before I was supposed to. Over time I forgot about the angel and as the sand quickened through the glass, I stopped believing in the face that once haunted me. Its features grew sinister, and my memory cast a shadow over thoughts of the creatures that hunt in the night. Then they came. The world is dark and the stars are cold now. The glass has run out and my head hurts. I am older and still dwell in the same room I grew up in. As it turns out, drifting through life was the right way to go about it. Life had extraordinarily little meaning aside from that which I assigned to it. I assigned nothing because I was too busy searching for something to hold onto. Someone to tell me what the truth was. But there is none. No truth can save any of us from the unflinching end of our time. Now at the end I wish I could have believed what others believed. I wish I could return to the faith and glory of a past life where I was unflinching and innocent. But the dead eyes have started staring again. Everywhere I look I see your face, and it has grown tired of twisting into that of an angel. False prophets abound in the land of the living dead, and I see her now for the monster she is. There’s nothing I can do though. I am resigned to the fate of constant failure and never-ending letdowns. I’ve learned that hope is the only thing that keeps anyone going at all, and if I must fall and be disappointed to allow myself to hope, so be it. The time is up. The glass is empty. Take me, for I go willingly and embrace the belief which has grown beyond myself. The last thing I saw was your face before I fell asleep again. ----------------------------------------------------

inspired by my own ask to @daniel-profeta​ (i did get around to listening to your list. i have a few new additions to my playlist) which got me thinking about the songs that mean the most to me. i decided to do a top 20 with 5 honorable mentions because i originally aimed for doing 10 but that was wayy too hard. warning: lengthy explanations incoming. TOP 5 1. Ancient Mars - The Zolas > this song changed my life forever in just 3 verses of the most heavenly, cosmically wonderous, comforting yet haunting instrumentals and vocals i have ever heard in my entire life. this will forever be @the-genderfluid-antichrist​ and i's stargazing song and i have the most wonderful memories attatched to it. this is peak music to me, it's a floating, out of body experience that i can't recommend enough. if you serenade me with this i will marry you on the spot. 2. Time Machine - Autoheart > that chorus makes my brain burst with the most amazing colors. just no words, amazing music. autoheart's lead singer has the most beautiful voice. i just wanna interpretive dance. 3. Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men > my earliest favorite song, i haven't heard anything else that comes close to it. if anyone wants to dance around the light of a campfire in the woods and go on daring adventures with me in a magical land to this song, hit me up. 4. Scare Me - Ludo > the most fun song in the whole world, halloween rock edition. like it's hard not to enjoy yourself while listening to this. 5. Do Me Like That - Penguin Prison > THE song of good vibes. kind of 80's vibes.

#REFLEXÃO Temos sempre muita pressa. Principalmente quando se trata do agir de DEUS. Há enorme ansiedade em nosso coração para que as coisas se resolvam do modo como achamos que devem ser resolvidas. Para o nosso coração inquieto DEUS sempre está demorando.

Essa inquietação se manifesta fortemente quando se trata de conhecermos a Vontade de DEUS. Mal fizemos a pergunta e já queremos a resposta. Não somos prontos em obedecer, e, no entanto, exigimos um DEUS pronto em responder. Alguns vão mais longe. Justificam sua precipitação, alegando a demora divina.

Precisamos aprender que não importa quanto tempo demore a resposta, ela vem. Precisamos aprender que não importa quanto tempo demore a resposta, precisamos dela. Se a queremos, temos de pagar seu preço e este muitas vezes é a paciência. Jeremias, profeta experimentado nas coisas de DEUS, que por muitas vezes recebera Sua Palavra e direção, precisou esperar dez dias. Ele foi um gigante espiritual e mesmo assim teve que aguardar até que ela chegasse. Geralmente queremos uma direção divina, desde que não nos custe esperar muito. A inquietação de nosso coração revela quão pouco conhecemos a DEUS e quão pouco dependemos D'Ele.

Sim, DEUS tem uma resposta pra você. Ele quer que você esteja em Sua Vontade e não tome decisões sem Sua aprovação. Todavia, Ele quer filhos obedientes, não crianças mimadas que se irritam porque as coisas não aconteceram do seu jeito e no seu tempo. Mais vale uma direção divina que demore do que uma decisão humana precipitada.

“Então, me disse: Não temas, Daniel, porque, desde o primeiro dia, em que aplicaste o teu coração a compreender e a humilhar-te perante o teu Deus, são ouvidas as tuas palavras; e eu vim por causa das tuas palavras” (Daniel 10:12)

DEUS fala, mas nós estamos atentos à Sua voz? Ele manda respostas, mas quando ela chega ainda estamos aguardando? Ou já nos retiramos movidos por nossa ansiedade? Não temos só um DEUS que ouve, temos um DEUS que responde. Importa que Ele também tenha servos que esperem o Seu falar.

Babilonia parte 4

Palabra de Dios

“Entre éstos estaban Daniel, Ananías, Misael y Azarías, de los hijos de Judá. A estos el jefe de los eunucos puso nombres: puso a Daniel, Beltsasar; a Ananías, Sadrac; a Misael, Mesac; y a Azarías, Abed-nego”, Daniel 1:6-7.

Reflexiona

La estrategia de cambiarles su identidad iniciaba por cambiarles el nombre. Los nombres originales de Daniel, Ananías, Misael y Azarías tenían significados relacionados con el Dios de sus padres, con el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob. Por ejemplo, Daniel significa “Dios es mi Juez”, Ananias significa “Dios ha sido clemente”; sus nombres contaban la historia de su pueblo con el Dios verdadero, mostraban una identificación con la adoración y culto al Dios que los sacó de la esclavitud de Egipto.

En contraste, los nombres que les colocaron a estos jóvenes en Babilonia estaban relacionados o hacen alusión al culto de dioses paganos (probablemente a Baal).

Otro detalle, no menos importante, es que Daniel, Ananías, Misael y Azarías, dice la escritura, eran de los hijos de Judá, es decir, de la tribu de Israel, de la cual desciende nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.

Tenían una identidad, pero Babilonia quería esconderla, haciendo que se identificaran con los ídolos de Babilonia; ahora, estos jóvenes fueron llevados como esclavos, no tenía el control de este cambio de nombres, pero decidieron mantener sus principios y la identidad dada por Dios.

La nueva Babilonia te dice que ahora tú puedes ser lo que quieras ser, si te identificas con un hombre, siendo mujer, puedes hacerlo o con lo que tú quieras, incluso puedes cambiarte el nombre y colocarte un sexo diferente al biológico en tu documento de identidad; todo se sustenta en una mentira, en ser aquello que no eres realmente. ¿Y esto qué implica?; no hay cosa que determine con mayor impacto nuestra vida que aquello con lo que nos identificamos, aquello que creemos que somos, pues según creemos, pensamos y al final actuamos. Dime en qué crees y te diré quién eres.

Pero cuando creemos en Cristo nos hacemos de la familia y de la descendencia de Cristo, lo mismo que Daniel y sus amigos; Él es el primero entre muchos, si nosotros somos de Él entonces dice la escritura: “Y si vosotros sois de Cristo, ciertamente linaje de Abraham sois, y herederos según la promesa.” (Gálatas 3:29). El acceso a esta herencia de vida eterna es por medio de la fe en la obra de Cristo (Romanos 4:13). La fe nos da entrada a nuestra verdadera identidad y este no es un hecho menor, esto determina nuestra vida y nuestra vida eterna, nuestro propósito. Por tanto, encontramos una identidad que se sustenta en el amor verdadero, el amor de Dios en Cristo, y este amor llena todo vacío.
